4621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transasction time and fees - What are the solutions ? on: May 23, 2017, 02:23:54 PM
There might be lot of spam attacks due to which lots of transactions are stuck. So the users have to pay huge transaction fee to get their transaction confirmed.Segwit would be the best solution to lower the transaction fee.But the miners are not ready to accept it.They dont want to loose their huge profits which they get from high transaction fee.Its the biggest issue bitcoin is facing today.Despite this issue, bitcoin price is rising high and if it is solved, definitely bitcoin price would go high in rocket speed.
I think it's that and the accelerators. Normally, if you sent a transaction with lower, but acceptable fee, like 50 sat/byte, you'd wait 2-3 days and it would go through.
Now someone coms and spams 10k transactions with 90 sat/byte and your transaction, along with thousands of others gets stuck behind a growing wall of unconfirmed transactions. Now some of the people from behind the wall will use accelerators to jump over and new senders will see the wall and adjust their fee to be above it.
As a result, you, the 50 sat guy, are fucked.

Looooool:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_conflicts_involving_the_United_Kingdom

Look at the bottom of the table, from 2000

I won't even talk about colonization here (though it could be seen as the main root of the problems) simply talking about the numerous wars you, and the whole occidental world, started in Middle East simply to get more oil and more money.

And then when you bombed entire countries, killed hundreds of thousands of people perfectly innocent, took their ressources... You say you've done nothing?

Questio of perspective. I'd say you're the real terrorist.
That's true, countries like GB have been acting like hired goons and took part in various conflicts around the world, especially in Africa and Asia, that shouldn't involve them.
While this should be publically condemned, just like the invasion of Iraq, the actions of terrorists should be condemned as well. The people who walk the streets, taking their children to school aren't responsible for the actions of the military. They can't change anything and targeting them specifically is savage. If they want to wage a war they should bomb the parliament or some military bases, not cinemas and restaurants.
4623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What (free) linux distribution for COLD storage making? (Security) on: May 23, 2017, 01:56:29 PM
The only linux i've used was ubuntu and I had no problems. The system is very stable and easy to use even if you're a complete newbie.  Setting up bootable usb drives is easy and there are tutorials online, so no problems here as well. I think that whatever system you're using, if the pc is offline you're perfectly safe. Ubuntu and debian are probably the most popular ones.
4624  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Afghan immigrant raped and killed 19-year-old girl in Germany on: May 22, 2017, 09:37:55 PM
We must understand that even because of what Muslims do not receive from Europeans and also they do with the Europeans themselves. Strangely enough, this photo shows the relations of European citizens to Muslims and especially women who wear national clothes very well.
I have trouble understanding your post, but it seems you're trying to defend them. Are you saying that they are to us like we are to them? Wake up please!
Nobody is raping migrants or killing them in the name of faith.
These clothes aren't national, these are clothes imposed by religion and culture. They are not bound to a nationality, unless Muslims are a nationality to you.
4625  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp not allowing withdrawal on: May 22, 2017, 09:33:54 PM
It is well-known that a fiat withdrawal on Bitstamp involves KYC information. They have chosen to play by the rules the governments impose, and that's perfectly OK - there are other options if you don't want that.

