Updated test release for private transactions. If your interested in running an xnode mixer start the wallet with -distmix-autonode http://downloads.xc-official.com/testing/XCurrency-qt.exe* You should have at least 1000 XC's in your wallet for this test release if you want be an XNode mixer. * When sending a private transaction, it can take up to 5 minutes, this release is locked to 10 XC's [will be changed before final release] * Check your port is open [TCP 32348] via http://www.portcheckers.com/ [for both xnode mixer and private tx users] * XNode Mixers can't send private transactions like a normal wallet If your having an issue please contact me here, email or via XChat

Greetings Halcyon community, I am Dan Metcalf, Developer of XC. I was invited to do the review for Halcyon coin as part of my proof of code service. I’m nearly done with my review of the code and expect to release the review on Sunday. I can assure you that the code is real, the anon is a real and working solution that likely took the developer countless hours of research and programming. The solution is far superior to any of the centralized coinjoin implementations I have seen. With that being said there is potential for a cross-block chain anonymous solution since HAL is completely decentralized and trust-less. Since I am always excited to see additional innovation coming in to the scene, and at my core my deepest desire is to see crypto currencies adopted by the main stream. I have a vision of a decentralized world and anything that supports my vision and brings us one step closer deserves a chance to do so without being senselessly attacked. I encourage you all to do your research in to a coin before investing as this review is focused on the code and making sure it works as stated, is secure and is not a virus/Trojan. I'm the messiah coming to save your investment !
Ok ... and ? I'm happy you was not at the start of BTC supporting it with your vision and idea ... Just leave ... You do realize that not seeing the "con" side of an investment is a bad idea right? Any coin I decide to invest in I will welcome criticism to. Informed decisions are not blindly optimistic ones We are looking for constructive criticism, not fud. XC has proven itself to be a legitimate currency with high standards for any tech put out publicly. I remember you were a very active member in one of the fud threads. Further you did not listen to our answer and took your own conclusions. It's mostly because I've not seen any real answers. I do have a question - how does XChat compare to Bitmessage - does it offer better anonymity and if so how? With out really digging into bitmessage in more detail I can't answer that question...

From twitter :
KEY team has hired developer Dan Metcalf of XC for the ongoing Dev of our KEY OS. We're looking forward to more innovation! Thanks Dan!
wtf :/
Designing, Building and Securing operating systems is something I do for a living, and have been since the 90's. This was just a small project in the giant bucket of projects of which XC consumes the majority of. Being in business requires projects both big and small to be successful. I live, breath and eat, XC, all the time - and that will never change.

Oh, and there'll be some big news about Rev 2 a little later today...
And there is some other news in the pipeline as well, we are currently testing the mobile app, with XChat, XNode and staking. Its not quite ready yet but stay tuned!!
|
|
|
So it still just rewards % of xc owned?
XMixers get a fee from from each transaction they process, separate from staking interest

Any updates on TOR stick shipments?
Final adjustments to both the XC_OS and REV2 are being completed, once that is done I will have a date for shipping. If the delay is a concern, its possible to get I could ship sooner with the current code. Dan The upcoming release also brings back the minimum requirements for running as an XNode. Running an XNode will generate profit through trustless mixing transactions as well as serving content for the CDN and future technologies. Back to 550 XC for the Xnode? Or another figure? hopefully lower do we want to lose the decentralised part? it is back centralised if only the rich can have Xnodes I believe that EVERY WALLET online is an XNODE. Amount does not matter. This is true to a point, but to enable the startup option "-xmixer" and collect fee's from trustless transactions you will need at least 550 XC's in the wallet. I believe everybody thought that no requirements were needed for the xnodes and the anon transfers. everybody is screaming from the rooftops that every wallet is an xnode => the thing needed for anon transfers... I should have been more clear - This requirement is only for xmixer's every wallet is an xnode, and you can use the anon transfers with out having 550xc's
|
|
|
it's like a slow connection with 550XC is better for serving CDN than a superfast connection with only 5Xc's
why can't we make the possible revenue depended on the speed of your connection instead of a 550XC min requirement.
For the CDN, yes you will need to serve content without latency to receive the payments. So its possible that for CDN use only (no xmixer) the amount could be lowered
