4781  Other / Meta / Re: Should ICOs without blockchains be removed from Alternate Cryptocurrencies forum on: July 26, 2017, 05:15:01 PM
Theymos is based in the US and pays US taxes. Not sure where the forum is actually hosted but that will be irrelevant and the forum will certainly be governed by US law. With that being said, as far as I'm aware there don't seem to have been any issues with the ponzis posted here but I wouldn't be surprised if the forum does catch the eye or wrath of some US authority eventually.
4782  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: July 26, 2017, 05:09:04 PM
Ive been online for almost an hour, my post is 50+ but my activity still at 28. Why is that?

Because you need to learn and understand how activity works. As has been explained hundreds of times you can only get 14 activity every two week period so you're activity wont update any more till then (which is this Tuesday I believe).
4783  Other / Meta / Re: How to make logo for the coins? on: July 26, 2017, 04:53:30 PM
What are you talking about?  An image logo or signatures or something? If it's an image logo then you'll just have to use Photoshop or something similar. People can create bbcode signatures for you in the services section.
4784  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: July 26, 2017, 04:49:51 PM
Can I ask question? Do I need to stay online for 1 hpur to make my activity counts updated?

No. As long as you make a post in the activity period it will update within the hour.
4785  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The lagest Bitcoin mixer is about to stop working on: July 26, 2017, 04:35:18 PM

He's probably just spreading FUD. It is much more likely to be the btc e guy but I've not seen anything concrete so I would disregard it as mere speculation based on rumour right now.
4786  Other / Meta / Re: Does the incentive to post rule(in the Altcoin Section) apply to other sections? on: July 26, 2017, 03:38:29 PM
Well I think it was just because it fell under the alt coin giveaway rule, but personally I don't think it should be permitted to make people post in a specific thread because it's a violation of the one bump per 24 hours rule. It's also essentially forcing many users to make a post they probably have absolutely no interest in making thus increasing the chances of a hollow shitpost.
4787  Other / Meta / Re: [WTF] MY ACCOUNT GOT BANNED AFTER JOINING WAVES CAMPAIGN on: July 26, 2017, 02:45:29 PM
lol haha im not charice anymore, im now jakezyrus.  it says my account has baned 3days and banned my signature for 30 days. i dont know if it is the bots fault or mods.   this is the bot im talking about , it is from waves campaign : https://beincampaign.com/Waves/
ive been checking and checking my post count there and one time i check again my curent post count i recieve a message that "you must install signature on your profile and post your details in the main page to apply"  i thought the bot has a bug again, then i check my profile and boom. isaw a message "sorry your are baned from joining a pay to spam campaign" damn[/b]

Then it's to do with this:

That is very much not allowed. The threads are trashed, the poster is banned for 60 days, everyone who participated is banned for 3 days, and everyone who participated cannot display a signature for 30 days.

Please don't post outside of Meta during your ban.
4788  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The lagest Bitcoin mixer is about to stop working on: July 26, 2017, 02:09:53 PM
For someone who gets paid to post and earnings are sent through the gambling site (Bitsler) like me, I use a mixer because my local exchange site does not allow BTCs coming from gambling sites (they will suspend my account or close my account) and known HYIPs that's why I am dumbfounded by Bitmixers decision and might look for other alternatives that offers same service with same level of trust earned by Bitmixer.

There are always legitimate uses of such services, but of course nefarious people will also (ab)use them. I don't think there was anything inherently wrong or illegal with bitmixer or other such tumbling services, but of course that wont stop the USG coming after them.

Anyway, so what happens with the signature campaign now? is it still running?

No, of course not. Why would it? Lauda already announced it was closed.

Where does it say anything about Bitmixer?
4789  Other / Meta / Re: [WTF] MY ACCOUNT GOT BANNED AFTER JOINING WAVES CAMPAIGN on: July 26, 2017, 01:56:40 PM
I wonder if they were 5-6 lines of copy and pastes? Nobody can help or you or tell you what your account was banned for unless you tell us the name of it.
4790  Other / Meta / Re: Should ICOs without blockchains be removed from Alternate Cryptocurrencies forum on: July 26, 2017, 12:27:11 PM
In fact it does generated a big trafic in term of pageviews, and that make forum ads more and more valuable, with price increasing substantially at each round.

