461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long vs. Short: Bitcoin and Alts on: May 17, 2018, 02:51:58 PM
Hey guys, which do you guys think is the most favourable coins for long and short trading strategies for the remainder of 2018?

Opinions, please!

It depends, if you are good in short trading you can play with your money. However, there are coins that is not good for short trading. So, it is better to look at the trend before choosing which coin to hold or which coin to day trade.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Crypto currencies make local currencies disappear? on: May 17, 2018, 02:18:01 PM
I doubt if it will, because most government are hesitant or even against cryptocurrency. It will only happen if mass adaptation happens, and we will also have to have a good regulation on crypto because we all know that crypto price is volatile.
463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the best Long-term Hold? on: May 16, 2018, 07:43:28 PM
I have been in the market for awhile, and always hear the same mantra about trading to hold more Bitcoin and not Fiat.  I bought into the same mentality for a long time, but I'm changing my tune.  In almost every industry, first generation leaders are replaced by competition.  From Sears, Kmart, Nokia, Motorola, Yahoo, MySpace, etc.  Although Bitcoin is the current crypto reserve currency, I think that its dominance is threatened by ALT coins with faster, cheaper transactions and greater scalability.  What do you think?  Is it smart to hold Bitcoin as a long-term investment, or are there better choices among the ALT coins like Ethereum or Litecoin?

Rather than any coins, bitcoin is tge best coin to hold for a long term investment. We have seen it's improvement in time and we shouldn't doubt anything about it since the evidences are visible and we are the living proof of it. It has the highest value and it could rise more.
464  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is so volatile right now! Why should I even hold? on: May 16, 2018, 03:33:48 PM
With the price of Bitcoin being so volatile should we ever consider buying or even holding if we have bitcoins?

What are your thoughts??? What should we do??

As it stands today at this moment, the Bitcoin volatility index reads:
4.57% the latest 30-day volatility estimate
3.54% the latest 60-day volatility estimate

The bitcoin volatility index for present day can be seen at: https://btcvol.info/

My opinion of bitcoin longterm can be investigated here in this post titled "Hacks & puppets & forks - how to destroy bitcoin": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1834310.0

Votality of bitcoin is uncontrolable and we can't change it no matter what because it is already a given trait of it. I believe that we must just keep flexible to handle these changes that we might face anytime. If you have a short temper and too impatience about the votality then sell, but if you are brave enough to take all the risks , just hold.
465  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade for money or emotional satisfaction? on: May 16, 2018, 01:43:26 AM
DO YOU WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED OR RICH?…IT’S YOUR CHOICE

I came across this excellent chart the other day. It shows those times in history when the S&P 500 doubled over a ten year period and the trajectory that this doubling took.

Please see here for a relevant chart: https://www.tradinggame.com.au/want-entertained-rich-choice/

Much commentary that followed on twitter related to the steady low volatility climb that characterised the latest run and how boring this was. One of the interesting thing about markets and money in general is that people betray their true desires and personality.

Markets are the true window into the soul and in this instance what traders were actually saying is that they wanted to be entertained and not rich. The constant current moaning about the lack of volatility is little more than the plaintiff cries of children who bedevil their parents every school holidays with cries of …I’m bored.

This lay observation tallies with what others have found. The seminal work in this field of trader immaturity is An Analysis of the Profiles and Motivations of Habitual Commodity Speculators by W.B. Canoles, S.R. Thompson, S.H. Irwin, and V.G. France. I have summarised their findings below and have added my own emphasis.

“The typical trader assumes a good deal of risk in most phases of his life. He is both an aggressive investor and an active gambler.

[He] does not consider preservation of capital to be a very high trading priority.

As a result, he rarely uses stop loss orders. He wins more frequently than he loses (over 51% of the time) but is an overall net loser in dollar terms. In spite of recurring trading losses, he has never made any substantial change in his basic trading style.

To this trader, whether he won or lost on a particular trade is more important than the size of the win or loss. Thus he consistently cuts his profits short while letting his losses run.

He also worries more about missing a move in the market by being on the sidelines than about losing by being on the wrong side of a market move; i.e., being in the action is more important than the financial consequences.

