482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 11, 2023, 09:17:40 AM
There is a big need of change in this team. I hoped to see it starting with Simeone's getting sacked this summer but it doesn't seem like it will happen. I guess that he will stay until the end of his contract - June 30, 2024.
Simeone is one of the longest manager in Laliga and Since he was arrived to Atletico Madrid Simeone was successfully to make this team never absense to playing at champion league in the last 10 years and under him too Atletico Madrid can able to broke the domination of Real Madrid and Barcelona with gets 2 Laliga title so at Atletico he has plenty of achievement and the good thing is Simeone did that without spend plenty of money to build the team

Simeone has earned the trust of Atletico board and there is no way that Simeone will be sacked for just one season of poor results. Over the years, he has managed to achieve a lot at Atletico Madrid and due to this board trust him a lot. It will be only possible if Atletico surprisingly performs poor to drop down to maybe below 10 in LaLiga or perhaps maybe like unable to qualify for UEFA competitions in consecutive years. Or maybe, Simeone wants to try some other league and part ways with the club.

But indeed his pilosophy which is some of people doesn't too like is because he has defensive style pattern and for some people too this pattern is not very entertaining because people are more likely want to see Atletico Madrid playing more attacking and i am not Atletico Madrid fans but i think Simeone should be staying at this team much longer because so far only Atletico Madrid who can able to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona and regarding his contract i think Atletico Madrid owner will giving contract extension to him immediately

Lot of managers, fans criticise such tactics. I remember the time when he used it against Liverpool and Man United and lot of fans criticized his tactics. It's not much entertaining but that's also part of football. I think Simeone will never move to "attacking" tactics and formation. If he does then he has to change the whole squad and it will require lot of time for new players to adjust to that.  He still has a year on his contract so most probably Atletico will open talks when his contract expiry is near.

Calling it, Guardiola will leave Manchester city this summer.

Big congratulation to him, but with infinite money it is easier to win.

But where? I don't see a reason for Pep to leave right after this marvelous season. I believe he'd like to do it back to back. I don't think he'll fit a club after City anyway. FC Barcelona, Bayern München, Manchester City, he did everything in three big clubs in three different leagues. Since French and Italian leagues are not that big he can't do better than anywhere else. I can't imagine him working in AC Milan or Juve after City.

Guardiola has contract until 2025 so he will be there for sure until then and also I don't think he plans to move yet to another league just yet. Also the message he *jokingly* sent to Real Madrid can also be slightly determined as him focusing on next CL from now. I am sure board are happy with what Pep has achieved here and will do everything in their hands to meet his demands so there is no problem there and also I don't see any discontent in the mind of Guardiola yet to make him move to a new league. I would say likely chances is for Guardiola to stay even after 2025 but that is what as things stands as of now.

@AnfieldWatch
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Benjamin Pavard has informed Bayern Munich that he wants to move in the summer. His agents are already talking to other clubs. Among them, Liverpool is now a hot candidate. #lfc [@cfbayern]
https://twitter.com/anfieldwatch/status/1667447081676546050

That will be a great transfer for Liverpool. Benjamin Pavard can give Klopp a really good option especially when he can play at both central defence and as right back as well. Manchester United also is reported to be in the race but since they are so much focused on Kim Min Jae, I would say that Liverpool have good chance on getting hands on Benjamin Pavard here. Would love to see him play in PL. I do wonder how much Bayern are expecting for Pavard here.

Ødegaard has a contract with Arsenal till 2025. I believe this is just going to be done because he deserves a better role in the team. The amount of money will also be changed. But I believe the main reason was to get a better role in the squad.

I believe that his role is pretty much clear as it is certain that he has become a crucial member of the squad and is a first team player. I would say Arsenal are offering contract extension early as they want to secure the player for a long term so that other clubs keep him out of radar for the time being.

William Saliba has certainly impressed. Actually, Arsenal as a team had impressed. It is just that Arsenal was not consistent enough towards the end.

Anyway, William Saliba performed well. I believe that the contract extension off him with Arsenal is going to be good for both parties. It will be interesting to see how Arsenal performs in the Champions League.

William Saliba was impressive in his loan at Marseille and had an impressive season which earned him regular chance at Arsenal. He really had a great season and saved us lot of money which we would have spent in transfer window buying another strong defender. He deserves a better contract and it seems that contract extension is done as reported by Romano [1].

Ideally, Real Madrid's midfield for next season should consist of Valverde - Aurilien Tchouameny - Camavinga - Bellingham.
The four talented young Real Madrid midfielders must often become regular starters in the 4:4:2 formation because maybe this formation will change in the second half to become 4:3:3.

Not to mention that later there will be Brahim Diaz and Dani Ceballos who will cover for Real Madrid's attacking midfielders in addition to Toni Kroos and Modric as seniors or permanent starters, Real Madrid next season will have many top midfielders. In my opinion, the 4 : 4 : 2 formation must often be used interchangeably with the 4 : 3 : 3 formation. But Real Madrid's biggest mistake is if there is no striker to replace Benzema, next season's competition will not go well, even though there are many young players.