They have adverted that they're having a high load of support tickets (because of the rally-driven demand increase). So, have a bit of patience.
Patience? He didn't get a stupid response to his ticket for a week, that's not normal. Answering a ticket takes a couple minutes, you don't have to resolve a situation instantly to be able to give answer or assurance. If they got an increase in tickets they should make all employees including the managers sit down and deal with it instead of making people wait for so long.
4626  Economy / Speculation / Re: How MUCH will the FINAL BTC be WORTH? on: May 22, 2017, 09:11:43 PM
1,000,000$ and thats final. That will be the final price of bitcoin when no one can afford to buy 1btc at that time. If they can still buy  plenty of bitcoin it will always increase its price.
We could say it's possible if Bitcoin becomes a payment system accepted worldwide and used in every country. There are so many people in the world that there's not enough coins, They'd have to start using satoshis like cents, to be able to transact in stores and this would make Bitcoin extremely valuable. For that to happen we'll need over 50 years or so, unfortunately most of us won't live to see it.
4627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction confirmed within 20 minutes on: May 22, 2017, 09:04:18 PM
I also think you were lucky and your transaction slipped through the cracks, so to speak. Lately I had a transaction stuck for 3 days with a fee of 0.0007.
You could say my fee wasn't big enough, but it was big enough a week ago, and when I sent my transaction suddenly the number of unconfirmed ones rose and transactions with a higher fee started piling up in the mempool. Sending transactions with a moderate fee, that would allow them to confirm in 24h is starting to be very risky, because situation can change while you're waiting.
4628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining coins with FREE electricity on: May 22, 2017, 08:11:50 PM
GPUs and mine altcoins. Modern Bitcoin miners are too noisy to run in a normal office environment.
OK, i understand lets say i want to mine altcoins. ETH and LTC and XRP, can you provide me best price performance equipment? My month consumption is lets say max 150eur electricity per month. How much money can i earn with this? ROI?

Thanks

There are many decent cards and the more power efficient the card, the more expensive it is.
You could try rx 470 or 480 with about 25Mh/s on ETH. To calculate ROI you need to use a mining calculator, there are many to choose from.
Don't forget to add the cost of the whole rig (MOBO, CPU, RAM, PSU, and Cards).
4629  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Afghan immigrant raped and killed 19-year-old girl in Germany on: May 22, 2017, 07:55:04 PM
Germans wanted migrants to bring their families and culture to Europe. Now the French and German citizens are protesting against migration and every week we can read news of murders and rapes done by migrants. How do you like your multiculturalism now?
Its really scaring for many because now crimes rate going very high in last few months in both European countries I watch few videos which was worst for me what they are doing european countries need to think about this policy otherwise its going to hurt too much in near future

What did you expect when you imported all these millions of uneducated Muslim immigrants from the middle east, most of whom are perhaps seeing white women for the first time in their life? This is just a beginning.
Haha they are seeing women, but their women are disguised as mailboxes.

They are animals, that live bound by rules they don't even like, because they want to watch women and like their beauty, but they still force them to cover up. That's idiocy.
4630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is more risky. Sport or casino bets ? on: May 22, 2017, 07:52:48 PM
Sports betting is much harder to chest since you have to get the whole team in in it and thst won't be so easy. There is nothing like thst with s cheating casino. Its sad though thst we even have to worry a out these things. Games should be played for fun and if you going to bet on thst fun it should be fair too.
What? Have you ever heard of other sports like boxing or tennis. You don't have to get the whole team anywhere. Also in team sports you can also bet on single players, like who will score or how will the goalkeeper do in a team. The possibilities are endless and sports betting is much safer than playing games like dice or roulette, but it requires some knowledge and you have to use your brain to make a bet.
4631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take part in casinos' tournaments? on: May 22, 2017, 07:37:13 PM
I played in a poker tournament once, because it was really worth it. The entry fee was much smaller than the credit you were getting to play with and you didn't have to win it all to get a prize, just beat the guys at your table. It takes more time, but if you're decent and everyone at your table happen to be bad you'll win some cash.
4632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you risk 10 BTC at 80% to get a 1.2x payout? on: May 22, 2017, 07:32:16 PM
For me 10 BTC is quite a big amount of money at this price. Lets say I roll and:

A. Win. Now I got +2 BTC, which is good, but not fantastic.

B. Lose. Now I have nothing, and having nothing really sucks. Now I have to work a lot of time to get back those 8 BTC.

It's really not wise to go all in when you are in a situation when losing will hurt you much more than winning. If you have 10 000 BTC, than sure, go ahead to do some crazy highrolling, but if you are poor, than don't seek profit from gambling, because gambling is entertainment and not a source of income.
Haha you've lost 2BTC somewhere. If you're able to lose 2 BTC between the lines i'm scared to think how you're doing in gambling. Cheesy

