4701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin doesn't reach $500K in 3 years.... on: July 18, 2020, 12:48:50 PM
He was the Hypeman and the Shitcoin Pump of The Year. We all know he isn't going to do what he promised and it was all done for the hype and money he was getting at the time. I'll never forget how much he helped with the pump & dump of the markets at the time - or, in other words, with making the poor even poorer.

If I'm not mistaken, he was voted as crypto influencer of the year, forgot what year it is, either 2018 or 2019, (if my memory serves me right). But he then changes his tune, by it's too late, people really know what kind of personality John is and his career his over as far as being this so called influencer.

If this is how well he delivers his promises, then I'd imagine how well he would if he became the President. Cheesy

I'm sure he won't win if he ever decides to run again for the US Presidency.
4702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tron's Justin Sun Offers $1 Million Bounty For Twitter Hackers on: July 18, 2020, 11:37:13 AM
Another Justin Sun classic. He must have neen the apprentice of McAfee since this is also the way McAfee started before being one of the most hated personality in the crypto scene. Whilr I do not have any problems with Justin doing Justin things, I feel like he should leave these legal matters to the authorities. We get it, the dude has money, but it's obnoxious that he's offering it in exchange of the dox of the hackers before turning them over to the authorities.

Speaking of John Mcafee, this will be the anniversary when he said that he is going to eat his manhood if bitcoin didn't go to $500K in 2020.

Regarding Justin, I agree that this is classic move from him, he really knows when to ride on a hype and make a noise about it. For me this is nothing but just publicity stunt, he has a history of doing this and the timing about his supposedly TRON 4.0 released is perfect.
4703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu on: July 18, 2020, 11:09:14 AM
Both boxers had low records on winning by knock out. So this battle will be more on scoring. I did not see also jeff horn could knock out his opponent same as with Tim.

I am in favor of Horn because he has the play and in regards to experience Horn has better exposure to boxing. Horn has the advantage in this match.

My bet goes to Horn. If Tim wins in this match then I will going to shave my head right away. I need it also for I becoming bald.

I also voted for Tszyu to win and then I was surprised to see one vote goes to Horn and I wonder who is that member.  Grin.

It's your call, maybe you are going for the underdog to win the fight. Shaving head in this pandemic is the "in" right now, Lol, because obviously, after months of lockdown, all we can do is to cut our own hair, win-win situation for you.  Smiley. Best of luck in your bet.
4704  Economy / Speculation / Re: Old grandmas funds to pump bitcoin? on: July 17, 2020, 11:15:02 PM
I do not think that there is any logic on using funds to buy bitcoin when the people are so old and their investments do not really need to go up too much. I mean these people only have like 20 years to live on average at the very best cases, bitcoin is not something that is gradually and slowly increasing method, you go buy bonds or sure stocks or whatever when you want slow but guaranteed stuff. What happens when grandma loses all her money in bitcoin?

I mean she is old, she can't just go out and work to make it back right? So, she would be basically put to a government house or maybe even worse, left alone to die. That is why I would assume that bitcoin for older people doesn't make sense even if they manage to buy it and store it, it is too risky for them to do it.

I think that's where Fidelity and Kingdom Trust enters the picture, to help those retirees to make the decision to whether invest their hard earn retirees money to bitcoin.

However, I don't link the idea though and I do hope that they will simply enter their money, after all they have work so hard for it for many years. So probably there will be no pump in the price, and I hope that retirees will have someone to get second opinion because its very dangerous to invest on bitcoin and lost their money on it.
4705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Altcoins Failed To Win Over Bitcoin on: July 17, 2020, 10:13:51 PM
Now, what are the reasons behind this failure?

(1) Bitcoin is the prime mover - so obviously, it won the hearts of early adopters and it slowly gain some attention, reaches ATH in 2017 that no other coin has gone. So it has perks of being the first coin in the market.

(2) There were attempts in the past, ETH (Flippening) XRP (Rippening) and BCH (Bitcoin Cash), they didn't succeed because they don't have the support of crypto community although they are already that big during their attempt to overtake bitcoin

(3) Altcoin price are based on bitcoin's movement, or all altcoin has been traded with bitcoin as their pair.

