@SiNeReiNZzz: Mellowads still alive? why does it not load properly and can't login from my side? is there a new url?

They're blocked by almost every adblocker.
Correct.

Add them to your adblocker's whitelist and you should be good to go. I also could not open it and tried this and it worked.

Quote
I am sure I had tons of credit there!
One of my referrals of Mellowads itself is still active for more than 2years now and gives me referral commission off the faucet claim. I have 0.00016 in stock there already for free and running some campaigns on them. Pretty nice cycling of invested money isnt it?

4642  Other / Meta / Re: Trust System on: June 26, 2020, 07:38:35 AM
What I like to say in this system is : Feedback is common, Trust is rare.

You dont trust anybody based on their rating. Since we have a history of people who have farmed their trust with small p2p exchanges and one fine day used that big green trust wall as a leverage to scam someone. On the internet, one of the basic rules do not trust anybody unless you know them in real life closely.

Feedback is a more general term. Feedback is often left of trades, which was why this system was made for marketplace but it has gone beyond that a method of marking scammers and frauds.
4643  Economy / Lending / Re: HOW CAN I GET A LOAN FOR A BUSINESS. PAY BACK IN SIX MONTHS on: June 26, 2020, 07:35:46 AM
Blatant begging threads without anything valid should be trashed. I wonder when such rules are going to get implemented here.

Mind changing the thread title to Sentence Case? All caps is similar to shouting loud.

You will get a loan only if you provide a valid collateral. This is not a charity, its a business marketplace.

Why the visits to my link at MellowAds are so different, for example on the 10.06.2020, I have been wondering for a long time. The budget was the same every day.  Huh
They rotate the ads on different sites of their network. So it depends on how much traffic that site is getting that day as far as my understanding. Its nothing to worry or overthink, it is normal. During my first few days I used to be intrigued by seeing visits only but sad seeing no conversions. Paying mellowads to run aggressive campaigns is also a good investment but there is a plateau effect too, meaning that it is not directly proportional after a limit.

I think some kind of bug in the programming. It's not the first time either.
It not bug, because if it was then someone would have picked it up during all these years.
4645  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto's economic value is surprisingly low :'( on: June 26, 2020, 05:48:45 AM
Beside that, education and spreading out basic knowledge is just as important.
Have you tried doing this in real life? I have and it was counter productive, people wanted to know if their money is secured or not. What they dont like is that bitcoin is decentralized and they cannot accept the fact that there is no "hacker" organisation controlling it in reality. This is tough to make someone understand and added on top the negative attitude of the media has been a red flag on crypto. It will a take lot of time to change this mentality.

Quote
The more people understand it, the more people will use it.
People always trade ease of use to technology. So more understanding is irrelevant if they dont get the ease or speed.

Quote
The car also needed time to establish itself as a successor to the horse carriage, we need to give cryptos and blockchain more time
I think so too. It is growing and developing and gaining attention, slowly we will see better changes.
4646  Local / India / Re: BTC VS UPI ? on: June 25, 2020, 05:10:33 AM
This making of this thread is a joke at the most, but I appreciate the effort anyway.

UPI and Bitcoin are completely different things. UPI is an interface for fiat transfers, compare it with other payment methods like Visa, Mastercard. It has been adopted on many apps like stated above.

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency without any bank controlling it.

UPI is good for smaller volume payments, like paying the grocery shop, sending gifts to friends and family and so on. It has limits and defenitely not the way to go for buying a lambo(Pun intended) like @webtricks did Cheesy

Also the BHIM app is pretty buggy in my experience but it is still usable.
4647  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Warning! on: June 25, 2020, 05:06:49 AM
I have tried to make my near and dear ones more knowledgable about the problems of the internet being a big part of their lives now and that everyone should have a basic understand of cybercrime and how keep themselves safe specially since our country's cybercrime unit is lacking and we ourselves are the biggest factor who can prevent such incidents.

Few things regarding this was:
1. Checking email sender's address. Unknown address or accented letters = phishing.
2. Attempting to use the "Fear/Greed" intimidating tactic to blunt the vicitim's logic. Trust me, greed is enough to get control over any average Indian's mind and this need more work.
3. Not downloading any attachments from emails from unknown senders.
4. Bookmarking commonly visited sites and checking them first on search engines before visiting.

Its not enough, I know but basic for any user.
4648  Other / Meta / Re: How about restricting low rank people from opening new topics on: June 25, 2020, 05:01:22 AM
Report the thread, not the newbie. As simple as that. Multiple reports coming on the same thread creator will bring in some more restrictions and thus give the mods the warrant to ban/nuke the user.

Restricting someone from creating new threads is against what a forum is. A forum is a place for discussion and keeping aside the fact that this forum has a problem of repetitive topics which is unique to the problems of this forum, it would be a discriminatory practice for the new members who are joining.

