4721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: in between the decision to hold or sell on: May 11, 2021, 11:09:36 PM
having a conversation with a friend today , he was asking me if he should sell or hold a coin. i didnt give a straight answer, i just told him the project is a good one that can do well but if you are willing to wait then you can hold but if you need some money then you can sell off. he then replied that he will wait for an additional 25% increase before he would sell off. i think i tried my best to let him make his final decision himself. is there any better way to do this? if it were you, how would you respond to this. ??

Sell half then leave the other half for long term. Time will come that the coin you are holding has a possobility to go lower than the price you bought it when bear market happens. Selling half means you will be able to have buying power at a cheaper price or any other coins on sale on that moment. Waiting for more gains will just leave you at a disappoinment if that coin is aleady at its peak and it dumped after few days.
4722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Musk doesn't tweet Dogecoin, can it still soar? on: May 11, 2021, 11:20:05 AM
Dogecoin has only become a trend because of Elon, it won't soar that much this year if it wasn't for him. Dogecoin has no real project and has unlimited amount of supply so one got really interested buying it until he starts tweeting about it. I don't know if it will continue to soar and achieve their speculated price of 1$ but one thing is certain, it is very risky to jump on the hype on the hype now. It is very volatile that its price can pump or dump quickly depending on what Elon do or tweets.
4723  Economy / Economics / Re: If we have crypto Why people still buy stocks? on: May 11, 2021, 10:16:30 AM
Crypto is very volatile so there are still some people that prefer buying stocks. We experienced an 80% correction way back in 2018 and we just recovered last year. And I'm sure we are speculating if that would happen again. If I have plenty of money I would not just put it on crypto. Stocks have less gain but it won't matter if you have huge capital in them plus they are backed up by big companies. In crypto, they are just speculation. You invest in that particular coin because you put your trust in them and believe that it has the potential to increase massively in the future.
4724  Economy / Speculation / Re: At this bullish season, bullish person is always right? on: May 11, 2021, 05:13:28 AM
So the question is, do you still believe in experts now or just ride with the FOMO and enjoy cashing out on short-term trades profit?

This depends on what type of "crypto-coiner" you are. As someone who has been here since 2016, I already experienced the volatility of many cryptocurrencies. If it is only driven by hype like dogecoin, I would avoid investing in it knowing also that it has no utility and has an unlimited amount of supply or any crypto that it is already on its FOMO stage. Some newbies are into this dogecoin because Elon Musk is always tweeting about it on his Twitter and seeing how rich is he now will really hype many people.

You don't have to follow what these experts say and most often they are just hyping the coin they bought, if you DYOR and you really trust the project that it has potential in the future then you don't have to FOMO as each crypto have their time to pump.
4725  Economy / Speculation / Re: The next Bitcoin manipulation prediction on: May 11, 2021, 04:11:01 AM
It seems that this is the classic case of:

  • price increase: "adoption! to the moon!"
  • price drop: "mAniPuLaTiOn!"

Price corrections happen. I'd be more concerned if bitcoin just went up in a straight line without dips.

Most newbie just wants moon when they buy bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. If the price goes lower than they bought, they easily panic spreading some false news on the internet. I don't know if they know the risk of it if it only keeps going up, they just think of their profit if the target price they want is achieved. Cryptos are really volatile so it is really hard to say if it is manipulated. Why would someone sell their holdings if they know many are waiting for it to go down and take that opportunity to buy.
4726  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slapping Tournament on: May 11, 2021, 03:18:19 AM
I just searched about this tournament on youtube now and it is fun to watch for me. But seeing crypto betting sites have this on their sportsbooks is not possible yet for me because slapping tournaments is not considered a real sport yet. From watching some videos I guess it only happens in America, and not all will be happy to see this as a sport. If people want to really bet virtually on this type of tournament someone should have already created a website for this even if it doesn't accept crypto yet.
4727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin is like planting trees on: May 11, 2021, 12:01:50 AM
Good analogy there OP. Most of us buy bitcoin as a long term investment, we are not planning to spend it until we retire or until the value we want is achieved. We just keep accumulating bitcoin because we know that it will benefit us a lot in the future. It's like bitcoin is the tree, and we are the earth. Once those trees are fully grown it can protect well the earth like our future if we accumulated enough amount of bitcoin..
4728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could we crowdfund a movie about Satoshi Nakamoto? on: May 10, 2021, 12:42:46 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto is just a name given to identify the creator of bitcoin. No one really knows if it is one person, group, or maybe a company that developed it way back in 2009. It's just the creative imagination of many people because Satoshi is a name of a person. It's like making a movie about history that didn't happen at all in the past. It would be a shame if the real creator(s) of bitcoin sees it. If Satoshi really wants to reveal himself in public, he should have done it already. Maybe he knows that he won't be able to live peacefully if people know about his identity.
4729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk please stop messing up the crypto market on: May 10, 2021, 10:41:54 AM
Am I the only one who finds his tweets and market manipulation annoying?

