I'm not following the whole process of minting the tokens but shouldn't there a process where the user that wants to mint WBTC have to send some bitcoins to some address? If that doesn't exist then the whole pegged token is dubious. If that process is indeed present, then I don't see why this this tokenization must be slower than the number of mined bitcoin per day. After all, anyone can just buy from the market, lock it and then get the pegged version in return.

That's nice to hear but this is my first time hearing that outdated firmware stops you from creating & publishing transactions. What about using other wallets like MEW? I'm sure you can use your Ledger just fine without even updating it.

It's probably a standard audit to make sure locked transactions can be done properly. For example, it would be a mess if they create an output where anyone can spend it by mistake. It's better to wait until they announce the swap is functioning properly.

There's no evidence but it is definitely weird. If I lose that much I'd be stressed out like hell unless I'm a whale with 10 millions cash to burn everyday. At least this means Ledger is still safe to use, and not really surprising at all since most 'hacking' method that have been published require access to the HW itself. 

Man, if you're careless when typing the address of the recipient then any coins could be lost. LN is not that techy, just a bit 'annoying' since you have to find channel to route your payment. This is why the usage is still not high. Not because it's some complicated high-level code stuff where only the big brain can use it.

Saya termasuk orang yang senang kalau jadinya make lease. Untuk antisipasi sih kalau lihat SHR sih ada periode 'beku' ketika koin yang distake di-unstake, jadinya ga mau bisa diapa-apain selama waktu tersebut. Kayaknya bisa jadi salah satu bantuan untuk mendeteksi kalau ada yang ngehack, paling ngga addressnya bisa dibekukan sama exchange lain. Bisa juga ngikutin modelnya LTO di mana koinnya ga berpindah dari wallet user terkait, tapi cuma statusnya aja delegate ke node tertentu.

While I agree that LN is still not yet mainstream, I don't think segwit adoption is "low". How did you define it anyway? Where's the source? According to Blockchair SegWit usage has been around 30%+ in the last 3 months[1]. As for the reason, LN is still not yet as friendly as you think imo. You have to open a channel, find route and etc to send your payment. Not to mention major exchanges are not yet supporting it, so the average joe probably don't think they have to use it. That being said, are you one of those adopters or are you also not using them? Why?

I think it's clear by now that there's no change in bitcoin. Either you use cex or not.

On another note, you can't expect centralized services to be free from KYC. They're running a business in a country, holding millions of money each day. Any government won't let them do as they please to prevent something bad from happening, such as exit scam or the owner went missing with all of their funds. Btw, some exchanges like Bithumb Global or Binance still allows non-KYC user to use their services, mainly for crypto to crypto transactions. But don't be surprised if they play the KYC card again.

Saya sendiri juga baru denger kemarin tentang kasus server overload itu. Ane kira kalau update itu semua filenya didownload dulu baru kemudian diupdate secara offline, tapi dari kasusnya sepertinya ga sesederhana itu. Dan masih jadi pertanyaan juga sih apa bener request ke servernya sebanyak itu sampai jadi overload, atau memang koneksi usernya sendiri.

But anyway, dengan update terbaru ini nampaknya ane makin ga perlu beli main HW baru karena dengan space kecil di Nano S sepertinya masih cukup untuk kebutuhan ane walau ada update fitur.

Gila bener mahalnya di sini. Belum lagi fee dari trade. Usernya apa ga protes ya? Jadinya harus nuker ke koin lain yang WDnya lebih murah (kalaupun ada).
