Try on a different computer if you can. The coins are stored on the blockchain, wallet.dat just proves you control those addresses Short of that, try googling it. I'm sure someone else has had this issue, and as I'm unable to reproduce the error, I can't offer much more advice ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Wow I really don't understand wtf happened... I asked you last week about resetting coins... You say just make a address and send it and than send it back... That's why I try it.. Now it fucked up. I should have just send it to bittrex Things can happen on computers at any time for 1000 different reasons. Some of the outcome could be corruption and most of the time it is local issues. It can be dev issues but mostly it is local. Good practice is to make backups of wallet.dat files and every time you create a new address in your wallet make a backup. I would recommend the following steps: 1) Close the wallet 2) Make a backup of your existing wallet.dat file that have the issues to a USB stick or to another place on your hard drive 3) Rename your \user\username\AppData\Roaming\10k folder to 10k.old 4) Re-download the 10k v2.0.2 wallet and let it download the block chain. 5) Rename the wallet.dat in the new 10k directory to wallet.old (this step is not really necessary) 6) Copy the wallet.dat file that you backed up in step 2 to the new 10k folder 7) Open the wallet and see if the error is gone 8.) If you get this far and the error is gone then great and you are back in business. If not then it means that your wallet.dat file might be corrupt. If this is the case then if you followed good practice you should have a backup of the wallet.dat file somewhere after you created your second address or the address that you sent the coins to. Take that backup and restore it to your new 10k folder and all should be ok. Golden rule: You never ever ever ever ever send coins to another address in your wallet without making a backup of the wallet.dat first after you created the new address and before sending the coins. Personally, I recommend sending to another wallet on a different computer but have used a 2nd address in wallet with no issues. Prognosis: If you get an error in step 4 then you have other issues on your computer that you need to trouble shoot. If you get an error in step 7 then your wallet.dat file is corrupt and requires a restore from a backup. Since corruption on a PC can happen at any time on any file from any application, it is good personal practice to make backups of critical files to cover yourself. If the outcome of this is that your wallet.dat file is corrupt and your coins lost, and you do not have a backup to restore from, then it is your own fault unfortunately. cuz i transfer 8bil coin at one time.. it fuck up my wallet.dat ..... i delete eveything and now works .. but how do i get back my coins? Now rename wallet2.dat back to wallet.dat and try to open it

That whole tweet string rant was pretty ridiculous. Lots of buzzwords without saying anything worth reading

I don't really feel like going into detail, but I've recently warmed up to NXT, as well. I have issues with that particular network, but the tech itself is solid and worth looking into

So how is everyone feeling about the recent fork... good, bad?

If anyone is curious about how Elon Musk feels about Bitcoin... His views, only about 6 months old so fairly recent: https://youtu.be/fPsHN1KyRQ8?t=32m59sThere might be something newer, but I'm not aware of it Basically said BTC is for thugs doing illegal things and he doesn't have any. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) 6 months ago, before the DEA and SS agents were arrested for stealing from Silk Road and government investigations. It's old news, really, what he says in that video, but shows he is aware of its potential

