4761  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Open Merit Source Applications... on: February 20, 2020, 11:17:38 AM
This basically the test of the will on how these candidates are really willing to voluntarily distribute merits to those who are deserving. IMO, if we nominate merit sources and these sources aren't really dedicated to help the forum group, them, becoming merit source will not be effective enough for the forum.

Thus, self nomination of the members who are truly passionate and dedicated to distribute merit is quite better. In addition, the other members could also provide their insights, supports to whoever will try to apply for becoming a merit source.

I've seen numerous threads debunking merit sources dishing upwards of fifty merits in one go.

When was the last time you saw a thread (or even a single post) saying a merit source got it right?
4762  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Open Merit Source Applications... on: February 20, 2020, 10:01:37 AM
Perhaps instead of candidates nominating themselves, we should have candidates who are nominated by others and also exhibit the capacity to be impartial when dispensing those merits.

Then again, we probably wouldn't have *any* merit sources if we had to wait that long such is the flawed system we currently have in place.
4763  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this plagiarism? Nadziratel Vs belka48 (or are they alts?) on: February 20, 2020, 04:50:39 AM
The feedback timing in comparison to the the post's timing - that path is completely inconsequential. I don't think there's any use looking down this avenue.

On the thread, in essence, the question would be "is it only belka48 who is punished for plagiarism?"

I haven't looked into whether Nadziratel has copied anyone else's posts - but belka48 has certainly copied work.
4764  Economy / Reputation / Is this plagiarism? Nadziratel Vs belka48 (or are they alts?) on: February 20, 2020, 01:46:31 AM
Thread Archive: [1a], [1b]

Nadziratel posts this:

...

This is probably the most different ANN I've seen in this section. So you found an interesting way of advertising. A platform that teaches poker ... It's interesting.

belka48 posts this today:

This is probably the most different ANN I've seen in this section. So you found an interesting way of advertising. A platform that teaches poker ... It's interesting.

So belka48 has copied verbatim Nadziratel's work.

There are only 15 posts made by belka48 with the most recent not turning up direct copies of other users, and with little else to go on it's hard to say they are alts.

Nadziratel's trust feedback page brings up a whole other issue surrounding copied work:

with whitemanwhite echoing kzv's post verbatim.  Both of their posts are just two days after Nadziratel posted the above quoted post.
4765  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blogabet tipsters group on: February 20, 2020, 01:10:23 AM
I hate to say it, but there's plenty of people here in BitCoinTalk that have threads for tipping and it doesn't cost a cent to join (except any any bets made).  Given your source material is all coming from the one website it's likely some are the same authors/tipsters.
4766  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 19, 2020, 09:35:11 AM
Thank you for your reply,

So you have the following formula:
Recognition = 1000 - ((Activity Rank + Trust Rank + Merit Rank) / 3).

In your case:  1000 - ((285 + 152 + 229) / 3) = 778

You can check which of your scores are dropping or who is above you.

Just a nit-picking bit of clarity, should that be

152, 229 then 285??

I think that was a part of a discussion I was reading with Vod trying to figure out formula.  I never ended up finding a similar formulae that was using square roots of values that'd been squared and added (multiplied) together.  It's a convoluted piece of formula and mostly works (never re-found it and put looking for it to one side)

And we do have our hats. It is just we left them at the dry cleaners.  Cheesy

I prefer Men Without Hats:

4768  Other / Meta / Re: Gangs of BitcoinTalk :) on: February 19, 2020, 07:55:06 AM
I don't give a fuck. I am trying to make my way into the Thick Skinned gang.

It's more an inverse thick (ie thin) skin troupe of whinny middle aged gits.
4769  Other / Meta / Re: Gangs of BitcoinTalk :) on: February 19, 2020, 07:48:16 AM
You must be joking. You tell me you never watched sopranos? How old are you 20? Damn millenials.

I'll take that as a complement, as Jack Benny would say "I'm 39!". (you're still on my distrust list BTW - feel free to start a thread about it - everyone else does).

I preferred Wise Guy actually.
4770  Other / Meta / Re: Gangs of BitcoinTalk :) on: February 19, 2020, 07:40:54 AM

Which is who?

The guy seated with the cigar was in the movie "The Last Castle" with Robert Redford.  I don't recognise any of the others - it looks like a mash-up montage (notice the reflection of the guy top left in pale jacket - his "mirror" image is facing the wrong way).
4771  Economy / Reputation / Re: [overview] Lauda's DT1/trust statistics & relevant topics list on: February 19, 2020, 07:31:21 AM
Lauda's just changed both his email address and his PGP keys.

