how does the currency supply of a country is decided, I searched got that it should be equal to GDP is this true or it's an ideal condition

The scope of your question is much bigger and can't be suitably replied here. Rather, I would request you to watch the below video from Youtube.

This video will at least give you an idea even though money printing and circulation requires a combination of many factors. Hope this helps at least to understand the basiscs!
4602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenNode requires KYC now! on: August 25, 2019, 06:21:37 AM
Contrary to a lot of people here, I would welcome such steps taken by legal merchants and businesses. Because legal businesses are bound to the comply with the local laws and regulations. Also I don't understand why would anyone resist such KYC requirement if that particular individual isn't doing anything illegal. If I have a t-shirt store today and my payment settlement provider is asking for KYC, why would I deny the request and take my business elsewhere?? What's the problem in here??

4603  Local / India / Re: Stop blaming bitcoin | Don't fall for Matrix or HYIP on: August 25, 2019, 06:06:24 AM
MLM and Ponzi scams are sad reality of India. While educated people don't blame bitcoin for such scams but government bodies like RBI are effectively combining bitcoin/cryptos with such scams. If you refer to the arguments in RBI vs Crypto case dated 20 August, 2019, RBI had blatantly linked cryptos as ponzi scams. Just see the below tweet from Crypto Kanoon who were providing live updates of the argument to the general mass.

https://twitter.com/cryptokanoon/status/1163760567586185216

The mention of ponzi is not a good link up to be done with crypto. People fall prey for ponzi scams because they want to earn more than the conventional banking interest rate. With the falling interest rate, such ponzi scams are getting prominence again, especially in South Indian states who are offering as much as 18% - 28% interest rate per year.

SEBI has failed big time in educating general mass from the risk of such ponzi investment, which is their primary job! As a result now bitcoin is being linked with the ponzi scams. It's a big failure of the regulatory body who didn't apply their mind in studying cryptos properly!
4604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are offering Negative interest rates! will this help BTC on: August 25, 2019, 05:29:06 AM

Negative interest rates+inflation are awesome for the people and companies with big amounts of debt.
The problem is that the economy is addicted to debt and negative interest rates make it even more addicted.
I think that keeping negative interest rates is good news for bitcoin, but sooner or later, the bankers are going to go something in order to destroy the crypto competition.

It's not actually awesome in a way that you think! It has severe impact on the economy. Banks are the still the main pillars of the economy as it controls the public money and majority of the common people still use banks for depositing their money, thinking it is a secure way to do it. Now think this similar situation from the perspective of a common man who deposits more money in order to get less amount at a later date. Banks are going to earn from the difference in interest rate anyways, their strategy is not going to change. They will probably offer -5% interest rate for checking accounts and -3% for borrowers. Their income is a straight forward 2% no matter whatever the market prevailing interest rate is!

Bitcoin is supposed to be benefited from the negative interest rate regime. But the main beneficiaries are precious metals like Gold, Silver or Platinum. If you look at the price chart of Gold from last one year, the trend will be clear to you! Check the below link,

4605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lack of retail interest indicates increased institutional flow into Bitcoin on: August 22, 2019, 03:38:18 PM
That to me is mainly because retail people are no longer totally new to Bitcoin. They probably heard about how BTC was 20k 2 years ago and they think now is just only half of that and do not think it will rise again.

The same as 2 years ago they heard of ETH and other altcoins going x100 or more. Now they hear it is going down and down. So of course no interest!

It is probably one of the reasons for less interest from the mass, but that's the viewpoint of an investors. A merchant will not think in this similar line because bitcoin is not an investment to them. What matters to them is the stability in price which is certainly missing in crypto market for very obvious reasons!

There are other reasons as well for the retail segment. The primary one is the absence of government regulations and framework of crypto usage. Very few countries have a proper framework for using crypto and retail business is an organized business segment. So an organized business segment would never adopt something into their business which doesn't have a framework available! That's where the adoption rate is getting hindered!
4606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Founder of bitcoin??? on: August 22, 2019, 01:31:42 PM
Strangely James Bilal Caan claims that he was the founder of bitcoin.. But lost his hard drive.. Is this possible??

What you guys think about James? Why he use this type of statement.. Specially his explanation about his hard drive?

