4701  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: October 06, 2019, 02:53:12 PM

Sadly still not clear what will happen to the funds after they give enough time for people to make their claims.

Are they processing KYC procedure now? I lost track on what is currently happening now with crytopia after the last update.

Which KYC process ? I have been regularly following the Cryptopia website and there is nothing mention about the KYC etc.  Are they showing any intent to return the customers funds if they do the KYC  ? Although this requirement looks ridiculous but I want to know complete information what's going on.
I have my funds stuck in there and I badly want them back.
4702  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [CONTEST] Make max posts and win 1 btc ! on: October 06, 2019, 02:18:06 PM
With 1 btc at stake, spam posters are inevitable. Originally, the big prizes to encourage members to contribute to advancing the forum, but the spam posters and non-constructive posts should not be calculated which is a huge task for moderators. Even we can easily spot some members post in 2-5 minutes without no clue regarding the object they are talking about.

I do not find this a good marketing technique to get traffic on the forum. Yes, you will get a lot of traffic and signup as long as there is some monetary value for doing so.

I've created an account over there just to see what's happening and not really intending to make the maximum posts, but the common formula on the forum is someone would be re-posting articles from a year or two ago and people would build up their discussion from there, at which point it will get reported and the topic would be deleted. There are some lucky, plagiarized content that passes the hammer, though, and if CryptoTalk want to get their forum the organic and original content it needs, and of course some regulars on the forum, they might want to step-up their game.

Trust me, after it's all said and done by November, traffic at the site would diminish.

Maybe they come up with some other offer to keep up the posting and traffic but this is not how a forum is established.  Undecided
4703  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there any crypto fund managers available.. on: October 06, 2019, 08:28:29 AM
Not sure if thats what i look for.

I'm basically looking for anyone if anyone is doing a portfolio management on cryptocurrencies. Similar to 'managed' accounts and collect a fee based on the profit they make from our portfolio.
So you are basically finding a person who would handle your entire porfolio and make it big by doing trading or any other terms? If thats the thing what you mean then i would say dont entrust people who would offer you such thing. Im not familiar on possible legit candidates regarding on this task or job since people dont easily trust when it comes to portfolio management.

This does not happen here and if anyone contacts you privately after seeing your post, just be cautious.
Although Portfolio management is a decent service but many people scam in the name of this. If you ever want to give control to anyone to do trades on your behalf, never give him the full ownership of your account. So can give him the API through which they can only manage your funds but cannot withdraw without your permission.
4704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The price you will buy and sell btc? on: October 06, 2019, 05:50:43 AM
The price you like to buy the btc?
And sell! ?

I think 7k I buy and sell 10k.

Right now going back to 7 is kinda difficult but 8k$ and sell once it reach to 13k$ is the safest play to risk. Though it will take some months before it can hit the target but it is very possible so the risk is not that high.

And if you will eye for more than 13k$ then you need to wait for like 8-12 months before you can hit your target for selling base on the market condition.

How can you be so sure that it can reach to $7,000 from here.  BTC at $8000 for the last few days and it can further pump to $9300 to $9500.

Also your 2nd analysis for the Bitcoin to reach again to $14,000  after 8 to 12 months is just out of the question Bitcoin might reach the target by the end of the December or on early January 2020, due to too many critical events like halving.
4705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Golovkin vs. Dereyvanchenko - Vacant IBO Title on: October 06, 2019, 05:29:46 AM
But let’s see since we still have plenty of Time to think on which to bet
Gennady Golovkin won the fight by unanimous decision and captured the middle weight vacant IBF belt again.
The fight was really good and both were trading shots and now the fight i want to see is the trilogy fight against Canelo Alvarez and that too outside US.

The results were pretty much as expected. Derevyanchenko was an underdog and was never favorite. However it was still a close game and Gennadiy Golovkin had to work hard to win the title. All the boxing matches I have seen this, I can safely say that this was fight of the year.
4706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the difference between staking and mining??? on: October 06, 2019, 05:17:50 AM
i don't know for sure but if i m not mistaken mining is more expensive
No this isn't true. Mining cost way more depending on the coin that you are planning to stake at, some coins require even upmost $10k value of coins in minimum to be staked, there are some that are way cheaper but not all of them cheaper than starting a mining business.

Mining involves the extra cost like you will have to buy the hardware, the cost of electricity , equipment's and all such things.

Staking on the other hand is also expensive but you have to buy certain amount of coins and then stored permanently in your wallet and you get stakes for the storing the coins and be online.  The good thing about staking is that whenever you decide to quit you can just sell all the coins and get your amount back provided the value of the coin remains same or increased your buying price.
4707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange platform are why ieos have gone quiet on: October 06, 2019, 05:05:24 AM
When ieo started with binance, it roused other exchanges to kickstart the same
But recent discovery tell us that exchange platform charge a lot to list ieo projects for ieo

And also some exchanges conduct ghost ieo and list token to drive in investors only to exit

If ico ieo sto and ito isn’t the way; how then can serious good projects conduct a crowdfunding to help their idea ??

