4721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Ampleforth be a better Bitcoin? on: July 19, 2020, 01:40:25 PM
Forget about ranks on coinmarketcap.com or any other websites. Their ranking algorithms can be manipulated and rankings themselves can not tell you a full story about a project. You can not verify a quality of a project from its ranking on coinmarketcap.com and you will be trapped with FOMO waves if you act so.

And it seems that this is another FOMO altcoins. We have seen this kind of price movement before. And after the FOMO is completed, the price suddenly goes down, and if you are drawn to it because of the hype and didn't get out on time, you can be trap.

There are some cryptocurrency in the positions from 2 to 10 (the noisiest ones are Ethereum and Ripple) was seeded as better alternatives for bitcoin. After years, they all have temporarily ended with failures. I do neither believe in rankings and in any drama on bitcoin alternatives. I don't care which project in a story. Same ending is waiting.

It's because bitcoin is really the prime mover of cryptocurrencies, and although there are a lot of competitors and better altcoin in terms of technology. They will all end the same, failure to topple bitcoin at the top.
4722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter hacked account. Details about what really happened on: July 19, 2020, 01:13:00 PM
Looks like thier employees have too much power on the platform

And that is centralisation for you, maybe they have this tools at their disposal and maybe not all staff have the level. But the one that the hackers was able to social engineer might have access to the control panel that monitors everything including access to all accounts that's why it is very easy for the hackers to use it and make the tweet without raising any alarms for the owners themselves. So this hacks also exposes Twitter security that a backdoor is a possibility that exposes the password in plaintext.
4723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting biggest winners. on: July 19, 2020, 12:27:43 PM

How would you do that guys? do you consistently bet on parlay with big odds?

Depends, but it's really hard to bet on parlay and really win big. Unless you are really good or at least very well versed on the sports that you are going to bet to. Even I try to do a 5 bet parlay, it's really heartbreaking if you missed the last one.

8/9/10, that's a huge windfall, and it's a crazy odds to win that huge money with that small capital.
4724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s telecommunications hacked, demands Monero for ransom on: July 19, 2020, 11:27:46 AM
^^, yeah, I agree that it seems strange that the hacker suddenly switch their demand from bitcoin to monero. Maybe they don't want to go to another layer of using mixers or any another conjoin services because of the risk of Chainalysis.

Perhaps they need to assessed what data this the criminals get but for sure, names/addresses/personal info of their customers. If they don't pay, then for sure we will find this data being sold on the darkweb.
4725  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is cryptocurrency coverage in the press picking up since the halving on: July 19, 2020, 11:13:25 AM
The Halving is gone and forgotten... we should move on and find a new strategy to market Bitcoin sales. Find the things that makes Bitcoin better than Fiat cash and centralized Banking payment options and make a short 60 seconds TiKTok video that can go viral.

TikTok is the best platform to get to the demographic that will bring change in the future.. age 16 to 21 years. They are also the risk takers and the generation that are tech savvy.  Cool

DogeCoin is ancient ..... let's go kick some ass... release the Bitcoin army on TikTok.  Wink

It will look childish if bitcoin is going to be pump using TikTok, I think bitcoin enthusiast is more intelligent than that. And this Tiktok thingy looks like another pump-and-dump signals.  Grin

As far as media coverage goes, if people wanted the news, then definitely they will have to cover it otherwise media crypto related or not will be late. And as we all know that any publicity, be positive or negative is good so sooner or later we will see another surge on news, just like what the Twitter hack in relation to bitcoin.
4726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Cloud Technology Challenges Bitcoin on: July 18, 2020, 11:13:24 PM
Simple as that. No reason to use it.
Man.. you are correct. Just kill those 25 servers, and this coin will died.
Shit, I have wasted my 10 minutes reading this thread. I realized that i did waste my 10 minutes when i got to this 25 servers.

Lol, never bother to read that wall of text as well.

Anyways, it is somewhat a click bait title, challenges bitcoin, challenges blockchain, blah blah. Of course we love to see new ideas, but saying that you are going to test a well known coins and its technology and who enjoy the support of this community? I doubt that you can achieved that goal because bitcoin is the prime mover of cryptocurrency.

