4621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Does implementing a tax on a gambling platform really help a country? on: June 15, 2021, 06:01:08 AM
I see a lot of threads here about some countries imposing a tax on gambling casinos. And each forum member has their own opinion about this type of topic.

Now I'm wondering, does implementing a tax on a gambling platform will really help a country?

- What are the pros and cons of it?
- What should be the proper tax percentage for you that they should impose.
- Will this be a bad thing for gamblers?

Also, are these governments capable of taxing online gambling casinos that we often use like stake, chips, etc...
4622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Economic Costs of Gambling on: June 14, 2021, 07:16:50 AM
Gambling addictions are one of the extremes of gambling. The thing is this doesn't happen as much as we think it does because not everyone will have the money to fund themselves to addiction. Lotteries on the other hand do our governments' a favor thru funding and taxation. So these economic setbacks you're talking about should be counteracted by these measures.

Sounds a bit off topic but, have you ever seen or heard lotto.finance? It's kinda interesting on how it works you might want to check it also though they don' t consider it as Gambling lol, even its already an obvious thing.

Checked the website and it is definitely a gamble. It is a new way of gambling that involves Defi, you don't need to predict a specific number to play but instead your wallet address is your entry. Players need to hold a particular amount of their token to be eligible in the lottery. Lotto is only held twice a week and their balance is automatically deducted as their entry if it is having a draw. There is only 1 lucky winner out of 4000 current holders so winning from their platform is almost the same as winning in a real lottery. The only difference of their platforms is you just leave their token on your wallet and pray that it will hit the jackpot.
4623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think Bitcoin is great as an asset and not as a Currency. on: June 13, 2021, 05:16:18 AM
Bitcoin is great for both situations.

It is a good asset because no one really owns it. You have the right how you will secure it properly and banks have no control of it. Also, its supply is very limited but the demand is continuously increasing over the years causing for its price to soar greatly.

It is also good as a currency for me because you can send or pay someone anytime anywhere you are. It introduces the concept of blockchain technology which would have a big impact on our future in terms of innovation.
4624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: June 13, 2021, 04:14:59 AM
Would you be able to decide which fight could be risk free that you will bet your weekly pay despite the small odd like 1.50

Even if it is a risk-free fight, betting your whole weekly salary is already a big risk. Let's say in the current NBA season, a match between LA Lakers vs Houston Rockets. Are you confident enough that LA Lakers will definitely win in that match and bet your whole weekly pay? Will you not consider the risk if Rockets win, what will you do if Lakers lose. Going all-in just because you think the winner of the match is obvious isn't good, it is still a gamble and there is still a chance for you to lose no matter how small it is.
4625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese Poker (Pusoy) - On what crypto-gambling site can I play this? on: June 12, 2021, 12:06:22 PM
No, it is not common to Chinese but it a variant of a poker and more popular in the Philippines.

And if I'm not mistaken, it is only there that this is played. It's good that SwC is offering this, however, as others have said, there is no traction amongst players because it is not well known outside of the Philippines.

On the contrary, like any other poker games and variations, it is not hard to learn the rules of this game, very simple to say the least.

https://pokercm.com/en/rules/chinese-poker/

According to the website above, Chinese Poker is quite popular in Asia not just the Philippines. Each of them has their own names for that game, Sap Sam Cheung/ in Vietnam and Luosong Pai Jiu in China. In the Philippines, it is commonly known as Pusoy.

I'm not sure if this game is offered to some popular crypto-gambling website as it's not that popular in many countries. I searched on google and swcpoker only offers it and I can't find any reviews regarding that website's credibility.

4627  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I get a loan? on: June 12, 2021, 02:37:48 AM
I'm thinking of getting a loan to buy more alts now and more as Bitcoin goes down. The loan would be from my family and interest free. If the value of my cryptos drop I'm willing and able to wait up to five years to break even.

