While we wait for the World Cup qualifying games to resume there are demonstration taking place in many Japanese cities including Tokyo asking for the Olympic games to be cancelled. The IOC has a lot at stake here in a financial sense but I would not surprised if the games were cancelled. The Japanese people simply do not want the games to go ahead because they fear it will bring new variants of COVID-19 to their country. Opposition to hosting the Olympic games in Japan seems to be increasing.

Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea, are Asian clubs that very often qualify for the World Cup, I think, these 4 clubs will undoubtedly represent Asia again. Japan, Australia and South Korea if they qualify for the group stage, I'm sure one or more of them will be able to reach the round of 16. Qatar and Saudi Arabia have a similar climate, maybe they can qualify from the group stage, but we also need to look at their opponents. However, the natural conditions in Qatar are also likely to have a major influence on players, just like when South Africa hosted the World Cup.
Iran and Iraq could get a chance too to qualify, those teams fluctuate too much and you never know, besides, they are used to the same or worst climate than Qatar. I do not think that De Paul went for cheap, those type of clubs can't request like 100 million type of prices, that is just not possible for Udinese. At the end of the day there is just facts of life that smaller clubs can't request a lot of money. However De Paul wouldn't have worth THAT much higher neither, he worths around 50-60 even at the best of clubs, and that is why I do not think that this was as cheap as you make it out to be.
Besides the Covid pandemic situation, 35 for De Paul is a very cheap price, almost strange for a player of his quality. Maybe Atletico and Undidese will do more operations in this session. I think De Paul without Covid was easily a 50m € player. The next World Cup will be held in Qatar in the winter of 2022, in December 2022 to be precise, so there is still a good year and a half to go before the World Cup and no less than a year. I don't see anything wrong with the fact that the weaker teams would compete at the qualifying stages and show everything they are capable of, and only the really strong would go to the final stage of the tournament. You have to agree that it is very illogical when in the final stage of the tournament there are several teams that are clearly much weaker than those teams that are not allowed in this round simply by quotas. Doesn't this violate sporting principles? I don't see anything wrong also but FIFA would give a chance to weaker teams to show their performance vs top teams. There was surprises sometimes. Imagine seeing Nation "where does it exist in this planet?" reaching advanced stage and the feeling of its people.
