4761  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto for the development of local farmers...can.....? on: November 18, 2021, 11:58:27 PM
I think crypto currencies could help farmers to acquire equipments and goods for growing their crops or feeding their animals for a cheaper price. You know in many countries farmers don't have access to equipments such as vehicles (tractors), energy systems (solar, wind), structures (greenhouses), inputs, pesticides and medicines in general produced in their own places, forcing them to pay a very expensive price to import those items, which are necessary to increase the productivity of their farms considerably, while decreasing the effort needed to achieve that.

In part, the price to be paid is too expensive due to bureaucracy imposed by governments in the formal market. If crypto currencies are used, there is a chance part of this price will be reduced, becoming more affordable for every farmers around. However, a specific crypto isn't a must. We can just use an existing one, like bitcoin, for an example.
4762  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $100,000 in December? on: November 18, 2021, 10:47:53 PM
Let's see how deep the most recent correction is going to take bitcoin, so we can have a hint about how further bitcoin can reach by the end of this year. I just hope it doesn't take too long for the correction to cease, because if it does, there are serious chances bitcoin isn't going to hit 100,000$ or even 80,000$ or 90,000$ this year yet.

Personally I think there isn't a strong reason to justify the crash in price we see right now. There aren't important events to back it, what makes me believe it's just some whales cashing out their funds and not a serious crisis involving waves of investors getting their funds out of crypto market fearing a bearish season, what could generate a harmful domino effect.
4763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are crypto owners naturally paranoid? on: November 12, 2021, 02:52:34 PM
If you just want to store your coins a cold wallet is the best choice, because this way you have the assurance your money will be untouchable for how long you want. And I don't think there is a serious risk of messing everything up. You just need to be responsible and store your keys in a safe decent place. When you buy the physical wallet the company send you everything you need to keep the informations needed to access the device organized.

But since you mentioned blockfi, I suppose it's more convenient to deposit your funds in different online platforms, so your coins won't stay "idle". They will generate passive income while you don't use it.

Can you sign a Bitcoin message from your profile address or an address you previously deposited from?
I managed to make it work by changing my smartphone time settings to automatic instead of local timezone of my country. The cause of the issue was the delay between those two different times. Made my withdrawal now correctly, thanks.

When this happens to me, it's because where the authenticator app is installed, it has a different time from the device I'm logging in, so I synchronize the hours of both devices and I take advantage of and synchronize the hours of the app with those of the server... and it always solves. .. 30 seconds make the difference.
Thanks to you too, my friend, you opened my eyes to try the method that fixed the issue.
4765  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tesla accepting Bitcoin payments and ..... Doge ? on: November 12, 2021, 04:29:58 AM
Been a few days and nothing is confirmed yet. Maybe they are still implanting the software. So far if you follow that Twitter thread a few people called out the guy that posted it. Mostly because it was a new account and the address where he sent the doge was empty.

A few days later the guy posted a response. Saying that he wants to be anonymous and he sent the payments but it was to another doge address. The doge address in the photo expired but he got another one where he actually did send the funds. So to me it seems legit. Probably need to wait a few more weeks however.
Maybe Elon was the author of the fake news behind the anonymous profile to create some hype in crypto market, leading his public to not give up on doge and shiba inu after disappoiting some fans for not holding any shiba, even though he made some sympathetic jokes regards the altcoin in the past.

Anyway I don't think Tesla is going to accept these altcoins as payment method for real, because that just doesn't make sense if we think about any practical reason for this adoption. A big company doesn't accept a crypto currency as payment method just because it's funny. That would be ridiculous and useless as marketing, only reaching to a small bubble of fans, most of them poor people who don't even have money to buy a Tesla, as they are trying to join an altcoin get rich scheme promoted through jokes by the guru Elon Musk.

I need some help. I'm trying to cashout from freebitco.in, but I'm getting "incorrect 2FA code" error message.

Already attempted to fix authenticator app's time, but there was nothing to be fixed there. Now I can't even reset the 2FA to activate it again on the site, in case it's a bug.

Thanks in advance.