A lot of newbies falling into the trap unfortunately. BTC is strong and won't be affected too much but Dogecoin is just increasing its pump and dump reputation. Sad.

This is also my sentiment. A lot of newbie learned crypto because of him shilling doge and most of these newbies don't know the background of dogecoin at all. They just jumped the hype train not knowing what they are going into. If the person holding the 28% of current supply of dogecoin or maybe just the top 10 whales holding it, these newbies could surely lose a lot of money and this will just be a bad image overall for crypto.
4730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: May 10, 2021, 06:23:32 AM
Hello
So I was going through a story of a girl who literally stole 70,000 Euros to Gamble apparently it all started when she invested 20 Euro and won a thousand and since then she became addicted to easy money.
It made me realize that every now and then there is someone here sharing their addiction stories and it might help to have a particular thread for them to keep all the sources which could help them get their life straight again..
Here is a quote from BBC :-
url of the story :- https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-56997362.amp

This is a url with further sources : https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1kS7QTDB16PWkywhsXJLzxz/information-and-support-addiction-alcohol-drugs-and-gambling

The problem is not all countries have a hotline or institutions to help with someone's gambling addiction. Even if there are, gamblers are afraid to go there because his neighbor and relatives will discriminate him if they found out that he goes to some group because of his extreme addiction. If someone got to the extent like what the girl did in the OP, his family could bring him to a psychiatrist since they specialize in helping people with mental health problems which I can think gambling addiction also belongs.
4731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling risks during coronavirus pandemic on: May 09, 2021, 01:06:49 PM
Does any of these methods work for you? How do you keep a rein on your gambling habits?

Online cockfighting here in our country became popular because of the pandemic, cockpits can't open anymore so the owners of them thought of a way to continue their business. Many of my friends and neighbors are addicted to it because it can double your money if you are good at evaluating who's rooster is going to win.

They tempt me to join also but I know it is very risky and addicting if you are going to bet often, to stay away from them I just play online games on my computer or talk to some people I know on social media who has the same interest with me and that is crypto trading. I know that has risks also but I would prefer that rather than gambling.
4732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: May 08, 2021, 01:21:57 PM
It was your decision at that time, no point regretting real hard with what happened, you have to stand by that words. You and everyone didn't know that bitcoin will be a big thing in a decade so there is no point mulling over your past choices, it made you who you are today. It's not like it's too late to start over.
its true 'don't regret the past, back then I had BTC in 2017, if it was sold at this time how many times it was from the previous price. But I don't regret it's time to start over.

It will just hurt and make us depress if we keep remembering the past. Seeing my past trading histories and how big was my holdings before makes me also regret that why I sold early so I just think of it in a positive way to lessen the sadness I feel because it helped my family a lot when we are struggling financially. We don't have a choice but to start again if we still trust the potential of cryptocurrencies in the future. Mass adoption is just beginning so cryptos that have really good projects have still got a lot of time to grow.
4733  Economy / Gambling / Re: Be Aware Phishing Roobet.com on: May 08, 2021, 06:53:08 AM
We should always be aware of these phishing websites. This is why we should also enable the 2fa on that gambling platform that we use and also properly secure the email we use on it. Enabling these multiple layers of authentication gives you a high chance. If you accidentally log in to those phishing websites, hackers can't easily withdraw all your funds there because 2fa is enabled on the real website and also on your email as well. If you feel you accidentally log in on those phishing websites you can just immediately change your password.
4734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 06:48:51 AM
I have feelings that i lost my biggest life chance to get really rich and i just want to forget about crypto and work in normal work but it is impossible.
It's hurt much more if you can see that your old crypto-friend's get cars and houses from crypto profit, i wonder if someone have some feeling's as me.

