4661  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Approaching $17000 on: December 01, 2022, 02:00:16 AM
The bubble up is real. Everything pumped today as it’s starting to look like the Fed is going to pivot on their interest rate increases sooner than later. A great sign for Bitcoin. More evidence that the ultimate bottom for the year may already be in and we could even get a little Christmas rally here. With people starting to eye the end of this economic contraction and the halving, we could be leaving the worst of it.
4662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazil Has Approved Bill Recognizing Bitcoin As a Payment Method. on: November 30, 2022, 02:52:45 PM
Indeed another win for Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency ecosystem at large.

The wins are getting bigger and bigger.  It's great to see that Bitcoin is being embraced by some as we enter this global recession.  Countries jumping into the Bitcoin game while things are bottoming is a pretty good sign that the next bull run will have a lot of firepower behind it.  Things are rocky now, but once these countries are in the profit we may even see other nations taking a FOMO approach and sending Bitcoin higher than any of us think now.  Hopefully adoption continues to grow and 2025 is a magical year for Bitcoiners who had the faith to hold on.
4663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: November 30, 2022, 02:48:52 PM
A few days ago, Elon Musk responded to a friend's tweet saying that the price of BTC may increase by the end of winter.  He also asked everyone to be patient.  It means that the future of BTCL is very bright and its price will increase.  We are all waiting for this winter to end and the market to return to its previous form.  InshaAllah the price of BTC and digital currency will return to the previous room thanks

Elon has also been pretty vocal that he thinks we're headed into a dangerous recession.  I think the yield curve would tend to agree with him.  Crypto is going to have a difficult time over the next year as the Fed realizes that it's going to cause an economic collapse if it doesn't pivot and begin lowering rates.  We've seen this all play out before.  I think the Fed is hoping that inflation keeps assets high enough that we avoid cascading liquidations among the big firms, which would be the difference between now and 2008, but the Fed rarely ever gets it right.  Cash will be King shortly I feel, but once this recession is digested I think we're all hoping for another bull run.
4664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 30, 2022, 02:44:05 PM
Part of me thinks that he'll never see the inside of a jail cell.  More likely he'll get some sort of deal and have to stay in his penthouse in the Bahamas on house arrest while his 6 buddies diddle around with him.  At least that's how it would go in the US since he's greased all the right wheels.  However, FTX screwed a lot of people in a lot of different countries.  I assume one of them isn't corrupt and will go after him.  Not sure how much protection from every country the Bahamas offers, but I guess we'll soon find out.  Him not being arrested yet is a bit shocking.  I get that police are looking the other way on theft these days, but billions?
4665  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Violent protests break out at Foxconn’s ‘iPhone city’ on: November 30, 2022, 02:41:15 PM
There is no hope for them in this life. Sad but true.

I hope it isn't true.  It may start with China, but their influence on the rest of the world is growing.  They're the template for how the WEF wants other countries to be.  If their citizens don't push back and start causing real problems, this might be the future for all of us.  Anyone seeing the videos coming out of China should be terrified.  Drones everywhere, police everywhere, people running to escape public venues when a single individual turns up a positive covid test.  We're watching the Chinese fight for the future freedom of mankind in my opinion.  I hope they continue to lead the fight and stand up against these odds.
4666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 30, 2022, 02:36:07 PM
He particularly chose Black 15 for $10K on roulette which he could have won $350,000 but a friend took the $10K and replace a safer bet. I know this is likely not to happen in real life. But let's say it did. What would you do?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT4GcK6Dpkk
I was trying to look for Kevin Hart movies on Netflix so I found one. Turns out one scene is an unsatisfying win.