(4) Most altcoins are shitcoins anyways, that's why that stigma sticks to the altcoin market.
4706  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] BAT token fake airdrop! They will steal your wallet's private key. on: July 17, 2020, 09:46:11 PM
Thanks, I guess with the recent twitter hack and making it a headline news, I do hope that people are going to be aware now that there's no way that we are going to get free money regardless if it is bitcoin or any other coins like in this case, scammers have targeted BAT token for their fake airdrop.

It's already a big lessons for crypto community, and we don't want to see and hear that these noobs are still falling for the oldest trick in the book.
4707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu on: July 17, 2020, 12:22:04 PM

JEFF HORN Is the DOG!

Jeff Horn as the underdog, I think a lot of bettors would bet on him as he also have a good record.
I only knew Horn when he fought with Manny but this fighter Tim Tszyu, I really have no idea about him and why he is the favorite on this fight.

Going to check in the youtube gain, and before that, I'll watch again the fight between Manny and Jeff Horn, lol.
I hope you guys would share some betting odds from our popular crypto sportsbook or casinos here in the forum.

Very interesting that Jeff Horn is the underdog here, although he is the older of the two, maybe this will give him enough motivation to win this fight. And this will be favourable for bettors who loves underdog as the odds is very attractive.

Sportbet.io doesn't offer it yet, maybe because because the date is still more than a month and the schedule might change depending on the status of the pandemic in Australia.
4708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People still falls for Bitcoin doubling scheme and fake giveaways on: July 17, 2020, 11:31:17 AM
Yep i feel bad for those people who lost their money because of this giveaway trick. Also, i dont know why they believe on that. I mean its obviously a scam why people still get trapped. Its 2020 i though people way more smarter.

Again, as I have said in my previous posts, it really looks believable in the eye because it came from an official twitter account. No way that you will find out that it was a scam people pulled off by bad actors. But of course, we really felt bad for them, that is still money that they have lost. And we are still in the pandemic and every money counts. So if you lost that to the scammers, then it's a double whammy for you. Hope that this will be the last time that we are going to hear people falling for this kind of trick.
4709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Twitter hacked on: July 17, 2020, 11:01:19 AM
Every of prominent twitter accounts were hacked and they all tried to convince people that the giveaway were real. It's still surprising how so many people are falling for such scams.

Can you differentiate and know before hand that those accounts are hacked? That is the main reason why people have fallen for this scam because the tweet itself come from those verified accounts.

No business would ever provide money for free and even if they did, they'd not ask users to send a lot of money first. Crypto is being infamous for such scams both due to the scammers and people falling for it. The largest hack in the social media till date just to get some bitcoin.

I agree, but then again the argument that you really don't have prior knowledge about the hack, makes you think that this is really legitimate. So it's not crypto's fault though, it's not the system that has fault here, but security lapses on part of Twitter.
4710  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Looking Bullish now? on: July 16, 2020, 11:36:05 PM
Definitely, we would have see another bullish momentum from Bitcoin;  if the recent hack wasn't carried out by these hacker's on tweeter accounts holders. With this happenings, the price of Bitcoin is likely to drop again from next week and this could lead the price of Bitcoin down to $8000. Although, the beauty of this could land bitcoin into bullish in short time.  Maybe Jack(CEO tweeter) as a strong bitcoin enthusiasts, may have something we can't imagine but let wait for this.
We have not reached the bullish season mate and if the hack issue didnt happen there won't be any bullish as you presume but only a slightly uptrend season because the market seems to maintain/revolving around the price range of $8800-$9500. However, i don't see any reason why the twitter hack issue will affect the price of the bitcoin market as most people think because the vulnerability happens from twitter end.

Regardless of the hacks? I don't think that we are going to be in the bullish market. On the contrary, we see some slight dip during the twitter hacking news, but still not enough to bring the price to sub $8K.

I agree that the twitter incident won't affect bitcoin per se, but we all know how powerful media is, they scan spin it to look like bitcoin is being used by the criminals. But look at the long term, we might see some bullish signals if we enter the last quarter of this year.
4711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning: crypto related twitter accounts (Binance, Bitcoin, TRON, &more) hacked on: July 16, 2020, 10:54:14 PM
Very brave to hack a famous exchanges twitter account, there will be many victims with this phishing attack. Moreover, Twitter account followers
that's been hacked so much. I'm worried that many newbies will fall victim, thank you for creating this topic. At least the members of this forum
has received information related to phishing attacks carried out by the cryptoforhealth scam site.

