So if you believe USA will win easy, it's an easy 1.1x;)
Sure, it could be an easy win, but I'm not exactly thrilled with those odds. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming Olympics will probably be one of the most unpredictable in history.

If it were any other kind of sports or tournament, seeing the distance between the favorite and 2nd favorite (USA is 1.1 and China is 5.0) then yeah, I'd take USA any time of day. But the thing is I really really don't know anything about Olympics right now. I would put a lot of money on USA but I want to save my bankroll for Specials which I can sniff;)
4742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that bounties paying in anything other than Bitcoin are worth it on: July 20, 2021, 03:04:41 PM
What I'm saying is, it's worth it if you also have a use and an interest in it. But if there isn't any of these things, forget. Take BTC, ETC, LTC, even DOGE.
How much did you earn from that one bounty and how long and how many other bounties have you been a participant in? $22 is probably better than most but it depends on the amount of coin you earned from the bounty. I am not being convinced by people saying that they have only had one or two bounties work out for them when their post history indicates they have been doing it for over 3 years that is not a efficient way of earning money at all.

It was a temporary bounty, they didn't even call it that at the time. And if you count signature campaigns, then I've only been member of a few. In fact, was with Bitdice for years until they closed (that's me, I stick to one and never move until they close). Payment wasn't much, but $40 or $50 a week really really adds up when you count how much Bitcoin has gained over the years.

I think those guys who say "1 bounty is all you need" lived in 2017 and that cannot be sustained. I see my signature campaign as an additional means to reward what I already love doing, which is interacting on this forum:)
4743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the practical value of Bitcoin on: July 20, 2021, 01:35:48 PM
Bitcoin's practical value is a currency and means of payment that ANYONE can use.

True, if you use your own card in some gambling app on your iPhone, sometimes you get flagged by Apple for possible fraudulent activity. Well, it might be a security thing designed to control what you purchase in apps on your iOS device but the point is, you are still being controlled and that is not good for someone who wants control on how he handles his funds. Bitcoin gives that control, and that freedom, if done irresponsibly would also damn ones fortunes.

It's not even about that. I'm saying, not everyone can use a card, and not everyone even can apply for a card (right now I could, but many of my colleagues would get an application rejected) and even if they did, it'd be blocked in most countries.

So restrictions, and then censorship. Bitcoin has none of these issues.
4744  Economy / Speculation / Re: 22 july, BTC 20k$ or 70k$? on: July 20, 2021, 01:02:53 PM
I think this really just is a cat and mouse game now between buyers and sellers. Nothing we say is going to be meaningful until we see a REAL move.
It's quite slow.

And that's for sure that we're going to see the real move after this discussion happens. We're going close to the date and the same with the price as it's on the $30kish level already.

But hopefully that this won't go below the support level.

Right now we've already slipped below the socalled 30k support line (which has been broken a few times already) and this I think is mainly through all the global market fears from the effects of Covid, which are making everyone sell off stocks even.

So if the news is bad, this could break BTC temporarily. And if it's good, I'm not sure it's strong enough to counter the global fears.
4745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: July 20, 2021, 09:51:51 AM
I agree with you, for now (in a short time) it is very difficult to find a replacement like Ramos at Real Madrid, but I am very sure that in the future Real Madrid will find a replacement.

Btw, Have You Seen Jesus Vellejo's playing style? His playing style is very similar to that of Sergio Ramos, he is still very young and there is still a lot of time to develop his playing skills.

They've been struggling ever since they lost their backbone of Galacticos, and Zidane coming back and keeping them in the race didn't do him much justice, but yeah, I'm sure they and money will find a way.

Vellejo? Decent but he's what now 3rd or 4th choice CB even without Varane? I fear Real's just not giving these youngsters enough chances to shine.
4746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about TRX to DOGE on: July 20, 2021, 09:18:46 AM
Doge is quite a very risky investment as right now, it seems its price increase is dependent to only one person.
And we don't know if Elon has still interest to further develop its network, where he mentioned before about the possible collaboration with doge team.
Whereas, with TRX, we know there is a team behind who is continuously developing this platform.
And in terms of usage, I believe, TRX network is somewhat catering the crypto users in terms of low fees.
Just look at the USDT-TRC20, most people prefer this network because of the very low fees compared to ERC20 or BSC.
I believe, TRX platform has better chance to grow in the market because of its usage. Whereas, doge, the fees are getting expensive.

Super, super risky indeed. And I know everyone's raving about elon musk's B word talk tomorrow, so the entire market will be hoping to hear him drop some B bombs and yeah sure, he'll probably take the opportunity to pump up DOGE a bit more too. It'll probably even work for a while.

