4681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Knicks versus Almighty Bulls on: February 02, 2021, 08:30:24 PM
So I bet against the bulls playing the money line riding the putred pitiful, ever losing knicks last night.  What a mistake, they bulls outclassed them in every way all the way down to the towel man and water boys.  Knicks front office should take notes on how much of a class act the bulls are.  I will never bet against the bulls ever again especially while playing the cruddy Knicks.  As a Knicks fan this hurts but its true the bulls will always beat the knicks now and forever

(I lost a gentlemens bet to another coiner friend and here is my payment) :/
4682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: February 02, 2021, 02:28:10 PM
In now days too much Altcoin Project are Launching one by one and all of them claim that invest in his project because we will be successful in upcoming days but in the end they run away and make a scam. They don't woory about people fund and stole them.
So how we can trust on altcoin to give us profit after investment. Because most of them become Scam and Scam. All of them has one Aim how to stole too much fund .
So how we make altcoin investment safe ?

Lol altcoin and safe don't belong in the same sentence.  Alts are so heavily manipulated there isn't a fair way to say HOW to make them safe.  Its a risk assessment you need to assess for yourself just know it most likely will end up in a scam so only put in the amount of money you can afford to completely lose.
4683  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC go down to <$5k again now? on: February 02, 2021, 02:23:37 PM
Given 'institutional' investors who are more prone to hold through dips and ignore the paper loss; is it actually possible for BTC to drop to sub $5k ever again now?

There was a really good diagram showing how the composition of BTC holdings has changed over the years, and it shows a marked shift away from big portfolios into lots of smaller wallets; i.e retail investors.

I get that a few bigger whales might hold and support certain prices, but surely the collective holding of retail investors would be enough to move the dial substantially?

March 20 was the last time it was at around that level and it hasn't gone to that since.

What was fundamentally different about that period of time to what it is now that would stop us returning to that price point? I'd appreciate any reliable information sources to back up any comments?

These threads come up all too often but the simple answer is yes.  A range of pretty much anything could happen.  When end of 2017 hit 20k everyone was saying no way it gets down to 3kish and well it did.  So can it go from 40k to 5k yeah why not.  If a bearish sentiment comes in and some of those large companies start liquidating their position on the way down it could fall rather quickly.  Do I think it heads there personally no but to ask if it can....its bitcoin anything is possible Smiley
4684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 02, 2021, 02:15:06 PM
Well, I have been following LaMelo Ball's performance for a while now, and I realized that he is managing to maintain consistency in his acting.
Do you think he's one of the favorites to win the rookie of the year award?

Are there other players?

I think he stood out among the rest, it's a unanimous win for him this season if he continues to be consistent, Lamelo is just a rookie but the team already trusted him so much, that simply says he will be the future star of the team.

according to the betting odds, https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/nba/rookie-of-the-year-odds/

Lamelo is the favorites with -125, so he has not failed our expectation.

Honestly I think quickley is going to give a good run for ROY this year.  He has almost taken over the starting spot from elfrid Payton and is always in in tight or late game situations.  He is highly efficient besides a couple game run where he couldn't find the basket.  He plays like a seasoned vet already.  Kid has a nasty floater and can shoot from anywhere but isn't a chucker.
4685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could DOGE could reach 1$...? on: February 01, 2021, 08:48:10 PM
Everyone saying doge coin can touch 1$ , Is it possible...? Huh Should i buy or not  Huh.?

Most peoe that are clamoring on about $1 doge are from peoe who have no idea about crypto.  Can it happen for sure probably fairly easy if you get a crew like wsb on the pump up but sustained that high would be amazing.  Dont think a 100x is in the books soon for doge though lol.
4686  Economy / Speculation / Re: At long term — Could 1 sat equals 1 USD? on: February 01, 2021, 08:45:04 PM
Hi there,

What do you guys think are the chances that at long term (say 10~20 years) 1 sat could be valued 1 US dollar?
Is there any solid foundation supporting that Bitcoin price in the future?

Thanks.

At this point nothing would be impossible.  If you said bitcoin would be 30k ish in 10 years, 10 years ago no one would have believed you....so never say never just going to need a lot more pushing to do so.
4687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't repeat same mistakes on: February 01, 2021, 07:08:42 PM
In 2017 when bullrun took over crypto space and many altcoins joined later some people still keep holding thinking that their altcoins will keep surging and surging, little did they know that bull season always have short life span when comparing to bear season, bear season can stay for years but bull season is just in months, so why are you holding when you should be selling?

Remember that some bought bitcoin at 20k and they have no choice but to hold till today, imagine all this year's waiting just to get back to where you once are. Bitcoin is over 18k now, good for them cos they are near recovery since 2017.

Know when to get in and know when to get out, don't be a greedy bastard.

Yeah thats why long term trading alts is super risky.  You could most likely end up with the bag everyone has been selling.  Things get hot real quick in alts but when it dies its painfully quick drop.  Agreed take some if not all profit when its there.
4688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 01, 2021, 04:14:18 PM
Enjoying the play of knick rookie Immanuel quickley.  His floater is unstoppable and has great vision.  Plays amped up all the time.  Finally I think the knicks got a starting guard for a long time to come.  With him and rj thats a nice young core to build around
4689  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: February 01, 2021, 03:51:50 PM
Governments all around the World Secretly start using together with banks the bitcoins.
Oil is done so They replace bitcoin instead of oil.