It's bold actually, but this are criminals that we are talking to, the brave their exploits the better for them. Obviously, many newbies have fallen already as the criminals btc address is growing and many are sending sats and think that they can double it.

Lessons learn for Twitter here, this could be one of the biggest news this 2020 in the tech sector and very bad for Jack as it gives negative signal to the company itself as there are a big loophole and lapses on their side.
4712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance upcoming delisting on: July 14, 2020, 11:18:19 PM
This should serve as a big warning to the project team that they are really lagging behind, binance team will only delist coins that aren't that active anymore, lacking in area like liquidity, volume and marketcap, it's not the end but it's left for the project team

That's correct, inactive projects would affect the reputation of the business too, as much as possible Binance are getting rid of non active projects while giving a room for the new coins which has potential. When they will get delisted in Binance exchange, they already loss the reputation and the market as well and its price will be affected heavily as it's expected that people will dump.

And I think projects should also take that in consideration when they coins/tokens get listed on Binance. If they have low volume or the price really suffers, then chances are that they are going to be removed so they should be prepared for that and not blame Binance if they got delisted.

LUN (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/lunyr/) currently at $0.983153 USD per token, but I doubt it could still maintain that price when out in Binance, hopefully it would not be worthless and Huobi Global here will pick up that loss volume.

This is one case why I said the above, they are enjoying a good price, but if they got delisted can they maintain it? I highly doubt as well. As investors might move to the next big coins. Unless the project is really solid, devs are active and it has gain the support of the community.
4713  Economy / Economics / Re: Where Markets are Still Free on: July 14, 2020, 10:21:06 PM
As said by the article, bitcoin and gold are free markets. And this should be taken as an advantage by small investors like me and you. Before the giant financing companies gets to bitcoin, we have it.

I think Gold has been taken advantage by manipulators already as it has been in the market for many years now. As compare to bitcoin which is still very young and everyone can join despite the price getting almost on the 5 digits.

They'll create such a boost to the market if ever they start announcing their interest and venture to bitcoin. While they are not yet here - most of them or probably they were already here but chose not to announce, get some bitcoins and hold it as early as today.

I'm under the impression that there are a lot of institutional money already in the bitcoin market. I believed in started in 2017 prior to the bull run with CME and CBoE open their bitcoin future trading and then we all know that others have follow. And then we have investors with deep pockets hiring hedge fund managers to trade for them. And that's why we have seen banks offering this services as well. But there are still leg room for us average Joe to invest while we can. It doesn't mean buy 1 whole bitcoin, but slowly we can accumulate small portions.
4714  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade by yourself on: July 14, 2020, 10:06:48 PM
I don't believe subscribing for signals is wrong, it doesn't stops you from learning and growing, you learn daily and gather experience from what you see happening in the market. I don't think you can just rush into trading as a newbie without seeking for advice or help from an expert, so as not to lose your capital.

But the thing with this trading signal group is that they don't offer any analysis, so how can you learn from them? They will just tell you to buy this and that, they might offer you graphs and something, but at the end of the day you still need to research and learn everything by yourself.

Of course, you don't need to rush, but some old school and traditional crypto traders that I know in the last 3-4 years didn't join any trading groups, they learn everything by themselves, by getting their hands dirty in the beginning and learn thru experience. Most of them suffered a loss in the beginning, but they didn't quit and educate themselves and didn't commit the same mistakes.
4715  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the price of Bitcoin can exceed 10 thousand dollars at the present on: July 14, 2020, 09:34:00 PM
No, BTC doesn't really look that strong atm in order to be breaking $10k currently because nobody's gone insane to bet on anything except on their own lives in order to save the money and live a good life which won't be possible in future due to the fact that this pandemic has left us with almost nothing and has the potential to make a lot of people die due to starvation.

Exactly, nobody is willing to pull any big buy order to really create this sort of FOMO and drama and make some noise in the market.

These reasons are enough for BTC not to reach $10k as of now because nobody's investing, and it's a huge achievement for BTC to even remain close to $10k these days while the whole stock market crisis is yet to recover, but I see BTC to remain stable at this price for many more months to come.

