4661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is recovering, what steps are you taking? on: July 29, 2021, 06:34:17 PM
Market now starting to improve and already hitted again $40k Bitcoin price , I already think that when bitcoin would again hitted $50k then I would sell half of my Bitcoin and some altcoins. But I don't sell my researved Binance coin.
Just hope that Bitcoin can be at a price of $50K in the near future, because when Bitcoin is at a price of $50K, Altcoins will also experience a good price increase even though it will not come close to the ATH price that has been achieved before.

Just because we "hitted" A doesn't mean we're going to "hitted" B. I'm happy we're staying near 40k, but we need to spend a full week ABOVE it to seriously look at next steps and it's very uncertain if this will happen.

I'm still going to sell what I need this month, no more no less than usual. Just hope it doesn't crash badly tomorrow;) *CME futures*
4662  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC broke through 33,500 USDT on: July 29, 2021, 06:00:52 PM
Nah, no way. I said yesterday even if it's true, this kind of news shouldn't affect the market because it actually does nothing for Bitcoin adoption. Doesn't create more users, just maybe makes a few more transactions possible from Bitcoin users that already exist.

Plus now Amazon itself has denied the story is true, so it's definitely not that.
However I have to say that if amazon actually accepted it, they would create a bit more interest towards crypto, why? Because you can buy many things from amazon that could be good for your daily life as well, not just some ebay type of place.

Maybe, maybe not. But you know, Microsoft once opened up Bitcoin (years ago). They didn't get any sales. And in many countries now you have food deliveries that can be paid in Bitcoin (I believe the JustEat gang in Europe has this), but ask all these defi users and altcoin holders and Bitcoin speculators if they ever actually paid for anything in BTC? No they just "HODL the stacks".

But okay, I agree. If it had been true, it would be bigger. Which is why I said if it were real BTC usage, plus censorship removal, then it'd be big.
4663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Staking Platform on: July 29, 2021, 04:59:17 PM
I've been keeping an eye on Nexo ever since this thread started, and I actually went ahead with Nexo (you might remember it, as you responded here).

Nexo still haven't won me over BUT they do seem the best of the worst (custodial being the bad thing here). They've increased their insurance, displayed all their licenses and apparently are working on a proof-of-reserves solution that any client can access in real time.

I will update the thread there shortly now that I'm reminded, there's been quite a bit going on with them since then to improve their offering (bigger insurance, more licenses, proof of reserves) Wink

Ah ha okey, thanks, I do remember this thread:) And yes even I looked into NEXO at the time but I also felt the insurance was much too low. Now the funny thing is they're operating in Europe and US and even in UK (which I mention because of the Brexit thing). But now that I checked your update and saw myself the list of licenses they put out, why aren't any in European Union? Isn't that illegal then?
4664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason I got into bitcoin on: July 29, 2021, 04:28:54 PM
My original reason for joining bitcoin is to earn money to have a fuller life, can buy a house, buy a car but my capital is not enough to do that, I want to use my money to invest or what can be profitable and fortunately i know bitcoin through friends, after a while i feel bitcoin market is very good to invest and i started to invest, now i have made a lot of money from this investment.

Geez, that sounds like the list of reasons anyone would have said when they got into an MLM on Ponzi. No offence, but I guess I know why people are complaining on reddit or forums when they say people look at them funny when they talk about why/how they got into Bitcoin:)

Nothing wrong with that of course, I also have similar dreams. But that's not really how I got into it. I wanted to gamble;)
4665  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Staking Platform on: July 29, 2021, 07:26:51 AM
BlockFi seems to be the platform with more reputation. But since the recent news we're getting with back to back regulatory issues, I wouldn't recommend it or any staking platform in general (I wasn't really a fan of any of em in the first place).

Personally, I'm happy with just holding my bitcoin on my non-custodial wallet and simply just waiting for the price to appreciate.

I think Blockfi got some guys criticizing it because it didn't want to show proof of reserves, plus had no insurance (this was sometime last year though don't know if they got it today). It is the preferred platform of big media influencers though.

Nexo on the other hand seems to have Bitgo/Lloyds insurance, but I think it was really low like $100 million, which obviously seems to me that if it goes down, people only get back a fraction of their deposits:)
4666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BUSTaBNB |fully immersive iGaming and DeFi platform built on Binance Smart Chain on: July 29, 2021, 07:05:23 AM
So this is supposed to be Bustadice but using BNB and built on BSC huh? Could be interesting for those already into Defi and all that staking nonsense:P

I might take a look, been looking for places to go into investor bankroll other than Bitvest, and I'm so not keen on defi but maybe a good idea for this kind of trial.
4667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu vs. Dogecoin. Who is the Lead Dog of the Pack? on: July 28, 2021, 06:11:28 PM
Neither of them can guarantee, for now, all back to The King BTC . And you're still busy with shitcoins it's clear they've seen what it's doing to the market. SHIBA and DOGE only destroy market conditions. Taking advantage of influencers and investors to attract a large number of fans, after that, being framed for exile, do you still want to stick with the whole charade?