(and he also removed one of the two negative trust feedbacks he'd previously left for me the same day he's telling others to ~Timelord2067 - Lauda is becoming increasingly confused about what he's saying and doing)
4772  Other / Meta / Re: Gangs of BitcoinTalk :) on: February 19, 2020, 07:25:25 AM
If GazetaBitcoin were genuine in his mantra of free speech by "the press", then he wouldn't have arranged to have my posts deleted from this tread thereby committing censorship.
4773  Other / Meta / Re: A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. on: February 19, 2020, 07:03:56 AM
More of my posts have been deleted over night without any user name being given as to the *cough* person behind it.  More retaliation no doubt from the un-named forum mods who are too afraid to put their name to their work.

Definitely untrustworthy behaviour.

I may also have hit upon why they are deleting my posts weeks, months and even years later.  As petty as it sounds they appear to be manipulating my score on the BPIP.  More information as it comes in.
4774  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 19, 2020, 07:00:48 AM
What is the methodology being to used to calculate recognition?  Why I ask I was at 30th place with a score of 791.667 and then around the time my post count started dropping without explanation (as discussed in the original BPIP thread) now my recognition score is a dozen points lower while the other users with scores around mine are all fairly static.

At the time it was suggested that the posts were very old in threads that had been nuked, now I'm not so sure as the evidence suggests manipulation by mods to push my BPIP score down with very targeted deletion of posts.
4775  Other / Meta / Re: A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. on: February 18, 2020, 04:41:35 PM
...

Give it up Suchmoon - no one here is buying what you're peddling.
4776  Other / Meta / Re: ~GazetaBitcoin on: February 18, 2020, 04:36:21 PM
I didn't know there are different factions now. I thought there was only one known gang until today. It should be interesting to see how the turf war develops in the future. You may also want to add the Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III gang. It looks like you have a beef with their leader so there's probably a bounty on your head right now  Cheesy

Agreed.

This post of mine has more relevance now than when it was created some 36 hours ago:

Especially when it is read in context with this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226451.msg53862159#msg53862159
4777  Other / Meta / Re: A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. on: February 18, 2020, 03:54:03 PM

For me itis obvious abuse of power by a moderator.

Very well said - thank you for having started this thread to highlight this issue that, as it turns out, is not just limited to your and my posts.
4778  Economy / Gambling / Re: UK Gambling Commission mysteriously suspends Matchbook casino licence on: February 18, 2020, 08:30:07 AM
Perhaps if you had gone here first: https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/Home.aspx and had a look around you might have found clues to your concern.

You can also check here: https://www.casino.co.uk/blacklisted/ for information on black-listed casinos.

and... what's more likely to have occurred can be found on this page: "Gambling on credit cards to be banned from April 2020" https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/news-action-and-statistics/news/gambling-on-credit-cards-to-be-banned-from-april-2020?mod=article_inline

I doubt there's really anything "Mysterious" in their decision.
4779  Economy / Reputation / Re: GazetaBitcoin - who set you up? on: February 18, 2020, 08:11:00 AM
Personal trust lists are not really worth paying that much attention to. Unlike ratings, they're background metrics that affect how the one that sets them in his own profile sees trust ratings.

They only become impactful to the general userbase once they contribute to including/excluding someone in default trust. I wouldn't care that much what the reasons of someone trusting/distrusting others are.
Unless of course they themselves are in DT1 and are largely contributing to preventing others from ranking up. If there's no good reason for such specific actions, it's worth discussing more than hypotheticals.

You're crying that just one person on DT1 - (with a negative value at that) has distrusted you on default trust?  (Something you've never even dabbled in before this week?)

Who put you up to this?

Edit on the 31st August 2020.  Two weeks after this post the OP added ten UID's to the trust list. (Week 58)

It is now week 85 and their trust list looks like this:

4780  Economy / Reputation / Re: Extending "~" to peers of your untrustees through association - Why? on: February 18, 2020, 07:48:36 AM
Mind your manners, child.

nullius is another one of those shill accounts that's been brought back to life.  Instead of making contact for their concern about a post of mine, they went on a stumbling rant about the post.

A PM to TL would have been appropriate first.

Ask the OP how many hours after he sent a PM did he wait before starting this thread.  (and ask his did he notice I was offline for a couple of days - over the weekend) - I know the answer and it's not very many hours at all.  No follow-up PM to ensure I received the first PM, no discussion via PM, nothing.

This is a nothing thread from start to finish.
