While the crypto community expects more large firms to emulate Tesla’s Bitcoin purchase, JPMorgan’s strategists don't think it will happen.

Interesting development:

Does anyone get the feeling JP Morgan is inaccurate here.

The natural scenario appears to be one where most flock to BTC and crypto in the near future. If inflation rises. Prices trend upwards. And concerns about lockdowns coupled with stimulus spending mount. Employees and the private sector will naturally embrace previous metals and BTC in an effort to insulate themselves from negative effects associated with fiat devaluation, inflation and stimulus spending.

I remember a time around 10 years ago when many europeans thought the EU would fail and euro would devalue due to concerns about greece. Many in europe bought big screen TVs and other items, to retain the value of their money, expecting the euro to crash.

I would be interested to know why JP Morgan says history would not repeat itself here.

Hahahahaa, JP Morgan (Jaime Dimon) is so anti bitcoin from the beginning they have to continue down the road of denial.  What they say about crypto is completely meaningless, in fact what ever they say will happen id bet on the opposite happening.  They just pissy cause they are missing the boat.
4642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 15, 2021, 12:49:09 AM
If you're betting on tennis without the slightest idea of how the game works, you probably won't do a good job because you wouldn't even understand what you're betting on. However, if you have some basic knowledge of the game and teams, is it enough to become good at betting? If you really know the teams and follow what's happening to them (injuries and stuff like that), does it really make you good at betting?
I want to draw from my personal experience with football and predicting EPL. I have some basic knowledge about EPL and about football in general, but I'm not deep into the details. However, it seems that I've been improving at predicting how the matches would go by getting the hang of analyzing the odds, previous history of matches between the teams and recent history of matches of some teams against other strong teams. So I've been paying more attention to betting, but my knowledge of football and teams did not change much, but here's some data on how I've been making predictions on Superbru:

So from worse than average I went to top-20. Perhaps it's just luck or some random factors, and I'm not really getting better at it. What's your experience and opinion on the relation between knowing the sport and betting on it?

100%, if you are watching every game you know who is playing than you know if someone is playing through an injury might be less likely to have a breakout game.  Knowing specific players and their hot or cold streak, injuries, etc help when doing player props for sure.  The professional sports betters know in and out what is going on with every team they bet on or against.  Throwing a dart at the board isn't the best strategy Smiley
4643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 14, 2021, 11:16:20 PM
Tonight's play is a parlay with the Pelicans money line and Toronto money line.  Pelicans are losing their share but they are getting better each game.  I bet they go on a nice run at some point in the season.  And I think Toronto blows this game out but sticking on the money line just in case.
4644  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not reach $50,000 on: February 14, 2021, 11:14:21 PM
I realized that the market would be more interesting if bitcoin will not reach $50,000 at this bull run.

Just like the last bull run, bitcoin did not reach $20,000 and the price corrected hard.
So I'm thinking maybe it could happen this time and we will call it " bull run over" while watching the price dump.

What do you think ?

This bull might be a little different than the last one.  So much more bigger players are in on this one.  With that being said can we have already topped yeah could be and a retrace is in order, but then next bull we will surely see prices way higher than $50k.  No.linear line in this market so yes it is possible...I personally thing there is some play up through 60k then a nice retrace but then again I didn't call this run so who knows.
4645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: One Altcoin to invest on: February 14, 2021, 11:10:15 PM
Litecoin.  Historically speaking the price in sats is cheap and the downside is not much lower.  Its a decently safe alt ay with a lot of room for upside.  Unless you want to gamble on some quick hit that can bounce 50% one way or another..litecoin won't do that.
4646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 14, 2021, 11:08:47 PM
Knicls another solid game last night.  Their defense is surprisingly good.  And immanual quickley had another great night.  I wish thibs would give him more burn, Payton is decent but quickley is the future in that position.  Lile to see a solid 25 mins a game.
4647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 11, 2021, 05:49:35 PM
2 back to back OT games between OKC and Lakers. From the looks of it, it seems like another OT win for the Lakers. LeBron's clutch 3 pointer tied the game to bring it into overtime. Dort had a free 3 for the win, but he missed it.

