4761  Other / Meta / Re: Thank you theymos for adding Bengali Subboard V2.0 on: April 02, 2021, 03:41:01 PM
I beg to differ. The Spanish local board for example is covered on a language basis, being common to those members who wish to express themselves in Spanish, be they from Spain, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela (but not limited to these). In practice, we seems to have a rather small representation of some of these countries, but it’s certainly not delimited to Spain.
It's exactly the same situation in Croatian board. We do have some specific topics related to crypto businesses in Croatia, but we also have members from Ex-Yugoslavia (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia etc) countries that all understand our language well as its very similar (some would say that it's the same language but that's the topic for another conversation) and since they don't have their own local board, they write in "ours". And it works pretty good I must say, to everyone's benefits.

So yeah, the thing that @UmerIdrees said about local boards being segregated by countries an not by languages isn't true at all.
4762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: April 02, 2021, 03:08:42 PM
I do not get it, I watched the trial of Chicago 7 to see what it was about, it was second in odds after nomadland, and I checked all others out before as well this was the last one. I have to say I really didn't like any of the movies, what is this point of Oscars only given to movies that are "artistic", like a lot of monologues, a lot of dialogues, a lot of feelings, like it's so artistic, I end up feeling like banana peeled to wall worth 150k in art form type of deal here.
I agree with the first post of your post, that Trial of Chicago 7 is nothing special really, despite the fact that I really like courtroom dramas, but this one was simply an average movie at me. It's probably more about the subject, than the quality of the movie itself.

Regarding the other part, Oscars usually favors dramas, that's how it goes, but also bear in mind that 2020 was a bit different than others; no one wanted to produce and release an expensive big blockbuster movies like in previous years simply because of the closed cinemas. So why would someone invest 200-300 million of dollars if they can't make the profit?

If everythig was ok, I am sure that we would get more of those "big" movies among nominated ones for the Best Picture. First one that comes to my mind is Dune, that was postponed for late 2021 and I am pretty sure it would end up among nominated ones. And guess which ones are cheap to produce? Dramas.

Why pick what people do not watch as the best movie? I mean whichever movie was viewed the most that year should be the best picture
That doesn't make much sense, and I sure hope awards will never be given on that basis. Most viewed doesn't equal quality.

To sum it up, my guy Nolan is just trying too damn hard to stick out of the box but just does not have the chops for it.
Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me. I will keep watching everything that he makes, but I don't expect much anymore. But who knows, maybe he can surprise.
4763  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Are you owed a payment of a bounty? then help us expose scammers on: April 02, 2021, 02:47:43 PM
The point here is does the bounty campaign owner really care our accusations here? I'm sure not since they decide not to pay and whatever the result of their actions still they already earn a money from their ICO or anything names what you possible call it. Although this scam accusation to be created by members here is good warning but one thing is for sure after they dump that project they will create new so better be careful next time to avoid the same scenario.
Of course they don't, as bounty hunters usually have very small reach outside of other bounty hunters. They usually follow each other on social media channels, and it's very easy to just ban them on telegram. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't try to do something about it though.

Who knows, if OP manages to get enough of bounty hunters, maybe something could be done, but looking at bounty thread, majority of bounty hunters are either inactive or banned, so it won't be an easy task at all.

By the way, how come none of the bounty hunters tagged @UHIVESocial account yet? I mean, I know that it doesn't mean much and that account is abandoned, but still if you feel scammed, you should leave him a tag.
4764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apple is considered safe but still you gotta be careful on: April 02, 2021, 07:21:32 AM
I dont believe that users got scammed due to downloading fake app directly from App Store. All apps passes tons of moderation before getting into App Store. Despite Google Play Store, which is full of fake and scam apps. It is mentioned that he had downloaded an app from App Store. That is a lie, there is no such app there and never was.
It's true that Apple pays way more attention to security than Google, but you are very wrong if you think that their screening system is infallible. It happened to them before in the past (albeit they pay more attention now) and will occasionally keep happening. Sooner or later fake app will pass all the controls and end up on App Store as scammers tend to be very creative and imaginative. It is always a game of cat and a mouse.