@wishxy - you can't find serious comments because this community is more intelligent than you think.  Grin
4727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: July 18, 2020, 10:17:22 PM
That may actually be the next project of these physical casinos, create their own online sites and setting up/managing it would not be hard on their end. So yes, online gambling will boom in no time. They can get their players easily as they already have their own patrons so they will just send a message to these loyal patrons that they have online site and they are on the way.

However, this is a rather laborious process. Just as when moving from one place to another, we risk losing some things, so when moving customers offline to online there is a risk that they will be lost. When a large casino announces the creation of an online cell, a lot of scam clones appear that will disorient and lure some customers to themselves. And given that the level of preparation for working with web applications is different for everyone, the percentage of trapped clients can be quite high.
I don't think most people will be trapped into clone sites if the casinos create their official online site and invite everyone from their physical casino itself but it is not going to happen in near future so there people might already moved to fiat or crypto online gambling sites to tackle lockdown boredom.

I disagree, if you don't bookmark your favorite online casinos, and just used Google to search or type it, chances are you might end on a clone site that looks like exactly the same as the legit one. There are people who fall for this one and hackers or criminals are really that good creating this fake site with attacks like typo squatting and puny code attacks.

So everyone should be very careful as online gaming is booming and so is the criminals targeting us. And gamblers should know how to protect our account as well and practice safe security.
4728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I found out from Twitter. on: July 18, 2020, 03:43:20 PM
Recently, i know Binance CEO, Changpend Zhao has recently criticised the security of Twitter after the recent coordinated attack on prominent accounts. He has said this on the World Blockchain Summit Asia which took place on Thursday 16 July. This attack on Twitter has targeted several prominent crypto exchanges including Coinbase, Binance and many others. Along with this, it has attacked some of the most famous personalities of the U.S. Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and many others. The hackers were posting tweets from these accounts and have been offering a fake crypto giveaway.

What's your opinion?

What kind of opinion you want?

Obviously, it's not their fault and it 100% the blame on Twitter itself. And nobody cares if crypto is being used, the market didn't moved an inch, indicating that they know who the real culprit and they can't blame it everything on crypto.

But for those who fall for this trick then it's a big and expensive lesson for them. Although it is really hard to understand what's really going on until it was too late.
4729  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the twitter scam crash the price on: July 18, 2020, 01:15:54 PM
All these fusses about twitter hack wouldn't have any impact on the price of bitcoin of course some fundamentalist will create unnecessary fear thus facilitates usual dumping usually associated with such an event even if the dump occurs definitely it wouldn't last before the price heads northward, this isn't the first time hacking of his nature had occurred we had several of that in the past with no significant impact on the price of bitcoin.
I also feel concerned about twitter being hacked more to it an insider must be involved a thorough investigation should be carried to reveal those behind the hack and prevent future occurrence while beefing up their security firewalls.

I don't think there will be significant impact on btc price. What would be the main reason why this hack will really have an effect on bitcoin? Unless those hackers got a huge amount of btc but I don't think they will get big amount here as compared to the available btc in the market. One lesson here though - don't put so much info in your social media channel, always think that if in case your account is compromised, what will the hackers get from your account? You should think of that not only in twitter but all the social media apps that you signed up for.

And more than 24 hours after the incident, we haven't seen the price of bitcoin moves, still just slightly above that $9k strong support. And there are a lot of people who understand that it was really Twitter who has the problem here and not bitcoin.

As one US Congressman point it out, "Bitcoin isn't the problem. Centralized control is.", so that sums up everything.

4730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin doesn't reach $500K in 3 years.... on: July 18, 2020, 12:48:50 PM
He was the Hypeman and the Shitcoin Pump of The Year. We all know he isn't going to do what he promised and it was all done for the hype and money he was getting at the time. I'll never forget how much he helped with the pump & dump of the markets at the time - or, in other words, with making the poor even poorer.

If I'm not mistaken, he was voted as crypto influencer of the year, forgot what year it is, either 2018 or 2019, (if my memory serves me right). But he then changes his tune, by it's too late, people really know what kind of personality John is and his career his over as far as being this so called influencer.