Try resyncing the 2fa rather than just setting the time. There's no bug with the reset 2fa link on the login page so what error message does it give?
I did. Opened a new browser, clicked reset 2FA in login page, wrote my key, deleted the old entry from my authenticator app and then restarted the 2FA activation again. Completed it successfully, but I still get the "incorrect 2FA code" message when trying to withdraw.

Maybe shouldn't I have deleted the old entry from my authenticator app?

4768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 NFT Games You Should Be Looking Forward To on: November 12, 2021, 02:02:41 AM
You can also add MIR4. It's working relatively fine and no investments are required to start playing (f2p). Probably it's going to become one of the most popular play to earn games. However, it's a very competitive game where almost the entire map is PVP, especially the most important areas for the development of your character. Sometimes it's really annoying and stressing to have your progress delayed because the interference of another players.

I have also heard about MIR4. I have even watched a friend playing. The graphics look great and it seems it is fun playing. The problem is that it is like a level-up game right? The fun will probably be gone after long hours of grinding. But you really need to grind in order to reach a certain level. Also the income will start only after reaching a certain level right? Meaning your efforts in the beginning will not be compensated whatsoever?
The game doesn't become boring, because there is an automatic function you set that allow your character to grind for you while you are AFK. This automatic function includes auto-mission, auto-gathering and auto-combat. Many players stay logged in 24 hours for this reason, so they never stop evolving in game.

To start earning real money you have to reach at least level 40 and complete some "conquests" to be able to mine the called darksteel inside the valleys (mines). If you are an active player I believe you can reach to the minimum requirements in 3 days or so.

Thank you very much for answering my query. Now I understand I really need to have a desktop computer for it rather than just a laptop. I think my laptop cannot survive being in use 24/7. This is the downside of a level-up game. Aside from long hours of grinding, you can turn on the automatic function or have it piloted by another person, but it also means you character remains busy even if you are AFK.

I am surprised at how level 40 could be reached in just 3 days or so. How's the income by the way? Is it worth all the grinding?
Hahaha, true, a desktop computer would be very welcome in this case. You can also check if you smartphone supports the game, because there is a mobile version as well, although the experience isn't complete by playing only this way.

In the beginning the grinding was totally worthful and the income awesome. The DRACO currency which you sell for another crypto currencies reached to 7$ or 8$, I can't remember exactly. It was speculated we could make 20$-25$ dollars daily easily, but as soon as the bots appeared and the players became more aggressive, the mining operation became harder and less rentable. At same time DRACO price also decreased and it's around 1,70$ right now, however it was pretty stable at 3$ until some days ago.

I was so satisfied with the profit made in the beginning that I felt incentivized to invest some money in the game to accelerate my progress, but now I confess I'm a bit unmotivated to continue with the same effort I was putting on it before. The game must remove the cheaters and give players who don't belong to top clans some decent opportunities to also thrive in game.

Right now if you are from the top clans' alliance of the server you are in heaven, nothing can stop or bother you, but if that is not the case you are doomed...
4769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sky Vegas could face legal action due to promotional emails on: November 12, 2021, 01:30:27 AM
Then why they had opened up their email into those users who had trying to get rid of their addiction? If you do know that you've been able to used it on your gambling activity before then its just right or sensible for you

on not to use or access those emails but if you are using your main ones and cant really be avoided then you could just simply not open those since you know it is from the gambling site/place itself.

