Here's my current setup: PCEVGA 850w G3 Asus ROG Strix Z370-E MOBO (16GB / i5 8400) OSHiveOS Linux (latest version with latest nvidia drivers) using ethermine GPU'sZotac Twin Edge3070 EVGA 3070 XC3 3070 Asus ROG Strix OC 3070 MSI Ventus 2x OC 3070 I can only get the Zotac and the MSI to work with the risers. When I connect the Asus and EVGA cards with the risers they are not detected by HiveOS. I've tried the following: - Downloaded latest BIOS for motherboard - Ensured 4G, VtD, Gen2 are all enabled in BIOS - Downloaded latest HiveOS and Nvidia driver updates - Switched around PCIE slots Any suggestions on how I can get all four GPU's to work with the risers? I got the latest risers from www.gpurisers.com and connected via 4-pin molex.

You're a bit light on PSU.... 220w x 4 = 880W without CPU, Mobo & Ram...
Try 3 cards and not 4 and see where it gets you!

Might not have enough power with only 850w. Have you tested all the risers?

I actually have another 850w PSU. My plan was to connect 3GPU + mobo on one psu and 4 GPU's on the second psu. I tried with just 3 (switching the Asus and EVGA) but can't get it to work unless I put one of those cards directly on the mobo.

Haven't switched around the risers I used for the Asus and EVGA gpus. Will switch it around tomorrow to see.

And if you use multiple psu's make sure you use the same PSU for the riser and GPU or you can damage your gear!

You are right, I damaged my rx580 this way, I used an extra power supply to feed the 8pin connector only, it thus works very well but later I noticed that I can't display RPM, TEMP and other details through miners unless I go through msi afterburner

If you tested all GPUs - the problem in risers, that you haven`t tested. 850Wt is enough for 4*3070 downvolted GPUs if you are mining ETH or other algorithms with memory load. And if you use multiple psu's make sure you use the same PSU for the riser and GPU or you can damage your gear!
It does not matter. I use PSUs in different ways and havent seen any problems. And i even cant understand why it can become a problem.

Hmm let's see, a single RTX3070 will draw 117 watts when mining Ethereum Algorithm and you said you have 4 pieces, that's like 468-500 watts for the four gpus, 850watt power supply should be enough for this setup 🤔🤔🤔💯💯

It absolutely does matter if you are using 2 PSU's and decide to use 1 PSU on the riser and a different PSU on the Card... Zap.... That's a great way to fry your card...

You're making the assumption that he is lowering the TDP... If he isn't the 220W per card far exceeds his PSU's power limit.

I`m using 2 PSU scheme with RX5600, 1080ti, P104-100 rigs. And i connect it in the most convenient way - sometimes 1 PSU for riser and GPU, sometimes 1 PSU for risers, another for GPUs and it works fine.

One such power supply unit of 850 watts is enough for the operation of 3 view cards 3070 It is advisable to have any hard drive or SSD for testing video cards on the Windows operating system.

Grounding issues can occur resulting in damage to the card, riser or motherboard. Read about it here plus countless posts on Reddit..: https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/mining-psu-power-supply-buying-guide "Note that you must power GPU and USB riser connected to the GPU from the same PSU or risk damaging the components." https://www.thegeekpub.com/11955/using-dual-power-supplies-mining/ "On power supply two, make sure the VGA power connector and riser power both come form the same power supply. Never plug the riser into power supply one, and the GPU into power supply two." https://2miners.com/blog/build-ethereum-mining-rig-2019/. "Important: make sure you always plug the cables in so that the GPU and its riser are all powered from the same PSU!"

I see. The only problem is "If you have dual power supplies plugged into different outlets in your house, they may be on a different phasing from your breaker panel."Another posts just wrights "don`t do it!" So, if you have different outlets with different phasing it can become a problem, i agree. But i haven`t ever saw such silly decision from miners.