After the next MMXIV development is posted, then there is a new project for BALLS in the works
Any teasers on what is coming for BALLS ? I will say this.......................... If we are successful in our attempts, it will mean a new blockchain, completely different from the other two We are working in a programming language that we are not as familiar with as others. Our three man team is capable of using pretty much any language except the one we are currently working with. It's a learning experience for all of us, we're kinda learning it on the fly and teaching ourselves, so it may go a little slower than we'd like, but as everyone knows... when I do finally post something, that shit will work perfectly Perfect! Im gona get some more of every coin ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Really interested on where the experiment takes us! Unfortunately there's so much hate here against you but from where i'm looking from, this is the most important part of altcoins. Testing, trying, innovating and seeing what works and what doesn't work. Most people don't understand that for now, altcoins are just experiments and tests on where we can push the limits of crypto. It is the perfect "sandbox" and most innovations will come from here. But all the greedy butthurt's only think about money, yet their collective IQ is lower than on a wallnut. They will never understand that for now, its not about money. If they want money they should stick to FIAT and BTC. Yep. This is why you don't find me shilling my coins. I'm not in chatboxes begging for buyers, or posting about our coins in every thread. Our projects are designed to accumulate massive amounts of data and push performance limits Even if people hate me or my coins...reading through all 3 threads will teach them quite a few lessons about coins ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I'm just going to quote this analysis from the 10k thread since I feel like it applies to this coin, too. We go for fairness and wide distribution. I don't need money, so I don't need to steal, scam, premine or instamine anything. When you get to nearly 6000 posts, obviously some things I say people won't agree with, but that's a risk of being an active participant in many conversations; sometimes people don't agree with you. Unfortunately... around here, it seems, differing opinions automatically make your opponent a scammer ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
What is going to happen to the Bittrex BTC market? Does anyone really give a shit about the hard fork since there are 50+ billion coins out there already....
There are many networks with more coins. We all know how many coins there are, why must you come here and post negatively? Posts like yours are the reason people get uninterested. If your goal is to drive people away, you're doing a good job Would you prefer I left it at 10,000% for every block, or are you just here posting so I will notice you? lol my first block after the change was 870 lol wow Such a difference ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) does anyone care? lol what a butt hurt a$$hole. I get it Spots didn't make any friends with the whole ECASH fiasco, he should have just let it die on it's own (like it was designed to) and refused to help. lol and if thats the reason some of you give 10k a hard time then you should really learn to not take things so personal... holding grudges and resentment isn't a healthy way to live. and will turn you into an evil lil troll 3000+sats for xrp w/ 31 billion, doge 50 sats with 98 billion, bcn 6 sats with 171 billion. lol the only difference is 10k's distribution was a million times fairer than most coins with the majority of their coins mined by very few people... if you looked at them on a chart and asked yourself which one had the opportunity for more people to be apart of the mass distribution then 10k would be the clear winner in fact it's graph would look an upside down pyramid... which is the opposite of what doges would look like with the majority of their coins produced in the first massively giant blocks. so if you're picking on 10k for it's fair distribution method then your just dense and should stick to coins that have the majority of coins distributed in the first few blocks of mining (lol can't get much less fair than that) so yeah there lots of room for 10k to grow... I was buying these last couple weeks for a long term hold and don't care if it takes a bit to clear the sell wall at 1 sat, I was buying MINT at 1-2 sats as well and I ended up getting 15-20 sats for them, now I'm slowly buying back at 6-7 sats. lol if you don't know how to play the long game then stick to chasing newb coins that are pumping in the markets and live in constant fear of ditching devs etc Congrats to you iGotSpots looks like it was a flawless change ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) patience is a true virtue maybe even more so in cryptoland ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif)

need help, was trying to send to myself like before. took the amount in my balance which was slightly higher than the one on richlist. wallet says it couldn't proceed the transaction. but now the amount shown in wallet balance is double the amount befor which can't be. Also i can't acces the address i was sending of on blockexplorer. the destination adress i can see and its still empty. for the other address that is still shown on richlist i get this message´: I'm sorry, this address has too many records to display.
so now i have double my balance shown in wallet and can't acces my only full adress on blockexplorer which is still shown with balance on richlist but it looks like its slighty behind. i have no idea what my exact balance is and how to reset my wallet to show the right balance and not double.
someone had this before?
edit: i'm still getting stakes btw. so everything seems to be running
use repairwallet to make sure your wallet is displaying correct info and as far as your address on the blockexplorer goes try using the tx to display the info you want instead of the address. Also, make sure you backup your wallet.dat repairwallet didn't work. still shows wrong balance. (triple now since i tryed sending one more time) its really weird wallet is staking and my adress on richlist is increasing but i can't see it in blockexplorer. still the "to many records " message. try reinstalling now. wallet.dat is saved. im slitly nervous but still calm and controlled. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Did repairwallet return 'true'? yes , with balance triple what it was before sending to myself. but sending fails. its still gets added upon the balance. its wierd. just tried to send just 1000 coins and it denied the tx too. it says i probably spend them with a copy of my wallet dat on another comp which can't be true since i'm still getting stakes and see my adress loaded with the correct amount on the richlist. You could try importing the private key into a fresh wallet

It's easier to attack Pow than PoS. If anyone offered the bounty I did to attack a Pow coin it would have been done instantly https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=927601.0Until anyone proves to me it's insecure, I consider it 'safe' for now. A high network stake weight is more secure than a high hash rate network because of coinage Since they are basically the same in terms of security, I chose to stop paying thousands in electric bills and moved to the more energy efficient system. I'm a firm believer in cutting resource usage. Pow is accounting for a lot of dirty, out-dated energy generation being wasted With miner prices and competition the way it is, it's also very limiting for new users to get involved in a significant role. PoS makes entry easier and all experienced traders know that the entry point is much more important than the exit I can go into more detail if you want but this should give you the basic idea

That is the same input trying to stake over and over, not 4 individual orphans. That's why the amount goes up each attempt; higher coinage, thus higher stake weight. There is such a large jump in amounts because of the time spacing Shitty luck, though. I had a few that were multiple millions orphaned today, too, but the waves come roughly 50 mins apart, so don't worry, you'll get some monsters Lol, this is pretty cool, you just smash the Blockchain for 5 minutes of every 50 minutes? Soon be auto. Yea, and you see in his screenshot what happens if you try to stack up for the big ones ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I was the same way all of 2013, but converted in early 2014 when I took a deeper, more technical look into PoS
I had two fairly significant mining farms but they are either sold or shut off now