Regarding TRX, pointless to have low fees when all the defi biz is going on BSC now or even ETH on L2.
4747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 20, 2021, 07:45:20 AM
I got 2/4 in this last promo myself. But a new one is up now and it's the first Olympics special from Sportsbet, Japan versus South Africa.

Now on a regular match I would pick Japan but this is all U23 and I doubt if any of the Japanese stars are that young, minus the overage participants. So I went for S Africa, feel free to follow;)
4748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dissapointments of the creation of the thousands of failed altcoins. on: July 20, 2021, 07:12:41 AM
1% is 700 or 800 coins that have a real use case. So that is for sure not true (having a use case but nobody is using it makes it NOT a use case by the way).

Actually, it depends on how the term of use case is used or referred to. Each of cryptocurrency is definitely has a use case, they might claim to be a decentralized currency, has a fast transaction, etc. The thing is about the implementation of those use cases does it really true? any use cases would be useless if there are no verifiable implementations. Then we can come to the last point, the usability, whatever the dev/community claims about any cryptocurrency that has a use case but none of the usability, then it becomes as of those unknown cryptocurrencies that exist in the market.

I honestly think that the usability problem is still our major obstacle in the whole cryptocurrencies space in general. People need to widely utilize cryptocurrency in order to massively scale the adoption.

For me use case isn't just about "creating a possible use for a coin". Use case is about providing a solution people WANT and people NEED because of a real problem they have. And this means, if a coin really has a use case, people will USE it.

The fact that all shitcoins with supposed use case are only being used to speculate and be sold, dumped, and pumped, proves they don't actually have a use case. "Decentralized currency" is not a use case:) Fast tx is not a use case. These are features:)
4749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there a pattern when there is a dump like this? on: July 20, 2021, 05:40:01 AM
No pattern.

Technical Analysis certainly doesn't work when there are more important macro trends in play that are simply not accounted for. There is a reason why TA is sometimes dubbed astrology for men.

People said that $40k was the bottom and won't be broken through - until it wasn't. They said that everything was pointing towards $32k being the ultimate resistance - until it wasn't. Looking for patterns in the charts is merely wishful thinking.

Lol that's a bit sexist, as I used to be in forex where almost half the traders and teachers (at least in the physical lessons) were women (AND if you see the new generation, astrology enthusiasts a lot of MEN too hehe).

Anyway. TA is always fun to see but people forget that most of these charts are preconceived. Meaning to say, like astrology, now that you mentioned it, people already have an idea of what they want to see in the stars. Then they find the dots to connect to give them the image they prefer.
4750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Bitcoin community a DAO? on: July 20, 2021, 05:05:42 AM
I remember in 2020 especially when there were a LOT of Defi companies claiming they wanted to build a DAO when I commented in one place that you cannot simply build one you can only make it conducive for one to take place. Which is what Bitcoin did. Shitcoins hate to admit but Bitcoin is the only decentralized organisation there is in crypto.
I think so. Bitcoin is the only decentralized organisation there is in crypto. But I believe that many decentralized organizations that truly conform to the spirit of blockchain will be born in the future.

I believe some alts have come close or are coming close. Ethereum definitely took major strides to achieve this, even convinced some people like myself who never wanted to touch it that it was at least becoming "more" decentralized.

It's so funny to see these Defi DAOs coming up, absolute rubbish people fall for it.
4751  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sportsbet.io - Main sponsor of Southampton FC on: July 19, 2021, 04:24:57 PM
Not long until the Premier League starts on August 13th, that’s what I’m most looking forward to. The Olympics starts Friday 23rd July though, I’ll be studying odds on that in preparation.

@LFC_Bitcoin do post some predictions for Olympic game’s and your review of the odds, and even though I’m not keen to wager as of now, but if a very good opportunity arises then I would like to take the opportunity. Lastly even I’m very excited for premier league odds, because last time the odds were boosted and I also like to follow Steve predictions.

USA is the main favourite and most bookies have them max at 1.2 because Russia is out of the games, so that clears the way for USA. China will come close but as usual will not have enough in most of the sports (sorry but DNA and genetics means us Asians are just not able to compete in some sports like let's say basketball!).

So if you believe USA will win easy, it's an easy 1.1x;)
4752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that bounties paying in anything other than Bitcoin are worth it on: July 19, 2021, 03:12:54 PM
I've only had one ever bounty that was worth it and this was for GIGAbyte or as it was known before Byteball. But the signs were there. A super useful wallet, a first new type of algo (DAG) and a dev who actually knew what he was doing and a full community who were so helpful, and useful, and guess what, no one talked about price. A use case coin (smart contract escrow between p2p) and a wonderful community.

