4601  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ANACS Coin Grading Guide (Interest Check) on: April 24, 2021, 05:19:55 AM
It sure can’t hurt. However, as with most coin collectors, ANACS is not anyone’s favorite. Many of us collectors here have moved to ICG grading. They approached us first if I’m not mistaken and have been incredibly involved/accommodating etc when it comes to grading our coins. This is not to say you shouldn’t do the write up..I think that would be very helpful.
4602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NFT- Gaining UNDERSTANDING] on: April 23, 2021, 09:17:48 PM
What’s up snowflake!  Cheesy So in terms of like art, as cool as beeples art is IMO..those prices are fn looney! Where I see NFTs being a great fit is for things like a car title or marriage certificate. Likely plenty of other legit use cases but I’m no expert.
4603  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Smart Contracts ..where are we now in their advancement ? on: April 23, 2021, 12:33:08 PM
Nov 19, wow time flies..I am hoping to get an update from you Mr Robots..are we still where we were back in Nov 19’, or has there been some major “game changing” updates/advancements in the SC space?

One big reason I’m curious of late is DeFi. Every DeFi project I’ve reviewed is utter, un-sustainable, nonsense. But..maybe I’m missing something? Maybe there’s legit DeFi projects out there that utilize S.C.’s in a “breakthrough” way?  I of course am not looking for DeFi project suggestions here..just curious from a technical standpoint.

It’s hard to get info you can trust about this topic so I really appreciate you guys here.
4604  Other / Meta / Re: Do Banned users stand a chance of been reconsidered or been appealed for on: April 23, 2021, 03:37:19 AM
I see some high profiled account been Banned on daily bases due to several reasons but the most common is plagiarism. Most of which are contributors to the forum and the have contributed towards the active status of this noble forum. Can such users be appealed for or is there no other measure other than permanent ban on such users. Regarding the fact that with or with any user the bitcointalk forum still functions to its fullest. But considerative measures should be taken for older accounts sake of the pains it took such user to get to where they are at the moment.

In all no body is above the laid down rules laid down to guide posters on the forum but most of the times providing the link to an imformation shared on the for might skip the mind of the OP who made the post. I think members should be warned a couple of times if such user proves adamant then drastic measures could be taken against such. Many lovers of bitcointalk have gotten their account Banned but due to the passion for Crypto knowledge most especially bit coin the take the pain of creating newer accounts so as to contribute their quarter to the forum which will mean starting all over from the scratch.

In all its just a suggestion open to correction and critics from reputable scholars of this noble forum. I just felt I should throw a little suggestion open to correction so I get guided on what it entails to keep a clean record on the forum and also how to help users who forget to provide source to their posts so as to avoid been Banned on the forum.

As a few have pointed out, I was lucky enough to get a second chance here after I lazily plagiarized a couple posts one day ( a long story /something that will bother me forever).  I would have to disagree that “high profiled” users are banned on a regular basis for plagiarism (and if you mean legendary members, a strong likelihood those accounts were bought).. The vast majority who get caught and banned are simply shit posters who do nothing here in a positive manner and are only here to participate in signature/bounty campaigns (pretty easy to tell who those users are after a quick glance at their post history).

Obviously having been given a second chance I’m all for it, but unfortunately allowing everyone 1-2 “slip ups” would create far more issues than it would solve (way more work for mods, most of all). That said I of course hope anyone who’s proved to be a net positive here would get a second chance.

How to get unbanned ?.. for those of you reading this thread and wondering.. First you likely need to have been here for some time and have been an active contributing member. Theymos has stated if you believe you deserve a second chance, have some other member here open a thread to appeal on your behalf. I appealed here for over a year before Yogg (who I can’t thank enough) made a post appealing to Theymos/Mods & the community on my behalf. It took a few weeks if I remember correctly until Theymos lifted the ban. Unless you meet the above criteria I wouldn’t waste your time trying.

But if you are here for more than just trying to make money I wish you the best of luck with your appeal. Theymos and Hilarious are extremely fair and reasonable..be patient with them if they don’t immediately reply to your appeal.

