What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
Anonymity is the biggest hurdle for bitcoin to get accepted by governments/banks because they can't implement taxation as well as they can't track source of bitcoin. However anonymity is also the main feature due to which many users love to store in bitcoin and use it whenever they like. Governments/banks may never accept direct bitcoin payments, but they may implement strict rules/regulation and high fees on local bitcoin trading platform. And as recent coinbase and PBOC investigation have shown that governments are now looking to get detail about every bitcoin traders who are actively trading bitcoin so that they can put tax on their earnings as well as limit money laundering. Yeah, anonmity is the biggest obstacle which governments will use this as excuse to resist using bitcoin as official payment. The other factor is that governments and banks are printing new paper currency, which makes higher inflation, they hate bitcoin because it is deflation and decentralized. IMO governments hate bitcoin, we don't need to do something and let them accept BTC because they can't ban bitcoin either. |

You mean anonymous transactions? If yes, you are right, people can't be bugged by government or banks. Bnaks can block or freeze our bank accounts in any case, which makes people insecure, to send/receive fund using bitcoin solves this issue. |

I've been following Bitcoin and the whole crypto-blockchain-scene closely since 2012 and I'm beginning to see overwhelming positive news over the whole spectrum. Has Bitcoin finally overcome its infancy and beginning its teenage and acceptance in the world? Will 2017 be a good year? I think it will, maybe the best so far.
I am pretty sure that Bitcoin is gonna be widespread in the world, bitcoin is the cheapest way to transfer money in remittance service. Bitcoin is extremely awesome because blockchain technology is acknowledged by most banks and corporations. I really think, that bitcoin will be in 2037 a leading currency.
One bitcoin will cost 500.000 Dollar.
You can buy it and pay with it everywhere.
There will be some more currencys but bitcoin will be one leading currency that the whole world knew and accepted.
I hope you will right. We all here going to be rich if one bitcoin will cost 500.000 Dollar  . 20 years is really long time at this days. Even a third world war could start or maybe world economy will bankrupt. But if everything is going to be alright, I think bitcoin will be the most using money at 2037. 20 years is a long years to wait, but if you believe the future is great it will be worth of the wait. We, investors aim to be profitable with bitcoin, so we should be putting our investment now, don't wait for the price when you are not gonna benefit of the price increase. It does not need to put a big investment right away but saving it regularly is already a good move. Bitcoin 20 years from now nothing looks assured. Just with hope things moves on, every user of bitcoin spreading with positive energy keeps it growing. Importantly as a form of investment or trading commodity when considered people easily understands the growth percentage as well its potential. People need to use money, not all bitcoin investors will hold the coin forever, they need to trade for profit, if the price is high, they would sell. $500k price is unrealistic so far, we need to be patient but if the price can't be that, we should be optimistic hmm? |

What I'm worried about is if this raises too much and gets overfunded. If so it will definitely dump hard at launch. I've seen it too many times in crypto. Anything above about 3k BTC is way too much because there will be no room for growth. This is from an investors prospective. This is the reason why I'm cautious and waiting until the end.