If this is how well he delivers his promises, then I'd imagine how well he would if he became the President. Cheesy

I'm sure he won't win if he ever decides to run again for the US Presidency.
4731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tron's Justin Sun Offers $1 Million Bounty For Twitter Hackers on: July 18, 2020, 11:37:13 AM
Another Justin Sun classic. He must have neen the apprentice of McAfee since this is also the way McAfee started before being one of the most hated personality in the crypto scene. Whilr I do not have any problems with Justin doing Justin things, I feel like he should leave these legal matters to the authorities. We get it, the dude has money, but it's obnoxious that he's offering it in exchange of the dox of the hackers before turning them over to the authorities.

Speaking of John Mcafee, this will be the anniversary when he said that he is going to eat his manhood if bitcoin didn't go to $500K in 2020.

Regarding Justin, I agree that this is classic move from him, he really knows when to ride on a hype and make a noise about it. For me this is nothing but just publicity stunt, he has a history of doing this and the timing about his supposedly TRON 4.0 released is perfect.
4732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu on: July 18, 2020, 11:09:14 AM
Both boxers had low records on winning by knock out. So this battle will be more on scoring. I did not see also jeff horn could knock out his opponent same as with Tim.

I am in favor of Horn because he has the play and in regards to experience Horn has better exposure to boxing. Horn has the advantage in this match.

My bet goes to Horn. If Tim wins in this match then I will going to shave my head right away. I need it also for I becoming bald.

I also voted for Tszyu to win and then I was surprised to see one vote goes to Horn and I wonder who is that member.  Grin.

It's your call, maybe you are going for the underdog to win the fight. Shaving head in this pandemic is the "in" right now, Lol, because obviously, after months of lockdown, all we can do is to cut our own hair, win-win situation for you.  Smiley. Best of luck in your bet.
4733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Old grandmas funds to pump bitcoin? on: July 17, 2020, 11:15:02 PM
I do not think that there is any logic on using funds to buy bitcoin when the people are so old and their investments do not really need to go up too much. I mean these people only have like 20 years to live on average at the very best cases, bitcoin is not something that is gradually and slowly increasing method, you go buy bonds or sure stocks or whatever when you want slow but guaranteed stuff. What happens when grandma loses all her money in bitcoin?

I mean she is old, she can't just go out and work to make it back right? So, she would be basically put to a government house or maybe even worse, left alone to die. That is why I would assume that bitcoin for older people doesn't make sense even if they manage to buy it and store it, it is too risky for them to do it.

I think that's where Fidelity and Kingdom Trust enters the picture, to help those retirees to make the decision to whether invest their hard earn retirees money to bitcoin.

However, I don't link the idea though and I do hope that they will simply enter their money, after all they have work so hard for it for many years. So probably there will be no pump in the price, and I hope that retirees will have someone to get second opinion because its very dangerous to invest on bitcoin and lost their money on it.
4734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Altcoins Failed To Win Over Bitcoin on: July 17, 2020, 10:13:51 PM
Now, what are the reasons behind this failure?

(1) Bitcoin is the prime mover - so obviously, it won the hearts of early adopters and it slowly gain some attention, reaches ATH in 2017 that no other coin has gone. So it has perks of being the first coin in the market.

(2) There were attempts in the past, ETH (Flippening) XRP (Rippening) and BCH (Bitcoin Cash), they didn't succeed because they don't have the support of crypto community although they are already that big during their attempt to overtake bitcoin

(3) Altcoin price are based on bitcoin's movement, or all altcoin has been traded with bitcoin as their pair.

(4) Most altcoins are shitcoins anyways, that's why that stigma sticks to the altcoin market.
4735  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] BAT token fake airdrop! They will steal your wallet's private key. on: July 17, 2020, 09:46:11 PM
Thanks, I guess with the recent twitter hack and making it a headline news, I do hope that people are going to be aware now that there's no way that we are going to get free money regardless if it is bitcoin or any other coins like in this case, scammers have targeted BAT token for their fake airdrop.

It's already a big lessons for crypto community, and we don't want to see and hear that these noobs are still falling for the oldest trick in the book.
4736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu on: July 17, 2020, 12:22:04 PM

JEFF HORN Is the DOG!

