4701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My biz partner lost over 50 btc trading on MCXnow on: November 06, 2013, 10:42:14 PM
Well yeah Im getting advice from the bitcoiners...i dont think thats weird. This is my first taste of a bitcoin scammer, and I wanted to see what people thought.

Well, keep trying to contact your business partner and think of ways to make up for the shortfall.

So you can attract $10k of investor money, but seek advice on Bitcointalk over an internal trading policy dispute? What am I missing here... ?
4703  Economy / Economics / Re: What is really backing the price? on: November 06, 2013, 07:57:53 PM
I think you should read this. If that gets throug to your control center, read David Graeber - Debt: the First 5000 Years.
4704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [PPC] Press Release - Peercoin is the official crypto for Trek Con Springfield on: November 06, 2013, 05:09:54 PM
Nice that the Trekkies lead the way. Gratz to the people pushing this initiative.
4705  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY!! on: November 06, 2013, 03:18:54 PM
If for some reason the Chinese government decides to put some of its trillions of dollars in T-bonds into Bitcoin... Seem ridiculous

It was their mistake to build up a huge stack of essentially worthless currency ....

I think you are mistaken, my friend. China build a whole industry in four decades while the West destroyed its industrial base by unsound monetary policies. We have sold the rope that China will use to hang us, as a figure of speech.

After the crash, China will easily absorb the hit and still have an industry whereas we will only have angry EBT card holders and lawyers/bankers/realtors without a job.

Mission accomplished.
4706  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chances of $150 again on: November 06, 2013, 02:46:13 PM
Possible, but I wouldn't bet on it.

We're in a bubble. When it pops, it gets us to 150.

Bubble pop takes us to 2x the previous ATH:

$1 -> $32 -> $2 : factor 32 | factor 16
$32 -> $266 -> $60 : factor 8 | factor 4
$266 -> ? $530 -> below $530 (undervalued) (decrease of factors with four)

FTFY
4707  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY!! on: November 06, 2013, 12:27:33 PM
Guys, what is the reason of this sudden price rise? Any fundamental changes happening somewhere?

Please learn one thing and only this thing when trading: the price rises because there are more people buying than selling.

If more stuff is bought than sold, where does the stuff come from that is only bought, but not sold?
Why is someone buying so much stuff is the question. What changed ?

You cannot possibly look into the heads of all individual market participants making a choice to buy or sell. Therefore, any rationale for a price movement is just a best guess at the most, and pure fiction at the worst. Dont bother with fairy tails, just look at the price movements.

Guys, what is the reason of this sudden price rise? Any fundamental changes happening somewhere?

Please learn one thing and only this thing when trading: the price rises because there are more people buying than selling. The rest will just interfere and aid your lizard brain.

Never ever ask again for the reason.
Never pay attention to the reasons put forward by the talking heads.

Not heeding this advice will lead you to making wrong decisions, trust me  Cool
4709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 06, 2013, 07:39:43 AM
so, I just woke up. Saw new ATH but no rocket and 25 new coins in orderbook. Where?

Could someone give me a very quick wrapup of the last 6 hours? Thread has too many pages to read.

Slow grind higher beyond ATH. No $50 a day yet, so lots of excited teenagers over nothing.
4710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 06, 2013, 06:25:27 AM
Litecoin is going fine after 2 years since its inception.

Let's continue to build the case for Litecoin:

I agree: Bitcoin won't replace other currencies and won't be the only crypto currency around.

Devtome.com has exceeded traffic?

Just when I was submitting my article (=text gone)...  Huh Grin
4712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 11:22:42 PM
It feels like April again.
4713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: November 05, 2013, 10:26:53 PM
Its still hard to get a working wallet for the layman. The available Windows client won't connect, and now compiling Devcoind and in a few minutes Devoin-qt is not for the faint at heart. It has been ages since I installed Debian and did something like compiling make files  Cool

For me as linux-amateur is already hard. This way, Devcoin is not for the non-tech people.
4714  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at $205? Should I buy into a rally? on: November 05, 2013, 08:52:08 PM
There are several investing styles. Mine has served me adequately.

Until it won't. Not minding your strategy here, but you must be flexible and change strategy accordingly. Bitcoin mainstream adaption is probably still 5 years away. The annual growth factor can slow down in the future.
4715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: November 05, 2013, 08:44:20 PM
I thought that devcoin has no real hard cap in total coins.
4716  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 08:02:35 PM
Diff from 390 to 510 official.
4717  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 07:33:48 PM
what's up with blockchain.info? or have we really not found a block in 90 mins?

Bitcoinwatch seems stuck as well.
4718  Economy / Speculation / Re: imagine incoming bubble on: November 05, 2013, 07:28:49 PM
Naysayers are a plenty on this forum. With their attitude, I would never have stepped into this crypto thing. Glad I never listen to people only defeating themselves.
4719  Economy / Speculation / Re: imagine incoming bubble on: November 05, 2013, 06:24:40 PM
litecoin had its time to shine, it died with the mtgox rumors

It died upwards while appreciating in value, now up to $3. But every market needs clueless people.
4720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good news, MtGox finally mention about Litecoin on: November 05, 2013, 05:52:06 PM
Of course. I am referring to  the timing element.

No doubts that Litecoin has bright future. The only thing that matters is that people value it and that is not so hard for a 2nd size coin with active development and a great community.

We give it value ourselves by believing in, holding and using it.