If you can still pay the loan without putting your family's stability at risk then getting it to accumulate more crypto is not a bad choice. It looks like you have a deep pocket that you are willing to hodl for many years if your investment's value drop. It even has no interest so your debt is not that big when you get a loan. If I am in your situation, I would get that loan because mass adoption is slowly happening, bitcoin and other alts starts to stabilize at this moment from the recent dumps so 5 years is long enough to make your investment grow profit.
4628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon going to sell his BTCs? on: June 10, 2021, 01:42:04 PM
If he is going to sell his bitcoin, he won't announce it on the media before he really does. I think most personalities or whales like Elon don't sell their bitcoin directly to exchange because this will alert some reliable sources that a huge amount of bitcoin was deposited. Instead, they sell it via OTC where both parties will agree at a particular price. My friend just told me about this though I don't know how it works exactly but it makes sense because, no whale announces if or when they are selling, they will just announce it after it is already done.
4629  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Calculate profits on: June 10, 2021, 12:47:16 PM
Simplest way is to do it directly on the exchange you are using. At buy, put the price you've bought and the amount you will use in fiat or stablecoin then in sell, put your target price and the quantity of bitcoin you have when you bought at lower price. Compare the two to get your profit. This is what I've been doing to monitor my profit in trading. You don't have to compute it manually, just be careful to not tap the buy or sell button. Some exchanges have confirmations before placing an order but binance does not have it.

4630  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Elon is manipulating the market? on: June 10, 2021, 08:08:04 AM
It is more like Elon's influence can manipulate the market. He is the reason why doge pumped very high this year as well as bitcoin crash recently. Every time he tweets something that is not crypto-related, people still correlate it with crypto then it suddenly pumps. I don't know why his followers became like that, it's like they treat him as a messiah of crypto that knows what will pump next. People who are into crypto for a long time want him to be gone and stay out of crypto, his influence is not good for bitcoin in the long run.
4631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There's no lottery ticket in Bitcoin, it's a savings account on: June 10, 2021, 05:18:45 AM
It is both for me. I accumulate bitcoin for the long term as a savings thinking that its value would be huge enough like a lottery ticket prize when I retire. Bitcoin's demand is continuously growing over the years but its supply is very limited and the amount mined every halving gets difficult so its value would definitely increase in the future. People like me think that by accumulating bitcoin even if it is just a hundred thousand satoshis, we can secure the future of our generation. If 1 bitcoin reaches a 6 digit price then they would live comfortably.
4632  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 10, 2021, 04:44:15 AM
I've known freebitcoin since I learned about crypto and that is where I also found out about bitcoin faucets. Their game that time is "Bet Hi or Bet Low" only but some lucky players were able to win huge amount using only the faucet as bankroll. My friend has many referrals there that he managed to accumulate 0.008 btc from it. Way back then their faucet gives a generous amount of bitcoin because price at that time was very low. They also have a lottery where you can use the btc you get on faucet to buy tickets and have a chance to win prize.
4633  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You could die from trading. on: June 09, 2021, 02:16:12 PM
As a trader, there is a lot of ups and downs in the market, you could loose all your capital in less than a minute with just a very little analytical mistake. The importance of living healthy cannot be overstated to reduce especially the risk of stroke, hypertension or a heart attack which are all long term effect of the accumulated stress gathered from constantly monitoring the market charts, sitting for long hours and increased palpitations and heightened blood flow, which are all situations that full time traders experience.

Always try to give yourself enough time to rest, exercise and maintain a healthy diet as well a social life. All this activities help reduce stress both mentally and physically.