Their coin is only worth $22 today but it never died:)

What I'm saying is, it's worth it if you also have a use and an interest in it. But if there isn't any of these things, forget. Take BTC, ETC, LTC, even DOGE.

Thanks, and yes, I do know Discord's the best place but I can't install Discord on my computer as I access it all from work, but forums is my main chance to keep in touch with everything.
You don't have to install Discord application on your computer in order to use it.

You can use it directly on web browser. Create your account, then log in and use it on web browser. If you don't use Discord regularly, it is unnecessary to install Discord application.

Sorry I should have made it clear. It doesn't work on mine. Slack and Discord web just won't load properly on my browser, it's a work computer and quite a lot of restrictions plus I have to connect from a company VPN.

Anyway, no problem. I know how to keep in touch. Just saying this forum is also a good place for those who don't use all those other things to block out the noise:)
4754  Economy / Speculation / Re: 22 july, BTC 20k$ or 70k$? on: July 19, 2021, 01:07:32 PM
It is getting close to the price of being below $30,000. As seen right now, $31,869 and this makes a lot of speculators that it can go down as low as $20,000.

While bitcoin goes close to that price of speculation, that's always the case that bitcoin recovers no matter how low it can go. Just a few more days left but I think it's no longer important if there will be an impact with that discussion.

Except that this has been a holding level for weeks now. Even when BTC has gone down below that critical support, the bounce hasn't been too long away and quite significant.

I think this really just is a cat and mouse game now between buyers and sellers. Nothing we say is going to be meaningful until we see a REAL move.
4755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the practical value of Bitcoin on: July 19, 2021, 11:52:18 AM
I answered this in another thread but I'll answer it here too.

Take a look at this forum all around you. The majority of us here have a signature campaign. Then take a look also at the Gambling section. Where a lot of the forum activity takes place. That means a lot of us also gamble.

Guess what we use to receive payment for our campaigns and what we use to gamble? Why not Paypal? Or bank? OR USD or whatever? You know why? Because most of us can't use them even if we wanted to. Paypal? Blocked for me. Bank? Good luck getting my card used online. USD? I'm not American.

Bitcoin's practical value is a currency and means of payment that ANYONE can use.
4756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: July 19, 2021, 11:04:07 AM
Do you think the replacement of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos is possible at all? I don't think so. Varane and Ramos have been playing together at Real Madrid for many long time. They are deeply involved with Real Madrid. In no way is it possible to replace the two players so quickly. Besides, where can Real Madrid find such an experienced defender now? No team is interested in selling experienced defenders.

We'll probably never see the likes of Ramos again for Real Madrid, at least not until a while more. Remember it also took him, just like Messi and other greats, a number of years to even establish themselves, let alone find another partner or a few others to work well together.

So no, you can't replace them, but you can for sure still find good alternatives.
4757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dissapointments of the creation of the thousands of failed altcoins. on: July 19, 2021, 09:58:20 AM
You will be surprised that some alts are not yet listed in cmc or coingecko, and yet they are in the trading market. Sadly, only few percent of these alts have actual use case in the market. Most of them are just redundancies and repetitions. So it is your prerogative how you will choose a project that you can  really invest your resources. And it is your responsibility to keep up with their developments.

A few percent? I would be very surprised if even 1% do. We're talking about 70k or 80k coins in total now remember. Listed and unlisted, on ETH and on WAVES and NEO and TRON.

1% is 700 or 800 coins that have a real use case. So that is for sure not true (having a use case but nobody is using it makes it NOT a use case by the way).
4758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 19, 2021, 09:00:36 AM
I followed buwaytress when I saw he mentioned Bottas, so podium finish is not enough to make me happy. I guess I should be comforted by the fact that if I'd bet on Verstappen I'd have lost on Lap 1! Hope the guy is ok though, it's never nice to see anyone crash, and the footage I saw of British fans rejoicing when he crashed. Guess it's not just football that has those kind of fans huh:(
4759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there a pattern when there is a dump like this? on: July 19, 2021, 07:55:15 AM
There is always a pattern but it is hard to predict on which pattern will going to launch is it the dump or the pump Sometimes we depend on our luck on choosing the coin to invest because crypto coin price is always unstable. And we don't know what will happen after we buy during dip we don't know if it will rise or continue to drop down. So for me it is more wise if we don't depend on the pattern news and updates or development of the coin that we are holding is more important than pattern.

There is NOT always a pattern, only the ones we choose to see and believe. Patterns are retrospective. We only build them once we trace out the lines, and often, we already know what we want to find, so we do the timeframes and the pointers that suit our preferred findings.

Anyway, looking at your history of posts, I'm sure you don't really know what you're talking about;)
