4701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 36th America's Cup 2021 discussion on: February 21, 2021, 08:05:20 AM
...and here we have it, Luna Rossa after winning both races today are in the
America's Cup against Emirates Team New Zealand, unbelievable how Ineos
have not been able to take more wins against Luna Rossa.

In todays racing it sounds like they never looked like taking a win in either race.

Race 7 saw Luna Rossa take the win almost 2 minutes ahead of Ineos.
And in race 8 the lead was about 1 minute.
4702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 21, 2021, 07:57:52 AM
^^ Yeah, Osaka has the form and the mental patient just like Serena when she was just starting her career. And 4/4 in a Grand Slam? that's huge already in his career.

For Tsitsipas, definitely we do hope that we will come back strong after this lost. I'm expecting him to learn from this, his win from Nadal and subsequent lost to Medvedev.

Djokovic wil raise the trophy for this year, unless Medvedev played solid tennis and has the mentality of the champion.

It will be interesting to see what "antics" Djokovic gets up to when its a close match
and Medvedev is his equal or slightly better. Its going to be close.
4703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something to consider when selling your BTC... on: February 20, 2021, 09:47:31 PM
Currently Bitcoin is moving up in price fast, selling now in order to buy back at a lower
price may not work out and if there is a correction it may not arise until $70k or $80k
or more. Unless we really have to we shouldnt sell into the hands of whales who are
putting Bitcoin into long term storage

4704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have a Bitcoin exit strategy? on: February 20, 2021, 08:27:46 PM
Well the bull run may not end this year or next, who's going to be selling vast amounts of Bitcoin?

The buyers now are a mix of Retail  buyers and long term Hodl investors.

As mk4 states, Hodl, DCA and buy as much as possible works for me.

At some point I will have to spend Bitcoin because every last amount of FIAT
I own is gone into Bitcoin but generally I'm Hodling.
4705  Economy / Speculation / Re: next Bitcoin price correction WHEN? on: February 20, 2021, 04:04:48 PM
Firstly, why does there have to be a correction?

and secondly, by correction I would guess a lot of people are expecting a 20%+ but
it might be 10% drop.

Its a very different market compared to 2020, the majority of Bitcoin being bought
now might not be sold until the long term, whenever that will be, 10, 20 or 30 years
and beyond
4706  Economy / Speculation / Re: A guy celebrating Bitcoin reaching $100 on: February 20, 2021, 01:27:03 PM
Great to see this historical video and the guys reaction.

We have all been experiencing these emotions in the last month especially
and even today as we pass $57k. I too hope he is still in Bitcoin and maybe
on the forum perhaps?
4707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 20, 2021, 10:34:49 AM
Delighted for her (and me!)

She played brilliantly, Brady put up a gallant challenge but Osaka's power and skill
showed from 3-0 in the first set to win 6 straight games.

Brady did well in her first GS final, if she can stay injury free hopefully she can
continue and improve her game.
4708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where would you sell if you had bought 10 Bitcoin at $100? on: February 20, 2021, 08:22:30 AM
I am treating Bitcoin these days as an emergency fund, I won't sell until I don't really need cash. To be honest, having Bitcoin taught me to become more thrifty or wise on spending some money.

Selling Bitcoin for taking profits is not bad at all, we can still buy anytime. Some people have their own price target, so maybe they will sell some portion of their holdings just to buy some things or use it in good ways. Just like what I did before, I sold some of my Bitcoin to buy a laptop, and that laptop helps me to earn more Bitcoin buy working on some gigs that paying Bitcoin .

Im thinking similar to you, I have definitely become more thrifty with money since
getting into Bitcoin and also thrifty with Bitcoin too. There are any number of things
I could buy now but I'm holding firm until next month. I need to get some more
home renovations done so I will yse a small amount of Bitcoin.

If I had bought  Bitcoin at $100 and have the same outlook as I do now I would still
have some, but not all of them, I would have used some for essential purchases.

I bought my first Bitcoin at $1000 and still have them although I did sell some
in December 2017.

4710  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now a TRILLION dollar asset! on: February 19, 2021, 10:01:35 PM
I joined here when the market cap was $4.6bn... Doubt we'd have believed anyone bitcoin would do 24500% in that (fairly) short time of 6 years...