I just found his statement two days ago and started reading about it. I can't deny the fact that I really enjoyed reading his entire claim. It is way better than any other claims that I read till date and I really enjoyed reading it. This fellow must have taken a good long time to write it.

Nonetheless, we all know there's no concrete way to prove someone as the creator of bitcoin other than signing from the private key known to be Satoshis as correctly mentioned by Neuroticfish. So until that happens, it's better to sit back and enjoy some good readings!

I believe the fellow specifically mentioned about the hard drive so that no one can ask for the proof of ownership!

Btw, his website link is given below,

Enjoy!
4607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I don't know how to trust a gambling site nowadays! on: August 22, 2019, 10:59:18 AM
Why nowadays when there's a gambling site that offer a bunos on your first depost it seems like scam?  Especially if the bunos is to much than your initial deposit.

It depends on any individual's past experiences and definitely vary from person to person! But deposit bonuses comes with some rules and regulations attached with it. In most cases, these bonuses are not directly withdrawable. I have seen a lot of players fail to read those rules and then yells when their withdrawal request gets rejected!

Quote
And also whe all knows mostly gambling site nowadays are using KYC.  but why when there's a promising site that doesn't require  kyc it smell fishy as well?  What did happen to this world?  How to trust again on this kind of sites?

Licensed gambling sites may require KYC data of customers to remain compliant with their local regulation. Unregulated and unlicensed gambling websites usually do not require such data. Even though exceptions are there for both cases, it is better to avoid unlicensed gambling websites even if there is no KYC requirement. That's a general preference of experienced gamblers.

Gambling world is usually full of scams so people are generally more cautious before they invest in any website. Any behavior that is not common to this field, easily raises red flag and people try to avoid them! That's general perception!

It's always better to read reviews from the internet before you put your hard earned money into any casinos. That may help in win some trust back!
4608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto is by no Means a Japanese on: August 22, 2019, 08:12:54 AM
Do you all know the new drama about a new Satoshi? If not, see the below website,

https://satoshinrh.com/

Guys, how does it matter that who Satoshi is and what is his nationality?? Sometimes, privileged information can cause big harm that we can't even fathom right now! Let it be the way it is written in wiki or believe whatever the US court says! Let the real satoshi live in peace!
4609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Game Changer for Cybercrime on: August 22, 2019, 05:47:01 AM
This article states that the World Economic Forum shared that attackers managed to compromise 2 billion data records in 2017 and 4.5 billion in the first half of 108 blaming that Bitcoin could be a big part of it.

Ciphertrace recently reported a $3 billion loss due to cybercrimes and mentioned in their report that BTC still reigns the king of the dark web. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think cybercrime has increased because of crypto?

https://insidebitcoins.com/news/security-experts-tell-why-bitcoin-is-a-game-changer-for-cybercrime/235786

The span of internet is increasing day by day. The average time spent on internet by the world population is increasing as well. So it's no wonder that the cybercrime is also increasing along with it. But that's just a dark side of any technology. But if anyone links it with bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, then it's not right!

Majority of the crypto users are law abiding citizens who are willing to pay taxes and live a life of dignity. Criminals were always there in the society and they are just as flexible to quickly change their modus operandi. Blaming bitcoin for the rise of cybercrime is not a right thing to do!
4610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I buy things on Amazon with Bitcoin? on: August 21, 2019, 04:15:41 PM
Bitcoin can be used to buy a variety of products available on Amazon ??
Can I buy Bitcoin through Robinhood?

You need to use a third party application to buy amazon products using bitcoin called, purse.io! However, I have not used their services personally but heard about them. But I will suggest you to read the below link before you begin using Purse services,

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3f36s5/before_you_use_purseio_a_few_things_everyone/

Secondly, there are lot of ways to buy bitcoins. I don't know about Robinhood but you can use Coinbase for your crypto purchasing need. Maybe someone else can help you for robinhood. But usually a little Google search will reveal more options specific to your country!
4611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future for crypto exchanges? on: August 21, 2019, 04:07:21 PM
For today, the biggest crypto exchange Binance has too many troubles: hacker attacks, personal data leak, and the other scandals. Thus fewer people want to use it. What is more, such non-custodial exchanges such as changelly and shape shift become more popular. Crypto market changes fast. So what we should expect from crypto exchanges in the future?

