There has been some very good giveaways lately in the games and rounds section of this forum.
You should look especially for giveaways hold by primedice because they are most generous.
From one giveaway I got over 0.05btc and right now you can get up to 0.1btc.

Giveaways are actually a great opportunity to earn bitcoins but they don't work out for everyone.
I once tried to do one but i couldn't figure it out and then left trying, giveaways mostly need skills like programming or video editing or photoshop abilities etc and if someone doesnt know something like that then it is hard for him to get a prize in giveaways.

Primedice giveaways never have required any skills like programming or video editing or photoshop.
Usually all you need to do is post your username and/or few bet ids.

Yeah primedice is always been easy for their giveaways you just need to follow easy instructions and you will be get paid and giveaways to you.
Maybe he is talking about the offers to give here in forum and get paid for his skill.

so long as I follow giveaway primedice in this forum, not too hard, and did not even must have the expertise.
but if you want to get bigger in the contest primedice usually you are already playing long enough in primedice, because it usually takes a condition wagered. looking for a giveaway in this forum is a pretty good way, because we can get great results, without making a great effort

But they host giveaways quite often so those small prices will add up quite fast.
I am not big gambler either and lately I have got 0.1btc from primedice giveaways in total Wink

No, there is no strategy that "works".
If there would be way to win from gambling with some strategy all gambling sites would be bankrupted already.
484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Touched $500 just now on: June 02, 2016, 11:24:05 AM
But it may reach a point, lets say 580 and we just need one bag holder to sell a significant number of bitcoins to cause panic selling.

What is that mark?

There has already been many over 25$ drops and even 50$ drop and they have not caused panic sell so why would drop from 580$ start panic sell?
And big investors who have enough to drop it more, I am quite sure they are not that stupid to go all in with their investments.

maybe it could happen panic sell when approaching halving if the price is around $580-600, then after halving there is no increase. it was definitely the people will sell at the price $580-600. because of the early goal they hold for halving.

You don't know why people think halving will make prices go up do you?
Why would people sell right at when the halving happens when that is when the price actually starts going up...

Halving doesn't just magically rise the price instantly to ath, it just means there will 54000 less coins available every month and that means price will be going up because demand for coins is still the same as it was before the halving.

Just noticed I got my 0.015btc from the free bet giveaway paid, thank you very much!
Make sure you participate in the one here, too!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1481798.0

But isn't that closed already? It says: "Giveaway closes on 31.05.2016 20:00 UTC and is available for the top 325 posters." If not I'm glad I'm not too late then. )

Nope, the end date was changed.
It closes at 7th of June.

488  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 01, 2016, 10:25:58 PM
I'm interested in the odds of winning the top prize. On the face of it, it would seem the odds of rolling a 10,000 would be 1 in 10,000; however due to the way the hash is converted into a five digit number, I suspect this may not actually be the case. But I am not proficient in the math to be able to understand how the hash is converted anyway, so I cannot figure it out myself. (Side note, with the number of rolls this site gets per day, if 1 in 10,000 of them were winning $200, I don't see how the site could generate enough money from ads to stay in business.)

So basically, I'm looking for the odds of rolling in each tier when taking into account the conversion from the hash to a 5 digit number.

0001 - 9885, implied odds: 98.85%; actual odds: ?
9886 - 9985, implied odds: 1.00%; actual odds: ?
9986 - 9993, implied odds: 0.08%; actual odds: ?
9994 - 9997, implied odds: 0.04%; actual odds: ?
9998 - 9999, implied odds: 0.02%; actual odds: ?
10000, implied odds: 0.01%; actual odds: ?

Are the implied odds and the actual odds the same?

From the site:

Quote from: freebitco.in
How are rolls calculated?

Two strings are created :
STRING1 = "[NONCE]:[SERVER SEED]:[NONCE]"
STRING2 = "[NONCE]:[CLIENT SEED]:[NONCE]"
For your last roll :
STRING1 = "5250:1464797785-lIL61ZFZyuaDg8Bb1dxq42CbphyIyos2YUL9itCr3WKIdps1P7ns71eWWcuMjJDa-96.95.116.29:5250"
STRING2 = "5250:3EkoE4cLHBBrGCnx:5250"
Then HMAC-SHA512 is used to hash STRING1 with STRING2 as the secret key, giving us a 128 character hex string.
The first 8 characters of the hex string are taken and converted to a decimal.
This decimal is then divided by 429496.7295 and rounded off to the nearest whole number.
This whole number is used as your roll, with the maximum possible value being 10,000.

Emphasis added.

I think that converting the string to a decimal, dividing the string by 429496.7295, and rounding to the nearest whole number probably makes the odds that the result is 10,000 far less than 1 in 10,000.

Does anyone know?

