4681  Economy / Lending / Re: Why do trustworthy people rarely need loans? on: September 03, 2014, 08:49:37 PM
My favorites are those who only want 0.1BTC.

Really? A guy who has to get an internet loan for $50 does not have a plan to pay you back. They will however offer free excuses. Maybe we should make an alt-coin just for loans. We'll just make up a value, say 1 loan coin = $0.50. Want a $100 loan? Sure, no problem. Here is 200 LC's.  Cheesy
I'd do LoanCoin if you or anyone else wants to team up. I can manage design and marketing and the other guy deals with the actual coin.
Loan coin, the coin backed by promises from anonymous debtors!  You can't spend them, you can't pay loans with them, but you can receive loans denominated in them. lol

All the talk here is about one written paper. The link below is to the white paper by Satoshi Nakamoto.

4684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Will Fail. on: September 03, 2014, 08:16:03 PM
Your argument that bitcoin can't work because it is not backed by anything is an old one. The first one really.  But there is an implied premise that backing is needed. Look at shiny rocks. Shiny rocks have been a store of wealth for thousands of years. Why? Gold is simply thought of as expensive. There is no real reason to think gold has value other than tradition. All you need to have a currency is that it is unprofitable to counterfeit, and people believe it is valuable. Money is nothing more than a social contract.
I'll stick with bitcoin only. It's the coin I will be using for the rest of my life.  I have only seen pain and poverty from alts.

You could, but it wont help. Try not looking at the price til December.  Cheesy

I like "Dreams" by Akira Kurosawa

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx_dpJmUPZY

Very weird movie about dreams the director has had throughout his life. Everything from hypothermia induced hallucinations to post war nightmares. You can kinda piece together his life from the dreams he presents.
4687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Serious question. Who SELLS at this level? on: September 03, 2014, 07:27:52 PM
Does spending count? Because I spend bitcoin no matter what the price is.
4688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who controls the Bitcoin software? on: September 03, 2014, 05:50:58 PM
If anyone had any control over bitcoin then I would not want them.
4689  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed a 2013 Office Key from TUGenius on: September 03, 2014, 05:45:25 PM
So your scam against Microsoft went bad then?

I'm not scamming Microsoft here....don't even know how you came to that conclusion. I'm purchasing Microsoft keys from the seller, they didn't work, end of story. But anyway, the seller has given 30 keys as a refund. This is resolved at the moment for myself. If anyone else has problems with the seller, I suggest making another report, as mine is now cleared.
Maybe I didn't understand then. Are you sure he has the rights to sell keys? If so then contact Microsoft and let them deal with him.

Bummer man. Don't be too hard on yourself though. Sending to the wrong address, or moving the decimal and sending the wrong amount could happen to anyone.
4691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i get some free Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2014, 05:28:49 PM
I'm also looking for free money. If you have any, please give it to me. I also take dollars and Euros, if that makes it easier.
4692  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you care? on: September 03, 2014, 04:26:13 PM
I've had the displeasure of living in an anarchy. You would not like it. Places that have no government have fear, poverty, extreme disparity of wealth. Only the warlords I knew had any idea where their next meal was coming from, and they were always in danger from the next tough guy.

I don't know why, but people who grew up in wealthy, safe peaceful places like the U.S. seem to think that anarchy is freedom. Anarchy is when one family owns everything and everyone. It always turns out that way, there are the weak and the strong. Without a government the strong take all.

!970's Pilton riots.. kid in back of van.. police ram it.. van tips over.. dinae talk tae me aboot anarchy.. am no intae that shit.. but I'll never forget how they made that incident go away.. I was that kid.. my ma n dad were takin me hame. They never made anythin aroite wi me.. they broke the law..too many o these gits get away with it.. Was I scared? NO.. was I living in poverty? No, I was kid.. my mum and dad may have, with me n my sis as a burden that they could thankfully show us they can get through.. did we need, no, did we want, no, did i steal, yes, for this was the first thing i was taught, not to be a theif, but to feed me and my family, nothing else matters.. roofs are made out of twigs in places..

Your anarchy was created by the founding brethren, not my dad.. I know where the warlords live, cause they need protection from my hollow tips.. and no shooter is tough comapred to a REAL sniper.. At least I came 2nd, and in doing so at that time, I was the 2nd best marksman in the british army. TrophY.... Ubique quo fas et gloria you cunts..

At the end o the day, when the shit hits the fan in my area, I will look after even the scummyasons due to having at one point sworn allegiance.. to shoot when told.  Does'nt mean I cant talk shit on a bitcoin off topic page?

Your idea of anarchy is the mean streets of Somerset? And a sniper ranked #2 in the UK? Give me a break.

Oh I see, since I think it's child-like and stupid to believe in such conspiracy theories I must be part of one Roll Eyes

I just type "bitcoin price" into google. Google knows all.

MESSAGE TO THE ISLAMIC STATE
I am not afraid of you. Neither are my friends. But you should be afraid of my friends, they are very bad men. The kind who put a bag over your head in the middle of the night. Start praying to Allah that they give you back to the U.K.

4698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NY Post Troll Bait article on MIT $100 worth BTC per Student on: September 03, 2014, 01:43:40 PM
sometimes i feel like the bitcoin fanatics live in this circlejerking echo chamber, and they think bitcoin is going to do a lot more than it is realistically going to do. and then there are other times when i see people who troll bitcoin.. i can't side with either party.
I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Just like it always is when there is a fanatical divide.
4699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On what sport/team should Bitcoin sponsor? on: September 03, 2014, 01:37:18 PM
I think it might be a good idea if bitcoin were to sponsor a U.S. college football bowl.  Perhaps they should start with one of the smaller and less known ones such as the St. Petersburg Bowl in Florida.

Perhaps the sponsorship could be paid for by one of the bitcoin payment processors such as BitPay?
Isn't Tony at BitPay sponsoring the "bit-bowl" in Tampa? I thought it was on Dec. 26th.