The maker of these coins is a good buddy, I will shoot him over this thread and see what I can find out for you.
4606  Economy / Economics / Re: Let’s debate stock market is a zero sum on: April 19, 2021, 02:33:01 PM
As a financial advisor who's job is intertwined in to the stock market, I personally a full heartedly do not believe the stock market is a ponzi.  I can go one more and guarantee that it is not a ponzi.  That said, sure...is there some manipulation in the markets? Absolutely there is, just like there is manipulation in any and all markets..but everything is open ledger, so to speak, so you can see what is going on between the companies who offer their shares, and the markets/market makers offering those shares for trade.
4607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you limit your gambling time? on: April 19, 2021, 02:14:58 PM
For me personally gambling has always been a "just for fun" type thing.  I love to gable and have been doing so as long as I can remember, but for me it's never turned it to anything more than just a little bit of fun here and there.  I do however know how easy it is to get addicted to things and I never take for granted how easy it's been for me to not go overboard with gambling..and I certainly wish the best for the those struggling with the addiction.
4608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is private and decentralized, ok but what if someone dies? on: April 19, 2021, 02:09:32 PM
This is a very important topic that I have actually discussed here before.  Although this is related more toward the "Collectibles" board, it still applies in any situation when one passes an wants to leave their bitcoin and or cryptocurrency behind to their loved ones.  Here is my write up.  I think you will find it helpful, or at least hope you do https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5134350.msg50703294#msg50703294
4609  Economy / Speculation / Re: We entered a bear market earlier than expected on: April 19, 2021, 02:06:55 PM
These kinds of posts are quite funny.  Normally made by brand new accounts and our spouting out some sort of "sounding the alarm" type post, when in actuality they have no clue what's really going to happen moving forward.  You provide no numbers/no proof , no nothing behind your claim.  How are you so lucky that you know all this info and others dont?

4611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen if Satoshi moves or sells his Bitcoin? on: April 17, 2021, 05:04:16 PM
It's of course entirely possible that satoshi may one day come back and or could simply dump all of his coins.  Now in my humble opinion that is never going to happen, however who knows.  The other thing that I think people seem to forget or perhaps not even realize is that Satoshi likely had countless wallets.  We know of one of his wallets for sure, but who's to say he didn't have many more? Of course he did.  If Satoshi is alive he's definitely using bitcoin, just other coins from other wallets.
4612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk stop messing up the crypto market on: April 17, 2021, 04:56:22 PM
I am extremely annoyed by all the tweeting Elon has been doing about cryptocurrency.  Really I am annoyed most by the Doge coin tweets.  It amazes me how many people truly believe that he loves Doge coin.  I was arguing with someone yesterday telling them Doge has no utility and no future upside potential and they replied back something like "there's a reason Elon musk is such a Doge fan"... of course I responded letting them know that he is trolling and if he really loved Doge why didn't telson buy 1.5 billion of it and not bitcoin.  It's obnoxious but he gets a lot of attention for it ( which he loves ) so he's going to keep doing it.

4614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 17, 2021, 04:19:20 PM
I have to say, I am very impressed with what the New York Knicks are putting together this season.  I sure did not see this coming, but with that said I'm also not surprised being that they are coached by Tom Thibodeau.  As a Chicago Bulls fan I was absolutely furious when the Bulls management forced him out of Chicago.  He may be absolutely "basketball nuts", as he's a bit overboard with his passion for the game at times, but he sure does get results.  I believe the Knicks have the best defense in the game right now...crazy.
4615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best Sport to bet on ? on: April 17, 2021, 04:04:00 PM
Wow, a lot of responses, which I appreciate.  I've read through a good chunk of them, but not all yet.  One general "thesis" I am seeing is people arguing that there really is no one sport that is better to bet on than another, but really more so just about personal preference/what you enjoy most.  Now I do agree that it makes the most logical sense to be on the sport that you have the most interest/knowledge in.. therefore of course giving yourself a leg up as much as possible...However... I do feel like there are some sports that are simply more difficult to bet on just period. Take MLB and NFL for example, the MLB plays 162 games vs 16.. Baseball has without question more confusing betting odds and since there are 162 games there's a much better chance for variability game to game..same kind of goes for the NBA..having so many games makes any one regular season game in theory meaningless and that does effect how players play.  Where as with the NFL there are only 16 so they are always trying as hard as possible, creating less variance.