It has been calculated earlier in this thread that the possibility to win biggest price is 1 in 20000
Here is that post quoted for you.

Can you calculate how much he get from publicity per roll compared to how much he gives away?
Too many unknowns, do you want to start a similar faucet? Smiley I can tell you probabilities of payouts, and therefore average payout from one roll (without referrals):

[0 - 9885]: ~ 1/20000 + 9885/10000 = 0.98855
[9886 - 9985] ~ (9985-9886+1)/10000 = 0.01 (~ once per 100 rolls)
[9986 - 9993] ~ (9993-9986+1)/10000 = 0.0008 (~ once per 1250 rolls)
[9994 - 9997] ~ (9997-9994+1)/10000 = 0.0004 (~ once per 2500 rolls)
[9998 - 9999] ~ (9999-9998+1)/10000 = 0.0002 (~ once per 5000 rolls)
[10000] ~ 1/20000 = 0.00005 (~ once per 20 000 rolls)

sanity check: 0.98855+0.01+0.0008+0.0004+0.0002+0.00005 = 1

average payout (using values right now): (0.98855*0.00000438)+(0.01*0.00004376)+(0.0008*0.00043764)+(0.0004*0.00437637)+(0.0002*0.04376368)+(0.00005*0.43763676) =  0.00003750 BTC

Whoa, that's much bigger than I thought, but math checks out, it seems.

And I will receive the tracking code in to my email after my order has been sent, right?

I didn't get paid the amount I was supposed to. There's a zero missing at the end. Is this a bug or a mistake on the admins part? Either way I would appreciate it if you could clear this up.

You sir, you are a very dumb person

lol, I hope he was just joking.
But if you didn't, it is the same amount, zeros at the end after decimal doesn't make any difference.
1.10 and 1.1 and 1.10000000000000 are all exactly the same.
493  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: May 30, 2016, 12:45:15 PM
To get rich is not instant, the only instant is from gambling. You need to work and getting rich is not easy. Get graduated from university and do business.

Gambling will never make you rich, it can make you winner once or twice not everytime, and you cannot depend on only gambling to become rich.

Gambling can make you winner every time, if you only play once or twice Grin
And if you play lottery for even thousands times and you win millions you will be on profit for sure.

Today I noticed my faucet balance of 0.001btc was suddenly gone so I tried to look where it has gone.
I checked my login history and it seems like someone has been successfully login in to my account for very long time Huh
There is logins from very weird ip addresses for at least 3 months now, no idea how someone could have my password.
None of these logins is made by me https://i.imgur.com/uum5VHL.png

Maybe good idea to keep an eye on the people who flooding and spamming the chat to get massive more points. Yesterday I had a discussion on the chat about it and some are really abusing it. Not sure if you guys are already aware of this?

500 messages = 1 point

If they are spamming they will get muted before they get even 1 point.

I'm just scared of what'll happen.

Here's a summary: I deposited 13 Bitcoin to prove to all the people telling me I'm faking it in the gambling section that I'm not. Okay, great. 6 confirmations later (mind you, I've checked the logs around 20 times in this time for withdrawals and tips and there is nothing) I contact the support. They message me in a few minutes saying someone did a withdrawal. I checked, and boom! It's magically there. Someone did a withdrawal.

Now, here's the strange part.
Brute force: Not possible, account gets locked out after a few incorrect passwords.
Malware: Nope, I was using an iPad and that only.
Bot: I never use bots, only manual betting.
Password: I used a secure password, that was not in any DB matching the username because the username I used on PRIMEDICE was 100% unique and never before used.

I hope PRIMEDICE can help.

Hey,

I cant know how you got your account compromised. Its not possible.
What i know is that your balance was cashed out by different IP which means that he probably had your login info. If you ran script it would be your ip since it would be done from your PC/ipad..

As i told you before there is no way that we can refund that.
Anybody can just use VPN and do a cashout then claim that he got his money stolen.

I am not saying you are trying to do that but many people will.

You need to keep your account secure there is rely not much we can do to protect you, other than suggesting not to use scripts, bots and fake software that will hack pd... Also set strong password, change it from time to time and always enable 2fA.
But even that wont protect you from malicious scripts since you run them on pc where you are already logged in.

And I wasn't using a VPN! From the first confirmation I was in the chat asking why didn't my transaction come. Check the chat logs.

If they would pay you there would immediately be hundreds of people asking for this same thing because it is very easy to use another ip to empty your own account.

And even if there would be way to proof when coins are actually stolen, primedice still isn't theft insurance company Grin

Bitfinex BTC/USD reached 520$ briefly which I assume is the new year high? Bitfinex seems to be leading the race of this price rally, I wonder why that is.

And now it is 527$
And isn't the price in bitfinex always bit more than in other exhanges? I am not sure because that is the only one I keep my eye on but I think that is how it goes.
