I'm honestly not prepared to come down on either side of that. I just don't have enough information. But CSW has shown he can't bitcoin his way out of a paper bag on more than one occasion. Even according to his own narrative he's peripheral at best.

His later statements were an acknowledgment of the way Bitcoin was developing in practice. In any event, it’s moot because we are where we are with miners holding significant power.

It's an anonymous handle. There's no reason to rule out the possibility it changed hands more than once. There comes a point at which the intentions of a pen name are moot.