People are so used to mindlessly installing apps, that they do it even if they are going to entrust this app with hundreds of thousands of dollars. They probably don't visit Bitcoin forums and never seen a topic about fake wallet resulting in massive theft, otherwise they'd take at least take some steps to verify the software that they want to use.
Exactly this. Over the years people got used to download apps directly from App Store/Google Play so when they decide to get their first crypto wallet, in 99.99% cases they will do exactly the same thing as many times before. I mean, from their point of view why wouldn't they, in all those years everything worked fine.

Ono nešto u Twilight Zone stilu Cheesy

Three more fake Exodus wallets showed up on Google Play!

This thread is mainly focused on android users as Google Play is more prone to scam wallets, but just a heads up for iOS users: Apple isn't infallible either and despite their strict screening process of new apps (at least stricter than Google) , fake apps can still be found there.

Recently fake Trezor app appeared on Apple Store, and unfortunately one user, while not knowing that Trezor doesn't even have a mobile app, used it to store 17.1 BTC, which of course he lost in the end as app was obviously fake.

Christodoulou went on the App Store last month to search for a mobile Trezor app to check his Bitcoin balance via phone. Unaware that Trezor does not currently provide an iOS app, Christodoulou downloaded a doppelgänger Trezor application that boasted close to five stars, giving the impression that it was indeed an official app. After entering his seed phrase, Christodoulou said that his savings of 17.1 BTC were stolen.
4767  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My comeback in this forum on: March 31, 2021, 06:47:20 AM
Yes that is my old account. I gave it to my friend because I am really busy doing schoolworks. Now, I have the time to share my knowledge and also gain from other people in this forum. I just wanted to start a new account and I did not notice that there is some process in order to join in this forum.
That account indeed has big gap in posting activity, from August 2018 up until February 2020, so I guess it could have happened as you explained. But since that account got banned recently, and having alt accounts is in that case against the forum rules you are in the pickle as it will be kinda hard for you to prove that account wasn't in your control.

As others said, you can start ban appeal thread in Meta, but chances of you lifting the ban on that account ain't best, and until then you are forbidden to write anywhere on the forum expect on that thread.
4768  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My comeback in this forum on: March 31, 2021, 06:34:52 AM
If that's the case then I shall say goodbye to you all. I am not the one who did the post in my previous account and I am the one one shall suffer. Thanks
Your old account was Serious475, right? What confuses me here is that you said you were inactive since 2018, but someone was writing with that account up until February 11th 2021 when it got autobanned. So were you just lying, or you sold/gave your account away to someone else, as you said thhat "you are not the one who did posts on your previous account". Care to explain what's going on here?

That account is also involved in some interesting merit share.
4769  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: March 30, 2021, 09:04:45 PM
I don't know if you guys are keeping eye on the merit senders to banned users but this one looks suspicious : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2762272
Most of the top senders are merit sources and its acceptable to send sometimes to accounts that look promising but turn out to be plagiarists or crossing the rules somehow. But this guy is not a merit source at least I could not see is as one. He has sent merit to 19 banned users based on the stats from theymos : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsendban

If anyone has the time to make a little deeper check I'll appreciate it Smiley looks quite fishy to me. There are other people in the list with aslo interesting stats..
First of all, I think that stats from theymos count amount of merit sent to banned users, and not the number of banned users that someone merited. With that being said, there is some strange coincidence, as beside the one you already mentioned, 3 more names stick out on that list that don't really have high amount of merit sent, but for some reason they all sent big chunk of their merit to the same banned user, Serious475

Among others, Serious475 received:
-22 merits from Peanutswar
-9 from Alucard1
-7 from Trinx01
-5 from Eureka_07

Those 4 accounts tend to exchange merit among themselves too:

Alucard1 sent most of his merit to Peanutswar, Trinx01 and Eureka 07
Trinx01 sent 7/10 of his merit to the same account, Serious475. Out of 3 other accounts that received merit from him, two are Alucard1 and Peanutswar
Eureka07 sent most of his merit to  Peanutswar, Serious475 and Alucard1
Peanutswar sent most of his merit to Alucard01, Serious475 and Eureka_07

Now whether this is just a coincidence, I don't know. But I do know that merit abuse is kinda hard to prove. Maybe there is something to be found among addresses being used for campaigns, but its getting kinda late here to start that kind of work.