Dont know if this would really be a strong legal issue because the house itself could really make out some defend in regarding on the situation.
I imagine it must be a big temptation for gambling addicted people to receive free spins emails and not open it. It's like offering to an alcoholic his favorite drink with the perfect look and adornments around the glass expecting he is going to deny it (of course it isn't going to happen). So it's a big mistake from gambling companies to play with the emotional of people passing through an addiction recovery or treatment and with so many new regulations popping everywhere to restrict gambling activity and advertisements even more, I'm pretty sure there are serious legal consequences for these unsolicited promotional emails, otherwise the casino wouldn't be so worried about apologizing for the situation.
4770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No one can continue ignoring Bitcoin on: November 12, 2021, 12:00:38 AM
Everyone see the goodness of Bitcoin which they embrace , Bitcoin is like the modern diamond (nobody hates diamond).
Not all people view it as a good thing. In reality, there are still many people claiming BTC is something not secure. We can say it is like a diamond because we are BTC lovers. While those people who don't know BTC, probably assume it as a worthless thing. You must know that many of my friends still don't believe that Bitcoin is secure to invest in. They think euphoria in BTC can be over any time.
That is because they fear volatility. Some people can't take the pressure of investing in something which can lose 50% of its price in a day or so, even though it's temporary. On the other hand, I believe bitcoin is already less volatile than it was in years ago, so the fear or dislike some people have regards the crypto currency will fade away as bitcoin becomes more consolidated as a trusted investment, especially among mainstream personalities.
4771  Economy / Economics / Re: Who wants to do what. Jobs or business.. on: November 11, 2021, 09:10:24 PM
Most people can't choose between having a job x or y, or between being a employee or employeer. All they can do is to take the opportunity that is currently opened to them with the hope something better will be disponible after some time. Of course the business owner position looks more interesting for most people, because they imagine it is an easy duty where all the have to do is to order people to do things.

But in fact, owner and manager positions are the most difficult, time and responsability demanding ones. So it's really not for everyone, and even though most people would like to have access to the benefits and advantages of those positions I'm sure they wouldn't want the negative aspects and renounces those same occupations also demand.

Sometimes it's better to be just a well paid worker instead of a manager with a restricted budget a lot of headaches.
4772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Entain to Get Gambling License in the Netherlands on: November 11, 2021, 08:19:35 PM
Curiously marijuana is legalized there, while gambling is severely stricted at same time. Anyway, for crypto gamblers these news don't have an impact at all, because only fiat platforms are going to be considered legit by the local regulators, consequently being endorsed by them, what doesn't mean it's an issue too, since gamblers from Netherlands will be still able to bet at crypto currency casinos they wish to access.
4773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you think of Meta (Facebook) allowing bets in the metaverse on: November 11, 2021, 07:49:09 PM
I don't like this idea of Metaverse very much. It looks like a rebranded centralized internet owned by Zuckerberg.
Can't we just be glad by having an open source internet where a plenty of gambling platforms already exist offering high quality services to their customers?

have you read Snow Crash or watched Ready Player One?
some people talk about the idea of building an open metaverse BEFORE Zuck does it, which is challenging

I believe we'll see some degree of interoperability in the future between different metaverses and the facebook one will be just one of many
then people will be able to choose.
I've never heard of these before, but just searched about Snow Crash after reading your post. Zuckerberg is clearly being inspired by old science fiction novels in an attempt to increase his influence and control in the world. Probably you are right and there is going to be many metaverses versions competing among themselves for domination and supremacy. However I think it's going to take long years yet until we have access to a decent metaverse like the ones we see at some action movies, because our currently technology and internet quality aren't enough to offer this kind of experience to users yet.

When this day comes, I still worry because people will exchange their physical, real experiences for virtual, mental experiences exclusively through avatars (a third party body in other words). That means people won't live for real anymore. Even though the called metaverse becomes extremely complex, for me it will be a "The Sims" game anyway.

4775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 10, 2021, 12:54:16 AM
The competition for advancing to the World Cup is still going on very closely in the Group G:

Turkey are chasing Norway and Norway are trying to run away from them. They both won their last two games. And in four days, Turkey are going to play a home game against Gibraltar. And Norway are going to play a home game against Latvia. Turkey have a really easy task to do. Gibraltar are one of the most terrible teams of this tournament. They are not much different than San Marino. So Turkey should be able to demolish them. And when it comes to Norway, Haaland is still injured but Sorloth seems to be back. Latvia are another weak team in the group and I don't expect Norway to make a mistake here.
Norway still has the advantage. They are 2 points ahead of Turkey, what means even though Norway achieves a tie against Latvia they will be able to score 18 points, that would be the same score of Turkey in case they win against Gibraltar. If that happens Norway will be still in second place taking the goal difference in consideration.