Of course it's not worth it to risk this much on a single bet, if you want to play with big money, divide the sum into smaller bets and choose a game that allows you to cut the losses and take control. So, poker>dice.
4633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 22, 2017, 07:26:14 PM
Ok, since I'm the OP I'm gonna drop another example of some bullshit. I use mellowads as one of my banner ad providers for some of my sites. I typically wait until my balance reaches .01 BTC (currently $17.57) before I withdraw my balance. So, I had .0105 and some odd change in my account and went to withdraw. I paid a fee to mellowads of 0.00005 BTC ($0.09). I have absolutely no problem with that. So I ended up sending 0.01041323 BTC ($18.30)  to my CoinBase wallet and ended up receiving 0.009375 BTC ($16.47) which means I paid an additional $1.83 on top of my mellow ads fees somewhere along the way. Not only does neither system tell me about these fees explicitly so I know beforehand exactly how much I am going to have to pay, but that is a 10% fee and I don't even know who took it or where it went. Seriously, if people keep saying this isn't a big deal, then you are an idiot. I'm not usually one to call names, but 90% of the people chiming in on this discussion are saying the exact same thing....make large transactions only, it's not a big deal if you are buying a goddamn house, just don't expect to buy a cup of coffee with bitcoin. Oh, you are so insightful, thanks for explaining the difference between paying high fees for small transaction and low fees for higher transaction....I wasn't at all aware of that. The thing is, if you are one of those people that think this is ok, you are missing the fact that most people actually using bitcoin for purposes other than hoarding digital gold are being screwed. The people who are literally creating the bitcoin economy are the ones getting robbed. Keep telling yourself it's all ok, and we should all just be making large transactions and see where that gets us in a year when nobody can come to an agreement on how to resolve this problem and people stop fucking using it. At some point, investors and developers are going to start looking to other coins that don't have this problem. And then what do you think happens? You think Bitcoin is invincible? Well it's not. If this elephant in the room simply doesn't ever get addressed, you hoarders are going to be sorry you didn't care and the next big party is going to fly right by you while you're blinded by your shiny digital gold.

Ok rant over....
You touched a problem than people usually don't see at first and that's receiving and sending small payments. What you experienced (a 10% fee) is still nothing compared to even smaller transactions, like buying a drink, or a snack. In such case our fee (which is fixed) will take 50% or more, which starts to look like a joke. The answer people are giving is: send only big transactions. OK, so we're not using Bitcoin to buy a drink, a snack, a pack of cigarettes, but when does it become worth it if the fee is constantly rising. At the moment sending $20 with a $2 fee is borderline acceptable, so you you will no longer order a pizza, but buying clothes, jewelry, electronics is still fine. 6 months from now it might no longer be.
4634  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Unlimited Electricity = no brainer? on: May 21, 2017, 08:31:31 PM
I enquired, they don't have it in my area. Not sure which area of UK they do.

The top end fixed fee isn't much more than I pay now as we are a busy house and I have an electric car.

Fee wise it is basically a residential 240vac 100A, I think my ring main for the plugs is rated at 30A and an S9 draws about 6A.

Anyway, moot point now as I can't get that supplier. Back to pondering other options. Solar is a non starter really as I live in a grade II listed building and can't cover the roof with panels, also to run 1.5KW 24/7 you want about 6KW of panels or more to allow for dark and winter time.
If the rates are much more affordable you should go for it.
Do you have a single phase 30A connection? You can check the wires yourself, you just need to find your main breaker box with NH fuses (the ones that you can't take out by hand and need a special handle). The NH fuse rating is the real limit of your connection. For instance I have 3x32A at 220V, so I can draw 7000W on each phase x3.
4635  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Unlimited Electricity = no brainer? on: May 21, 2017, 08:22:08 PM
It's physically impossible to have unlimited electricity. Find out the amperage rating of the circuits/panel and subtract a 20% margin. That's how much you have to work with.

