Man, you're sadly absolutely right. It's just a real tragedy.Do not have enough courage to tell not only his wife but even friends(I believed in it,and have invested so much. Now very sad to realize that I have made such enormous osubka. It doesn't seem fixable.

Are you using google translate?Cheesy

If you haven't sold you haven't lost anything. Bitcoin is still the same Bitcoin people were paying 20000 for and some institutional investors were buying for 30000 at the top. Nothing has changed in the protocol since then. Forget about the price for a year or 2 and come back after the halving.
4622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This why you shouldn't be worried on: December 07, 2018, 08:20:08 PM
I think that btc is the best coin which is very powerful and i m sure that it will be able to win the market. To my mind, this will happen in the upcoming year. 2019 is going to be a great year for crypto

Of course it is. If all altcoins fail it doesn't mean anything for Bitcoin. If Bitcoin crashes to 0 it will be the death of altcoins. At least in the short run. Maybe after a while people will have confidence to touch cryptocurrencies again, but all altcoin holders have to not only worry about their altcoin being successful but also about Bitcoin.
4623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS XRP REALLY A CRYPTOCURRENCY on: December 06, 2018, 09:30:28 PM
Firstly we need to define what cryptocurrency is.
In my deduction, cryptocurrency should have a mode of transmission without dependency to a single server, organization or entity and has no intermediate system to transfer between person A to B. So, yeah Ripple is a cryptocurrency for me.

You have the wrong idea of a cryptocurrency. A cryptocurrency is based on cryptographic code and has its own blockchain. Ripple has no blockchain and it isn't mined. It was made and distributed with a lot of it being held by its creators. It's the opposite of a cryptocurrency not only because it doesn't have a blockchain but also because it's centralized and managed by a company.
4624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking about sell? Or invest more? on: December 06, 2018, 09:26:04 PM
I don't think about selling, but will wait a bit to invest more. I feel that this falling will end soon, but i can be wrong.

Don't ever sell at the bottom. If you bought much higher you'll only lose both the money and an opportunity to make more money if you sell now.
There are only 2 options for smart investors when the market is crashing. You sell right when it reaches the price for which you bought, or you believe in it and hold until the next bull run.
4625  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-03] ‘Worthless’ Bitcoin Has Entered Death Spiral: Finance Professor on: December 06, 2018, 08:53:01 PM
It may be true because the market has constantly falling down and it has never been showing a good sign that it could even bounce back to 6K USD. The market price is really not good for the bitcoin holders though some are not interested in the market price movement because they had the ideology on cryptocurrency as more on its use and benefits and the earnings and profit.

You're a good example of a scared investor who can only see a month back. Never showed that it could go back to 6000? It was there a month ago! A month is nothing in the life of a tradable asset. Market isn't constantly falling down. Do you even know what that word means, because it looks like you don't.
4626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even people in here now give up on Bitcoin on: December 06, 2018, 08:47:28 PM
Who said that? Or how many people said they give up? I can see the folks worrying about its price drop but many still believe it would recover anyways.
Because it will recover. There are two ways to look at it. You can look at the price and nothing else, and this will probably tell you to sell, or you can look at the technology and if Bitcoin got worse this year. It did not. It's the same Bitcoin people were paying 4-5000 for in the most part of 2017 and the same Bitcoin that traded for 6-7000 only months ago.  If the price changes without a reason you should know it's stupid to follow the crowd and sell.
4627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things Obviously Are Not That Bad Because Whales Say So on: December 06, 2018, 07:30:57 PM
There's this huge investment company that used this bear market to become the biggest institutional holder of Bitcoin in the world. They now own 1% of all the coins in circulation and are still buying. If you're scared read about the smart money. Only people who don't have much money are selling now because for them it's to be or not to be if they lose it all. Rich people are buying because they see the opportunity and if they lose some money they'll still be rich, so it's worth the risk.
4628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the value of Bitcoin? What is bitcoin secured by? on: December 06, 2018, 07:20:02 PM
Almost all top altcoins or bitcoin that has a high volume in the market are all being controlled by the whale investors, just like what is happened into XRP a couple of weeks past, same goes with Bitcoin as well. There are lot manipulators in the market, and this things can't be gone anyway. I think it is already a part of their strategy anyway.
And you believe this is different with stocks? They are controlled by a small group of board member who together are the majority shareholders. This means that even if you were able to gather up all the other public shareholders you wouldn't be able to dictate anything or change company's policies. With Bitcoin you have the advantage because even if whales sell their stocks the technology will still be there. It will lose most of its value but it won't disappear. If the board decides to shut the company down it disappears.
4629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's The Loser Here? on: December 06, 2018, 07:15:54 PM
The only losers here are those who will sell below their cost price while those who are buying at this point will become the biggest gainers.

This is the worst thing you can do. If we were talking about a company stock and the company was having problems it would be a smart thing to do. But we're talking about a decentralized coin that isn't facing any difficulties. It's not getting banned around the world or anything like that. We're in a stage where people are selling because they are scared of the price going lower and that's the only reason why it goes lower.

4630  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-01] Bitcoin Price Nearing ‘Capitulation Moment’: IG Market Analyst on: December 06, 2018, 06:47:28 PM
It's somehow linked to the human perception of a loss. When it's about 80% down from the all time high people start seeing their chances because thee worst is already behind them. If they bui in at 80% or lower and Bitcoin doesn't disappear their chances of getting a profit are 100%. So there's no more thinking about when to buy, it's all about whether you think that this technology will mean something in 2020 or if you think that it will be dead.
4631  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happened to Lutpin? on: December 06, 2018, 05:53:36 PM
If you can log in (and sometimes even post) you can certainly post an update as well, here and there.