It's an impressive high and it doesn't look like we're losing momentum either (2 trillion+ feels quite likely now - or 6 Grin).

imagine back then if someone had said to you "6 years from now Bitcoin will be $50,000"
That would be hard to imagine. Bitcoin is looking now like we can throw any number at it and
its likely to reach it.
4711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remember today's date 19th Feb, 2021. BTC crossed $1 trillion marketcap on: February 19, 2021, 06:47:06 PM
another Milestone reached today for sure.
$1trillion market cap will mean the super wealthy will look at it even more and
the it is now on the radar of the likes of Amazon and Google.
4712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 18, 2021, 09:37:42 PM
Its not easy for tsitsipas to get to the final because medvedev is a though openent and i think he is better than tsitsipas at the moment  i bet on him going to the finals and he even has a chance to win the title.
Agree with this, Medvedev is the most constant player in the last 6 months or so and he will be tough obstacle. Tsitsi maybe has a bigger talent but he is nowhere near as solid as Medvedev. Their H2H is also heavily leaning on Russian side but Tsitis did manage to win in their last encounter so that is something.

I will probably bet on over games on this match. The line is set on 39.5 which seams like a done deal if this match goes to at least 4 sets and it should. One tie break in those 4 should be more than enough. Both players are very good on serve.

Medvedev plays Tennis like he is playing Chess, and he actually does play Chess
along with the Playstation! I think he is the one to watch for the future.

McEnroe praised him ahead of his defeat to Nadal in the 2019 US open final,
its clear he is blossoming lately.

Medvedev is ‘like a chess master’ - McEnroe praises star ahead of US Open final vs Nadal

I do like Tsitsipas a lot, he has a good attitude, is hard working and clearly
has talent, Normally I wouldnt mind either to win.
4713  Economy / Economics / Re: Global debt soars to 356% of GDP on: February 18, 2021, 09:28:28 PM
COVID has been the best thing to ever happen to Bitcoin, nearly every developed country relied on "borrowing" in order to mitigate the short term economic effects of COVID to provide relief, but at some point, you have to end up paying back the money you printed. You will see countries default and their currencies crash.

oh there are serious times ahead, Global debt cannot keep climbing.
When the currencies crash, the stock markets have to be affected
big time, Will this affect Bitcoin negatively or positively I wonder?

4716  Economy / Economics / Re: Institutional investors are buying Bitcoin's future... How do we stop this? on: February 18, 2021, 08:40:46 PM
The answer is simple - we can’t stop anyone who has the money and intent to buy BTC to buy as much and when they want. Ordinary people have had the opportunity for more than 10 years to invest in Bitcoin at ridiculously low prices compared to these today. If for the first 5-6 years there was doubt whether the whole thing would come to life or fail, after that a lot of things became clearer - so I'll ask a counter-question - why didn't the average Joe ask this question you're asking now 5-6 years ago? Well, probably because most of them are not here because of technology, but only because of profit - and such people do not mind that big investors invest money in BTC.

I hope that some new solutions will be found so that miners remain interested, and at the same time that the fees are such that the average user does not give up on-chain transactions. The next 10 years may be crucial - even Satoshi once wrote something in the style that in 20 years there will be a lot of transactions, or none at all.

Good points Lucius but you also have to remember a large portion of people who are
in Bitcoin now didnt know about it 5-6 years ago.

I'm a little worried also about the vast amounts of Bitcoin being bought up which may
never be in circulation again for 10 or 20 years and when Bitcoin is available for sale
they too may be snapped up and added to the long term hold.

These actions have a "positive" effect on Bitcoins price and as ordinary people liquidate
to FIAT to buy their Lambo's the whales will buy to hold.

Osaka and Williams could be the like the finals as well for the women's side.

Serena Williams lost straight sets from Osaka, Osaka is currently the strongest champion candidate.
It seems that it is very difficult for Serena to collect the GS title again at the age of almost 40 years but she has inspired many women in the world with all her achievements

It is difficult for Serena, she is getting older while the younger ones are developing and getting stronger,
both in the womens and mens games.

My small outright bet on Osaka is still live, I have her at 6/1 to win.

I also have Medvedev the tactician to take the mens title.

4719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: North Korean Hackers Indicted by Cryptocurrency Attacks on: February 18, 2021, 07:23:26 AM
or what if the hackers are actually government agents. North Korea have a lot of economic
sanctions and it trades only with China and Russia. hacking would be a way of generating
revenue especially from countries which they are at odds with.

Extradition - I wouldnt expect it to happen
4720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 17, 2021, 07:41:11 PM
and Rafa was looking comfortable for the first 2 sets then Tsitsipas
turned it around, such mental strength on top of the skill level.

Rafa made some really simple errors though in the last set.

I'm happy for Stefanos, looks like the younger talent is pressuring
the old guard.