These icos could disappear tomorrow and the ads on this forum would not diminish at all. In fact, if that happened they'd probably bring in much more money than they already do because many of these icos would then bid on slots as they would have no other option to advertise themselves here.

So you are requesting an entity totally unpowerful outside the U.S. to mess in the crypto-sphere just because people are raising money ? Investors are not dumb as some may think here. If they invest it means that they want to do it, and I do not find it too fair to go against the will of the people while Bitcoin was created to promote total liberty, for whatever it is.

I'm not requesting it I just hope these get rich quick scammers get what they deserve. Most of these icos have little to nothing to do with crypto or at the most are largely worthless or negative to it. Most are just straight up scams which are nothing but get rich quick schemes to make the operators millionaires. And I would seriously  question the intelligence of a lot of the people that invest in some of this crap because I doubt most of them will deliver on their promises.

And this is a private forum so you don't have total liberty. Look at how much liberty users already get and they abuse it on masse. There have been people caught with 200 alt accounts spamming the same reworded crap one after the other and they got paid to do it by these ico idiots  who don't care as long as their advert is getting spammed all over the forum. Dozens of campaigns pop up every month and do exactly the same so that's why you need some rules to play by sometimes and not just let the scammers and greedy capitalists run rife and unregulated.
4791  Other / Meta / Re: Skincoin bounty thread removed and ANN thread locked on: July 26, 2017, 12:07:42 PM
It was locked for breaking the rules of alt coin giveaways. See here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2045928.0

I sincerely hope all crapcoin sig campaigns meet the same fate.
4792  Economy / Reputation / Re: Looking for a trusted escrow service~1.5 BTC transaction~Recommendations? on: July 26, 2017, 08:43:18 AM
PS : I'm wondering what account could be sold for 1.5 to 2 btc  Shocked Not sure if OGNasty escrows those kind of trades.
There is absolutely no way that an account is worth >= 1.5 BTC. The only possibility that I see is a combination of the following:
1) DT2 account.
2) Donator/VIP.

Well someone certainly might pay that for a Staff account. Satoshis account would probably be pretty valuable if you could get it unlocked as well which almost certainly isn't going to happen unless someone gets a hold of satoshis private keys. I doubt any Scammer would pay more than a few hundred for even a highly ranked account with a couple of feedback though because you're more than likely to get busted on it before you even have the chance to scam.

PS : I'm wondering what account could be sold for 1.5 to 2 btc  Shocked Not sure if OGNasty escrows those kind of trades.
Then again, the OP might not be talking about a Bitcointalk account to begin with.

What kind of account are we talking about?
The OP is talking about his LocalBitcoins account and Paxful account, which he is selling in this thread.

Initially I'd thought it could be a scam due to the bids from newbies and via PM, and the mention of specific amounts of profit.  While I still think that these things are shady, it's great that the OP is accepting escrow.

Still, selling accounts that you use for trading is just a recipe for scams.  It's very annoying that these markets exist.

Of course the account is going to be used to scam others.  They like to set up fake identities make some fake trades and then scam the innocent ones.  Whose ever identity is on that LBC I feel bad for..........someone either the real scammer or the person the identity belongs to gonna get killed one day.

Sadly, it might have to come to that. In order for LBC and these other places to really check out their applicants.

Not necessarily. Some people just like to get their foot in the door so to speak, but it certainly does increase the chances it could be used for abuse as well.
4793  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: July 26, 2017, 08:10:53 AM
Sir "John (John K.)" thanks for your post regarding the upgraded rank in bitcointalk. Me ask a question sir, when we rank a junior member sir because my post is almost 60 but my activity is still 28 activity as of now.

You won't be able to get another 14 activity until the next activity period which is this Tuesday I believe. You will then immediately become a Jnr member when you make a post in that new period.
4794  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: July 26, 2017, 08:08:43 AM
How many posts can a newbie post daily?

There are no restrictions on how many you can post, but there are time restrictions which prohibit spamming. I would concentrate on the quality of your posts as opposed to the quantity because you can certainly be banned for making poor quality posts. You also cannot spam your way through the ranks due to activity levels so please read about them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0
4795  Other / Meta / Re: Should ICOs without blockchains be removed from Alternate Cryptocurrencies forum on: July 26, 2017, 08:04:21 AM
I don't it would be possible to remove ICO's from this forum at all. Bitcointalk is financially supported by ICO's - now we can see ICO advertisements in forum ad spaces. Why they would need to cut off branch on which they are sitting now.
I would agree if ICO's would have their sub-forum, to separate it from usual coins. Because now on Altcoin announcement board we see almost only ICO's.