I have a similar opinion. It's understandable that you can be busy with life and unable to count posts and manage the campaign, but if you have access to the forum writing a short message to people who you owe money shouldn't cause a problem.

Not really, no. This is you making conslusions based on putting yourself in this scenario. I log in without 'remembering' or even knowing my password for example.

But it's still you logging in, choosing bitcointalk from your tabs, or writing the name in a browser and confirming your password.  It doesn't happen in the background while you're sleeping, or lying in a hospital bed with broken arms.
4632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even people in here now give up on Bitcoin on: December 06, 2018, 04:28:36 PM
Yes that is true. Some people here are quitting and giving up. They thought that bitcoin will be gone soon and will never comeback. But I guess it won't. It will recover again.
I think that's a natural thing. it was caused by so much price decline that occurred. even though like that, there are still many new people, or new investors coming. well, when 1 person stops, so many people will join. I think like that.

It's very good. Weak hands fold and strong hands hold.
Every bear market has to end like this where all who were thinking about selling have their backs against the wall and either crack, or say fuck it, I don't care.
This is always the moment when the price can no longer fall down and there's no more sellers. I had that fuck it attitude since we went below 5000 dollars and the lower we get the more people will react like me.
4633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUD from Large Media Outlets when BItcoin Goes Down! on: December 06, 2018, 04:23:26 PM
People like to pray on the weak. It's in our nature. Those who are spreading FUD now are trying to say "i told you so" and at the same time release the anger that grew in them when Bitcoin was going up and believers were effortlessly making money. Now it's time for all those grumpy old farts to come out of the woodwork and have their fun.
I don't care. I'm in this game for years and I don't feel like selling before we hit another ATH.
4634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100,000+ BTC moved into segwit addresses on: December 06, 2018, 04:18:05 PM
Moving to segwit is safer, many people decide to do it. I did it when Bitcoin fees went back down after that big rise in early 2018. I thought that if this were to happen again I'd lose so much on fees. It's better to go segwit while you can and not worry about the possibility of $100 fees ever again.
4635  Economy / Speculation / Re: <4000 again, what can we expect in the new year? on: December 05, 2018, 09:52:33 PM
We won't see any major improvement within the next 6 months at least. And you can be lucky if the price doesn't go below the $3000 line. Now we will need at least a year to get a decent market. Aaand decent is a subjective word. I don't expect anything so I know I won't have disappointments. Live the Bitcoin life and use it, fuck the value.

Don't be so sure. Bitcoin is so volatile that a single big thing is able to move it by thousands of dollars. If Bakkt and Vaneck ETF were accepted in December we would be at $5000 at the very least. 1000 up or down for Bitcoin is nothing. It could be at 5000 tomorrow, but it could also go to 3000 in 1 day. I expect the situation to get better by March.
4636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there no marketing for BTC? on: December 05, 2018, 09:40:56 PM
Assume that bitcoin is being advertised in on TV and it says that it's decentralized. Then what will come to the mind of people?
If bitcoin is decentralized and there is no owner, so who is paying for this advertisement?
I am sure no one will trust bitcoin. All the people will think that bitcoin is a scam.
Bitcoin should be known by people gradually in a way it is happening now.

Ever heard of something called crowdfunding? This could be the source of money for advertising. It's really not that hard for people to gather in a group and put some of their Bitcoin profits to work. Lack of advertising and central authority that you can scare into submission or put in jail is what makes Bitcoin so unique. We don't need advertising. The beauty of Bitcoin is that most people who really get to know it, begin to love it.
4637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whose advice you take when it comes to Bitcoin? on: December 05, 2018, 09:16:20 PM
I always rely on myself but there's so many great people in the Bitcoin community that when I'm in doubt I go to youtube and listen to some of the well known Bitcoin bulls. Not the TA guys, the people who are holders and used to be holders in 2011 because they knew how this invention will change the world. One of the great comparisons is that none of us had a chance to invest in the Internet in the early 70s and 80s. Bitcoin is this opportunity all over again.
4638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A different perspective on Bitcoin's price development: Logarithmic Growth on: December 05, 2018, 09:07:47 PM
I've seen this theory before and fully support it. If we stay in this channel we won't see $1000 ever again, but still could go lower than 4000. Anyway, it would still be a great progress for Bitcoin, despite what some people might think. This curve is very common among inventions that slowly gain acceptance. We shall see if Bitcoin continues to go along it in 2019, but with bakkt, etf, and halving getting closer we should expect it.
4639  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-30] The US Government Is Powerless to Block Bitcoin Addresses on: December 05, 2018, 08:57:05 PM
There will be new services that will offer to mix your coins and remove the taint.

It's not possible to mix coins to remove taint. You can spread the taint around, or add different sources of taint (they're both kind of the same thing really)

Mixers don't remove taint, they just give it to someone else. If you send coins to a mixer, you could get tainted coins in return.

I know. Carlton Banks has already said that https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5078073.msg48403911#msg48403911
We are lucky that most people are against the idea of tainted coins. I don't see it ever becoming something big like most exchanges and merchants agreeing to support taint.
4640  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happened to Lutpin? on: December 05, 2018, 08:52:10 PM
Logging in is trivial and means nothing. It doesn't mean that someone is actually reading anything or available at that time.

It means something.

  • got access to his account
  • got Internet
  • is mentally fit to remember passwords so probably could write a post
  • has time to log in and out