Participating brokers confirmed that for the majority of the speculators studied, the primary motivation for continuous trading is the recreational utility derived largely from having a market position.

Numerous indications in our survey indicate that they are not trading solely or even primarily for profit, but may be maximizing excitement or the number of winning trades.”

So we come back to the original question. Do you want to rich or be entertained as the choice is entirely yours.

I trade for money because I want to earn. I am actually here in crypto to get a source of living without aiming for emotional satisfaction. What satisfies me is just to sustain the financial needs of my family and live a sustainable life through trading. I would love to earn better through it and that what satisfies me.
466  Economy / Economics / Re: How bitcoin can help for working abroad specially OFW on: May 10, 2018, 02:22:29 PM
Bitcoin/Coins.ph are so many way to make our life easier specially for OFW.
*They can use it to remit a money for their family in Philippines in a very convenient.
*Bitcoin is also way to earn extra money by using earning some satoshi or faucet.
Please share more on how bitcoin can help.

Though bitcoin, they could transact or send money to their loved ones in the Philippines with less hassle and with not so expensive fees. Also, it is a great platform for them to earn better and easier while working abroad. I think it is more convenient for them to have bitcoin as their way of saving and investing.
467  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to become a trader? on: May 09, 2018, 05:43:10 PM
Im a begginer for the trading but my friends that teach me how to join and how to work in trading sites. They said that you need to remove your emotions because emotion is the best enemy of a trader. And second is study the basic candle sticks it is need for the begginer.

To be a successful trader, you must be willing and eager to learn and adopt knowledge about the basics of trading. You must set aside too must emotions for it especially if the market is in red. Bear in mind that crypto is volatile and there will be sudden changes at times so you must always be ready for it.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success? on: May 09, 2018, 05:00:06 PM
Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/telegram-followers-the-new-metric-for-cryptocurrency-success/

I think it is just another tool for traders and developers of the project to communicate and discuss about the project and it's announcement. It is just a way for them to spread the future endeavors and platforms of the ico because most numbers of traders these days chose to join telegram because they find it easier to communicate and get further information about the project.
469  Economy / Economics / Re: Is banking still important in the bitcoin era? on: May 09, 2018, 04:40:04 PM
Financial technologies such as bitcoin, P2P lending and crowdfunding are just beginning to take off, and businesses involved in the industry pose little immediate threat to traditional commercial banks. Banks, after all, the country's economic lifeline, so I think the bank is still very important, do you think?

Banks are also important and being valued in our community. Of course, because it plays a vital role in our country because it is the well known place to store our earnings. It is still best for everyone to store their savings and earnings in banks because a lot of people still trust it. There are also people who  don't know what crypto is and that they still rely in banks.
470  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MARKET NOW on: May 09, 2018, 02:31:28 PM
now btc and btc grow up from bottom :btc 6800usd and eth 375 usd,do you think this is below limit and support line for eth and btc??btc pass line resistance 7200 and 7500 usd;eth pass line resistance 400 and 420 usd,btc increase more 10% and eth more 30% from bottom, liquidity seem higher normal days, everyone start buy more coin, the whole market grow up in suspect of evevryone? do you think trend down is stopped?trend recovery is avaible?i hope from now the market will strong grow up

The value of the tokens in the market is actually volatile and is changing any moment so I am not so convinced that the market will continue to stay in green. I believe that there is a big chance that it might still drop down any moment from now. However, it is still s good news and a better hope for most of us so we must just happy about it.
471  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you keep yourself from spending on unimportant things? on: May 09, 2018, 01:41:15 PM
I dont know if it is just me or others also experience it. I always set goals financially, set limits in spending and trying hard to save but most of the time no matter how i tell myself to refrain from spending in unnecessary things whenever i see something i really like even if i dont need it i cant resist buying it that cause me to regret later. Are you familiar with this situation?