The btc volatility might go like daily 50k-100k price Changes.

Bitcoin will be instutionalized permanently.
The Global market prices Liqutation postion will be fluctuated by Bitcoin price.

I said this before but nobody didnt listen but now its here!!

It won't replace oil or gold.  Oil might fade but not because of bitcoin but because of less reliance on it as a commodity.  Gold is another asset class.  Its not about replacing something but complimenting it. Gold and bitcoin don't exactly do the same thing nor act the same.  They can both coexist peacefully.
4690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Augur versus Wagerr on: January 28, 2021, 10:41:51 PM
After looking over both Wagerr and Augur I can't seem to get why Augur has such an insanely higher market cap versus Wagerr.  It probably has to do with exchanges and marketing.  But functionality wise I think Wagerr is much better than Augur.  Which should be the backbone of pricing.  Thoughts?

Wagerr failed to deliver big time and people are annoyed to wait anymore. You could read about some of the problems here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5309142.msg56087184#msg56087184

Three years are too much waiting to deliver.

I get it but the numbers are there.  People are using it and its working.  I think much more than augur.  I like to think something thats more used but less advertised marketing wise, is worth paying 20x less than than something that isn't being used as much but is "on better exchanges."  Just odd how the valuations are right now.
4691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is down a lot on: January 28, 2021, 04:29:30 AM
In my opinion, didn't gray capital invest a lot of bitcoin during this period? In such a short period of time, why has it dropped so much?
Does anyone analyze his current market information?
For bitcoin believers, these increases are nothing, but we'd like to know why. If you have a good idea, let's share it

Thats just crypto.  It has been this way since the beginning and probably won't change for awhile.  Bitcoin can go down under $20k and it can be as strong as ever.  It can go to $50k and be as weak as ever.  Welcome to crypto Smiley

4693  Economy / Economics / Re: Marathon Invests $150 Million In Bitcoin on: January 28, 2021, 04:18:57 AM
A bitcoin company invests in bitcoin. How is this news?

I think its the size of the investment.  Company's are taking large positions in bitcoin more now than ever.  This just being another one.  I think that is the story here.
4694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: No positive sign in LTC on: January 28, 2021, 04:10:29 AM
LTC had a small bullish movement with BTC being bullisj but after reaching $180 or close, it’s moving in the reversal way. Almost all the coins had good pump, but what's wrong with LTC? It has not risen, despite price has been decreased. Can someone put a theory behind this?

Aot of money is going into defi and some other flashy fad type coins.  Once the dust settles most of them will be gone or turned scam and there will be litecoin still chugging along.  Its a safer play and most alt buyers want insta profits.
4695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 28, 2021, 04:06:03 AM
What a great game from Brooklyn Nets their Big 3 managed to score big time and they successfully beat the Atlanta Hawks in the OT. I think this time they're really playing as a team. They need this kind of game especially when they face those team that has already managed to climb the top they are hard to beat because their chemistry is on another level.

Source: NBA Buzz

Seems the trio are still in the process of understanding each others game as a team. They play like it's an all star exhibition... Struggles for win, no long game lead, but interesting to watch with all of their gameplay and highlights.
I see a future in this Nets.

I'm still a little skeptical.  Its still new I need to see 20-30 games to see them in different situations.  This was the hawks not someone who is going to scare anyone off.  I do think any team sporting Kevin Durant can win the chip just hope the chemistry in the end is there.

4698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think that bitcoin could hit 10 million ever? on: January 27, 2021, 04:09:51 AM
Do you think that bitcoin could have a market cap of around 200 trillion? Is it feasible?

I mean why not right.  In 2010 you think many people thought it could hit a trillion.  Welp here we are only 10 short years from there.  It would take mass adoption worldwide but its definately doable.  With that being said start stacking sats now  Grin
4699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 27, 2021, 04:06:11 AM
We absolutely killed it last night, this thread as a whole was near perfect in its predictions, only stadus came short (Heat +7.5), though it was a lot closer than the final score suggests, 1 point game with 5min left.

Not many games/lines to choose from today and i'm still 'hungover' from yesterday's 4/4, so i guess i will sit this one, official reason: "load management".  Grin

Load management lol.  Wish I did that tonight.  Knicks were killing it in the first half Austin rivers 25 points in 11 minutes, 10-10fg and 5-5 from 3.  Second half has been a complete dud.  Quickley 1-10.  Knicks had 58 at half and with 6 minutes to go in the game Knicks scored 26 points in the whole second half.  Wish I didn't like the knicks lol
4700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 26, 2021, 05:57:50 PM
Not really much games to pick from tonight, and I don't even know what teams to back, I would have gone for the clippers but they'll be without far too many important players...

All that said, I've decided to go for: Utah Jazz vs Knicks over 210.5

I'm going with that too.  I'm also taking the knicks spread too.  The knicks play low scoring tight games so I dont think the under could hit AND knicks lose by 10.5. Hedge on the game and i it ends up being a blowout than it will be a high scoring blowout.  Hoping for a 115-110 kind of game
