Keep an eye on announcements section, almost all projects post their anns there. You are likely to find gems this way rather than trusting other websites and similar.
4722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Blackmail E-mails on: August 17, 2020, 04:23:40 AM
you can see if you are a possible victim of these leaks on this website:  haveibeenpwned.com

you should never do this. sits like this one are gathering a lot of information and may not even have any database to begin with and build a database as you visit their site or enter some information there to search. that is like giving up your privacy and maybe even security willingly.

Well, it requires email only and was accurate about my (previous) bitcointalk account getting hacked in 2015 plus some other services where I was registered.

You can also find the info about Troy Hunt who runs the site.

I mean it sounds legit.

Tbh you are better off farming these tokens by being lp than buying them.
4724  Other / Meta / Re: Free Advertising, YES or NO on: August 16, 2020, 02:32:19 PM
I'm ok with that, in the end it's participant's choice. BMs should always give a clear note about that though.
4725  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Clicking Google Ads can lead you to huge looses - Uniswap customers on: August 16, 2020, 02:28:16 PM
I don’t know what could happen to Google if they continue doing that. They should be stricter with their regulations or something.

Nothing as I'm pretty sure they wash their hands about ads shown in their t&c.
4726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to avoid high transaction fee on: August 15, 2020, 04:41:13 AM
Op didn't clarify which coin he was trying to transact with, for Bitcoin use lightning network, ethereum is trash right now hoping ethereum v2 will make things better but apparently it gonna take 2-3 years for full rollout.
4727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit and why do some people have up to thousands? on: August 14, 2020, 02:14:08 PM
After you have been on forum long enough and are wel known snowball effect works for you, that's how some people have thousands of merit

This is definitely a factor for some accounts with vast amounts of merit. There are lots of subcultures on here and some of them are made up of nothing but accounts that were senior before the merit system arrived.

<...>

Some of them.
Some others gained their merits outside those groups.
When I started my journey here on bitcointalk I had zero merits and zero friends.
What I want to say, to the OP, not to you @gentlemand, is that having friends might help, but it’s not a condition to get merits, and if ever the snowball effect exists, the effort on post quality content for sure pays off better in the long run at getting merits.

I checked your merit received history and some names repeat a lot. After you have been on forum (any other field) you automatically create connections and those connections help you climb higher.

4728  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hacker vs hacked - A professional discussion on: August 14, 2020, 10:55:47 AM
We never know what the hacker can do with their skills. But I am sure that they are very high-skills in programming, and they can break the security to penetrates the database to steal our data. We need to be careful to save our data, and make sure that we activate firewalls, antivirus, or else to protect us, although it is not guaranteed for us to get safety. Many companies have been compromised from the hacker, and they need to pay some amount of money to get their data back. There is nothing we can do except be careful when we are online on the internet.

You didn't read the link I posted, did you? :/

4730  Other / Meta / Re: Is your Bitcointalk password strong enough? on: August 14, 2020, 03:36:23 AM
I had an account here before and it got hacked in last bitcointalk hack, I was naive back then and had used very simple 4 worded password ('easy to remember').

give us negative feedback. Does anyone know god's profile link?

God is invisible and so is his profile link. I'm sorry to assume god's gender though.
4733  Other / Meta / Re: If I find many spammers in a thread should I report each one of them? on: August 13, 2020, 04:19:50 AM
That thread is trashcan but often even when the thread itself is genuine it becomes spam fest after first few pages. In those cases, it's op's responsibility to lock the topic.
4734  Other / Archival / Re: Why are these posts necessary? on: August 12, 2020, 04:03:36 AM
I usually delete my 'deleted' posts after 24 hours but some may forget to do that, imagine having feature on forum which automatically finds and deletes 'deleted' saying comments automatically  Tongue
4735  Other / Meta / Re: Idea: Courses on: August 12, 2020, 04:00:17 AM
Start an education sub, where people post the learning stuff, implement a star system and have few 'reputed' people who rate the people postings.

I hate ethereum sometimes, with transaction fees it requires you could buy a one whole meal in here.

Don't you guys daily transactions that takes small amount of gold cost more than revenue it generates?

We don't live in a perfect world, there is always going to be two sides so you can appreciate the other one.