Well it all depends if you have tons of money really. You could buy some land and put solar panels, windmills etc. sorts of Renewable energy. Buy equipment and just mine. You need to calculate that you will need some repairs time to time. But this is not impossible if you have money!
You haven't understood. He was saying that every breaker box has it's rating based on the thickness of the wiring. This means that every single electrical equipment has its limits. If you have a 1,5 mm wire it will be 16A, for 2,5 - 25A and so on. If he gets no limits it means he can go over his normal agreement, which might be something like 12kW, but the wires won't allow him to go far beyond that.
4636  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Julian Assange defiant as Sweden drops rape investigation on: May 21, 2017, 08:09:31 PM
I think he has nothing to fear. He's been hiding for years and even this investigation in Sweden got dropped.
It's the same with His threats that he won't forgive. Nobody will fear or worry about what he's saying, because he'd publish new leaks anyway, so there's nothing more he can do.
If the investigation was orchestrated by the US, they didn't achieve much.

But the problem is, even if the case is dropped. He will still be arrested by the British. If you would remember, he even filed cases in UN, stating that he had been "arbitrarily detained" and should be allowed to walk free and compensated for his "deprivation of liberty". He won the case. But unfortunately, the ruling was not legally binding on UK that's why he will get arrested as soon as he leave the embassy.

As for the rape case, I think they just make it up so that he can be extradited to US and put on trial for releasing secret US documents.
It's stupid that they still want to arrest him for such trivial thing.
The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) said Mr Assange still faced the lesser charge of failing to surrender to a court, an offence punishable by up to a year in prison or a fine.

In many countries he would've received a letter, asking him to come to court at a given date and he wouldn't be arrested at all.
4637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Go to Land Based Casinos? on: May 21, 2017, 07:11:19 PM
Yes, I do. It's a great entertainment, much better than online gambling.
When I'm at home I can find better stuff to do than playing, so I rarely gamble. Usually just play cards to kill time, but playing at a real table with real people is a completely different experience. There's something about that casino feel that brings you in and makes you stay, especially if you know some people and don't go alone.
4638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 21, 2017, 07:03:19 PM
I think paying $1-$5 in fees is relatively acceptable, since bitcoin price is rising every single day.
I agree. I've been paying between $0.5 and $1 fee every time since I got interested in Bitcoin, but things started to suck lately. Last week I've sent a $1 fee transaction and it went relatively fine and got processed in about 12 hours. This week my transaction is stuck for over 50 hours!

Just pay $8 and it will be processed in "only" 30 minutes! Cheesy

If you pay such a large commission, bitcoin will lose its attractiveness for many people. Therefore, I very much hope that the problem of unconfirmed transactions will be resolved in the near future.
That's a cost of a large pizza! Now the question is: can I wait for 2 days for a transaction to confirm and buy a pizza or lose the opportunity of a good meal and get an instant transaction instead. I never had such dilemmas with fiat Grin
I love Bitcoin and I've earned a lot just by holding it, so I can afford paying a high fee, but what about all the newcomers, can they?

4639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power Usage for Bitcoin on: May 21, 2017, 06:59:27 PM
No need to worry. The network is spread around the world, so the typical usage increase per country for mining is not going to exceed 0.1%
Imagine that a typical facebook or google server room requires more power than a big Bitcoin mine, and nobody goes around saying that google is wasting our power and should shut down.
4640  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 15yo girl raped by 3 migrants (afghan and somali) in little austrian town on: May 21, 2017, 06:44:37 PM
In any other country, the perpetrators would have been lynched by now.
Not in a leftist country. Same things happened in Germany, Sweden, Norway and there were no lynches. The European society is too polite after living in peace for the last 60 years. People aren't worried about what might happen, we don't have safe houses, bunkers, food stacks, weapons, and aren't used to being assaulted in broad daylight, mugged and gang raped by monkeys that don't even speak our language.