There are bots, I agree. But the way to fight them is to report their posts. No need to engage them at all, let mods do their job and we do our part.
4649  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is there a risk in connecting the wallet to decentralized exchanges? on: June 25, 2020, 04:55:55 AM
Now I want to trade via a decentralized exchange like Binance DEX when I do the connection asks me to enter the wallet seed and then create a keystore file and keep it on my hard drive while protecting it with a password. Then I connect to DEX via keystore file.
So when you would do that the password becomes everything keeping your coins safe and someone stealing them. Of course I dont suspect Binance to steal your coins trying to bruteforce it, they are reputed and will not be trying to your coins for their profit. But there is possibilities of how they are keeping the keystore file and if that data ever gets in wrong hands, then the password becomes the only thing keeping your coins safe.

Its better to use a hardware wallet than creating a new wallet to store the coins that you wish to exchange IMO.
4650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interview with Stake.com CEO Reveals Plans for Tether Betting + New Games. on: June 24, 2020, 06:28:20 AM
Sooner or later, the gambling website will accept another stable coin at their site, so the gamblers will have more options to place the bets.
Market demand may drive them accept stablecoins. But keep in mind that stablecoins are not the same as what bitcoin was initially idolized to be. Stablecoins are centralized coins and the risk of the people running them to control the coins just like a bank. Of course altcoins acceptance had to be done due to public demand so maybe in future stablecoins too.

Quote
Maybe accepting the stable coin can attract big gamblers who have a lot of money to play on the crypto gambling website because that can give the gambler from the fiat money to try to playing gambling using the cryptocurrency besides of using the fiat money.
Maybe, still the crypto community does not like the presence of stablecoins. Crypto is about volatile assets and that is what attracted risk takers in the market. But casinos have to run on what the public demands and not what is ideal.
4651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trade & investment is getting harder and harder. on: June 24, 2020, 06:23:33 AM
Well, it's almost thesame here and i know quite a lot of traders who are finding it difficult to make decent profit during this rather difficult time.
I am seeing people call the 6k mark as "difficult times" and now 9k mark as difficult. So which mark is "easy" for you? If you keep thinking like that no price will seem fit for your buying or selling and you will waste time thinking. Those who bought at low can sell at this time if they need money at hand. Price is not going down below 9k for 2weeks now.

Quote
Well i kinda attributed it to the whole market downtrends we are currently facing, the bears is at large and trading is much profitable during bear conditions. Nonetheless, there are still some traders making it quite well but it's isn't comparable to when there is a bull market
The market is bullish now for reasons unknown to me. It would seem that the crisis wave should have continued but people are probably seeing it as an opportunity to buy more bitcoin and raising the price.

Thus it is a good time to sell if you wish to. Buy if the price drops to 8k or lower.
4652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Sometimes hunters are to be blame on: June 24, 2020, 06:19:31 AM
I guess the one who must be blame is the one who take actions. Everyone who chooses their own path is responsible for their choices so if anyone lacks research for joining a bad bounty, be responsible also for it because whatever the reason you may have, you made a wrong move.
True, but I have seen some hunters genuinely working to promote the project as if it was their own project. This type of mentality is going to hurt them severely when the project fails to deliver and cannot payout the bounties. Wiser ones have learnt from their mistakes and stopped taking part in these bounties and moved on to better and more stable modes of earning. The bounty section spam has also reduced much recently but some people are still making new account and taking part in them.

Nobody is going to judge a bounty to be bad or good because the world is like that, you need to learn to judge and face the consequences of your judgement.
4653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying food or groceries with Bitcoin on: June 23, 2020, 05:41:40 AM
There are two ways to think on this. One is the investor approach who are buying bitcoin to keep for the future in a hope to sell at big gains and another which is the common man approach where bitcoin is just a mode of payment and could be used to buy groceries. I consider the first option and thus if fiat does not become completely useless, I would rather use fiat to buy daily necessities and not waste my bitcoin for that. It does not mean that everyone has to follow on of these approaches but mix and match both.

Currently the trend is to invest in bitcoin's future speculation by buying it in short amounts every month or so during a dump which is a healthy way to grow your portfolio. However if merchants accept bitcoin in a wider basis we might see a change in the trend in the upcoming years.
4654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: So many new cryptocurrency exchange now, Are they safe to trade? on: June 23, 2020, 05:36:20 AM
But don't look for the reviews on some random websites, go to public forum and read the reviews from previous users because many websites give positive reviews for money and people also offering services to for positive reviews for good chunk of money.
Absolutely no argument there. We have seen how badly shills get hired to promote sites and it makes the marketing unhealthy but it works in pulling in a lot of new traffic and noobs to the site. It is good for the exchange but can possibly be bad for the trader. Instead using the exchange and checking whether you can trust them yourself is the better way to go. One might find an exchange very useful which another person might not be happy with.

Again the risk of scam exchanges is there but they quickly get called out and are forced to shut down, but some people get scammed.
4655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Affiliates: Carryover of Negative Revenue Share Profit on: June 23, 2020, 05:33:05 AM
Ok so I checked the sportsbet.io affliate page here https://sportsbet.io/support/affiliate-faq

and found this:
Quote
If a player wins a large amount, does the negative balance carry over to the next month?