The first thing I would do is not blame my friend for my actions.  I don't believe any major casino would allow someone else to move your bet without your approval.  If they did, I would probably complain and try to get the money I was owed.  If I gave the OK to my friend to move the bet, then it's on me.  It could have just as easily gone the other way and then you'd be thanking your friend for the move.  I don't think I would let the chance of a game determine whether or not I was angry with my friend.  That doesn't seem logical.
4667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar World Cup Betting Tips on: November 30, 2022, 02:33:47 PM
A lot of upsets seemingly in this year's World Cup.  I'm not sure the smart gamblers have been performing too well.  Those betting on their underdog teams are probably happy though.  I think a more level global playing field is responsible as soccer is played pretty internationally these days and children have a chance to grow up playing it.  I think soccer will see more of this going forward, similar to basketball on the international scene, which could lead to some good long shot bets being realized.  Good luck all!
4668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 30, 2022, 02:31:51 PM
Paddie the Baddie has accepted Jake Paul’s terms for a fight. This will be interesting. I don’t think there’s any way this fight actually happens but the videos are hilarious to watch.

https://twitter.com/happypunchpromo/status/1597749499098976261

If this fight does actually happen then it will be a pretty good test for the both of them. Jake is quite a bit larger though and boxing is his sport, so I think Paddie would be the underdog.

Jake Paul has seemingly doubled down on this bet and has offered to send Paddie a private jet to fly him to Puerto Rico for their spar.  A bit unfortunate that they are both playing this, "come to me" game.  That's what makes me think this will never happen, but Paddie certainly could use the million dollars so I will never say never.  It might even be fun to see Paddie put on a ton of weight for a fight instead of the other way around.  Not sure this would be great for his future fighting in the UFC, but a million dollars is a lot of UFC fights...

- it helps to build bonding. We hang out. We watch the game and we have fun.

It sounds like your method of gambling that you're using with your friend has resulted in some genuine fun.  That's the best you can hope for when gambling.  Whether you win or lose, you have gotten some good memories and built a stronger relationship with someone you know.  That's great.  I figured your strategy would be something else entirely, but it seems like you've found the essence of what gambling entertainment is about.  I hope you and your friend can keep this going and no falling out ever happens over petty gambling issues.  Remember what it's really about and enjoy!

4671  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 30, 2022, 01:51:36 AM
The price is drifting upward now and the reality is setting in what just happened to FTX users. For some reason looking at the market now makes me feel like we’ve seen the bottom for the year. I’m feeling a bit regretful that I didn’t scoop up any BTC when it was in the $15Ks but still think this is a great entry price. With each passing day it feels like the worst is behind us and the start of a new cycle is here.
4672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 30, 2022, 01:45:39 AM
Woodley seems to be trying to get Jake Paul to enter into an MMA fight for a third matchup between them now. Jake has moved on, but it’s crazy that he’s getting called out by fighters now. Jake looks like he’ll be staying with boxing though and apparently has fight offers out to Tommy Fury, Nate Diaz, & Andrew Tate. I personally don’t care about Tommy Fury but the other two would probably be fun to watch.
4673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 30, 2022, 01:41:32 AM
Julius Randle is having himself quite a night as the Knicks beat down the Pistons. Looking like he might go for 50 if they leave him in, which they probably won’t since they’re currently up by 32 in the 3rd quarter.

On the TNT doubleheader things are looking pretty even so far between the Mavs and Warriors at halftime. Klay hasn’t made a shot yet which I think is why the Warriors aren’t winning. I think he’ll find his rhythm in the second half and help the Warriors get the W.

How would you feel if your governement makes a no mixer law and backdates it so that you have to explain your involvement as an advertisement service for them? and user of their service as you just admitted to.
If your government punishes you for something that wasn't illegal at the time, you have much bigger things to worry about. It would be a Human Rights violation:
Article 7 No punishment without law

1 No one shall be held guilty of any criminal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a criminal offence under national or international law at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time the criminal offence was committed.

2 This Article shall not prejudice the trial and punishment of any person for any act or omission which, at the time when it was committed, was criminal according to the general principles of law recognised by civilised nations.
This means that:
The right to no punishment without law is absolute. This means that it cannot be restricted in any way.
So to answer your question: if my government would do what you suggested, it would be time to bring out the pitchforks.

Unfortunately U.K. law does not apply to USA. It is a nice law though.