I suppose it's not clear for most people. I mean, I'm still seeing people getting super excited on memecoins and nfts that are practically clones with just "Inu" or some other variation tagged to it.

DOGE I still think is OK (minus the manipulation). I mean it still taught me and others about wallets, for example.
4668  Other / Archival / Re: Amazon news is a banal market manipulation on: July 28, 2021, 04:54:52 PM
The squeeze is really devastating, with a lot of liquidations.

Nah. Come on. BTC went from 30 to 40k and then dropped to 36k where it seems to be holding steady. That to me is devastating for the bears who've been trying for so long to keep things below 30k and then BTC went and touched 40k again in the past 24 hours. It didn't last but it's a big sign that the buyers aren't giving up any time soon.

That's the result of short term manipulation and for me its really good to see thay happens since its a fear killer and for sure many traders are now confident that we cannot see more deeper figures as bitcoin went to that figures. Although the price didn't go far as we think but this is really a big sign that there are more great things will happen in future.

Yeah I'm not a fan of manipulation but can't deny that's happening everywhere and it's what makes the market so exciting for those who like the short-term volatility. But, again, yesterday had nothing to do with a devastating squeeze and the fact that we're back up today, in fact, looking stronger than yesterday's reactions, proves that:)
4669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: the next bubble? NFT! on: July 28, 2021, 04:20:16 PM
I think PYR could be the next bubble. The price isn't really high right now and i think the price will rise very soon, i see the main telegram on Vulcan Forged the admin said PYR will rise $10 in the end of this month, i don't know why the admin is very confidence saying like that.
Lol, you didn't find out about them.  NFT game genres in Vulcan are very diverse, the most favorite is still Build, Play, Stake, 20m$ for P2E is a very attractive reward for creative gamers, it is an extremely hot genre today.  and the future.  They released the Beta and when they run the Final after, P2E... I'm sure the price will go up very quickly, not just $10.
They have a strong, real user base.  As an army, I'm not a fan of games but their 3D quadrant graphics are amazing!

I really, really have to check out what you guys are talking about. I know NFT hype is crap but gaming hype lives forever, doesn't it?

Now the real question here is, if you DO NOT have a good gaming PC, in fact, you have a very low end PC built mainly for work and ok has an integrated graphics card, could you still play this socalled game as well as others and earn?
4670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: July 28, 2021, 03:10:18 PM
Champions League qualification game again for us again! Can they serve us a historic back to back Soccer Blackjack win? We've also never had a bust directly after a win, so I guess we make history if we can score 21 points or more;)

Any odds on that to happen?Wink

4671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin vs binance Coin on: July 28, 2021, 02:17:35 PM
Nope i think. Because litecoin is quitely old coin and the development and the marketing strategy of this coin is slower compared to BNB. BNB age is under 5 years but the hype and the community is going crazy. i'm sure it also backed up from whales from china and become the biggest exchange right now. Many features launched such as futures and margin trade which is really big right now. So if there will be more exciting features from binance in the future, it will more become popular and no chance litecoin will overtake it.

Litecoin has no marketing strategy. Its own creator gave it up, or rather, gave up all his holdings also precisely so that the wouldn't be able to influence the price with any kind of marketing. All he does is continue to part time develop it.

You can't compare marketing for a decentralized coin like LTC to a pure company loyalty point like BNB man. By default decentralized coins have no marketing.
4672  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help with trading on: July 28, 2021, 01:23:28 PM
Over confidence that's what went wrong. You did so well in the other trade that you felt like a professional and decided to take more risk for higher returns which backfired. You only picked that coins because of its price that's what I understood from your words. Glad you understand you made a mistake and now seeking solutions, that's a great step as many don't realized this until it's late. I'll advice you go back to the drawing board to see what went wrong.

I'd like to echo in on this. Brainboss is right. What went wrong is you got lucky, but you failed to recognize that and thought you were actually pretty good at trading. Common mistake most "traders" made when they decided to get in on the business. Crypto speculators in 2017 and in 2020/21 would have made easy killings on most coins and new defi hype shitcoins. Why? Because you can do 2x in crypto easily during a bull run.