We are still in this pandemic mode, nobody is investing but it is good that we there are strong support at $9k. I think some days ago the price went into $9400-$9500 but it wasn't enough. No momentum was build around it thats why the price didn't go to $10k.
4716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: TikTok is a new social media source for promoting cryptocurrencies? on: July 13, 2020, 10:40:15 PM
I don't know if you guys heard that TikTok apps is allegedly being used as a camouflaged by Chinese government as a spy tool or apps, and even USA and India have banned it already, so just be careful if you are going to used this.

As far as using it as a promotional tool, of course everyone can do it. But then again it will be used for all the wrong reason and you might find this as no different from one of the most hated and fraudulent practice, a pump and dump trading signal group.
4717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Who should Ryan Garcia fight? on: July 13, 2020, 10:25:56 PM
I'm also inclined that indeed this fight is a set-up for Garcia for that big fight in the near future. I just can't understand why Garcia kept on whining on why he has not gotten that big money fights, have they not communicating?

When it comes to betting, i'm sure Garcia would be the huge favorite here and as i've said that if the odds is 10x for Campbell then still i would bet for the later  Grin. In boxing, there is no such thing as an easy fight and the probability of an upset is always there and i love to gamble for that lol.

That's for sure you're taking the risk even though the fight has no assurance for the choosen boxer. But based on your analysis mate, I think it's convincing since you're pertaining to Garcia as the most in demand. Am not really used to betting with boxing because I only loved to watch the most interesting fight of best fighters like pacman.

Pacman is on the sunset of his career now mate and if you really a fan of this sweet science of boxing you will be interested on the new faces of boxing like Ryan Garcia, Stevenson and many others, you just have to follow each of them to get an update.

Or better way to put it, Maybe Ryan Garcia could be the next Pacman for all we know.

With regards to betting on boxing, though a slim probability but it is not always a sure win for the favorite on the bookies, an upset also happens and that's where the underdog bettors won some substantial amount of money, small bet high winnings, but as i have said, it seldom happens but frequently among the Pinoy boxers  Smiley.

The last great upset is AJ vs Ruiz I,  that's another good lesson for gamblers to really bet on the underdogs because we really don't know what's going to happen. It could be one punch that will change the complexion of the fight, or complete domination of the underdogs, like Ruiz did to AJ or Pacman did to Marco Antonio Barrera in their first fight also.
4718  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hashrate vs price chart on: July 13, 2020, 10:09:11 PM
Hi.

I was looking at the hashrate vs price chart and I am wondering if there actually is any correlation between those two. If hashrate drops significantly do you think it would affect BTC price at all?

You just have to look at the recent crash this March, and you will see that there are correlations. When the price goes down hard, the hash rate also decline. I think you can start your investigations from there.

In my opinion, even tho halving just occurred we should expect hashrate to be lower, we can still see it is stable, so I guess not so many miners closed their mining farms.
It is expected though that some mining farms have closed already, because it's either they don't have the new mining gear and obviously it will be hard for them as there are no profits to be made.

Do you think some of them are currently mining with loss? and if so, should we expect hashrate to drop soon?

I think the exodus has stopped already. On the contrary, I believed that there could be new players who wanted to join and enter the picture after this halving. So when some door closes, another one open.
4719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upgrade Stole My Bitcoin on: July 13, 2020, 09:34:56 PM
Most likely he fell for a fake Electrum. Remember that a few days ago, Electrum just upgraded and release a new version 4.0.1. So we don't know where he the OP gets the message, maybe in an email because base on my experienced, there are no message in ver 3.3.8 that you need to upgrade to 4.0.1. But if you know that they have a new release, you have to manually update the version by yourself, download the latest and then verify. And this is where the OP might have fallen, he got a message not from the official Electrum, but from a cyber criminal.
4720  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA indicates a bull run is coming on: July 13, 2020, 01:32:31 PM
How about bitcoin's dominance slowly declining though? Is this another indication that investors are shifting to altcoin market now? IF this is the case then we might see this trend continues and that the supposedly bull run is not going to come as expected?

And we also have to understand where is the money will come as well. We are still in the pandemic and there are reports surfacing already that a second wave is imminent. And this may cause people to panic again, cash out or simply hold their fiat and not invest at all until everything settle down again.