Unfortunately here in the USA we shit all over that idea.
1)Read on how USA altered time served rules after the fact.
2)Read how USA alter pedophile rules after the fact.

To give you an example of how fucked the USA is we could charge Boris (ex PM) for US tax evasion anytime we want.

3)Hard to believe but true. look it up

Not fud for 1),2),3)

 just facts

I agree with Phil. If the government wasn’t planning to backpunish people for breaking laws then why on earth is the NSA building massive datacenters and collecting unbelievable amounts of data on everyone to store forever? You really think at some point they won’t have AI going through that to try and bleed people dry in order to push their agenda?

The blockchain can be good or it can be used for evil. Chipmixer won’t save you from it being used for evil.

That 4th quarter for the Lakers was brutal last night. Adding insult to injury, the rookie that said he thought he was better than LeBron before the game ended up hitting a game winner in his eye as the buzzer expired… Not a good look for the King.

Tonight we get a couple televised games on TNT. Warriors vs Mavericks and then game 2 of the doubleheader is the Clippers vs Trailblazers. Both should be fun to watch. I think the winners will likely be the Warriors and Clippers but we’ll see.

^ Yes, a lot of games going on today. Some liaised matchups as well. Could be a good parlay opportunity. I personally like the Denver Nuggets over the Houston Rockets, the Brooklyn Nets over the Orland Magic, & the Boston Celtics over the Charlotte Hornets. Those all seem like “safe” bets although the winnings for a 3x game bet are probably lackluster. I feel like those 3 games should be prettt clear cut on who should win. Let us hope for no surprises.

*Pats self on back for hitting the parlay.

Bol Bol tonight was something else…

Did you lose money on FTX? Thank a Chipmixer advertiser today for supporting the laundering of your funds for the hacker.

Og, the $400m FTX "hack" was just the Bahamas regulator seizing assets.

And the user funds were gone since as early as June; they were lent to Alameda Research who then lost all of it on trading.

I’m aware. Who do you think the $400m belonged to? I’ll answer, it was user funds. Why do you think they used Chipmixer if everything was on the up and up? Seems like an unnecessary waste of money. If Chipmixer was so flawless, how did people know those funds were sent there anyway? Do you really think the blockchain can’t be assessed to see where those funds ended up?

I don’t agree with your line of thought that those $400m weren’t owed to customers and I still say if you lost funds on FTX, you should thank Chipmixer advertisers for supporting the theft and attempted laundering of funds owed to you.

Disclaimer: I’ve never used FTX or Chipmixer.

fake privacy
If it's fake, you would be able to point to my money right now. I'm using ChipMixer every once in a while, for comparably large amounts, such as my weekly payment. You don't know if I've spent that money, or if I'm holding, unless you're the first person to break ChipMixer. If I hadn't sent them over there, it'd be trivial to open up the spreadsheet and point to my receiving address. But, you can't.

Am I wrong somewhere? Do we understand the same privacy?

It won't and worse, it puts a target on the backs of Bitcoiners by regulators and gives them a talking point.
Notice your shift. You started with "I don't hate privacy", and now you're admitting that privacy protection is bad, because it puts us targets in the eyes of regulators. Does that imply that we shouldn't have privacy protection, regardless of whether it comes from a centralized service or from the protocol?

It implies that privacy for Bitcoin should be done without the need for a third party. If your option for privacy involves a third party, that’s money laundering, not privacy. Real privacy would be done at the protocol level for the benefit of everyone. Trustless privacy is the only privacy.

I also wouldn’t be the first to “break” Chipmixer. Read up on it. It’s not my duty to educate you and worse, you’re too stuck in defending your paycheck to see the truth.

The Golden State Warriors are smashing the Minnesota Timberwolves right now. Anthony Edwards currently has a +/- of -30. Clips of him standing in the corner doing nothing on offense are becoming more and more common. It’s pretty clear he’s unhappy in Minnesota and the Timberwolves better be careful or they’re going to lose their best prospect since Kevin Garnett. Edwards hasn’t been happy at all since the Gobert trade.