When your player wins at our sportsbook or casino, your commission might be affected since we deduct those winnings from the earnings. However, large winnings are not likely to occur consistently for a long period of time. When the player continues playing, your commission will continue to grow.

I didnt know about this and now I can understand what the OP means. So this is probably the first time I am seeing a casino which gives commission based on the player's win or loss aka casino's loss or win, respectively.

Now if I was in the OP's place, I would stop taking part in this type of referral system, they do give 35% commission but I prefer the 5% I get from other sites and that is only wager amount based and not win/loss based.

In my opinion, OP is being ripped off with this type of deal, even though the OP has not used any money to take part in it. Would be wiser IMO to go for the other casinos which I posted in my first post here. Wink
4656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Affiliates: Carryover of Negative Revenue Share Profit on: June 22, 2020, 11:27:50 AM
I think tyz is talking about sites like Bustadice.com where you can invest in the casinos bankroll, here is a short description:
That may be the case however it would be a gross mistake to call that as affiliate profit. As far as my knowledge is, affiliate marketing is for referral commission and casino bankroll investment is a different thing. But sensibly that can be the only case where negative numbers are possible.

If this is the case, my suggestion would be to move on to cryptogames or yolodice. Considering their revenue income in the long term basis, I have seen that it does not stay negative for too long there, havent used busta so I cant comment on that. The long term value is always positive for the casino and its investors so it is good for the long term but definitely not good is still in the negative numbers
4657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Affiliates: Carryover of Negative Revenue Share Profit on: June 22, 2020, 05:46:20 AM
Can you explain what you mean by negative carryover? Is it like the casino's loss incurred due to a high roller that ends up on your plate because you were the member who referred them in the first place?

I havent seen anything like that in any of the casinos that I run affiliate campaigns on namely Primedice, Stake, cryptogames, freebitco.in. Which site are we talking about though?

But in general, all the casinos give you the referral commission from the "wager" and not the casino's profit. So even if the casino loses or the player loses, you still get your x% of the amount wagered.
4658  Economy / Economics / Re: Growing number of institutionnal investors on: June 22, 2020, 05:39:15 AM
In my opinion true institutionnal will never invest in btc. They will prefer 30 years bonds
You have any proof of the same? I am sure there are newer investors entering the market and even in institutional nature, there are more than one analyst there. Someone will have knowledge of crypto and gradually it will increase in number. So we might see a slow but steady increase in interest in bitcoin from institutional investors.

Point is that I have seen this topic come up back in 2018 and 2019, couple of thread maybe but yeah its an ongoing thing now. Considering the news and the analysis to be correct, we are getting a growing interest in crypto. However I have also seen news articles that promote buying of bonds, gold, ETFs and so on. So you cannot take a single analysis to be complete but rather you need to make sure that you keep bitcoin and you invest in the fiat markets as well. Not doing so is an illogical thing and pure stupidity. I am bullish on bitcoin but for a very long term only. Fiat will be there for the time being and you need to make sure you have its share.
4659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How long will Bounty hunters continue to be helpless? on: June 22, 2020, 05:31:29 AM
I think it's true that at least the prize is to pay for everything that has been contributed by supporters such as bounty hunters, because maybe they also don't want to disappoint their project supporters, and then give the hunters the right reward.
Your words make zero sense, mind rephrasing? Bounty hunters are not guaranteed any payment as per the terms of any bounty project, more so after the onset of scam projects and teams shutting down ongoing bounties. Its not about being "helpless" but being idiotic about what they are doing, if the hunters dont realize that they are being fooled then nobody can help them to stop wasting their time.

Weak projects will always put blames on bounty hunters for price dump on exchanges, nothing can change this fact but Its better to be more strict with new bounty campaigns, many are bad, make sure you pick better projects only or follow good bounty managers
Almost all the projects are failures from the start, I have stated this previously and I will say it again. All the ICO projects have mainstreams competitors and thus will not be able to gain an edge in the world market. The effect is that the token price reduces as people will sell but nobody buys.

-snip-
You deserve merit(s) for that. Sadly I dont have any left.  Undecided
4660  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum bitcoin wallet review 2020 on: June 21, 2020, 07:15:32 AM
Electrum is one of the oldest Bitcoin wallets. It was launched in 2011, and not much has changed since then. And we say that for the better!
It has changed, would be wrong to say not much changed. I moved to Electrum when mBHD was being shut down and had to migrate to some other wallet software.

Lets not compare with services that provide the wallet service but with additional exchange features. They are making money from that and considering Electrum owners not doing so they have my respect. Web wallets should also not be compared with Electrum, they are a different approach to storing coins, setting aside the communities dislike regarding them.

Quote
Unlike modern wallets containing countless features, links to exchanges, graphs and the like, Electrom’s clean interface is a pleasure.
Could not help but note that typo, did you write this in a hurry just to promote your site and get some traffic there? I doubt you would reply though.