The merit of an exchange depends not on the hacking incident, rather it depends on how the exchange handled that hacking incident. I believe Binance did a great job here. First they have handled the 7k bitcoin hack with the help of their SAFU fund and the KYC breach case is still dicey! I don't remember, any other exchange has shown such kind of maturity in handling such unexpected events as on date!

If someone doesn't like centralized exchanges who work in close conjugation with regulators and runs a legal business, they can move to decentralized exchanges. But on the flipside, if anything happens in these exchanges, no one is going to take the responsibility like Binance did! They at least have a vision and the SAFU fund is one of the examples of that vision they implemented after coincheck hack!

Do you have any more similar incident?
4612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth Price faces further decrease on: August 21, 2019, 12:05:02 PM
The ETH was primarily betting on the ICO/smart contracting business to drive the demand in the market. It actually resulted a huge pricing push back in 2017 along with the push given by bitcoin pricing surge. The ICO market is dead now and IEOs have taken over but the volume is quite less compared to 2017.

In 2017 we have seen thousands of ICOs in the market struggling to get prominence. In 2018 it decreased by half and 1/4th in 2019. The demand for ETH is certainly decreasing gradually which actually hit them hard.

Also the presence of competitors made the situation worse. Earlier ETH was the pioneer in the smart contracting field but now we have many options like NEM, EOS, Steller, Cardano etc. Which certainly decrease the demand further.

There are other reasons as well but I believe these abive listed reasons are the major ones for ETH decline. I frankly do not see the situation changing on its own unless we have a stimulus.

Tokenisation of all assets:

Tokenisation is nothing new in the current financial market. One of the examples of tokenisation is ETF. Where the ETF company assigns you some unit based on your investment whose value is based on the underlying asset. It's just that ETFs have not yet implemented decentralized ledger technology. So the structure might be little different currently but the end result is same!

When the current financial market will be replaced by blockchain smart contract based infrastructure?

It's a big change and it won't happen overnight. Gradually things will move to blockchain based systems as such changes require a huge change management planning and execution capabilities. Additionally it requires huge investment as well to handle and accommodate such changes.

Looking at the current economic scenario, the chance of such overhaul looks really grim atm. Understand the business perspective of it. Moving into a blockchain based system is an internal change and won't drive additional volumes to the business. Definitely it will do some certain percentage of cost cutting but unless that cost cutting volume is a huge one, no company will be interested in doing that!

Such kind of changes will be driven by startups in fintech sector and probably they will be the pioneers in blockchain and smarr contract kknd of things but I don't see much hope for conglomerates unless they are sitting on a huge pile of unused cash!
4614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Burn Satoshis coins to end the threat of prices crashing - Paxful Founder on: August 21, 2019, 10:44:46 AM
Paxful founder Ray Youssef has tweeted a bizzare idea in which he wants the community to burn Satoshis coins, so the threat of prices crashing due to Satoshi revealing himself and selling his coins goes away. While I understand that if Satoshi were to sell his coins crypto prices indeed will crash, but in the end it’s his creation and his coins no one should decide for him. What are your thoughts on this should the community support this bizzare idea, or voice their opinion and keep Satoshis coins safe?.

Source: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/paxful-founder-makes-wild-proposal-161450915.html

I absolutely don't support such bizarre idea of burning anyone else's property. Also is it technically possible to burn his coins when we are not controlling those coins?? I don't think it is possible!

Also remember, virgin bitcoins are selling with premiums attached to it and Satoshi owned bitcoins are all virgin bitcoins. Even if Satoshi really sells his bitcoins, there will be another group of buyer who will buy it so the impact will be very limited and temporary!
4615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins should focus more on technology on: August 20, 2019, 09:31:36 AM
Altcoins are trying to focus on the technological aspects of the economy but what's ruining them is their business sense! Since last 2-3 years, we have seen thousands of ICO projects flooding the market with equal numbers of tokens and a promise to solve equal numbers of problems that doesn't even exist in the market.

The altcoin creators need to underatand that people are not willing to have thousands of different coins for thousands of different activities. Only one coin can solve many practical problems and a range of foreseeable issues in technological aspect of the economy.