Nothing will happen if you just keep thinking about the past and regret it. All of us experienced different failures with our journey in this crypto space, we can't go back to the past so all we can do is move on and start again if we still want to pursue what we want.. I've experienced depression too when I was crypto gambling and tried futures trading recently, I got greedy on them that all my profit and capital was gone in just few minutes. Now I started trading again learning from those mistakes.
4735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How way you choose way to saving Bitcoin ? on: May 06, 2021, 05:34:52 AM
Hello Everyone,

I just curious, How way you choose to saving Bitcoin ?

Example case, You have 0.01 BTC on your wallet now, will you saving on 1 address or you will splits the Bitcoin be 10 address 0.001 Bitcoin each.

You will just make it difficult if you will divide it into multiple wallets. Securing each of those properly would take a lot of time and effort. Putting it in a single address or wallet is enough, just make sure to save the passphrase and create multiple copies on where you think it is safe. Never share that info with anyone even if they are your relative. If you are scared that something might happen to you then look for someone that you really trust and will inherit that amount of bitcoin. It may be not that big amount now but in the future, it will greatly benefit the next generations.
4736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in bitcoins for future kids on: May 06, 2021, 02:20:25 AM
As a form of investment, many are buying cryptocurrency in smaller quantities and saving for their kids in the future. With the continuous rising and falling of the currency and the volatility of the market, how do we know the coins to buy and save for future use or is it a waste of money.
Need your thoughts on this tho'...

If you are afraid of buying different crypto then you should only buy bitcoin. No one can really tell what cryptocurrency will still exist in the future where our future generations are living in. Only bitcoin has the highest chance for me that will still exist in the future because that is the mother of all crypto, it's total supply hasn't all mined yet so its price will still increase in the following years. For me other than investing bitcoin for the future, BNB and ETH is also a good choice to invest for the future. They've been continuously improving their projects and they have their own blockchain where some cryptocurrencies are also created under those chains.
4737  Economy / Gambling / Re: everything can happen on bitvest [P2] on: May 06, 2021, 01:04:46 AM
Congratulation to OP, that is such a huge win. I hope you spend it well and don't use it all on gamblings. Remember that not all are blessed to experience that win in gambling. That is your chance to change your life for the better. You can already have a small business with that depending on the country you are living in. Just spend it wisely and don't think that by gambling more often you can win again that amount. Don't tell yourself that gambling is the key for you to be rich.
4738  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: May 05, 2021, 12:13:27 PM
My definition of rich would be having enough money that you don't have to work another day in your life. There is no exact dollar amount because the cost of living depends on the country where you are from. In some countries you could probably live a comfortable life having half a million dollars in your bank account.

I'm sure that if you will be able to achieve that point of not going to work anymore you would definitely ask for more in your life. Greed is part of our human nature and when one reaches a certain point, we want to achieve more like travelling to different countries and buying some luxurious items that honestly we don't need in our daily life and that is not a bad thing for me. The definition of being rich for me is spending your wealth like it's nothing to help other people without expecting any return.
4739  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you died” on: May 05, 2021, 10:35:11 AM
This seems like a salty post for me who is jealous of some wealthy people that only spend a small amount of their money. It is true that we only live once and enjoy to the fullest while we live, but it is not correct to tell someone to spend all their money just because they won't be able to use it in the afterlife. No one can tell when exactly we are gonna die, if you spend all your money now then you still wake up tomorrow how are you going to do your responsibilities. Can you still pay your bill and buy the necessities you need? For me, the reason why wealthy people only spend small amount of their money is they know how they worked hard for it. If they just go YOLO then they would not be living the same way they are after that day, they also want to make sure that their next generation won't experience what they did to reach that point/
4740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell your Bitcoins or die - Bitcoin to $5000 soon - Fiat is best alternative on: May 05, 2021, 06:46:14 AM
When some people miss the opportunity to buy at a cheap price they just spread fuds on the internet like an idiot. When it is at that price range many people ignore to buy, now that the price is already high they wish for it to go low. It is like they wish for a time machine that only exists in movies. Regret always comes last, if you will keep getting stuck in the past then nothing will happen. Bitcoin has still a lot to grow so buying it at its current price is not a bad choice. If you still hesitate, then just wait for it until it hits 6 digit mark.
