4641  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase has filled for going public on: February 25, 2021, 09:37:58 PM
This news in the eyes of institutional investors is another reason to get involved
in Bitcoin and crypto.

Because the SEC has given Coinbase a green light for this the stigma which some
financial institutions put on Bitcoin is slowly being removed and this is another
step.

We are certainly going to see more and more investment, this move helps.

4643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people buying BTC @ $27000+ idiots? on: February 24, 2021, 12:29:59 PM
Could have bought it in March this year for sub $4000.

Downside risk is much greater now than it was earlier this year.

Is it the mentally challenged that are getting fleeced right now.

This thread didn't age that well eh.  In fact most of these posts don't age well.  To definitively say its a great time to buy or sell is rediculous.  All this volume and as soon as elon makes a tweet it goes up 15%.  The same can happen on the downside.  Nothing wrong with buying or selling at a particular price point depending on each person/situation it can both make sense.

No the thread didnt age well, particularly the OP!
Make such claims is ridiculous. There is a philosophy here of "buying the dips" and
"dollar cost averaging". People are indeed free to buy and sell at any price to suit
their own needs but calling people idiots is wrong....as has been proven by this thread.

You're never an idiot to buy Bitcoin.

You're only an idiot to sell Bitcoin unnecessarily.

Regardless of the price.

Totally agree with you, bitcoin will never give you loss it just take some time to give traders an handsome profit. Those who hold bitcoin from 2018 are billionaires now so don’t doubt the potential of bitcoin you will always get profit no matter at what price you bought bitcoin.
4644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roast this Masterplan. on: February 24, 2021, 09:06:57 AM
I suppose there is no rock solid money generating plan really, legal plan that is.

Everything has a risk.

I understand the OP's quest for passive income, I think most of us are interested in that.

Personally I have Bitcoin on loan on Blockfi so that is generating interest at a rick of course.

Property is definitely a viable option depending on its location, financing it is the key,
what would be wrong with setting a target price of say $150k and buy a property outright
while still holding a bigger portion of your crypto. There would be far less pressure to have
it rented to pay a loan.

Do they have the boat and crew to really challenge the New Zealanders?

Anythings possible but its going to be mighty tough.
Team NZ have some pedigree and a lot of racing history.

4646  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bloody Crypto market. on: February 23, 2021, 07:04:25 PM
We are repeating the same thing today too when price went from $58354 down to $47400 which is only a 18.8% drop. There is still room to shake out some more weak hands and take their bitcoins at a big discount then sell it back to them at $67000+.
Yeppers.  I wonder if newbies to bitcoin realize just how volatile it can be--and I'm also wondering about the big institutional investors and what they might be thinking about an 18% drop pretty much overnight.  I have to think that they'd done their research before buying millions of dollars worth of bitcoin, but when you get a correction like this, that's a pretty big hit to the balance sheet if you're holding tons of BTC.

Me?  I'm just a bystander watching the parade ebb and flow.  If you ask me, now would be a damn good time to buy in, because I don't think bitcoin is done with its rise yet.  I don't think it's even close to the top, so dips like this are good opportunities to make even more profit.  Too bad I'm flat broke, else I'd be buying bitcoin and some of the better altcoins too.

I'm with ya Pharma! I dont have any spare FIAT to take advantage of the Bitcoin sale.

We all know that we dont lose in times like these if we just Hodl, I'm hoping the recent traunch
of institutional investors have done their homework on Bitcoin and dont develop weak hands.

Anyone around Bitcoin for a few years will be used to this, we know how it plays out ....

onwards and upwards.... with a blip here and there.
4647  Economy / Speculation / Re: One of the best times to buy would be probably be around now. on: February 23, 2021, 05:37:31 PM
There are panic sellers who listen to the wrong people.
So long as you dont sell Bitcoin you dont lose, this is a very temporary and regular
price dip which offers everyone a chance to buy Bitcoin at a sale price.
4648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crashed below $48K, is the bull market in danger? on: February 23, 2021, 07:20:16 AM
Few things at play at the moment, The futures trades will close this Friday so the people
shorting Bitcoin will want its price to drop, and hey hey it has done so.

This also coincides with a massive movement of Bitcoin by F2pool mining.

I created a post in relation to a similar event after Elon Musk tweeted his
"In retrospect it was inevitable" tweet. F2pool were monitored to have
moved 10's of 1000's of Bitcoin to seemingly counteract the effects
of that tweet.

F2pool is made up of a group of individual miners who can act independently
but its such a coincidence that its happening again, anyway it gives us an
opportunity to buy this dip!

I came across this youtube post by CryptoRUs > https://youtu.be/FpvbJ_Tokes

Quote
BITCOIN SELL-OFF EXPOSED - GUILTY PARTY REVEALED AND WE NEED TO STOP IT!!!

It is revealed that the F2pool mining sold off 14,000BTC per daym right after the
Elon Musk Twitter event. This is totally irregular compared with their regular
Bitcoin outflows.

The host George makes a very interesting theory as to why there was a massive
sell off on the days following the EM musk tweet and the consequences that tweet
had on Bitcoin Futures.