Bitcoin and few other altcoins like Eth, Eos, Dash or Litecoin is enough for the masses. We certainly don't need separate coins for paying a restaurant bill and buying movie tickets. One comprehensive ecosystem is more than enough!
4616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Terrorists Turn to Bitcoin for Funding, and They’re Learning Fast (NYT article) on: August 20, 2019, 07:23:57 AM
My question to the author of the article is,

Was fiat never involved in terrorism financing? Cryptos came into picture just 10 years ago and started gaining popularity and momentum sjnce 2017. How was terrorism being financed prior to that??

Every new technology comes with pros and cons. But that doesn't mean that we need ban it. There are ways to deal with risks and that's the route we have to take. For this reason only, I support the guidelines given by FATF in G20 summit.

People can scream to support anonymity but that's not going to solve the problem. Proper implementation of KYC and AML acts can reduce such illicit activities and save commoners like us!

To OP's question, such news can neither impact nor increase the adoption rate of bitcoin. It's just a news with a very limited reach and effect!
4617  Local / India / Re: Future & Challenges facing Cyptos in India on: August 20, 2019, 06:09:41 AM
Well, I want to suggest every Indian to follow Crypto Kanoon youtube channel

Yeah these guys are good, arguably at top when it's come to crypto updated news. I recently started following them in Twitter and noticed that they were giving live updates on court hearing very efficiently.

BTW you are connected with them in any way? I might need their help in near future.

I am not personally connected with them but you can get in touch with them through twitter dm. They are responsive and you will surely receive reply from them. They are the only credible source of crypto news in India that is available in social media.

I think the final judgement will be in favour of crypto. I went through the whole video of crypto kanoon and I think the judge will give the final verdict in favour of crypto. What do you guys think after seeing the video?

I sincerely hope that your statement becomes a reality! But Indian judiciary system is infested with political intervention and money power. Otherwise Salman Khan would have been imprisoned by now. So I really don't hope much because the old guys running this country think crypto is a ponzi scam!
4618  Economy / Economics / Re: WHY WASTE TIME ON THE 'WRONG' INVESTOR? on: August 19, 2019, 06:34:40 PM
Sometimes we just waste time on the wrong people concerning our business proposal or projects. In order to find the suitable investor, you need to speak to the right people who are likely to understand your mission. For instance, if your business is on the educational sector, it is better to speak to a school principal or a stakeholder who believe something related to education can gave him/her returns on an investment. In that case, it is mostly unnecessary to speak with a business man who is into mining.

Your statement is absolutely wrong! If you want to start a business in education sector and you need funding, it is better to speak to a businessman from any sector instead of speaking to a school principal. Because the businessman will have money to fund your business but the school principal won't. However, it is better to keep a school principal in your team to increase your credibility to that businessman!

Suitable investors are hard to find so it is always better to approach anyone with money. You never know who will be willing to fund your business with their wealth! I personally would not close any communication line out of assumption unless and until I approach them! That's harmful for business!

4620  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blocked: The money transfer wars - Could bitcoin help? on: August 19, 2019, 06:01:43 PM
Hi community!

We have recently published our newest story and this time it's about what's happening in Europe in the online gambling markets. Regulation has made it really difficult for the companies in this industry and it is affecting the currency transfers as well. Some countries have even intimidated with transaction blocks.

Graham A. Jarvis writes for example that Norway has given warning letters to major companies operating from Malta and blocked their transactions from Norway. This is a big cat on the table at the moment and a lot of companies are affected.

How alarming do you see this progress? Can this increase the popularity of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies being used in online gambling?

Read the whole article here: https://bojoko.com/stories/blocked-winning-the-money-transfer-wars/

The answer is right in front of you! The answer is Bitcoin or any other popular cryptos like Litecoin, EOS, Dash or Doge or whatever you like! Cryptos are the best currency to be used in gambling business because of its anonymity and governments doesn't have the power to block any of it! If government start taking harsh measures to block banking access to the gambling industry, they can just move their operations to a gambling friendly nation and start operating using cryptocurrency! The adoption rate and demand, both will increase for cryptos as well as the users will have peace of mind! Simple!
