I don't think about investing in this way yet. There are too many small problems at once. I rather try to distract myself from all this and play different games with stakes - https://spiniacasino.live/  It would be nice to just ride out this storm at home. It would be perfect.

Gambling is a lot of fun for me too. Investing is mit so much fun for me. I am trying to a long term strategy and think in the macro picture, because looking at the micro aspects might lead to too much trading and makes only the banks rich who get a lot of fees. Once I decided to buy a stock I intend to hold it atleast for 3-5 years.GGambling is a good way to try and go for small profits in the meantime.
4682  Economy / Economics / Re: US Firm Launches Company-Sponsored Bitcoin Retirement Plans on: December 07, 2020, 12:18:31 PM
This is actually a big step for Pension funds, because most Pension funds only invest their members funds in very stable and safe investments and we know the Bitcoin price is very volatile and also a high risk investment.

That said, most Financial advisors will tell you that you should have a very balanced portfolio... with a mixture of low and medium and high risk investments. A typical Pension fund has the majority of their portfolio invested in low risk investments. I am glad to see that more trustees and fund administrators are opening their investment portfolio to get a taste for a bit more high risk investments like Crypto currencies. (High risk can yield some very high profits too)  Wink

Thank you, OP.... it is a good sign for the future.  Wink

I agree with you, Pension funds are usually the slowest investors compared to general investment funds and  hedge funds. Due to the long time span of retirement funds it's usually much more risk averse than other investors. So to these kind of companies going into bitcoins now is a great achievement for the community. Also there is lot of money behind pension funds which would mean higher prices in the future.

  • A British gambler sold all of his possessions, including all of his clothes, and bet $135,300 on red for a single spin of a roulette wheel in Las Vegas and won. Source
LOL!! This one is my hero!!

But just because he won, in the case he lost he wouldn't Cheesy

It reminds me that family who sold his house and most of their things to buy Bitcoin at ATH and went to live in a camping tend. From time to time appear such hardcore gamblers.

(BTW, I really hope this family has hodld through all this time and they have recovered their investment).

That's some serious gambling right there. I wouldn't have the guts to go all in like that. Luckily for them it paid off really well. Honestly if someone can live like that it's 100% deserves that their gambling pays off. For me I am just too risk averse and always try to hedge my bets.
4684  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this Love or not ? on: December 07, 2020, 11:26:24 AM
I don't think it was love at first sight. It might be that she values financial security more than looks and attractiveness. But who knows for certain. Also after some years of marriage she might actually live him, but at first sight I don't believe it.
4685  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Its time to stop calling the left progressive, because they are the opposite on: December 07, 2020, 11:03:09 AM
These days Progressive actually means Globalist Neo-marxist.

no they just pretend to be that, in the end they want to defund the police and run the society but ethnic gangs and racists

Defunding the police is insane in my opinion. Who comes up with these ideas. Honestly, people don't need the police when everything is going well. But wgar if someone breaks into your house? Imagine you can't reach any police officer anymore and just get an automated answering service who will call you back in 12-36h? Its just crazy to assume we could live in a world without police.
4686  Economy / Economics / Re: The 2nd generation of banking is going digital on: December 07, 2020, 10:59:13 AM
The pandemic situation almost a year, forcing people to start switching from traditional banks to digital banks. Because digital banks
are proven safe and practical, digital banks are also very effective at preventing the spread of the corona virus. By using digital bank,
there is no physical contact, so in my country it has started to socialize the use of digital banking. And slowly transactions using traditional
banks began to be reduced.
.

I still have my bank account from my regionalvwbk since being a teen.VBut ut got so expensive to use it in the last year that I had to switch it into a savings account.if I am just using the account to save money the fees are much lower than when using credit cards for that account. My new account is with a digital bank that offers the same services but for free.
4687  Economy / Economics / Re: My opinion on Inflation w/c affects greatly on fiat currency and how to beat it! on: December 07, 2020, 10:56:22 AM
The overall inflation on my country is still fairly low. I invested in some inflation backed bonds in the past, they pay a coupon linked to the inflation rate. So in real terms you don't lose any money. But since the inflation rate is so low there is not a lot of returns earned with these bonds. It is better to just store value.. Going into crypto currencies to avoid inflation is a great idea. For me it's not really why I am buying bitcoins, but it's a great side effect.
4688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gamblers! What is your excuse to avoid a game with 0% House Edge? on: December 07, 2020, 10:52:54 AM
Gambling is a great opportunity to verify it's fate. But 0% house edge gambling is scam. Because there is no gambling site is not a charity firm. So 0% house edge is not possible a real gambling site. People should avoid 0% house edge gambling.

I just saw the thread the first time. We shouldn't instantly call the site a scam without having more information because it can just be a promotional campaign for limited period of time to attract new gamblers. Also the rake might be earned from other games which enables the casino to offer one game without a house edge.
4689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I want to play poker online on: December 06, 2020, 09:45:37 AM

If I had a lot of capital I would go to play poker to a good casino in my country.

If I was rich I would go to Las Vegas straightaway.

It seems a bit suspicious to me from a Newbie member to ask this kind of questions. But maybe he is the alt account from a veteran user who doesn't want to disclose his plans. Maybe he is just a shy bitcoin millionaire who prefers playing poker in pyjama Smiley

Anyway, if your intentions are legit, I hope you take advantage of the information you are receiving in this thread.