In the other game, Bucks trailed by 1 with 2.5 secs to go and they decided to give the ball to Giannis outside the 3point line instead of giving it to Middleton. Giannis takes a jumper and of course, misses. I don't know why Giannis is standing outside of 3 point line in the first place and what their plan was with just 2.5 secs remaining.

Edit: Lakers win 114 - 113 OKC

That 3 pointers made by Lebron in the last minute of the 4th quarter were their key to won the game as it forced them to go to the OT to compete furthermore with the young team OKC. now they finally got the 20 wins.

Honestly, if this kind of Lakers will get to the playoff without AD, I think they won't survive the 1st round since they are having a hard time getting the lead in the earliest quarter. thankfully they keep pushing and finally won this match. I wanted to see them compete with another team without AD since these last two games were only VS OKC, if they will get another win with that, then I'll change my opinion regarding playoffs.

They might be "struggling" a little but playoffs are wayyy different than regular season.  Lakers would sweep ok city if they ever ended up meeting.

Lebron had complete garbage to work with in clevland and always made it far.  Remember lebron has never lost a first round series.  And that's riding with teams that started people like "boobie" Gibson...  all these years its the same story lebron doesn't have it, he is getting old, and then playoffs come and poof he is unstoppable.

And this is from a knick fan not a bron rider just got to give props where its due
4648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 11, 2021, 12:08:02 AM
DRose can bring intensity to the whole team once he started to spark, just like an engine when got heated he's going to bring great performance.

I'm a DRose fan but we have to accept that there's no already spark in him. He is inconsistent for several seasons now and it's understandable. Feel sad for him that he ended up being traded for several teams. If there's a spark, then he won't be considered trading at all.

Knicks just accept the trade as maybe because DSJ doesn't really fit on their chemistry. That's the problem too why he was being traded from Dallas to Knicks. He's always acted as a leader even Luka is performing better. Maybe ego because DSJ was drafted first.

If he has no spark for sure he is out on the NBA and look at his stats he contribute decently even though he have limited minutes on his plays. Also every player have a role and it's just he is not the first option in terms of offense that's why we cannot see him do well compare on his bills days and sadly those past injuries really hurt his career since by now he cannot get back on his foot to get a bigger role on his team.
Agree on what agustina2 said about those inconsistencies throughout on several seasons which we can clearly say that he doesnt already had that spark compared on what we've seen before.

Yes, he might give out some decent contribution recently but we are expecting something more than that.I dont know if injuries can really be a viable or solid reason for a certain player

to degrade that much when it comes to play or performance or just simply this is some sort of psychological issue?

The knicks scooped him up for a player riding the end of the pine and a 2nd round pick.  Coach thibs thinks very highly if d rose.  Listen he isn't mvp d rose everyone knows that.  But he is better than half the trash nba has in it right now.  Dude still balls but his knees won't let him get to the next level.  He is a nice piece off the bench you know you are getting someone who knows how to play the game and will be good in tight situations.  And his veteran leadership will be nice since the knicks are young at the position.
4649  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't be surprise to see price of btc drop this week on: February 10, 2021, 11:31:27 PM
Chart or no chart any spike this high always is followed by a dip whether little or big.  Nothing is linear in any market especially bitcoin.  I have been adverse to TA in the past because crypto TA is guesswork to some extent. (At least much more than stonks) but there is definately merit to it i guess to some degree
4650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin Ready for a Major Breakout? on: February 10, 2021, 11:29:22 PM

The Lite coin # 5 on coinmarketcap which is also called Mini BTC has not shown any impressive performance during the recent Bull run  but during the past week it surged 39% and rallied to $124. It has broken major resistance levels, more significantly it broke 62% FIB. The next major Resistance levels are at $ 131, 135, 151 and 160. As many analysts are expecting a major rally in Alts Market once BTC price stabilizes and BTC dominance Index comes down to 60% then we might see Lite coin breaking its ATH record of $375.

