What threads? Are you sure it was me because as I mentioned countless of times any global mod or admin can moderate the Alt. cryptocurrency section as well?
4604  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: October 10, 2014, 02:32:37 PM
Another suggestion: it's ok to post dox as long as it isn't off topic.
Will add it to the FAQ later.
4605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Advertising spam is not allowed on: October 10, 2014, 04:43:19 AM
As much as you don't like the saying, but it's true: I don't make the rules, the admins do. I am also not an alt miner, nor a day trader and I often participate in older coins so this rule affects me the least. I may give suggestions to the admins, however, I really don't have a strong opinion against either side and the final descision still goes to theymos.

Sorry for being rude - but doesn't this make you the wrong man for the job in moderating the altcoin forums ?

its like letting a vegetarian moderate a board about sausage specialities...

Don't take it personal ;-)
Nope, I'm just the wrong guy to make rules for said boards. Let's not forget that I still use some and am interested in alts, just more from a theorical side (although I have bought some a while ago and I'm still holding). If you believe that you can do a better job, report posts and you might get asigned as one.
4606  Other / Meta / Re: Are you happy with " mprep " work so far ? on: October 09, 2014, 09:04:27 PM
i can't say i have noticed much of a moderation. it's probably like a good referee in (european) football, if you don't notice him it means he didnt make any mistakes.

the amount of shills and spam and fud is still enormous. it's hard to filter.
Thanks I guess Grin. (Possible) FUD is not moderated, it's forum policy.

the amount of shills and spam and fud is still enormous. it's hard to filter.

This, its too much, He needs help Sad
What with exactly?
4607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Advertising spam is not allowed on: October 09, 2014, 08:58:20 PM
In response to the rule, we will not stop announcing that we have listed the coin. Instead, we're posting this:

----

<COIN NAME> has just been added to a mystery exchange which we are not allowed to mention by name! If you can figure out which one it is based on who's posting this, you might be lucky enough  to get over there to trade! But, due to the new absurd "advertising spam" rules (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=718124.0) we are not allowed to say who we are.  Because that's advertising. So, let's hope you can figure it out! We're hoping this isn't advertising spam as we are not mentioning any exchange, and the coin could have been posted  to any, really. What a mystery!

The coin is possibly (but maybe not) live and available right now, although the blockchain might still be downloading and deposits might not appear until this is complete. Assuming an exchange, randomly chosen, did in fact, list it.

We have (or will very soon) post an announcement on Twitter as well. Follow us on twitter (@all_crypt or https://twitter.com/All_Crypt - Hope it's ok to post a twitter handle! We were only told we cannot post links to our sites?) to help spread the word and keep abreast of site news and updates.

We'd very much appreciate being listed as an active exchange in the OP of the this thread. If you'd like a high quality PNG logo to use, a zip is available at:

http://www.[figure it out for yourself].com/aclogopack.zip

An important note: It sucks for everyone when there is a fork, or a version upgrade, and we don't get notified. Sometimes developers just tweet that there is an upgrade. We're busy  running the site - we do not have time to read every tweet we are mentioned in every day. We read them, in time, but if it's an emergency upgrade (a fork) or there is a hard fork coming in less than a week - we may not see it. We unfortunately do not have time to read every forum thread of every coin we list - we'd love to - and we do read the forums as much as we can, but keeping up with every coin would be a full time job for multiple people. We'd rather spend that money on hardware and new code and features. Wink

The only truly RELIABLE way to ensure we know about a mandatory upgrade is to submit a support ticket. Just have someone hop by http://support.[mystery website].com and let us know. We see those all the time, and some of us have the app on our phones and see support tickets instantly.

If for some reason your github source changes (community takeover for example) PLEASE let us know that in the ticket. We save the github sources so we don't have to scour for it again later - and if you have an upgrade, but we're checking the old source code, it will really delay the upgrade. You only need to provide a github source if the source has changed.

I think that covers it! Thanks for your support of [insert random exchange name here] and we're proud to support you in return! You know, assuming we actually did list the coin. We might not have.

-----

If that's advertising spam, I'll change it again. And again. Until it reaches the point that accounts owned by pools/exchanges/websites are not allowed to post ANYTHING AT ALL. You know, until the real reason this is being done is fulfilled - until we pay.

I think we'd all rather it just be said plainly: "Pay us." At least that'd have a small degree of respectability. Whats hilarious is that none of us, except maybe Bittrex and Mintpal and Cryptsy are likely making enough money off these endeavors to afford to pay the absurdly high advertising rates here. I've looked into it. Hiring someone to run a precisely targeted AdWords campaign is cheaper than tiny advertising space here. The last aucton ended with a slot costing 4 BTC for 1 week. They are stating about 2 million impressions, but there are only about 200k unique IPs. No statistics about click-throughs, which is what just about everyone else uses, so, hard to compare. And since there are 8 slots, people always buy more than 1 to increase their visibility. Lowest last round was 2 slots. At 4 BTC each.

For $2400 I can get one hell of an awesome Google AdWords rep putting on one amazing ad campaign. For a hell of a lot longer than a week. With infinitely more visibility.

Bargain this site is.

Any kind of service advertising in other people's threads is not allowed, including indirectly referring to your service ("we're up", "we've added the coin", "see our twitter/facebook/sig").

As per this rule, discussion of individual/specific services/websites is considered off-topic.

As you already know, I'm fully on the side of allcrypt here. If this is not blatantly obvious to you (don't even give me that tripe about "I don't make the rules", then I'll spell it out.

This rule has NO VALIDITY and is UNETHICAL. Look up the words. I'm sure you can find them on dictionary.com. Oh, was that advertising a service?

You are the one making the call, therefor you are taking a stand. So just say it. You want the business to go elsewhere.

It will, you know. If you make yourselves irrelevant, there are always those hungry enough to take what you drive away.

If, as it seems, the issue is paid advertising, then make a REAL structure and a REAL set of rules by which such advertising is to be conducted. Not overbroad, arbitrary, capricious and contradictory rules made in a late night drinking session at the corner bar.

Suggested a german translation here [1] and took the liberty to add words which make clear that not only a new account is not allowed but only the use of an existing different account.

4616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moderation of (possible) FUD and insults on: October 07, 2014, 07:42:32 PM
I was referred to this thread today by a forum moderator, after I sent 2 complaints about someone on this forum.  I am left still questioning why they have not reacted to MULTIPLE complaints about an individual on the SysCoin thread.  I have not yet ran into such an outright rude, immature and downright crude individual on this forum yet.....but yet he is allowed to continue attack people on here with unwarranted and INSANELY fowl language!

I am not one to be bothered in the slightest with typical name calling or cussing, but this dude is going WAY farther than any members of this forum should have to put up with!  I've been around some pretty crude people in my life, but this dude is out there!!

It is my understanding that the dev team has also requested this person to be banned from their thread, after he was asked NUMEROUS times to calm his words down.  It was just posted that they have requested this again today.  I hope this will be honored, I don't think it should be this difficult to remove a problem on this forum that is that large!!
If this thread he was "banned from" is self-moderated, contact theymos. See bellow quote why:

If you ask someone to leave your topic and they keep posting, they will be banned. PM me in such cases.

Yes, this forum censors everything. I posted "lol scam" and my post was deleted. It was the government, I swear. They're behind everything. And aliens, who manipulate us by mind controlling garden gnomes, don't forget them, they are helping the govs...

But seriously OP, this forum deletes low quality, short, pointless, off-topic and trolling responses. Does any of the mentioned criteria fit the post(s) that was deleted? Can you quote the deletion PM(s) you received?
