For me i have 3 types of game to bet in sports betting the one is basketball because we can easily predict who will win.
The second is boxing it is also easy to predict. then the last one is volleyball. those games are easy to predict and i love to watch this game in live while betting.

While sometimes having too much knowledge about a sport can be a issue too. You rely too much on your knowledge and push your luck. On sportbetting it is hard to place on random bets and win it unless the odds is really low may be you have the chance to win it. But for double it I dont think you wont need some information on particular match. Stuff that distract you from gambling: Kids, family & friends, hobbies including gaming (at least you'll be addicted to that rather than addicted to losing your money)

Also, I think the best is tennis and soccer. Earlier I thought so about boxing, but after the last fight of Klitschko I changed my mind. The only sport i bet is on soccer. Tennis I don't follow anymore But like said above the best thing for you is the sport you know about. Yes, we should bet only on games we know better and I don't believe in following other people tips to bet because if we win we will be happy but lose means we will curse the tip provider so I prefer to bet only on the games which I can decide the game result. But not all people have time to gather more information so they just follow their prediction. And I dont think they will give bad prediction to us because they want to earn some money too. Yes everyone will lose money at the end, only some people have the luck to win a big amount that the lost will disappear. The problem is only some people have that luck the most lose a lot of gambling and never win it back.

Honestly there's no safe method in gambling. All method has a high risk and didn't last long. The best thing you can do is stop if you win and withdraw it, only if you can do it(temptation).
But to withdraw first people need to win. I think we should just gamble for fun and entertainment instead of targeting winning bigger amount. Still you can win big amount if your really very lucky while playing for fun but don't make it a habit of gambling every day that is not good for any one.