I think litecoin is one of the more undervalued cryptos out there.  Historically a great price based on sats to get in.  Once the masses move money around litecoin will get some love.  There is nothing flashy here and too much volume for the typical pumps on it.  But if it catches steam no reason it can't get back to .01/btc
4651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of projects that solves a real problem. on: February 10, 2021, 11:27:04 PM
Feel free to add to the list.

After a lot of research, I figured I would make a list of projects that actually solves some of the key problems we see in our daily lives. There are thousands of crypto projects out there among all the meme coins, scam coins, and dead projects that deserve to get some spotlight.

Bitcoin
The KING of crypto. First mover, store of value.

Ethereum
Smart contracts and a huge network of projects build on top of it.

Chainlink
Decentralized Oracle Network.

Basic Attention Token
Removes the middleman between advertisers and publishers

DIVI Project
"Crypto Made Easy" - Eases the entry barrier to cryptocurrencies, making it as simple to use as possible. (I.E: Send money straight from your bank account to the DIVI wallet).

Monero
Privacy, plain and simple.

These are just a few... Feel free to add your own!  Wink

Wagerr

Low cap underutilized gambling coin.  Decentralized gambling.  Offers in wallet betting against the chain.  Wins mint more coins losses get burned.  No 3rd parties to lock up your accounts, no maximum bet amount ,etc.  Truely decentralized.  Not that I condone gambling but there is a massive industry with plenty of scrupulous companies screwing their customers.  Only thing is price volatility.  So it solves and issue but there are some cons.
4652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The surprise of Dogecoin on: February 10, 2021, 11:17:49 PM
What do you think about Dogecoin which has seen huge improvements since making their newest ATH
This is one of the ancient coins which is very hot right no Shocked

Its the perfect coin for 2021.  Its now a meme society so a meme coin is perfect and this is the most recognizable of the meme coins.  Add in peoples attitudes and the latest reddit wsb outburst and this is the perfect time for doge.  Will it last probably not but doge has always been good for wild swings if you are into the volitility
4653  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the potential side effects of corporations selling fake crypto? on: February 10, 2021, 11:12:36 PM
PayPal has started selling "crypto" but they don't let you withdraw. Hence, if you think about it, they could easily only literally sell numbers on a screen rather than a math-backed, miner-verified real cryptocurrency.

I was wondering what could happen from an economical point of view if they (or any other corporation) did this and suddenly wanted to manipulate markets using false coins. What could PayPal do to BTC?

Depending on market share and depending on price per bitcoin they can do some nasty things, but I would only hurt them to want to hurt bitcoin.  If you have in fact amassed enough market share to make a dent if you did something negative it would hurt your own holdings as well as degredate your company's outlook.  But if they didn't care about these things for some reason than yeah they can hurt a lot of people
4654  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [NEW] Bitcoin Art, 'The Secret Room', Limited to 18 on: February 10, 2021, 03:57:01 AM

The heard-mind mentality is quite astonishing

Band-wagon mentality.  Truly sad as collective whole for this community.

MJ knows this.  Vizique knows this.  Yet they say nothing.

Sometimes the bandwagon-approach is more easy to choose and stepping outside of forum 'etiquette' takes courage.  Yet no one displays it here.  Truly sad, especially for a community that is based on trust, compassion, uniting, removing division from central banks, etc.

I guess since I commented im part of the heard mentality.  Never said anything before.  But when something gets caught here and had a real chance of ripping $40k ish from people...then call it what you want it SHOULD be called out by the collective whole.  I hope YOU would call some company that did the same.  Its not like we have the better business beurou to keep us a safe it.  Its us and only us on this forum that keeps everyone safe.

Since you have been a member here for awhile YOU should know how many people get scammed here.  I'm not saying its a scam but to jack art that's as close as it gets.  Especially when peddling it for the amount that it was peddled for.