Yes it would. We can easily disallow them and trash their threads. And how is the forum financially supported by icos? They pay absolutely nothing to the forum to post or promote themselves here unless they purchase advertising space and most do not. Most just pre mine a load of worthless tokens and dish them out to anybody who can be bothered to sign up and post the most basic of crap or copy and paste somebody else's responses. The level of spam and issues they contribute to the workload of staff is insane and they should be held responsible for that. If they're not just banned outright they should all have to pay something to advertise here because they shouldn't be allowed to advertise for free (which is crazy in itself) and it certainly shouldn't be at the expense of the forum when they do next to nothing about poor posters.

Relevant.

Sec rules that token sales / non blockchain ICOs are securities

https://www.reddit.com/r/Buttcoin/comments/6pj46w/sec_issues_investigative_report_concluding_dao/

I really hope they legally get shut down if this forum doesn't do something to stop or restrict them because the people who run them are some of the greediest and laziest people I've come across.
4796  Other / Meta / Re: mods don't do anything, report function pointless. on: July 26, 2017, 07:54:19 AM
When i report it says  "You have reported 10 posts with 100% accuracy"

So, how many times more i have to report to ban this two individuals (they are probably the same guy).

As mentioned above FUD isn't explicitly moderated, though if they're being a continual nuisance or trolling then that can be acted upon so contact mprep directly if you would like more action taken and he can weigh it up if further action is warranted.
4797  Other / Meta / Re: Paying to keep Thread on Top / Pay per Post on Bitcointalk on: July 26, 2017, 07:50:30 AM
That is very much not allowed. The threads are trashed, the poster is banned for 60 days, everyone who participated is banned for 3 days, and everyone who participated cannot display a signature for 30 days.

Can we extend this to alt coin campaigns paying out in anything other than bitcoin? As has been mentioned before a lot of them are not even cryptocoins just tokens and 99% of them do absolutely nothing about spam and all follow the same formula: pre mine a load of worthless crap then give half of it out to anyone who bothers to sign up with their 5,10, 50, 100, 200 alt accounts. The fact that numerous people have been caught getting paid out on 50-200 accounts tells you all you need to know about the lack of management on these campaigns and they're causing probably 98% of the spam right now. I would propose that if you're not paying out in bitcoin then you can't advertise via signatures here and any one that does so should have their threads trashed and accounts banned. The users that continue to advertise them should also have their signatures removed for x amount of time.
4798  Other / Meta / Re: AXED by Mod on: July 26, 2017, 07:43:02 AM
I think we should extend this rule to all alt coin campaigns as well and ban any that don't pay out in bitcoin. Paying people to post whatever crap they like without any checks is far worse and it effects the whole forum not just the shitcoin section.

but bounties are not giveaways.
bounties are kind of short term/micro jobs . we offer some rewards to users to perform specific tasks/jobs for us.. I don't think it should be called a giveaway.  nothing is being given away for free.

Posting in a thread is hardly a bounty. It's not only breaking the alt coin giveaway rule but they're also evading the one bump per 24 hours rule.
4799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting | Current pot: £380 - £20 buy-in on: July 26, 2017, 07:38:06 AM
So when are we supposed to send the 20 bucks?  The season starts on August 12.  So maybe we start sending the BTC starting a week before that?  Very excited.  Smiley

I'll probably start taking in money no later than the 7th. Would have done it on the 1st but there many be some issues with the upgrade.

I do be very happy to join  this game, at least am sure it wi be done fairly and it will soon start just about 2-3 weeks from now. I think the prize pool should be increased to about 400-500 .

I have no control over the total pot as it depends on how many players sign up, but if you're in that'll take it up to £400.
4800  Other / Meta / Re: bitcoin talk account security on: July 24, 2017, 11:50:03 AM
What I prefer is keep changing your password every 1 or 2 months because I have seen some cases of my friends who used the same password on other websites and their DB got leaked then their passwords were open source and they didn't even know about it till I made a search on his email on google.

The answer to that is simple: don't re-use passwords. I find people are more likely to lose access to their accounts if they change passwords frequently as people tend to forget them and are screwed if they lose access to their computer. Have a fairly strong password, don't re-use it, and make sure you have it safely written down some where and you should be good.