We need to realize why the IEO ,ICO and other ways are failing ? Because all of them focus on getting the investments from the people and do not focus on the development. If a project team focus on the roadmap and deliver its key milestones right on time, the investors will come to them even if they are using ico , crowdfunding or private sales.

4709  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be careful of Bitcoins giveaways that are too good to be true on: October 05, 2019, 10:09:44 AM
It offers 2X of the amount of money you send in.

I can't believe that people fall in those scams. Have you ever seen in real life someone tell you "Transfer me some money in my bank account. I will transfer you back 2x."

Why would someone do this?
People are insane with bitcoin...

Bitcoin is not a tool to make people get rich quick. It is just a currency. It works as a currency.

Not only online, people scam by giving people offer to double their money in real life too.
I know people in my country who come up with such business and innocent people deposit local currency with them with the hope to get it double.
Online scamming is easier because the scammer identity remains hidden.
We should avoid any such mouth watering  offers and stop being greedy.
4710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice - A small mistake emptied my wallet. on: October 05, 2019, 06:12:24 AM
A small mistake on dice made my wallet get emptied. Only mistake is that I didn't added an additional zero to the bet amount. Instead of 0.00005 btc I mistakenly placed 0.0005 btc. Further on the consecutive bets went for a double the value. This all of the sudden emptied my wallet. I didn't watched the wallet until the bet amount in the tab turned zero.
-snip-
Well this is nothing to regret. This is gambling and shit like this does happen a lot. People do make such mistakes. You would have been more happy if had won the bet by mistake right?
You are also to be blamed too for this mistake. You are placing a bet using automated betting system and you didn't bother to check the settings? Think of the loss as a lesson for you and just move on.

Who knows that if you have a loss this money by mistake you would have continued played the  dice games and eventually lost it in few games.
Just chill out and  this is a big lesson for you that you need to double check the amount in gambling.
Generally always have a close look at the wallet address and the amount before you press the send button for any crypto related transactions.
4711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Rugby World Cup predictions on: October 05, 2019, 05:14:31 AM
This tournament is getting boring now. We are having too many one sided matches, back to back.

I do not think so that the tournament is boring. Which country are you representing in this world cup ? If your country is winning you must be enjoying it.  Also you can see the jam pack stadiums in all the matches and enthusiasm in the players nd crowd is just fantastic. The scoring line may disappoint but if you are rugby lover, this is the best one and a half month of matches to enjoy.
4712  Economy / Gambling / Re: 2dice.io - new design - new impressions! Play for free, test your luck on: October 04, 2019, 05:13:11 PM
Those who agree with public selling of the website and talk about transparency are right. But the main problem is not with transparency.
Any kind of doubt and uncertainity about the future of a crypto-related website causes users to leave the website. Now the future of 2dice is completely unclear. This makes the website untrusted to gamblers. Why should people play in 2dice while the future is unclear and there are many other websites?

Exactly, the site is for a public sale. Everyone knows it is a much trusted site than a brand new gambling site. What if a scammer with an evil mind purchase this site and then scam people funds in few months ?
4713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: October 04, 2019, 04:32:23 PM
Gambling is an industry that provides jobs to millions of people around the world.
There might be people living off on gambling wins but they'd soon run out of luck and end bankrupt and might even go insane or turn into a criminal.

Gambling a Profession. No  Never Not at all

How can you rely on something which is unstable and unpredictable.  It can be considered as a game of fun but it cannot be something which can earn you constant income for the rest of your life
4714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 01, 2019, 04:59:18 PM
It may not be a bad strategy to bet in favor of Sri Lanka for the third ODI match. The gambling sites are giving them very low odds (most of them at 9/2). Looking at their spirited performance during the 2nd match, I would say that there is a chance of upset.
This is exactly what I am thinking of doing. If Sri Lanka pull off an upset here, it is possible to win big money. However, they need to perform well overall to have a fighting chance against the powerful Pakistan team.

The main problem with Sri Lanka is that their batting looks very weak. Remember that the top order collapsed completely against Pakistan during the second ODI. At one point, they were struggling at 28/5, before Shehan Jayasuriya and Dasun Shanaka rescued them from complete annihilation. They needs to strengthen their batting, but I guess that the main issue is that their players haven't got enough time to acclimatize to the conditions (due to the climate and security situation).

Now coming to the odds, I would say that 9/2 is as good as it get. And some of the sites have even better odds. I just checked BetWay, and they are giving Sri Lanka 11/2. 10Cric have them at 6/1. These odds are very tempting.  Grin

Some gamblers love to take risks to go against the majority and get better odds in case of win. Since Pakistan team is unpredictable and no one is 100% sure how will they perform in the last match, it is worth to take risk by betting on Srilanka for the last one day.
4715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin and casinos on: September 29, 2019, 09:51:56 AM
I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

Do you know that one day bitcoin will become a main stream currency and we will be using it in physical places like hotels, restaurants and shops. At that time bitcoin will be used in physical casino also.

