I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

Sounds interesting, never thought of it haha. But i guess you would have to divide casinos to a place where only crypto can be used and to a place where cash is used.

There are already tons of casino games that we could play using crypto you only need to know the website.
And there are also some people who use some online games to gamble and have fun for example tongits go and other kinds of apps too.
And I don't really think that people or high roller would be interested on going at a casino just to play with their crypto specially if they could just easily do it anywhere they want.

Not on the internet. I was wondering if there is any casino that offers to gamble with crypto. If not is it ever going to happen or is there no demand for such casinos

In my place, bitcoin on casinos is still not happening because of some restrictions from the government and because there are no laws right not that can support and make bitcoin legal. This is actually good for a crypto gambler who wants to experience playing on a casinos using their bitcoin. We are referring to the mass adoption about this one and hopefully it can still happen in the future.

This topic belongs to gambling section, and for sure it can be discussed more by the cryptogambler.  Smiley

The subject was actually very suitable for the gambling section. There are many cryptocurrencies based gambling chances on the internet, but I haven't heard them in real ones yet.

Imagine that you can gambling with BTC in Las Vegas. It would be awesome.

I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin

Truth be told, I've never been to a real casino

I mean a real one, not some room with slot machines and similar stuff. But from what I know (okay, from what I've seen in the movies) people don't use cash there directly. Casinos use gaming chips, i.e. small discs used instead of paper money and coins. Then you can redeem the chips (provided you have any left, of course) for real cash. To me, Bitcoin would be cumbersome to exchange these chips for in these circumstances

There are already tons of casino games that we could play using crypto you only need to know the website.

OP asks about real casinos (think Las Vegas here)

I think we're a long way off before you can gamble in a land based casino with Bitcoin. That's going to be an online thing for years to come. Offline casinos can't accept them for regulations to begin with. Beyond that, the volatility of BTC price would make it unrealistic. The casino themselves would then be gambling by accepting the Bitcoin in the first place. I hope I'm wrong and I can play blackjack in Las Vegas with Bitcoin. But I've been going to Vegas for a very long time. It doesn't seem likely anytime soon...

Even though it is possible to gamble with bitcoin, those chips can be permanent. It would not have been reasonable to wait for minutes for the BTC transfer to be approved to play at a casino.

maybe, but as I far as I know in my country there are no casino who accepts bitcoin. I think they still don't recognize bitcoin as a proper currency
and still see a lot of flaws about it's system. also they might be considering it's volatile nature as to reason why they don't accept it.

People use a huge pile of cash on slots, chips are used on gaming tables (poker, blackjack, live roulette, etc..). Yeah usually in movies they show you gaming tables and chips.

I was thinking more of gambling with bitcoin on slots like you would sit in front of the slot, type in your wallet address and start gambling. I guess for table chips it wouldn't make sense yet. But what do you think about future? I'm wondering if there will be demand for that..

Agreed. But i still believe it would attract a lot of people to go and try to gamble with crypto as it would be interesting.

The D and the Golden Gate in Downtown Las Vegas have been accepting Bitcoin for a while now:
https://www.goldengatecasino.com/blog/best-ways-utilize-bitcoin-vegas/

Ironically they appear to accept it for pretty much anything but gambling.

It could happen, but I guess it will take years for a land based casinos to adopt bitcoin as means to play. They needed to overall their systems, slots machines, their cashiers, their table operators.

But me being a traditional player, I would like to see this happen in the future though. I can just go and play, used my mobile wallet, QR code apps and still get the feel and the ambiance of a land based casinos. So let's see how it goes.

I think you are putting the security of your wallet in a high level of risks with that particular action. Because if I'm not mistaken, you cannot access your wallet without the keys, so might as well you will type in your private keys. I dont think of any better security than using your own device to access your wallet, not the other machines specially in a gambling area. Just my two cents.

Btw, the topic tackles more on gambling, how about moving these in gambling discussions. You might get a lot of answers to your inquiry, theres a lot of gamblers in that particular thread.

There was about 2 years ago a post/thread here on bitcointalk on this. One of the users has found in Las Vegas a casino that was (also) accepting Bitcoin.

Since then there are probably many more.

I've found a reddit link on the same subject: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6zyph0/you_can_use_bitcoin_at_casinos_in_vegas/

Well, I don't know any offline casino where you can play with Bitcoin at the moment. But there certainly are LOTS of online casinos where you can gamble with numerous cryptocurrencies not just Bitcoin. Of course that in the future casinos will adopt BTC as they adopted cards. I imagine me going to a roullete table and just swiping my phone to enter the game. Bets would be made virtually, but the dealer would throw the ball in real time.

Of course that you can use live casino rooms in some websites instead of going to the actual physical place Grin

I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

Why not? We already can use crypto to pay taxes in some countries

So why not?

There are casinos in Europe that take bitcoin, and yes I mean physical casinos.

Check out Austria Casinos