4770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 30, 2021, 07:53:34 PM
I do agree that Mank was a wonderful movie but The Father was a different feeling you know, maybe that's because my grandma had the same thing but I guess that's something personal that anyone could feel connection to even if not it is in their family. The fact is that we all grow up, and we all get old, and even if not at that level, we may not have the clearest memory at certain point and not full capacity working brain after a while as well. In any case he played it perfectly and that was a wonderful movie.
Despite The Father being a drama, when you think about it, it was actually a pretty scary and disturbing movie. I read at few places that thats exactly how dementia looks like and that Hopkins (and Director & Screenwriter) was spot on, in the way that illness was presented. I saw people being portrayed in that state in some other movies, but it was never as terrifying and detailed as in this one.

That's why I said in my previous post that Hopkins would easily win his 2nd Oscar if it was normal situation. Since I am at it, I do think that Olivia Colman deserves Best Supporting Actress Oscar too, as both Maria Bakalova (Borat) and Youn Yuh-Jung (Minari) were inferior to her while they have better chances to win according to bookies, for God knows what reason. Just academy being academy I guess... but those compensations are the worst. Like when Pacino didn't get an Oscar for Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon or Godfather 2, but he got it for that cringe fest also known as Scent of a Woman, instead of Clint Eastwood for that masterpiece Unforgiven and especially Denzel Washington for by far his best performance ever in Malcolm X!

Due to COVID cinemas here in France have been closed most of the year (and still are) so I've not seen most of the movies. In fact I've only seen Tenet and I'm pretty sure it will win something.
Yeah, unless you are ready to illegally obtain them its practically impossible to watch all of them by now, but few of them are available on Netflix (Mank and Trial of the Chicago 7). Regarding Tenet, it will probably win those Oscars in technical categories.

I had to carefully select my personal favourites and am so convinced of their winnings not minding their odds but carefully going through some history to check if the actually fit for the winnings. Wishing them all best of luck
Thanks for your input, I will soon make my own list. I plan to do both who I think will win, and who I would like to win, so some kind of combo.
4771  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reliable Telegram groups? on: March 30, 2021, 10:54:52 AM
Searching for a reliable Telegram trading group is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Signal to noise ratio on Telegram is so bad that you would have to go through tons of garbage, scam and spam in order to maybe find a legit one.

Some of those shitty free groups have "VIP" versions for those that are willing to pay monthly sub, and trust me those are even worse. They advertise and lie about their success in that free group, and then when you pay you realize that profits are grossly over exaggerated. As one friend who bought one of those "VIP" memberships explained to me, the way they trick you is that they lie in free group that they made some successful trade with x20 leverage, while in reality what they did is x2. But by time you realize they suck, you already gave them $100+.
4772  Other / Meta / Re: How these guys have an active thread? on: March 30, 2021, 09:13:45 AM
It is supposed to be considered as spam and all the conversations created by the shills should be deleted and I am also agrees that there should be a rule against such kind of behavior because bumping threads using incentives is against the rule so the thread will be immediately trashed but if they are using the account bumpers and paying out which is clearly visible but still there is no action.
Problem here is that you have to provide some proof that those altcoin projects are indeed paying those sock puppet accounts. So literally you would have to find something like  this on their website in order to get ANN deleted (this was an airdrop case though, but it resulted in ann getting deleted). That kind of evidence unfortunately you wont find from those that hired bumping service.

You can connect as much accounts as you want to as many threads, and it still won't be enough to get ANN deleted, as visible from sheet I made some time ago for that purpose. At least 17 accounts consistently working on at least 14 different threads (there were probably more threads but this was enough to make a point) simply can't be coincidence. So yeah, all you can do really until (if) rules change is to report single posts and thats about it.