For you to call out mj and vizique for not chiming in...really?  What are they supposed to say, oh cmon everyone it was an honest possible $40k mistake.  I mean really.

Its easy to lump everyone together thinking we are pitchforking...but put yourselves in the shoes of the possible buyer that was considering buying this "original art".  You would be quick to defend the person peddling it?

"No highs, no lows, only Doge"

"Dogecoin is the people’s crypto"

This guy is only playing with you and the markets. It's all fun for him, he's just trolling.

For sure he is.  But its really a bitcoin play.  People see doge and in a meme society along with peoples perception of being able to buy a bunch will be good for crypto and ultimately bitcoin.  Everything he does crypto wise is all a guise to drive bitcoin...can male some good mo ey along the way but no way is he putting sizable money long term into a meme lol
4656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 10, 2021, 12:33:52 AM
The teams I am curious about what they will do in the playoffs the most are Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks. These are really the surprising teams of this season and they are at the top places in their conference. In my opinion, Lakers and Clippers have more potential than any other team for the championship but of course it is still too early to make predictions for now. We aren't even in the half of the season and as we know there are going to be 72 games in the regular-season different than usual.

There are lots of changes as trades still open for each teams.

Things have a lots of possibilitises considering which team are capable in winning the title, Lakers and Clippers are both still the favorites as they are residing from the top 4 of the West side, Both Sixers and Jazz are on the top from East and West though not the basis to assume the title but they are also contender.

Whatever happens i hope the knicks don't dig into their pile of 1st round picks.  Anything else I'm game for the knicks but I can't go through another decade of them dumping top picks just to make a subpar team.  If anything I would mind them dumping a good pice (not randle, robinson, barret, or quickley) for some more draft capital.  Draft capital is king in future trades.
4657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 09, 2021, 06:17:00 PM
Good comeback by the Lakers who were down 11points at a point in the 4th qtr. LBJ with 28 points and Harrell taking advantage of OKC not having a strong center and got 21 points. Lebron got his triple double with 28points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.

Yeah and I'm not going to lie this is 60% lebron.  Playoff lebron is rediculous.  I domt see anyone stopping them once they get into the playoffs.  Only team id like to see them play might be the nets as they can light up the scoreboard now so they will make it entertaining.  I know the jazz looked good but playoff bron won't be stopped by them.

How about we talk on the WCF first, what do you think about the Clippers chance against the Lakers?

I'm sure Paul George would not tank again like he did in the last playoffs, different coach and some key players added to the roster, i thin they are a better team now. I like the Lebron vs Leonard match up very much, and I have a feeling that Leonard will stop Lebron and they'll be the WCF champion.

Betting against lebron is like betting against Brady at this point.  Dont think leonard will stop lebron but even if he is anthony davis is more than capable of carrying the team.  I like kawhi in the playoffs, I'm not a huge Paul George fan though.  Dont like seeing the same teams in the finals every year but lebron usually is on cruise control right now, then turns it on during the playoffs...he looks even better this year than most.
4658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 09, 2021, 01:36:38 PM
I had the mavs in a money line last night.  They were cruising along last night by 15 or so points with little time left and the Timberwolves shot their way only down 3 with 50 seconds to go.  The mavs look terrible this year, probably the last time I go with them.  Maybe hit on random over unders but definately can't rely on them.
4659  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people buying BTC @ $27000+ idiots? on: February 09, 2021, 01:34:31 PM
Could have bought it in March this year for sub $4000.

Downside risk is much greater now than it was earlier this year.

Is it the mentally challenged that are getting fleeced right now.

This thread didn't age that well eh.  In fact most of these posts don't age well.  To definitively say its a great time to buy or sell is rediculous.  All this volume and as soon as elon makes a tweet it goes up 15%.  The same can happen on the downside.  Nothing wrong with buying or selling at a particular price point depending on each person/situation it can both make sense.
