4661  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is he doing in IRAQ? on: September 12, 2014, 04:27:07 PM
We have seen this movie before. America is about to get it's ass handed to it by a bunch of guys in pajamas... Again.
Honestly, how stupid can we be? We fought these guys for over a decade in Iraq before we gave up, and they just got stronger. Now I'm supposed to believe that we can do it from the air? Our foreign policy s ridiculous.
4662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No one really NEED bitcoin on: September 12, 2014, 01:48:49 PM
I guess I don't NEED them. I could just keep paying to hand over my identity each time I shop online.  Roll Eyes
4663  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 09, 2014, 05:47:45 PM
because america funds criminals like saddam hussein, gaddafi, etc and put them in positions of power, just to have a reason to invade the country later.

So this was all planed in 1978? A plan that led to an invasion 25 years later? If only our leaders had that kind of vision and forethought. It seems far more likely to me that dumb ass George Bush miscalculated his chances at getting to Iraq's oil reserves.
4664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin starting to look more and more like TULIP BULBS of 1600s on: September 09, 2014, 05:42:18 PM

Ignorance. They know nothing about it and that allows people to fill the gaps in their knowledge with whatever bias they have. It's also true that all people hear about are Islamic terrorists. Obviously the jihadists represent a very small number of Muslims.
4668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin starting to look more and more like TULIP BULBS of 1600s on: September 09, 2014, 03:27:58 PM
Are tulip bulbs the fastest, cheapest, and most secure way to pay anyone on the planet?
4669  Other / Meta / Re: theymos met personally Satoshi ? on: September 05, 2014, 07:08:40 PM
Now that you mention it, I have never seen the two of them together!!!!  Shocked

Wait, now that I mention it, I have never seen either of them at all.  Embarrassed
4670  Other / Off-topic / Re: What happens to the wicked upon death? on: September 05, 2014, 05:44:08 PM
It would be great if the wicked were punished and the good rewarded after death. Unfortunately there is no evidence of anything except oblivion for us all. That's why I'm for punishing and rewarding behavior in this life.
4671  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS Threatens Putin/Russia on: September 05, 2014, 05:36:01 PM
The US and Russia may not be best friends, but I welcome Russia's sentiments and wish more countries would follow suit to put an end to ISIS and middle eastern terror groups once and for all.

I agree with you.
In order to stop ISIS, the most dangerous terrorist group in history, everybody should work together, friends and enemies, USA, NATO, EU; Russia and even Iran.

i think its time for all the superpowers to come together.
I would like to see this happen also, but can it?
Prior to 9/11 Al Qaeda never put more than ten thousand fighters through their base camps. Then we stupidly took the bait and decided to "beat" them. Now its like 12 years later and we face 100 thousand fighters in the IS splinter group alone. The jihadists hold territory in north Africa, Indonesia, the middle east, Nigeria, The Sahel, central Asia, etc. They are stronger than ever and, IMO, it is no longer correct to refer to them all as terrorists. This is a global movement phenomenon.  I'm not convinced we can beat them via fighting.

4672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Predictions : Mining of new bitcoins stops tommorow on: September 05, 2014, 04:23:42 PM
If you all did that... I would become the mining king with my Commodore 64. Greed is what keeps this from happening.
4673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who actually spend bitcoins ? and for what ? on: September 05, 2014, 04:21:39 PM
It is the only thing I now use to buy on the internet. If someone had a really great deal on something I need I might hold my nose and use a debit card, but mostly that is a thing of the past for me.
I don't understand how people "get" bitcoin unless they are using it. Online transactions are what bitcoins do better. I suppose some people collect cool cars and never drive them also, but what fun is that?
4674  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we give respect to Rich and no-respect to poor? on: September 04, 2014, 07:12:48 PM
It seems to me that if you respect people based on the money they have, you don't understand the value of anything. Some of the kindest, smartest people I know are poor. Well, money poor. I think they are rich beyond measure.
4675  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS Threatens Putin/Russia on: September 04, 2014, 07:08:22 PM
Like they don't have enough enemies.  Roll Eyes
4676  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 9 year old girl kills bloke stone dead with full auto machine gun on: September 04, 2014, 05:56:09 PM
Most of the people in this thread would have done a better job than her instructor. She should have been mastering a .22 rifle at her age. The problem with hand guns is that a small movement of the wrist is all it takes to shoot the guy next to you. Add to that the fact that when some people panic they squeeze the trigger harder and you are going to have accidents.
Also a lot has been made about it being an UZI. A full sized UZI would have been better, but those UZI pistols are dangerous and kinda stupid. The picture below is of an UZI pistol. Several companies now make them.

I hope they don't get it all wrong. I've learned that being an economics professor in no way prepares you for explaining bitcoin.
4678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here - Bitcoin Wallet question on: September 04, 2014, 01:54:16 PM
Kakmakr, your doing it right!
Online wallets are very convenient, but they do require trusting the wallet operator.  My formula for the online balance I keep on my smart phone is that the balance should not exceed the value of the phone. Larger amounts should be kept offline in a wallet on a USB stick, or a paper wallet.
4679  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin sticker on an AR15 at the National Match shooting competition on: September 04, 2014, 01:47:18 PM
Camp Perry it is! My wallet only lets me shoot service rifle, so no F class for me for a while. Tongue
I guess its what you buy first? I blew all my money on an F class rifle, now I can't afford a service rifle. lol

Although I did see this one at gunbroker. For sale in bitcoins of course.
