4621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Information is the key! on: August 04, 2018, 10:50:18 AM
Being informed all the time would never be a wrong thing. It is true that in this market, there are lots of uncertainties and being uninformed would be suicide. Like how a single news can push the price up several hundred dollars for a coin.
4622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does the future hold? on: August 04, 2018, 01:39:01 AM
What does the future hold? What should/can we do?
We should hold (heh) since there is a huge chance that this trend would go mainstream in the future. The ecosystem needs people with strong hands; trading might be bothersome for some people especially if they have no experience at it, hence the most logical thing to do is hold.
4623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is actually happening to the alt coin market ? on: August 02, 2018, 03:52:34 PM
Alts are pegged to the price of bitcoin. Which is why if the price of bitcoin increases abruptly, the price of an alt would remain at the same sat but it has different value in dollars. Now, the price of altcoin goes down and bitcoin goes up when people sell their alts for a low price to enter the bitcoin market early.
4624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to start an ICO? on: August 02, 2018, 01:11:18 PM
Having a revolutionary idea might not be enough to make an ICO successful; majority of investors look for companies or organizations that go all the way bay prior to conducting coin offerings. It makes sense that these kind of projects has a hight chance of success compared to some unknown entity without a working product.
4625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are not independent! on: July 31, 2018, 03:16:44 PM
As BTC grows it sucks the sats from altcoin and once BTC dominance is re-established, sats return back to alts. This has been happening for quite a while.
This is true. In fact, around this same time last year, the market has undergone what some people dubbed as "altcoin season". Whereas interestingly, bitcoin was tanking and the alts are gaining. This is the only time I have seen alts become more detached from the price of bitcoin.
4626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 is the year of security tokens? on: July 31, 2018, 03:12:57 PM
It is true that 2018 would be the year of security tokens?
what are they?

I'm not entirely sure if security tokens are more abundant now because as I see it, exchange tokens are the ones taking the spotlight. Most of the ICOs now have their exchange as the main idea of the project and the token would be used in their ecosystem.
4627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Look for in a New Project? on: July 29, 2018, 05:37:05 AM
An ICO with a working product is a huge plus for me. If it does not have any, I read their whitepaper to see if the idea is plausible and not too ambitious.  The integrity of the team is also important; the transparency of the team will eliminate the doubt of investors which will in turn benefit the project as it obtained more genuine support.
4628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is here to stay or ethereum overtakes in the market? on: July 29, 2018, 05:10:00 AM
I doubt eth would overtake bitcoin anytime soon. Bitcoin is limited to 21M coins while Eth has no limit in its supply. By textbook law of supply and demand, the price of eth is bound to depreciate if it vitalik does not put a cap in the supply.
4629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it suitable to buy Bitcoin in 2018 with a long haul perspective of 2-4 year? on: July 28, 2018, 03:20:19 PM
If you look at it on a long term perspective, buying at the prices now is cheap since bitcoin has more room to grow. Alternatively, you can invest in alts. The profits are much higher than bitcoin since they have the capacity to do a 100% increase unlike bitcoin.
4630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't buy Bitcoin with alts! on: July 28, 2018, 03:10:17 PM
Perhaps some people dont have fiat to spare so they'll have to make do with what they have; that is, selling their alts. If you look at it positively, buying bitcoin using alts would reinforce btc's market dominance--which in turn brings up new investors confidence in this space.
4631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: white paper. !! on: July 28, 2018, 03:05:30 PM
You can't just rely on a project's whitepaper; some are just plagiarized like Benebit. Better yet, scrutinize their project extensively. Check their social media accounts, the linkdin profiles of the team or get in touch in their telegram group. The most effective way to know about the project is to ask the team directly.
4632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to suspect such projects in the Scam on: July 27, 2018, 02:15:20 AM

I don't think judging a scammer only from the web design is a good idea.  I mean look at every online store, online news etc, they all look the same.  I've seen a lot ICOs website with same style too.  You know like blockchain style, line, dot connecting, hovering on the background of the web.  Maybe that is just a style or a genre of a blockchain business.  Maybe the same designer too.  But it's only my opinion.  Who knows, right?
If an ICO can't even exert effort on the design of their website, what can we expect when it comes to builing the actual product? The web design, including the ann thread, is one of my metrics for determining if an ICO is a scam.
4633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Who Agree with me On this picture about ICO projects? on: July 27, 2018, 02:08:28 AM
The picture describe most of the ICO these days but it does not necessarily represent the totality of ICOs. The blame on why this happens can be directed both ways; the investors who have no faith in the project or the team responsible for building the product is negligent. A proper balance of these two can erase the bad portrayal of crowd fundings.
4634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Successful ICO projects on: July 27, 2018, 01:57:53 AM
What are the parameters to consider if a project is successful? IMO as long as they are included in the top 100 in cmc, they're successful. Some of the icos that have done so are electroneum and pundi.
4635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I increase the Telegram channel members without Airdrop on: July 24, 2018, 01:02:18 PM
I also think that using airdrop as a reward for joining in the telegram group is unfair for the real investors--misleading even. But of course, it is for the sake of popularity and marketing that I choose to turn a blind eye to it.
4636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i want to ask about bounty programs is it worthy&paying. on: July 24, 2018, 11:54:20 AM
Bounty campaign can be worth the time or not, depending on the amount of effort you exert in researching the project. Based from my own experience, I have earned a substantial amount of money here in this forum just by allotting moderate amount of my time.
4637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE on: July 20, 2018, 03:46:20 AM
Banks support this coin. Even if we deny it, they would not let it fall even if new coins with better features shows up. They will pump the crap out of this coin by printing out money to lure investors exchange their bitcoins for this coin.
4638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is better than Bitcoin? on: July 20, 2018, 03:38:53 AM
Eth can also function as a store of value, has fast tx time than bitcoin and can support smart contracts. Bitcoin on the other hand can only be used for payments, no other added function. It even performs poorly at being a currency. The only thing going for it is being the pioneer in this space.
4639  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your trading strategy? on: July 20, 2018, 02:55:49 AM
I trade one or two times a week. I still learning the ropes in trading and I try to enforce the "don't sell at a loss" and "buy when people are afraid, sell when people are greedy" mentality for the meantime. I try to avoid flash pumps as that would probably leave me at a bull trap.
4640  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who believes in HODLING? on: July 20, 2018, 02:14:57 AM
I still believe in holding the best coin like bitcoin and ethereum.  But holding a new coin is a different thing.  I am more capable of keeping the old coins.
Holding new coins could be mentally straining to do especially when you have a large portion of it from your portfolio. Though some of the early holders of new coins have become rich, it just goes to show how resolved are you and how much one is willing to lose.
