You are being used as money mule. You receive dirty money and provide clean money for a good profit.
If you get caught, ignorance is not an excuse and you may get jailed for doing this.
10% profit should be enough to know that there is something fishy about this deal.
4662  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I lost my Bitcoins by fishing attack "update electrum 4". on: August 08, 2020, 08:05:04 PM
The hacker's address used here received more than 89 btc and certainly there are more addresses with more stolen money, just imagine the number of victims! We never heard that anyone of them succeeded to get his money back.

Sorry for your loss but if I were you, I would just forget about it and move on.
Even if the hacker gets arrested then there is not much that can be done without the addresses' private keys.

Regarding law enforcement agencies, afaik they will sell the seized bitcoins in public auctions.
4663  Other / Meta / Re: How to change signature? on: August 08, 2020, 07:18:25 PM
The funny thing is, that there is an old signature (from 2016) and I can't change it. Grin
I'll ask MODs later. Thank you all!

Newbies were allowed to wear signatures but this is no longer possible sincethe 17th of September 2018. Read the official announcement here

The weird thing is that the signature should've been removed automatically since then!
You can PM one of the admins (I don't think mods can help hete) or buy a copper membership if you really believe the signature is not relevant anymore.
4664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] - How to use different order types. on: August 07, 2020, 11:23:26 PM
...

Thank you for the detailed explanation but I have to admit that it's a bit over my head  Sad
I think I should start with the basics before jumping into this as it seems it requires a little knowledge about TA too!
Meanwhile, I'll test out few of these orders with small amounts just to better understand the difference between them.
4665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] - How to use different order types. on: August 07, 2020, 09:13:31 PM
Great guide OP. It came just in time as am planning to start day trading again and honestly had no clue what those terms meant.
I read the whole topic but still unable to grasp the meaning of most of the terms. I think i'll have to read it again.

For example, what's the difference between Stop Limit and One-Cancels-the-other and for Immediate or Cancel how long will it take before the order gets cancelled?

4668  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: القبض على قراصنة تويتر on: August 06, 2020, 11:48:20 PM

2 on: August 04, 2020, 05:09:18 PM

Quote

4671  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 'Address is not in Wallet' when I try to sign a message on: August 02, 2020, 08:46:31 PM
Since it's not a watching-only wallet then most likely you have opened the wrong wallet file not the one which was used to generate the address you want to sign with.
From the file menu click open then choose the correct wallet file.
To know if the address belongs to the open wallet, check the addresses tab as suggested by HCP or from the console, type:
Code:
ismine(address)
if it returns true then you are good to go.
4672  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: New to Electrum -- posted an offline transaction by accident... on: August 02, 2020, 07:15:56 PM
...
If this truly is the case, that's more of a bug, not a feature.
maybe my reply wasn't clear enough, sorry about that  Smiley
the transaction wasn't broadcasted in first place and I believe it's marked as pending not offline.

I saw many users complaining about this. It usually happens when they forget to add fees. Electrum will automatically save the transaction and mark it as pending.
When seeing pending next to the transaction on Electrum, most users will think it's been broadcasted and will wait for the confirmation which will never happen  Wink
4673  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: New to Electrum -- posted an offline transaction by accident... on: August 02, 2020, 06:06:27 PM
A transaction gets stuck when it's been broadcasted (has to be signed) but didn't confirm yet... generally because of low fees.
Here, the transaction is saved locally on your wallet and this doesn't prevent you from using the same UTXOs to create a new one.

It looks like this added new feature to Electrum 4.0.2 to save transactions locally and show them as pending is a little bit confusing.
4674  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is changelly trustworthy?.... Funds gone :( on: August 01, 2020, 07:40:21 PM
All of this seems to be just a missunderstanding. Most exchanges will give you a one time use address to make your deposit. They will record the first transaction id as your deposit even if not confirmed. If you do a RBF, you basically create a new transaction id and cancel the first one. Your deposit will not be credited even if the second transaction gets thousands of confirmations.
However, their reply that recovering your funds may take 20 days is what concerns me.
I know Changelly is a reputable exchange but 20 days to fix a problem caused by changing the transaction id because of RBF seems odd and very ver odd. It usually takes few minutes to fix this.
4675  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Pending vs Unconfirmed Electrum 4.0.2 on: August 01, 2020, 07:24:15 PM
To answer your question:

Unconfirmed: means it has been broadcasted and exists on mempools, most nodes can see it but it wasn't confirmed yet.
Pending: means it only exists on your wallet and hasn't been broadcasted yet. The network doesn't know about the existance of this transaction.
No other node can see it.
Either the transaction hasn't been signed or signed but hasn't been broadcasted (saved locally).
Electrum 4.0.2 added too many features and some of them may be confusing for those who are used to 3.3.8 and am one of them   Smiley
4676  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: verifying electrum doesn't work on: August 01, 2020, 06:29:29 PM
...
exactly. And there is no issue in first place to complain about or look for some entity to report it to them.
Let's make it simple, the problem here is that OP did not add Thomas V to his trust network (keyring).
So, he will see the signature of the file as valid but the signer is not someone he trusts.
This is not really an issue, just add Thomas V to your trust network (if you think you will need to verify any of his apps in the future) and every thing must be OK.
4677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bad malware could be on bitcoin wallet devices on: August 01, 2020, 05:23:22 PM
Your device can be infected by malwares not only by visiting malicious websites, it can be infected too if you connect to random public wifi, plugging in unscanned flash drives/CDs/DVDs, not updating regularly your softwares/apps.
Using a hardware wallet or saving your private keys on an air gapped device are the best ways to keep your coins safe.
You can create a watch-only wallet on other devices that you use on a regular basis.
4678  Economy / Reputation / Re: [click-bait] Should I start escrowing accounts? on: August 01, 2020, 04:00:41 PM
Theorically, it sounds like a good idea but parctically, it won't work. These kind of deals can't be made publically.
No one will buy an account knowing upfront that it will be negged and become worthless.
They prefer to take the risk of getting scammed than buying a worthless account.
Edit: most bought accounts are used to join and earn from bounty/sig campaigns, do you think reputable/professional managers will ever consider an application from a bought account!

There is another problem which is when the seller tries to recover the sold account. As an escrow, you should have guarantees that the seller will not be able to recover the account. This needs cooperation with Cryptios (accounts recovery team).
4679  Economy / Reputation / Re: This user was scammed by bitcointalk account seller (Deserve Tag?) on: July 31, 2020, 11:54:59 PM
Most if not all DTs agree that bought accounts should be red tagged.
And as the red tag serves as a warning for others not to deal with the account owner then both the bought account and the buyer's account should be tagged since they are controlled by the same person (just my opinion).
The most important here is to know the legendary account offered for sale (assuming it really exists). The other one is just a newbie with no history and probably wouldn't care about any negative feedback.
4680  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin recovery services trap - AVOID on: July 31, 2020, 11:01:39 PM
He was scammed the first time because of his greediness then scammed again because he didn't know how bitcoin works. Once your transaction has been confirmed, there is no way to reverse or cancel it.
Users must educate themselves and learn how bitcoin works before starting to use it. It's not rocket science after all.
If he knew that confirmed transactions can't be reversed he would realize that any recovery service is a scam.