Don't be much hypothetical here, we've known bitcoin for so long, we've known its capability but let us not forget that it contain high volatility rate which is more likely the reason why people would easily give up on crypto. There are already establishments that acknowledge cryptocurrency, most of them are well known companies across the globe. I don't think physical casinos would do the same as they are regulated by the government, being that said casinos also have workers to be paid not by means of bitcoin but fiat. We need more time, much time to transition into cashless society.

Bitcoin volatility can only be reduced when it is widely spread everywhere and bitcoin is distributed. If few whales hold major portion of the bitcoins, then this manipulation cannot be stopped

If wishes were horses, beggars might ride

Or it is easier said than done (not plagiarism but a couple of witticisms). To cut a long story short, Bitcoin is good money while fiat is bad money, with the implication being that people prefer to hoard bitcoins and spend dollars (or whatever). Yeah, I know it sounds a little bit like paradox given Bitcoin's extreme volatility but the main premise still stands (good versus bad). What that means is that there is little to no chance for Bitcoin to be evenly distributed, ever, which in turn essentially means volatility is here to stay and we have to live with that

Also we will have a phase when the fiat will completely be replaced by the digital currency and at that time, even the physical casino will be using the crypto. Although this may take a decade or even more to happen

But that's unlikely to happen for the reasons stated. However, personally, I have doubts whether we actually need that land casinos started to accept crypto when there is no lack of online ones with which you can gamble your coins away in a relaxed and cozy manner without leaving your armchair and constantly looking back over your shoulder (though you can still safely keep your fingers crossed)

So your point of view is that bitcoin can never be able to become the major currency of the world or rather a one world currency Bitcoin is not possible ?
4716  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♨️🎲 WINDICE.io 🎲 0.3 BTC Wagering Contest 🔰 Progressive Faucet💰 Jackpots 🎁❤ on: September 29, 2019, 08:08:49 AM
I do not recommend anyone to get involved in this casino. The thing is that it is adjusted so that you lose. Namely:
1. The minimum bet is 10 satoshi.
2. Minimum sending between users is allowed only if you have more than 0.002 bitcoins on your balance. That is, the administration itself forces you to play a minimum of 0.002 or more decent amounts, which naturally you will not succeed.
3. The commission for the withdrawal of 0.0002, which is just a wild sum for this kind of institution.

I do not see how these three parameters will be the reason to lose at windice ? All these three factors do not contribute to the winning or losing.

As per my experience at windice, I do not find any reason why we should not  gamble there. It's perfectly safe and enjoyable to gamble at this site.

4718  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | V2 & New games out now! 👽 on: September 29, 2019, 05:28:27 AM
So it means that if a person have good number of referrals, he can earn good amount of commission without having to gamble himself.  Wagering 20 btc is not tough, and you will get 0.02 BTC. That's a kool amount. You just need to focus on how to attract the new gamblers so that they can signup under your link and you earn free commissions.

Very true, imagine if you get an active referral and a "Whale". You will get a passive income everyday by referral commision. Well it's not only happen on stake. All gambling sites, trading sites and else also have referrals program that you can earn from your refs.

The referral commissions earned from trading and other legit sites are very less. But anyone can earn good amount of passive income from commission at stake.com because of the good referral commissions they offer on wagering.

(...)

It is the same as Rakeback from VIP.
It's 10% of the wagering from your Referral's Game's House Edge
So if the Game's House Edge is 1% it's 0,1% Commission.
~

Thank you for your explanation! It looks more sane now. Smiley I knew that "10% of what your referrals wager", like you said earlier, was just too impossible to be true. Smiley

One more dive took over Bitcoin since yesterday
Do you think it will return back to normal?

Regarding the price of Bitcoin, it's going back up, little by little, already. I think we will see $10k again in a week.
If you have so many referrals on your account, you can negotiate about the rate commission. I have a friend who have so many referrals on stake and he got a special commission rate for it.
About the bitcoin price, i'm not sure about that. It's been a rough week for bitcoin so far.

How does stake pay commission on referrals ? On the basis of number of referrals or on the amount the referrals wager ?
Also let me know the normal commission rate which stake pays ?

10% of house edge is standard. This means if your referrals wager a cumulative of 20 BTC you'll earn 0.02 BTC. I do know that stake will increase the commission, 30% or so - including their rakeback.

I think people do not realize the potential in the project as yet or maybe they are waiting for the swap which will be a turning point for HOLO.

Holo reached all time high around 42-43 satoshi, while i feel it will easily cross 100 - 200 sat in the next altcoins bull run.