The only problem for Norway on this scenario is that they still have a game against Netherlands, the most difficult team of the group, while Turkey will have to deal only with the weak Montenegro team.
4776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to store your keys? on: November 10, 2021, 12:05:02 AM
If I had such amount I wouldn't worry about keys, because these coins would be splitted among different third party platforms to generate passive income.
And why handing out them, when it already generates you a decent passive income? Isn't there a higher risk of losing more money than actually earning?
It generates a passive income in dollars if you consider the increasements in bitcoin price, but your bitcoin balance will be drained along the time if you don't invest your coins anyway. And even though you believe 2000 bitcoins are enough for you to live your entire life, the scenario completely changes if it were actually true, because when life standards improve, the person feels the necessity of spending more money in a daily basis.

I still think the risk of losing money is lower than earning from investments in third party platforms, since you invest in sites which offer realistic interest rates and have decent reputation backgrounds. In the case of a hypothetical scam, investors can also file a lawsuit against the company.

Bitcoin's purpose, like the purpose of any currency, is to serve its holders in the most effective and profitable possible way. Otherwise, what would be the point?
The purpose of a currency is to be used as a medium of exchange. It's never been said that it has to serve its holders neither that it must be profitable to hold it.
Well, if you use it as a medium of exchange, it is already serving its holders in a way, that was what I mean.
4777  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do spectators now know better? on: November 09, 2021, 07:36:43 PM
-Is there a possibility that spectators of a sport like you and i with no professional training can develop a better understanding of a sport than some professional coaches of some teams?
Yes, it's possible, but often it's just because of asymmetric information. Pundit only looks at the match day performance, and not measuring progress, fitness level, and training performance. Often the coach sees Player A is in a good physical shape, training well, seems can be trusted. But on D-Day, he plays like a crap. Thus Pundit questioned the coach judgment instead of other things, like Player A choked. Conversely, Player B is a troublemaker (not discipline), not training well, and prone to injury, but he often plays well on D-Day. Thus, fans and Pundit think he is a better player and should be played more where it can be just a fluke.

Speaking of tactics, the team needs to understand and execute tactics correctly before it can be deployed in a real match. Often, pundits are just like "why not use tactics X or Y?" when the coach already tried it but failed in training.
What you say makes sense...

Have anyone ever heard of Dunning Kruger effect? This effect shows the more uneducated, clueless people are about something, more confident they become that they have the perfect solution for that, because they see everything in a very plain, simplistic way. I think I could relate it to spectators who imagine they are more capable than teams' coaches, while in fact they don't know anything, because they don't participate the daily life of the team, trainings and preparations for the games. So I don't think spectators know better.
4778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to store your keys? on: November 09, 2021, 06:25:55 PM
Bitcoins purpose is to be used as a peer to peer currency and not to be deposited on a third party website which centralizes it, in the hope of earning passive income at a huge risk of losing your stash or getting your identity exposed.
If you wish to use Bitcoin effectively, use it for daily purchases a merchants that accepts it,
For it to be profitable, store it safely and speculate that the price would rise in the future.
But by saying bitcoin purpose is this one and not that one you are also centralizing its purpose. Can't bitcoin's purpose be to help each investor on what he most needs in his individuality?
Furthermore there are strategies to decrease the risks when investing, like splitting your coins among different investment programs as I mentioned. And since all kinds of investments are under constant risk, including investment in bitcoin for holding speculative reasons, why should we fear only generating passive income from bitcoin?

You make an excellent point. However, by dividing it into multiple investments, the total amount is still the same 2000 bitcoin, but it has been spread across a number of different investments. The problem with this is that you now have multiple wallets or keys to store on, which raises the question of how to keep it safe and secure. Here in our country, trezor is extremely well-known, and I believe that this is the best method of safeguarding the massive amount of bitcoin that we intend to store in a room that is not particularly large, but which has high levels of security, in my opinion. or a simple one that you can hide somewhere in your house that is fireproof in case of emergency and is also not visible to anyone else.
That is true. Imagine how many passwords, secret recovery phrases, google authenticator codes and disponible time would be needed to manage so many accounts in different sites. Cheesy
Probably a financial manager should be hired as well! What would make sense for someone who has about 136$ million dollars in bitcoins.
