4681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: METAMASK TOKEN BIGGEST AIRDROP EVER! on: November 15, 2022, 09:11:10 PM
I heard that The existence of Metamask token has been verified by Joe Lubin, the founder of Consensys, the company that owns Metamask..

We'll see...  People have been discussing this for a long long time.  The big problem for me is how would they know who has even used Metamask vs other wallets?  That leads to them likely airdropping their tokens to users who have used their token swap function, which I doubt many people even use because there are better options available.  This likely means that people who are playing games to get more airdropped tokens likely will, and the rest of the metamask users will be left in the cold wondering why they've supported a wallet for years who just skipped over them with their airdrop.  Maybe they have better methods of identifying users that I'm not aware of, but I think this is going to be a disaster and more of their users will be pissed off they got skipped for the airdrop than users who are happy with what they received.
4682  Other / Politics & Society / Re: can Russia and Ukraine reconcile? on: November 15, 2022, 09:08:25 PM
The war may intensify before peace is reached, but there is honestly no other option.  They are neighbors and neither of them appear to be going anywhere.  The dispute isn't going to end one of them and is more likely going to be solved with an agreement about their behaviors and borders.  Otherwise the fighting will just continue.  I doubt one of them is just going to give up the fight.  It's possible that finances or leadership issues may bring a ceasefire, but at the end of the day I think the people want peace and at some point in time they will get it.  It's just a matter of how much more damage has to be done before both sides agree that fighting is not in their best interests.
4683  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 15, 2022, 09:04:59 PM
It seems like November started off with a bang, although not the bang people were hoping for.  I am seeing pretty much what I expected for the month, although in less magnificent fashion.  The worst is probably behind us as far as drops for the month.  Sure, we might fall a little lower over the next 6 months or so, but I feel like unless you're going all in at one time, this is a good time to be buying.  Don't let the people who bought at $50K scare you out of the market with them rage quitting now.  Instead, see those people as the indicators they are and do the opposite of what they do.  Most of the time people will find this is a great way to get money as a contrarian, which is usually the right call when dealing with financial markets.
4684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Black Friday Online Casino Bonuses 2022 on: November 15, 2022, 09:01:11 PM
It's that time of the year where business get ready to do the Black Friday deals with their product and services. Online casinos are not left out too. on Friday, Nov 26th, which is Black Friday, most casinos will offer he match bonuses, some signup bonuses, free chips, and of course free spins. So if you happen to be someone who wants to get the most value for your deposits and wagers, the 26th of November could be the day that you’ve been waiting for. Suppose your favorite online casinos don't offer any Black Friday bonuses, would you try other casinos that do or stay loyal to them?

Bonuses don't play much of a role in my decision to gamble, so ultimately I will go to place bets where I feel my money is safest from scams or other fishy behavior.  Sure, it's nice to get a bonus, but I'm a bit too cynical to think that casinos are offering them out of the goodness of their hearts.  More likely it's just another way to advertise for them and I'm sure this section of the forum will be flooded with various Black Friday offers.  However, I would say to pay attention to which sites are the most trusted, instead of looking at who has the shiniest lights outside of their building to attract customers...  A lot of the time it's the users who end up paying for these various bonuses in the end as nothing is free to develop and implement.  More important to me is knowing my money is safe.
4685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: November 15, 2022, 08:58:25 PM
There is still no 100% evidence that Niemann actually cheated. It may not be necessary to get caught in the red, but the accusation based on computer analysis alone is not watertight enough. People also have to wonder how it could be possible that he cheated? A video shows that an arbitrator scans metal detector Niemann with one hand, and that nothing was found. That means 100% that he had no electronics with him at the time this happened. How could he have cheated? Online cheating may have happened since you don't work with metal detectors there.

Who knows how exactly he cheated, but I think everyone is somewhat aware it happened.  Anyone who's seen the movie Godfather knows that he probably excused himself to the bathroom where there was obviously a string of anal beads that he inserted into himself...  At least that's what my limited knowledge of the situation and instant judgement leads me to.  I would think if the rumors or allegations weren't true, we'd be hearing from the man himself that they aren't true.  Maybe it's just the media sensationalizing everything and I took it hook line and sinker, but I'm sure I would've seen some sort of honest denial of the event if it happened (the denial).  If it isn't true, someone had one hell of an imagination to come up with this.
4686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cristiano Ronaldo partners with Binance on: November 15, 2022, 08:54:43 PM
I worry a bit that Binance is following in FTX's footsteps a little.  The only real difference between the two operations is that Binance was successful with BNB where FTX got a little overzealous and wasn't able to keep their FTT token propped up.  I hope that Binance isn't having a slow motion replay of FTX with sponsorships like this (I hear Tom Brady is free) and while Binance seems too big to fail at the moment, there were certainly people who had that opinion of FTX a week ago...  Be careful.  Just remember what exchanges do, how they should be utilized, and don't trust anyone.  This catastrophe for the market isn't over yet, and it's highly likely that there will be more failures ahead.  Don't get comfortable.
4687  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: November 15, 2022, 08:51:21 PM
Hi Stunna