4773  Economy / Reputation / Re: Let's take action against unpaid Signature/Bounty campaign together. on: March 29, 2021, 05:40:37 PM
After creating scam accusation, DT will tag them red if they found proper information. And project will lost their reputation in forum. But, outside for forum their reputation still increased. I know so mich much people, who not follow btt.
How many times I tagged scam project, and bounty hunters kept joining bounty campaign, and then they come few months later crying how they have been scammed, while creator of the bounty was tagged and flagged. No DT member can help you really, in the end its always up to bounty hunters. DYOR and start valuing your own time.

So the moral of the story is: don't join a campaign/bounty that doesn't have a reputable manager at the helm, and don't join unless the funds to pay the participants are escrowed in advance.  And even then, there's so much that could go wrong but at least if you have those two things in place it's much less riskier to join one of these bounties.
Exactly this. Even if you join bounty campaign with reputable manager, chances of you ending up with nothing of almost nothing are pretty big. Projects can fail to raise enough funds, value of tokens might drastically go down, token distribution can be delayed etc. So many things can go wrong in those few months since you start the campaign and until distribution. It really baffles me that there are so many people who are ready to do that. But then again, majority of work done by bounty hunters is pure garbage with zero reach,  so it really surprises me that altcoin bounty campaigns even exist.

Regarding escrow, I don't think that altcoin projects will ever accept that, at least not majority of them. Even if reputable bounty manager refuses to host such bounty campaign, they will always find someone who will accept anything just to get that job.
4774  Other / Meta / Re: How these guys have an active thread? on: March 29, 2021, 05:24:16 PM
Watching with regret that the same group of users are bumping the thread with the same garbage. Other day I reported the tread by requesting to lock it to the mod but no response yet.
Not getting a response to your report is a kind of response itself, when you think about it. All you can do is to report posts and that's about it. In some cases they stop with spamming when enough posts get deleted.

I am not sure if there is a rule about creating fake conversations by the same group for the sole purpose of bumping threads. But if not, that should be added. If an entire thread page is covered with posts of the same group of users and that same group dominates the entire thread with unnecessary comments, admins should react to it.
Unfortunately there is no rule against that. Some time ago I started thread here in Meta asking can those threads with no real conversations and  basically only paid shill be removed, but I never got an answer.. If you check that thread you will see few examples of completely useless and spam filled threads that I reported and of course my reports stayed unhandled.

The only way to get thread removed (from my experience) is if you get a solid written proof that users are indeed getting paid to write on thread. In most cases it happens when some altcoin project organizes airdrop and set comment as one of the requirements and of course published that rule on website/Telegram group. In my opinion it should be extended to bumping services as its pretty obvious to everyone what is going on.
4775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 29, 2021, 02:26:19 PM
I was only telling everyone that there is more behind the Oscar awards than judging the winners for their film quality and quality of acting. There now is politics and the manipulation of what the world’s sentiment should be. I reckon if George Floyd was killed and the black lives matter movement begun today, all major awards will be won by a black director, actor, actress and producer for any movie about black oppression.
Of course there is more behind the Oscars than just judging by the quality. Studios spend a lot money on lobbying each year and then their is agenda that Hollywood pushes etc. But even if everything is legit there is no guarantee that film we think is the best would win, as this will always be subjective to some degree.

If you are a lover of the drama genre, maybe Minari is worth watching because the plot is enough to make the audience curious about how it ends and is well packaged by the director. However, for viewers who don't really like the Drama genre I think this will be quite boring, because the storyline is a bit similar to some local films and it's easy to guess how it ends. I honestly don't really like drama genre, and prefer animation like soul. Soul has a light but very meaningful groove.
It's true that those who don't like dramas will probably find Minari boring. Same goes for other three dramas nominated in Best Picture category; Sound of Metal, Nomadland and The Father. Then again, I don't understand how someone that likes movies can dislike good drama, but to each his own.

I might not like everything he does, but I'll give him that he's really open and willing to try new artistic concepts, but maybe his intention to cater to the more upscale movie theaters with Tenet rubbed some people the wrong way.
My problem with Nolan is that along the way he stopped caring about characters in his movies, and so did I. And that was my main problem with Tenet, honestly not giving a fuck about anything that goes on. I don't mind style over substance thing (good example is Promising Young Woman which I liked)  but I am not fan of his style (and ideas) either. I really liked his movies before, but sometimes after Inception it went downhill for me.

