There is a new active mining thread which is self moderated - unlike the old thread which was thinly moderated, the new thread is heavily moderated to remove spammy troll posts (the obvious ones, from known individuals) New Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=462370.140The same person keeps posting the same thing at the same time from multiple different accounts. The posts (all duplicates) get reported but no action is being taken. I noticed a comment in another thread which discusses the problem https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=405950.new#new which suggested the only option was to leave the thread as a free-for-all. With the old seldom moderated thread I can see that concern, however with the new heavily moderated thread the actions of these trolls is only destructive and disruptive. Every troll post is being deleted, but within minutes the same post has been re-added. We can self moderate the shit out of this thread but it's futile unless mod's step up and clear out the copy-paste-multi-account-trash. |

Moderators very rarely moderate self moderated threads. Self moderation is exactly that, you moderate it yourself (OP).

I appreciate that - but there isn't a "ban from thread" option - if there was there wouldn't be a problem.

So even if someone posts off topic etc you won't remove them because it's down to the owner of that thread? |

I've had that happen numerous times on my thread but the offender keeps coming back. That's for self moderated threads only, other types of threads aren't considered to be owned by the OP. I do know the issues you're referring to though, I'll pm you about it. |

You're correct in some of your assertions. I was tired of your fellow "investors" insisting I was Eduardo de Castro, and it was simpler to make this account than to argue.
You're also an alt, created to shill for Terrahash. You have now deleted the bulk of your posts, but the interweb nevar forgets. In your earliest remaining post, "[WTS] Terrahash DX-Large 180 GH w/ PSU - First Batch (June 19, 2013, 08:36:02 PM)," made just 19 days after you created this account, you unload your Terrahash preorder. Speaks volumes, as do all of the Terrahash and now Active Mining posts.
Now you're upset that people are making it difficult for you to apply the same template to your new boss "investment" -- Active Mining.
What you fail to understand is how the internet works: Your lulzy spins on the Active Mining fiasco, your invite-only #actm chan and the series of started and abandoned self-moderated threads have backfired, and now you're experiencing the Streisand Effect.
As much as I'd love to ban your ilk not just from this forum, but from Bitcoin as a whole, I realize that running to authorities is not an option. Instead, I'm going to continue making this place as inhospitable to both scammers and their victims. Though cruel, it's the right chemo to rid Bitcoin of this disgusting cancer.

I assume this would be more effective so other mods could take care of it. But if you only want PMs I will do that. |

Knowing that your fate is sealed and nothing can be done to change it is... It's emotionally crippling. I'm helping these "shareholders" by giving them a purpose, a target for their anger, and some busywork (deleting my posts) to keep them occupied. As a bonus, working towards a common cause instills camaraderie.This sort of thing is crucial for morale during disasters like this one. How is it you don't see the beauty of this arrangement? If not for me, you would now have to admit that you have (once again) been had, that (once again) there's nothing left to do but build up a new stash of coin and wait for the next scammer to come along  |