It happened that i discovered it was possible to copy bet from other gamblers on stake, i tried this a couple of times, that is copy bet from other gamblers, and on the first day, i copied a multi bet of 4 and actually won, how lucky  Grin.
I returned the next day to stake and did same thing but this time, i lost ...how sad  Cry but i guess it is what it is.

So after my experience with this feature, I made this POST about it,
And from the comments I got, I discovered that this is a feature that can actually be upgraded and turned into another source of income for the casino as well as some of the players.
After analyzing the whole thing, i decided the make this POST as a suggestion to the casinos around.

I love Stake and maybe you guys can look into my idea and see how feasible such a feature is to implement, i am waiting to be the first to use it  Grin

Please pass this to the upper chamber if ok by you, or just ignore, all cool.
thanks.

I'm not sure if casinos want to start telling their users how to bet.  At best it loses them money, at worst it loses them their reputation as bettors begin to blame the casino for their losses...  This seems more like the sort of thing you'd want to see in a paid group, where one self proclaimed gambler tells you who is going to win and what to bet on.  I'm sure there are even plenty of threads around here offering such a thing.  However, I think you'd be better off investing your money than gambling if you are letting other people make the picks for you.  I would personally struggle to get any enjoyment out of that.  However, to each their own and I wish you great luck in beating the odds and making some money shadowing other people's picks.
4688  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: November 15, 2022, 08:48:16 PM
Crypto is such a good match for gambling online, but it seems like casinos only use crypto as a means of bringing in more money from users who want to gamble with crypto and rarely use the properties that crypto has to enrich the experience for users.  By this I mean many casinos don't use crypto as a means for proving that their games are honest "provably honest" or to show their reserves against user balances.  I think if casinos published some sort of method of proving that their reserves are greater than their customer balances, that would be a big step forward.  I also think that using crypto to prove that your games are fair should be a prerequisite for anyone looking to gamble in crypto, although I rarely see any casinos doing either of these things.
4689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bought 8000 lottery tickets on: November 15, 2022, 08:43:55 PM
I like the OP way of thinking, more tickets means more chances of winning. Nevertheless, as others pointed out, the odds are still slim even if you both like 8000 tickets.

And so that chances of you getting hit by a lightning if I'm not mistaken is higher than winning the lottery.

But I guess the OP is a risk taker so it's hard to argue with that in his mind. So best of luck.

You sort of hit the nail on the head that OP must be a risk taker.  He/She must enjoy taking these sorts of risks because obviously buying lottery tickets is never a smart financial move.  In the USA, lottery tickets fund the school system, which I think is actually a perfect match considering I've long thought that lotteries were a tax on people who were bad at math.  These people who are terrible at math funding our school system to teach people basic math skills is great.  So I guess my question to the OP or anyone else with knowledge of this lottery is...  Where do the proceeds go for this 'bad at math' tax?  Are charities being funded?  Maybe some sort of community give back program?  Hopefully it's something worthwhile...
4690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 15, 2022, 08:27:43 PM
I know it's easy to get carried away, but Izzy actually had a lot of success on the night. He was moving well, and picking his shots. It wasn't like Alex didn't try to engage like that multiple times, but Izzy was rolling with it. There might be something to that hurt leg of Izzy. It might have prevented him from actually getting out of the pocket.

I think it's a little unfair to be dogging on Izzy just because he basically got knocked out once again. However, he did very well for much of the night. Most people seem to have him up 3-1, including myself. Now, I'm trying to take anything away from Alex, he fully deserved that win. It's just I'm not sure why Izzy is getting so much hate, and people are ignoring how good of a job he was doing up until that point.

I think people expected to see growth from his former fight with Alex.  Unfortunately, it seems like Alex may have Izzy's number.  While Izzy is talking about making this a trilogy, I think most other people including Alex already feel he won two fights and that is good enough.  Rumors now that Alex is retiring from fighting, which will leave Izzy with a stain on his career.  I honestly think it's best for Izzy if they don't meet again.  Alex seems to have his number and another loss to him would make Izzy look like his fighting days are best left behind him.  A shame because there was so much hype but money talks so maybe another fight is in the future between Izzy/Alex.
4691  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sanitize the Gambling Board. on: November 15, 2022, 05:27:34 PM
As what I can understand in your point is that you want people to post a thread that is not an announcement thread in the gambling discussion and the gambling board should only be used to post only ann threads. If that's your point in this post then this thread of yours should also be in gambling discussion and not here which means you also post a thread here that isn't an ann thread.