Jeff Horn as the underdog, I think a lot of bettors would bet on him as he also have a good record.
I only knew Horn when he fought with Manny but this fighter Tim Tszyu, I really have no idea about him and why he is the favorite on this fight.

Going to check in the youtube gain, and before that, I'll watch again the fight between Manny and Jeff Horn, lol.
I hope you guys would share some betting odds from our popular crypto sportsbook or casinos here in the forum.

Very interesting that Jeff Horn is the underdog here, although he is the older of the two, maybe this will give him enough motivation to win this fight. And this will be favourable for bettors who loves underdog as the odds is very attractive.

Sportbet.io doesn't offer it yet, maybe because because the date is still more than a month and the schedule might change depending on the status of the pandemic in Australia.
4737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People still falls for Bitcoin doubling scheme and fake giveaways on: July 17, 2020, 11:31:17 AM
Yep i feel bad for those people who lost their money because of this giveaway trick. Also, i dont know why they believe on that. I mean its obviously a scam why people still get trapped. Its 2020 i though people way more smarter.

Again, as I have said in my previous posts, it really looks believable in the eye because it came from an official twitter account. No way that you will find out that it was a scam people pulled off by bad actors. But of course, we really felt bad for them, that is still money that they have lost. And we are still in the pandemic and every money counts. So if you lost that to the scammers, then it's a double whammy for you. Hope that this will be the last time that we are going to hear people falling for this kind of trick.
4738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Twitter hacked on: July 17, 2020, 11:01:19 AM
Every of prominent twitter accounts were hacked and they all tried to convince people that the giveaway were real. It's still surprising how so many people are falling for such scams.

Can you differentiate and know before hand that those accounts are hacked? That is the main reason why people have fallen for this scam because the tweet itself come from those verified accounts.

No business would ever provide money for free and even if they did, they'd not ask users to send a lot of money first. Crypto is being infamous for such scams both due to the scammers and people falling for it. The largest hack in the social media till date just to get some bitcoin.

I agree, but then again the argument that you really don't have prior knowledge about the hack, makes you think that this is really legitimate. So it's not crypto's fault though, it's not the system that has fault here, but security lapses on part of Twitter.
4739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Looking Bullish now? on: July 16, 2020, 11:36:05 PM
Definitely, we would have see another bullish momentum from Bitcoin;  if the recent hack wasn't carried out by these hacker's on tweeter accounts holders. With this happenings, the price of Bitcoin is likely to drop again from next week and this could lead the price of Bitcoin down to $8000. Although, the beauty of this could land bitcoin into bullish in short time.  Maybe Jack(CEO tweeter) as a strong bitcoin enthusiasts, may have something we can't imagine but let wait for this.
We have not reached the bullish season mate and if the hack issue didnt happen there won't be any bullish as you presume but only a slightly uptrend season because the market seems to maintain/revolving around the price range of $8800-$9500. However, i don't see any reason why the twitter hack issue will affect the price of the bitcoin market as most people think because the vulnerability happens from twitter end.

Regardless of the hacks? I don't think that we are going to be in the bullish market. On the contrary, we see some slight dip during the twitter hacking news, but still not enough to bring the price to sub $8K.

I agree that the twitter incident won't affect bitcoin per se, but we all know how powerful media is, they scan spin it to look like bitcoin is being used by the criminals. But look at the long term, we might see some bullish signals if we enter the last quarter of this year.
4740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning: crypto related twitter accounts (Binance, Bitcoin, TRON, &more) hacked on: July 16, 2020, 10:54:14 PM
Very brave to hack a famous exchanges twitter account, there will be many victims with this phishing attack. Moreover, Twitter account followers
that's been hacked so much. I'm worried that many newbies will fall victim, thank you for creating this topic. At least the members of this forum
has received information related to phishing attacks carried out by the cryptoforhealth scam site.

It's bold actually, but this are criminals that we are talking to, the brave their exploits the better for them. Obviously, many newbies have fallen already as the criminals btc address is growing and many are sending sats and think that they can double it.

Lessons learn for Twitter here, this could be one of the biggest news this 2020 in the tech sector and very bad for Jack as it gives negative signal to the company itself as there are a big loophole and lapses on their side.