The true test is to consistently make money in any market condition. Which is what most people can't.

You're a trader if you can.
4673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still the favorite choice on: July 28, 2021, 01:02:32 PM
I think you're not the only one who dares to say that bitcoin is the favorite choice, I'm sure all of us must admit that bitcoin is our favorite choice, because bitcoin has been proven to give us freedom in all fields, and which certainly has helped us make our finances so it's better, even though the current price is not good, but bitcoin is still everyone's first choice..

Duh he's not the only one but no, not all of us chooses Bitcoin as their top dog. You probably haven't met certain people like Bitcoin Cash creator who insists Bitcoin is shit and he made the "original BTC", but then after that even his supporters tired out of him and kicked him off to do his own Bitcoin SV thing.

Bitcoin is best, but some people have a strong deniability.
4674  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sportsbet.io - Main sponsor of Southampton FC on: July 28, 2021, 12:02:15 PM
I think Crypto Derby is the best, the simplest, and it makes sense to anyone who hears it (but aha yeah it doesn't quite capture as Trofo says the sportsbetting aspect).

I would also note there is also a tiny element of "past love" as Watford was an ex of SB;) But maybe it would be difficult for polyamory of shirt sponsors, so imagine taking your new spouse to the next fight and seeing your ex with someone else. Is this stupid to think of when creating the derby rivalry?Wink
4675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is recovering, what steps are you taking? on: July 28, 2021, 11:32:05 AM
So who among here took any of the steps recommended, and then panicked a little bit when Bitcoin dropped back to 36k as soon as it tried (and failed) to make 40k?

It's just gone and hit 40k again today though and this time the bounce didn't happen as badly. Could this be it finally? Too soon to crack a smile and some beers?
4676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: July 28, 2021, 11:01:12 AM
Happiness is a lousy midweek day at work so far but knowing at the back of your head you won a 21x bet at 2mbtc wager. Of course, I never tell friends at work any time I win big, otherwise it is all over for me;)

3rd Blackjack and our slates are wiped clean, so happy! I'm like Trofo, can feel the next one coming soon;)
4677  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC broke through 33,500 USDT on: July 28, 2021, 05:56:10 AM
That's part of the market specially when Manipulators are prospecting another bagging, but maybe this is from the News that Amazon might accept bitcoin as payment?

Nah, no way. I said yesterday even if it's true, this kind of news shouldn't affect the market because it actually does nothing for Bitcoin adoption. Doesn't create more users, just maybe makes a few more transactions possible from Bitcoin users that already exist.

Plus now Amazon itself has denied the story is true, so it's definitely not that.
4678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Bitcoin Poll on: July 28, 2021, 05:24:24 AM
I'm wrong how?

Most of the influential companies don't really accept payment to something that will undergoes another process before conversion to cash

This is what I was referring to when I said you're wrong. You said Most companies don't accept payment that undergoes another process before cash conversion.

But Bitpay is the most used Bitcoin payment processor for merchants online. It converts BTC customers pay to fiat and gives that fiat to merchants. In fact, most Bitcoin payment processors work like this. Very few companies have actual Bitcoin wallets.

4680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FINU (Fire Inu) on: July 27, 2021, 02:50:32 PM
-snip-
Everyone is free to do their own things for sure but if we continue to idolize these guys, then the mainstream sees only that and it does hurt the positive aspects by making them invisible.
The problem that arises from these manipulations (hypes, ...) is that people are deprived of their money. As a result, regulators become active (financial market supervisory authorities, ...) who feel the urgent need to protect these people -> this requires regulations that are ultimately detrimental to the entire market (KYC obligations, ...).

So such projects and personalities, who hype fun projects senselessly, not only harm the people they take money out of their pockets, but all people in the crypto environment.

Deprivation of money, yes. Although people have to understand that in crypto, to get independent money and "freedom" that is promised by crypto, they also have to take more responsibility for themselves. And maybe everyone needs to get bitten once or twice to truly learn that lesson. Sadly, many people ignore the "invest what you can afford to lose" advice and it's difficult to climb out of holes.

And then they turn to authorities to try get their money back, which leads to regulator interest as you say.

And again I say this is why we do have to push to educate and to support projects that actually do want to continue develop and grow the ideals of blockchain and crypto, and not just focus on profit and hype and money. But every time we RT a meme, and laugh and say wow and give these memecoins and hypecoins space and time, we harm ourselves too:)

Anyway. The best we can do is to talk well about Bitcoin and to DO well. We always say hodl but we also forget to say USE:)