This is a good point and a hilarious way to show the OP that he’s guilty of doing exactly what he’s complaining about. Granted it’s a topic about this forum section, so it makes sense. However, I’m sure others posting threads also believe their thread is applicable to this section. As others have stated, you can report to moderator if it bothers you, but I think it would be a difficult challenge to try and move every topic to it’s proper place if you’re picky about it.
4692  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Assets are seized for FTX... Its over! on: November 15, 2022, 05:23:43 PM
I hope they start selling off assets soon. I want to use the Blockfolio app again that FTX purchased and changed the name of. Now it’s not working and I assume it’s because it was an FTX asset and has been confiscated. Would be great if Binance or any company with money stepped in and bought the app as it was the best portfolio tracking app available for crypto.
4693  Economy / Speculation / Re: The most stupid dip in Bitcoin's history - and why we can be happy now on: November 15, 2022, 05:21:45 PM
The thing about this dip is that it wasn’t stupid. The people causing it were idiot liberals who belonged nowhere near a functioning business, sure. However, the dip highlighted an ongoing problem with these made up tokens people are using as sources of value. Binance is no different with BNB, so this crash could just be the warning that companies like Binance are still being held together by a wish and a prayer. If BNB starts diving, make sure you don’t have any funds on Binance or the next collapse will get you.
4694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shell, enters Bitcoin mining and sponsors Bitcoin conferences on: November 15, 2022, 05:18:50 PM
This is great news for Bitcoin but probably terrible news for at home miners. I don’t think anyone will be able to compete with companies like Shell, Exxon, etc. They have access to energy at prices we could only dream of and will likely pressure Bitcoin mining operations in places with cheap power and older equipment. I think we might be seeing the final evolution stage of Bitcoin mining.
4695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto exchange wars going on... FTX vs Binance on: November 15, 2022, 05:16:56 PM
I just hope someone buys the Blockfolio app from FTX. That was my favorite crypto portfolio tracker and it’s gone dark ever since FTX took down their website. If anyone has any suggestions I’m open to hearing them. I’ve grown accustomed to being able to see my entire crypto portfolio value at a glance and now that it’s gone I feel myself losing touch with the market a bit.
4696  Economy / Goods / Re: Power Grid or Power Generation? on: November 15, 2022, 05:14:54 PM
I do both. I tend to use more power than I can generate at times and a battery backup can only take you so far. Grid energy as a backup is always nice to have and with a Tesla Powerwall you have the ability to shut off the grid energy with the touch of a button should you so desire. In today’s day and age, I think having solar, a battery backup, and grid energy is the way to go. You never know what could happen.
4697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not Quitting only a break on: November 15, 2022, 05:12:50 PM
Quitting vs taking a break aren’t all that different. Both require that you beat your demons regardless of whatever addiction you are trying to destroy. I think as long as you’re honest with yourself you can return to some bad habits, but you should at least be honest with yourself about what is in control of your life. A break here and there to prove you’re in control of your own destiny is always encouraged.
4698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Reduce Gambling Related Issues Like Suicide etc? on: November 15, 2022, 05:10:37 PM
I’ve never thought of suicide as a gambling related issue. I think there has to be more going on in someone’s life than losing a game in order to push them over the edge. In fact, I’d have to think you’re going through some serious issues to gamble to the point it would have an effect on your life. I think if you are noticing negative repercussions from your gambling habits, you should find another source of entertainment.
4699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 15, 2022, 05:08:24 PM
A couple of good teams playing in tonight’s TNT doubleheader. Up first Zion and the Pelicans take on Ja Morant and the Grizzlies. Hopefully we get some good dunks between Zion and Ja as the form 1 and 2 picks face off. Then we get the red hot Sacramento Kings vs the struggling Nets. That one could go either way but I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to Durant. A good night for some basketball.
4700  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 14, 2022, 09:12:42 PM
I think pretty much everyone is expecting it to go lower at this point. The question is how deep it it will go downward and for how long. Personally, I’m not worried about trying to catch the bottom. I just want to make sure I’m invested before the next train leaves the station. While it’s true we could dip another 30% from here, I also think it’s true that we will be much higher in a couple of years, and you won’t remember what price you paid, only that you bought the dip.