His main theory after a lot of research is that F2Pool mining possibly had Bitcoin
shorted and was able to counteract the price rise after the Tweet by selling off
such a massive amount to drive the price down triggering their short sells and then
be in a position to buy back what they sold.

I snatched this chart from cointelegraph, it shows as per the video the increased
miners outflow just as Bitcoin crossed $38,000

We have all been asked or have asked at some point "why is the price going down?"
against the logical trend, well this is a very plausable reason.

Very interesting Vid, 27minutes long.

Welcome to the forum and to Crypto.

Something to consider with a wallet or app is whether you can
control what you do with your coins, as in can you move them
off the crypto.com platform?

From this article it looks like crypto.com uses non-custodial wallets.
It also looks like they are regulated and offer quite a range of services,
Exchange, Payments via cards, credit, earn and DeFi

Started in 2016, Crypto.com has grown into a fully-fledged and well known international cryptocurrency
hub with a complete crypto ecosystem build upon its Crypto.com App, Exchange, DeFi swap, DeFi Wallet,
DeFi Earn, Crypto.com Price, staking, crypto lending, and many other services. Crypto.com works with
regulatory institutions all over the globe, and aims to bring you the most convenient way to buy, sell,
trade and spend cryptocurrencies. The Crypto.com App allows users to buy and sell bitcoin and over 80
other top cryptocurrencies with top 24 fiat currencies, make payments and offers low trading fees.
It’s non-custodial Crypto.com DeFi Wallet grants you control of your private keys.

Are you sure there is a reward for signing up?

I can confirm that the platform is up and running again although the rewards seem to
have reduced, probably because of the increase in Bitcoins value.
4652  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: February 22, 2021, 07:18:20 PM
ah FFS, this is ridiculous.

Sounds odd that XSN Coin was targeted from 1 wallet.
Smells like some funny business took place...
4653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market too big to ignore, says Nigeria SEC on: February 22, 2021, 07:15:09 PM
P2P is what the average person will use to buy Bitcoin when there is regulation in the country
but large scale investors, companies and corporations wont use P2P, they want regulation so
they know what taxes or penalties they might incur on their investments, they want a form of
green light from a government.
4654  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to sell BTC: $80K, $100K or $150K? on: February 22, 2021, 01:03:24 PM
I will only sell what I NEED to sell otherwise im in HODL mode.

We can can all pick a number that we think Bitcoin will be at but it doesnt
matter because the majority of us will HODL well past that price.

Not even $150k is the end game.
That is on you when you miss the opportunity to sell at a high price and then the next day the prices go down dramatically. I am not saying that it is bad to not sell at a high price, what I am saying is bad is when someone passes up on the opportunity. To me, $150k is not the end game too but if it ever goes past that point, I wouldn't be greedy as to wait for an eventual drop in the prices.

I will never sell Bitcoin just because it reaches a particular value, I only sell if I really need to
pay for something, otherwise its Hodl.
4655  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to sell BTC: $80K, $100K or $150K? on: February 22, 2021, 06:41:36 AM

4656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 21, 2021, 10:40:28 AM
match point for Djokovic.... and a win in 3 sets.

Far superior for sure, I really thought it would be closer but the gap between the two
players was great. Medvedev showed some great skill but mentally he couldnt deal
with the Djokovic game.
4657  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think we will see a lot of weak hands at $100K on: February 21, 2021, 10:36:13 AM
Of course there will be buyers at $100k.

Ask anyone 5 years ago if they would buy at $50k, you know what the answer would be.

There will be weak hands at such a massive milestone as $100,000 these will be either people
anticipating a massive pull back and being able to buy that big dip or people who dont believe
Bitcoins price can continue its upward trajectory.
4658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 36th America's Cup 2021 discussion on: February 21, 2021, 08:05:20 AM
...and here we have it, Luna Rossa after winning both races today are in the
America's Cup against Emirates Team New Zealand, unbelievable how Ineos
have not been able to take more wins against Luna Rossa.

In todays racing it sounds like they never looked like taking a win in either race.

Race 7 saw Luna Rossa take the win almost 2 minutes ahead of Ineos.
And in race 8 the lead was about 1 minute.
4659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 21, 2021, 07:57:52 AM
^^ Yeah, Osaka has the form and the mental patient just like Serena when she was just starting her career. And 4/4 in a Grand Slam? that's huge already in his career.

For Tsitsipas, definitely we do hope that we will come back strong after this lost. I'm expecting him to learn from this, his win from Nadal and subsequent lost to Medvedev.

Djokovic wil raise the trophy for this year, unless Medvedev played solid tennis and has the mentality of the champion.

It will be interesting to see what "antics" Djokovic gets up to when its a close match
and Medvedev is his equal or slightly better. Its going to be close.
4660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something to consider when selling your BTC... on: February 20, 2021, 09:47:31 PM
Currently Bitcoin is moving up in price fast, selling now in order to buy back at a lower
price may not work out and if there is a correction it may not arise until $70k or $80k
or more. Unless we really have to we shouldnt sell into the hands of whales who are
putting Bitcoin into long term storage