The thing is that a high roller in Las Vegas you need to get invited to high stakes games, these games don't happen on the usual casino floor, rather in some private lounges of the hotel. In my state there isn't even any Casino with high stakes games. There are only 2 larger casinos in my area and both of them have only 1 low and 1 medium stakes table. But now with corona it's all closed anyways. If I had the money and don't care that much about winning or losing, I would give it a try to play on high stakes tables. But as soon as I notice that my opponents have a big edge over me, I would switch down to lower stakes tables.

4691  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin whales background on: December 06, 2020, 08:54:03 AM
what was their job or occupation before they become the bitcoin whales?

i guess they had other job before the bitcoin right? or how they made a living?

I think there are different type of whales. The first group is just rich, if you have tons of fiat currency and want to diversify its pretty easy to buying larger amounts of bitcoins over time. The second group is people who became rich though bitcoins. If you managed to buy a lot of Bitcoin's when the price was below 100 USD and just hold them until today, you are a whale now. I would assume these people have atleast some form of IT background.
4692  Other / Off-topic / Re: Plans if you make it big on: December 05, 2020, 11:12:50 PM
Sometime in the future you make it really big, your dabbling in cryptocurrency makes you very wealthy.  So what do you do now?

If I ever made it big I would try to stay down to earth and connected with my surroundings. Becoming rich is not my goal in life though. There are so many people out there that changed because of becoming rich overnight. There is no reason to let the money get in your head and start thinking you are better than someone else.
4693  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: December 05, 2020, 09:33:34 PM
We are still in 2020 which for me is the worst year I have ever lived in, and your trying to tell me that something way worse than this is on its way,do you see the future?  Cheesy common man, 2021 can't be that bad as you think, after all the vaccine for covid-19 is already out, just that distributions will start next year, so that's definitely a reason why 2021 won't be that bad as you think it's going to be, so just expect things to start going back to normal by 2021 stop praying for the worst we have been through hell already.  Grin

I fully agree with you, 2020 was a shock for all of us. 2021 just can't be as bad as this year. Even if it is the same mess like we are now in, atleast we are prepared for it, better than we were in December 2019 when all this mess started. We need to stay optimistic and hope for a better year.
4694  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is poor men Lower class wall street on: December 05, 2020, 12:07:33 PM
So is the cryptocurrency is poor men the lower class wall street?

But I like that Smiley

It's fine for me. If you go to wallstreet and have like 10,000 USD to invest, they will just laugh at you. But when you invest that kind of money in crypto currencies you can get a decent portfolio of alt coins already. I agree with you in sense that the opportunities are limitless at wallstreet and in the crypto world. But there are also a lot of rich people by now going into bitcoins. I would say this was true 5 years ago, but by now it's more of a competition between these two.
4695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I want to play poker online on: December 05, 2020, 12:02:00 PM
I want to play poker with worthy opponents. I've tried a lot of venues, I don't know where to get good ones and what people would have with money. Or it's not interesting to play with the poor. Maybe you know where to play?

I am not a high roller and are not familiar with high stakes tables really. If you have the bankroll than go for it, for example on GG poker there are people sitting with more than 100,000 usd at the tables. Definitely not a poor man's game.FFor me personally I just play lower stakes games.YYou can find good games on SWC poker and poker stars, but this might be too low for you.
4696  Economy / Economics / Re: What inflation lol?? on: December 05, 2020, 11:57:55 AM
Getting bitcoins would be a nice gift, but to be better prepared for 2021 I would just settle with money. The economy is still in a rough shape and while everything looks like 2021 could be the year of the recovery it's nkf certain yet that pandemic will be contained. So far after 4 weeks of lockdown the cases of new infections are still rising.
4697  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corona is fake(corona panic is fake) on: December 05, 2020, 11:45:41 AM
So if corona is fake, what is up with vaccine everyone is talking about? It's a hoax too? And all millions of investors investing into pharma companies right now? The conspiracy theory is a bit to big in my opinion. There is just no Motive for all these people to promote a fake disease. Unfortunately corona is real and hurting all of us.
4698  Economy / Economics / Re: Why BTC is digital gold? on: December 04, 2020, 10:18:24 AM
BTC isn't comparable to gold or digital gold, because it's not like gold. It doesn't have a large demand from industry. It has nothing to offer besides being a store of value. Those two criteria exclude something from being a store of value, because there is zero protection against a sell off due to market sentiment or for any other reason. For gold protection is a heavy industry demand, many more uses besides being a store of value and finally, thousand of years of being a successful store of value. Bitcoin doesn't have any of that.

While I agree with you partially that hold has a huge demand from industries and luxury companies, the demand is not based on real needs. The value we give to hold is artificial, because its just based on some material that is very scare. If one day we would find a massive goldmine that the demand would likely drop. If everyone can afford a huge gold necklace than it's not special anymore. This aspect which is what makes bitcoins digital gold. There is only a limited quantity.
4699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: December 04, 2020, 10:12:58 AM
For me gambling is still an entertainment, even though it can be painful sometimes. I lost this all my previous winnings in slot and are also on a down swing in poker. It's a bit depressing to lose in a few weeks the things that took you weeks to  earn before. But so is life too, good days will come again. And if I would have spent the same time going out I spent gambling, I probably would have spent even more money. Unfortunately we can't be always winning.
4700  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: December 04, 2020, 10:07:19 AM
The vaccinations were supposed to be started in my country at the end of next year, but now they postponed the date until after Christmas. It seems that the drug is still not approved on a national level from the government health agency I am remaining positive that the vaccine could finally stop the spread of corona. But I am reading carefully any news regarding the side effects of the vaccine and long term implications.