I really do think there is hard data somewhere in here..I'm just not smart enough to put it on paper.
4616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Love the bad news on: April 16, 2021, 02:18:01 PM
I am not sure if bad news is really what you want to be hearing.  I understand exactly what you're saying here though.  You want stuff to come up in the news where people who are less savvy/educated on the topic will sell so you can then go buy low.  I feel you there, and wish for the same in all investments I believe in..but sometimes bad news is just that, bad.  Some bad news could damage bitcoin in a very harmful way so I would be careful in saying you "love bad news', because not all bad is good.
4617  Economy / Gambling discussion / What is the best Sport to bet on ? on: April 16, 2021, 02:13:25 PM
I am just kind of curious if anyone has done any research or has any opinions on which sport they think is the best sport to gamble.  I guess I'm looking for both opinions and hard data.

Personally I bet on NFL Football the most, followed by the NBA, MLB, College Basketball and every once in a while I'll bet on a big Soccer ( football for you Euros ) game like the Classico.  For me, Football by far seems to be the easiest sport to bet on.  Baseball and Basketball are too random and their betting lines tend to be a bit more confusing.  With the NFL only having 16 games vs MLB with 162 and the NBA with 82..It seems like there is much less of a chance for an upset or sloppy game vs the other two where the regular season simply doesn't mean nearly enough.

Just curious what you guys think..
4618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: /r/Wallstreetbets allowed discussing Bitcoin, then banned it again on: April 16, 2021, 02:04:39 PM
I think wallstreetbets is a joke overall.  I have visited the subreddit a few times and every time I do I read an absolutely massive amount of information and ignorance.   Wallstreetbets is just a giant pump and dump group and there is not legitimacy to that in my humble opinion.  I am simply not a fan, and stuff like this makes me hate them even more.
4619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "COIN"- Coinbase IPO- Opens today- Thoughts? on: April 16, 2021, 02:02:25 PM
Why do you despise Coinbase , can you give a reason why? Is it because Coinbase is centralized (yep, I have seen people who don’t like it because it is centralized) or is it because you have had a different issues with them? I don’t hate their platform and it’s one of my favorite exchanges that I am making use of, and I have not had problems with them, and one thing I like about their platform is that they always makes sure to put security first by making sure that their platform is secure.

They have been doing really great and they are good at promoting themselves and helping the cryptocurrency community and market. I don’t really see anything that is wrong with them, but I understand everyone and personal issues.

Coinbase is utterly corrupt, which amazes me that this hasn't been brought up at all on any of the financial news networks ( that I have seen) while this whole IPO talk has been going on.  When people ask me to give them examples of how they are corrupt I always tell them to first google "Coinbase complaints" and take a look at the countless issues people have had.

I was banned from Coinbase several years ago do to "activities they deem inappropriate...those activities?.. I was ordering allergy medicine from a LEGAL online pharmacy, but they didn't like it.  I've had countless buddies who've had funds locked and tied up for absolutely zero reason..and with countless attempts to contact Coinbase they simply get ignored.  One buddy has to file a legal complaint from his lawyer to get them to release his funds.  Another buddy who had been trying for well over 2 months to get his funds unlocked had to tweet Brian Armstrong ( CEO ) and once he made it public of all his issues they finally release them.  I've had other buddies who tried everything and literally were never given their funds back.

Lets talk about how they have had next to no customer service for years and years ( and STILL dont!)... you will be waiting weeks to months to hear anything back.  The fact that they don't have a phone line to call in to is insane for a company will a near 100 billion market share.

How about the fact that Coinbase has had a freezing exchange for years and years.  They've been caught utilizing practices to benefit them before and just recently were.  Anyone with half a brain knows they've freeze their exchange on purpose to take advantage for themselves.

I could go on.  Moral of the story, try to avoid using Coinbase and if you do NEVER EVER leave your coins on the exchange!
4620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devices used for Gambling on: April 15, 2021, 02:27:26 PM
I am surprised to see so many people who use both their desktop/laptops the majority of the time to make their bets.  I  place probably 90% of my bets on my cell phone.  I think this number for everyone ( those using their cell phones ) will only go up as gambling becomes legalized more so worldwide.  I know eventually Pro Sports teams are going to allow for in game betting at the stadium...this will of course ramp up mobile use ( also something I can't wait for ).