I finally managed to watch The Father as it "leaked" few days ago and all I have to say that if Chadwick Boseman was still alive, Anthony Hopkins would win the Oscar easily for his role. That was in my opinion his best performance since Silence of the Lambs.

After watching all nominated movies, I still can't decide which one I liked the best. Tough year to decide, as none really stands out.
4776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Large percentage of Americans still don't understand how bitcoin works on: March 29, 2021, 11:37:06 AM

I am sure 99% of Visa users don't know how Visa works as well. But that never stopped people from using it Smiley
Wanted to say exactly that. But thats not just case with Visa, 99% of the people have no idea how fiat money is created, but that doesn't stop them from using it. Hell, I am sure that thought never even crossed their mind, and same can be applied for everything else that people are using on the daily basis.

People want ease of use above everything, and when BTC reaches that point (along with cheap fees) it will enter the mainstream, as simple as that.

But that's only a screenshot of your conversation with someone called "Zlatko Mahic", and you already shared that before. In one of your previous posts you said that "If Your Say You did not Fix Bug Then I will Show all Bugs in Here If You Force me to Prove " so I asked you to provide some proof of all those bugs that you find and that it was fixed only after your intervention.

But as i said before, even if you provide proof of that, all you got from MMAON admin is some vague promise of tokens if bug is real, with no exact criteria what "real bug" means, how much tokens you gonna get etc. I suggest that you change your approach from now on.

Warning:  I found this post amusing; it reminds me of old “why beer is better than a girlfriend” lists posted to Usenet.  However, I always do a quick check before raining down plaudits; and I advise caution before laughing too much.  If OP tries to sell you a girlfriend, what you actually receive will probably be an inflatable sheep.
Yep, there used to be quite a few of those "better than a girlfriend" lists for various stuff and the only thing worse than @OP reputation are reactions of people who are taking this seriously and writing stuff like 'worst comparison ever" etc. Smh...

Who the fuck wants a “partner” or “SO”!?

I wholeheartedly agree!

4779  Economy / Reputation / Re: Let's take action against unpaid Signature/Bounty campaign together. on: March 29, 2021, 07:03:49 AM
The only way this has any chance to succeed is if you simply stop joining campaigns whose funds are not escrowed. And preferably not escrow tokens, but something more valuable like BTC/ETH/stablecoins because it's very easy to make those escrowed tokens worthless by simply making a new one.

But for that to happen you will have to have huge support of your fellow bounty hunters and unfortunately there is always a decent amount of those who will simply ignore your effort and continue to do the same thing; joining as much campaigns as possible and hoping that some will pay.

If project cheat with us, Then we will destroy that project all together. We will success this mission, If we work together and if we get support from forum seniors.
I don' think that "forum seniors" can do much about this. You may eventually destroy altcoin project's reputation here on the forum, but if they are ready to cheat you out of the tokens, they obviously don't care much about that.

I wish you good luck with your effort, but in the end its all up to you, no senior member can save you from yourself.

If a project scam you, you can create a thread about such project in scam accusation.
Chances that some project will change their mind after that are imho slim to none. By then its already too late.

Until bounty hunters change their stance towards bounty campaigns, this will keep happening. Before even thinking about joining altcoin bounty campaign, first I would ask myself "would I ever invest my own money into this?" If the answer is yes, then I would make sure that funds are escrowed before proceeding with bounty campaign. I mean, I often hear bounty hunters mentioning "hard work" etc. If its really hard work in question, why lowering your standards so much and joining every possible campaign without much thinking?

If Your Say You did not Fix Bug Then I will Show all Bugs in Here If You Force me to Prove
Force you to prove? You should have done that right from the beginning, show all those bugs that you found, as that's how this is supposed to work; you have to show some evidence for your claims as few screenshots of your conversation ain't much of a proof of anything.

I just checked their Telegram group and I couldn't find any mention of bug bounty or anything similar of that sort so I really don't understand why you went and did all that. Just don't tell me that you casually browsed the website and that you didn't look for bugs on purpose. On the other hand, I did find that part about rewarding one of the users for finding the scam group, as mentioned by @DarrenMMAON
