I have not heard of such a problem.
But if I had a similar situation and the BIOS firmware and changing the operating system with drivers would not have helped me, then I would have removed the cooling of the video card and installed 2 80x80 fans instead.
I did the same on my 2070, because the fans were spinning badly, and the Authorized Service Center refused to replace it.

I just want to know if im doing the right thing, my gpu radeon 580 is running 62°C around the clock, is this a safe temp to run for 24hrs every day? It only reduce in the mid night back to 57°C but when sun is up it goes to 62°c , safe to run 24/7?
My radeon 480 gpu has been running at 65-70 degrees for 4 years. Since the chips are the same, everything should be fine with your video cards. Remember to clean the cooling system from dust every 6 months and change the thermal paste every 18 months. Use Arctic Cooling MX-4 or thermal paste with better thermal conductivity |

Is this a joke post? How do you plug in a riser in the wrong direction? Do you have a pic? Are you referring to the part that goes in the 1x slot?
there are 2 ways to do it. it had a four pin molex and he put the molex in upside down. or he plugged the 1x pcie in backwards. both are possible to do. but the card may have survived and the riser died. or the pcie slot died on the mobo. If the card was perfectly new and never used and no longer works it does not mean he killed the card. Since he never tested it and knew it to work he can say it never worked and not be lying if he wants an rma. He may have just killed off the riser and or the pcie slot and the new card came doa. It can not be sure if it happened the way I just said. For instance I have 13 amd 5500 16 amd 5600 15 amd 5700 44 good cards and 2 DOA asus dual 5700 xt So if that happened to me on 2 of 46 cards I would not be at fault and on the other 44 I would be at fault. Just saying maybe the op has legit wiggle room. The funny part is riser still works, only the connector to motherboard burns but the pcie slot and riser cable works very well, now the card isn't displaying anymore, I've tried in 5 different motherboards just to confirm but no luck Remove the cooling system from your graphics card and check all fuses with a multimeter. You may be in luck. You can try reading the technical documentation and figure out what this contact is responsible for. If the video chip is damaged as a result of a short circuit, sell the video card for spare parts. Be careful and take your time. |

220w x 4 = 880W without CPU, Mobo & Ram...
Try 3 cards and not 4 and see where it gets you!
I actually have another 850w PSU. My plan was to connect 3GPU + mobo on one psu and 4 GPU's on the second psu. I tried with just 3 (switching the Asus and EVGA) but can't get it to work unless I put one of those cards directly on the mobo.  Have you checked your farm settings? One such power supply unit of 850 watts is enough for the operation of 3 view cards 3070 It is advisable to have any hard drive or SSD for testing video cards on the Windows operating system. |

Good choice, the RTX3060ti is less power consuming and also don't have that sick high memory temp like the RTX3090 does, for those who lives in a hot country RTX3090 is a bad choice, your memory chip will die on you cos that thing gets hot over 100°C, very scary Still to this day haven't had any issues mining with my 3090s... I'm more curious about the soon to be released standard RTX 3060 (Non TI version) since these are going to have 12GB of Memory built in. Someone is offering to sell me 10x gtx1080ti here at 200$ per card, is this a good buy? Those cards are used and I'm suspecting it's been used for mining too, I mean who would buy 10x gtx1080ti for gaming or video editing ?
$ 200 is very cheap even for a broken card. 50 Mh/second this is no longer true at the current DAG file size, but you get 40-45MH depending on the choice of the power consumption mode. The seller either does not know the market prices or is a cheat. |