It is really better to maintain our health in all aspects. I don't understand why some people are abusing their body like nothing will happen to them if they continue doing it in the long run. Life is really hard and stressful but we should not abuse ourselves even if our problem is money. It would just cost us more if we are hospitalized or diagnose with some problems. If we trade, we should not put all of our money into it as trading is more of a business for me. If your balance goes negative, you will really feel stressed thinking how or if you can still recover your loss.
4634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who were the morons that bought 60k bitcoin? on: June 09, 2021, 11:52:26 AM
Even if some people bought at that price they won't lose anything as long as they have strong hands to hodl. Just like the people who bought bitcoin at $20k way back 2017, after many years of bear market it already broke that price last year and already made a new high of $65k. During bitcoin's rally, it has really been unstoppable so we can't blame those people if they bought at that price. Buying bitcoin is not just a short term-goal, it has a limited amount of supply but its demand is continuously increasing so $60k per bitcoin could still be cheap few years from now.
4635  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcointalk Market Sentiment Poll 6/8/2021 on: June 09, 2021, 10:31:35 AM
Even if all of us wants to go to moon, bitcoin is struggling these past few weeks and keeps rejecting resistance. There is not enough volume to reach $50k at this point so I'm also at the bear side even if I don't like it. Fuds few weeks ago is also a factor why the market is undecided. Small investors are scared to buy now as the price can go low as $20k based on the rumors. Some even say we are already in a bear market and crypto will pump again in few years.
4636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is playing on Pnxbet.com right now? on: June 09, 2021, 09:48:32 AM
Hello, I discover Pnxbet.com recently by watching many E-sports streamer promoting it in my country(Philippines). The problem was i already deposit and play there for more than a weeks then I discover that they scam accusation here. They are hot on the Philippines since most of the famous streamer is promoting it. Is anyone here already experience bad against them?
I thought they got some red-flags? I've seen this on some Livestream from NBA games too and I wonder why they are promoting it maybe they got paid nicely for that. Better to stay out there before it gets messy on your end.

They really have some budgets to pay influencers to promote their platform even though I always see bad reviews about it. I just visited the website and saw that they've been operating since 2019, the interface of the website is done well and they offer many type of games even esports so they are definitely earning a lot of profit from it. I'm now curious why or how are they still operating despite of these bad reviews and scam accusations that are not been addressed properly by the pnxbet management.
4637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To diversify or not to diversify... on: June 09, 2021, 08:56:39 AM
Should we just be focusing on BTC, or would we be better off diversifying (maybe Etherium?).

Ethereum is a must-buy if you have money to invest in long term. It is really better to diversify rather than focusing only on one cryptocurrency, this way you can maximize your potential profit in the long run. Some of them will be x10 now in few years, others can give you x100 if you belong to those early adopters of that coin. Just look at the price of the top coins now like BNB, ADA, and ETH few years ago, they were really cheap so people who have bought them at that time must be rich now.
4638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the epidemic have a big impact on Bitcoin? on: June 09, 2021, 06:24:57 AM
I think Covid really created a big impact on bitcoin. Since many people are just on their house and restricted to go out whenever they want, they have no choice but to just scroll on their social media on most of their time. Since bitcoin's price increased very fast these past months, many people got interested to it and thought of it as an opportunity to earn some money online. It became one of the top searched words online. Now that bitcoin's price dumped these past few weeks, I don't know if this is because of the pandemic. Some people already sold their holdings to make some cash.
4639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are Airdrops and Bounties worth the work? on: June 08, 2021, 09:52:42 AM
It depends because airdrops and bounties are like free lotteries you can join. If you're lucky it can give you huge amounts, here in my country some lucky people became a millionaire of it but that only happened after 1yr from the date he participated on that airdrop. No one knew that particular airdrop will give a huge amount, some received but only a small amount if converted to cash. If you have nothing to do, participating in these airdrop or bounties won't hurt but your effort will slowly decrease because you are not certain if you will really get something from it in the long run.
4640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Axie Infinity Thread [self moderated for spammers] on: June 08, 2021, 09:03:59 AM
Hi everyone probably some of you are aware of the blockchain game axie infinity. Its trend become so popular and click to all users. In our country there are lots of players keep coming and entering the game ecosystem not only because the game is good because it can also be a source of additional income from in game currency. All in all I am satisfied when I tried the game and will keep using those cool features especially the marketplace.

I bet this is Philippines because that is where I also live and axie really gives a lot here in terms of fiat since binance listed SLP[Smooth Love Potion], the amount we can earn from the game is almost equal or even more than the minimum monthly wage here that a regular employee can earn. What I'm scared about is it suddenly feels like it is a bubble that can pop anytime. Way back last year it is not that popular yet because slp is very cheap. Now that it is mainstream, many are looking for scholarships and people that can afford to buy axie even if they don't know anything about crypto is jumping in. Some of them starts to breed, what will happen if the majority here have their own axies and can breed their own. Will this cause a drop for axie's price as well as slp because there won't be demand for breeding.