Self discipline and proper budgeting is the secret to a healthy and wealthy life. I get rid of spending too much for unnecessary things by buying only the things that I need and following the budget list that I have set for the whole month. I always control my self of spending too much because I always think of the future.
472  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to start trading? on: May 09, 2018, 11:56:30 AM
Hi guys, i'm new to the field, i want to start trading but i'm not sure where to start. What crypto can I start with for a small fund (<$100)? What crypto wallet can I use? Is there any legal or security issue that i have to beware of? Thanks a lot.

You can start in any amount that you are capable of. The best thing to do as you begin with trading is just to know that basics of it. You must have enough idea about the simple trading strategies for you to avoid losses though it is actually a part of trading. Also, you must strive more to learn more about trading.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency? on: May 09, 2018, 11:05:51 AM
I discovered bitcoin when it was about $5 per coin and during that time for several reasons I could not buy it. I discovered eth and xmr when they were around $10 per coin and I could not find a good place to buy them. I discovered netko when it was about $0.05 and I could not get the wallet compiled. I probably had around 40 bitcoins and cashed them all out under $800 and I could name more.

You?

My biggest regret in cryptocurrency is when I have heard of it few years back but I hesitated and doubted about it. Instead of believing in it's capability to reach the best target goal, I still thought of it as scam. If I have only listened to a friend who shared about it, I could've been a millionaire now just like my friends who have it for years.
474  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the market turn and start growing again? on: May 09, 2018, 10:33:26 AM
As soon as everyone starts shouting about the lowly in one voice and the collapse of the exchanges, then the market will unfold. This will say that those who used to shop earlier started selling the crypt. At this time, large players will buy crypto currency from nervous people, and when bought up, news agencies and TV will begin to generate a positive background for crypto-instruments. A new rally will begin without those who left the concert.

I think the market is actually getting better and is starting to recover. It is going better and the prices has just started turning green again so I am just patiently holding my altcoins because I believe that crypto would still repeat it's history up until the last quarter of the year. I would love to hold and wait until the last quarter of the year.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are you gonna buy ? BTC LTC ETH ? other on: May 08, 2018, 10:04:51 PM
I have recently been doing a lot of trading and have gotten a variety of tokens and some btc and ether don't what to do just yet and holding for too long isn't really working too well, how can i minimize my losses? reinvestment options?

I am planning to buy more eth for I believe that ethereum has a lot more potential as it has proven us for year rather than any other coins. I would want to purchase higher amount of it and hold it until it reach the target that I expect from it. I am confident about eth.
476  Economy / Economics / Re: Future of Cryptocurrency on: May 03, 2018, 02:46:42 AM
Not because a big company will open an ICO it doesn't mean it will become the next big trend or that it can even replace any other currency which is on the top. Some investors who are really technolgy nerd will always be after the use case of the project and will not be after the trend.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is $900 a realistic prediction for ETH by EOY? on: May 03, 2018, 02:10:54 AM
I want to know what you guys think  Huh Is $900 realistic? I bought at $900 so I'm hoping I just break even. I don't really think it will hit back to $1000 because of the short pumps and whales taking profit repeating.

It is possible, ethereum reached 1,000$+ so there's no reason for it to not reach 900$. It can even be more than it's current ATH. The current market is starting to look good compared to Q1 this year. So, ethereum could cost more at the end of the year.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bought BTC at 20k on: May 03, 2018, 01:35:14 AM
Buy more bitcoin because once it recovers or starts another bull market, it can surpass it's current ATH. Just invest and forget about your investment, so you will not be stressed. Bitcoin is for a long term HODL and it's only been a few months since bitcoin dropped from it's ATH. Patience always has a great reward.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long Crypto currency will survive? on: May 03, 2018, 01:20:26 AM
How long is crypto will survive in this world ?

What could kill Crypto?

Cryptocurrency is just starting, and it still has a long way to go. As long as people find it convenient and useful it will survive. Ignorance and FUD lessens people who believe in cryptocurrency. But I really believe cryptocurrency will save people more time doing transactions and services.
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use MEW? on: May 02, 2018, 02:12:19 PM
MEW is still safe as long as you are vigilant enough to check everything before logging in your wallet. I use nana ledger and check the website certificate to make sure my funds are safe. It is the DSN that is hacked, not MEW it self.