By 4-4-2 formation, I am assuming you are suggesting to play Vinicius and Rodrygo in forward positions which I don't think will be much effective. They both lack lot of things that a striker should possess and I would not recommend experimenting it when they don't have striker at all if things doesn't works out in the season. Camavinga seems to have found his position as a left back in Ancelotti's lineup so I think Ancelotti will keep him at that position especially when they have none at that position and Camavinga is the best at that option. I feel like it will be mostly Kroos-Modri-Bellingham to start with others on bench ready to substitute as needed later in the game. As about strikers, some names like Havertz and Firmino were reported to be discussed so let's see what they get as that will actually determine the actual strategy Madrid will use mostly.

as the german 'kicker' reports the 22-yo feyenoord captain Orkan Kökcü is on the verge of a transfer from feyenoord rotterdam to benfica lisbon. for the turkish international is a transfer fee around €30 million in discussion

Yes it is true, after winning the Eredivise with Feyenoord it does seems that they he will make a move to Benfica now for 30m Euro fee. Here is Romano announcing the news with pic of Kokcu arriving at Lisbon [1].

In another news, Arsenal seems to be closing in on contract extension talks with William Saliba [2] who has really impressed Arsenal fans last season and has become a crucial part of the Gunners squad now. Also contract extension talks with Odeegard is still ongoing but that is expected to be done soon also as Odeegard is very crucial to Arsenal in this upcoming season where we have to compete in UCL as well.

[....] Man U, on the other hand, are playing at an average level...

Yeah I would agree on that. They are far to be considered a strong team. They have dropped some easy matches and have been defeated quite heavily at certain times but if you check their matches in this season, they have maintained better consistency. Eriksen and Casemiro has brought some stability in midfield but their defence needs to improve still. Maybe next season they can perform much better ; well that's how improvement works as you can't expect the result right away.

It seems like that barcelona will be making an official announcement for gundogan after UCL final match. Some articles have confirmed that Barcelona has agreed with Gundogan to go to the club in summer.. Kovacic has been reaching agreement with manchester city.

You will able to see kovacic to replace gundogan very soon. Manchester just need to finalize the deal with gundogan at this moment. I think that you will be seeing kovacic to play in manchester city as soon as possible. The transfer fee for kovacic was not a problem for manchester city at this moment. City was a rich team that can pay everything as chelsea wants.

Anyone can proceed City for Gundogan but the question is still not clear where does Gundogan wants to go? City are preparing for contract extension which will be produced before Gundogan after the UCL finals; Barca, PSG and Arsenal are all interested in Gundogan and they will also start talks after UCL finals only. Right now nothing is clear but it will be clear soon.

About Kovacic, it does seem that City will be able to get him from Chelsea but it doesn't necessarily means that they are planning for Gundogan replacement. Well it does seems like it but maybe they are adding another player into their midfield. Also Kovacic to City hasn't been done yet so maybe that deal also depends on Gundogan answer to the contract extension that City is about to provide.

Man U only started showing good results at the end of the season... But failed to achieve anything other than a place in the Champions League next season... It's probably too early to talk about any success because Man U has always been a top club that has often played in European Cups... This season they haven't won a single trophy, although they have competed in many competitions... I think they have a lot of work to do...

I would say given the pit they were in last season, it's tremendous achievement for them to make into top 4 at least. They have gone through a lot over the years so they did well. Also you can't expect them to get hands on everything in just a season of rebuilding. It would take a bit more time before they really can be considered as a contender in competitions. This season they actually won EFL when they faced Newcastle in the finals and scored 2 goals.

I would however agree that they still need to work a lot and hopefully ten Haag will cover that in next season.

Just remember that most of City players have good chance to score, so it wouldn't be a big issue if the Inter defenders can mark Haaland tightly. Gündoğan is the most underrated City player but he able to scored important goals. Grealish and Bernardo are fast, and Rodri is tough as well. The problem is their defense, so I expect both team to score in this finale.

I totally agree on that. Marking Haaland isn't the only thing that Inter defender needs to do. Gundogan, Silva and De Bruyne can really become troubles for Inter. I like the way that Guardiola has given the license to Gundogan to go inside the box and try the shots. Earlier it used to be only De Bruyne but now we see Gundogan very often leaping on those chances. Secondly the wingers like Grealish who is very fast and can create space for himself and try to find Haaland inside with crosses and from right wing there is Mahrez who we have seen can also try some good curling shots from the right hand side is also something that Inter defense needs to note down.

If you ask me a solution for Man City, then I would say Inter need immense work rate from each of their player, their responsibilities, roles in order to keep City's attack at bay.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 08, 2023, 10:19:08 AM
The English premier league is survival for the fittest. Consistency is the only active factor that matters in football, especially in elevated competitions. Arsenal lacks the consistency to keep winning games, ceding points to mediocre clubs, and bargaining with equal strength in the last days of the Premier League season. Pep Guardiola knows his former colleague's weaknesses and made advantage of them, streak winning games and putting the gunners' confidence fully on the point of defeats, meeting them numerous times and winning them in all phases.

Yeah consistency is the key behind any club's success but with Arsenal, they started very well and were consistent for almost most of the games until the injuries to the crucial players hit us and we started to wobble a bit and dropped lot of crucial points we needed near the end of the season. Still we did our best and managed to finish 2nd which isn't bad considering how we have struggled to get into top 4 over the years. Arteta is making team strong bit by bit so I am confident that if things goes like this then we will be able to win PL soon in coming years.

In this season, Dortmund made a big profit just by releasing Jude Bellingham to Madrid. not to mention, there are several other players that other big clubs might be interested in, for example, Adeyemi whose performance is starting to improve towards the end of this season. it could also be Youssoufa Maukoko who was linked with several big clubs who were interested in him. So far, Dortmund is a successful club with their business style even without much support from sponsors and ticket sales.

Dortmund was always a club who made a lot of profit by selling their players. And the sum for Bellingham is huge. They bought him for 25 million euros in 2020 and now he is to be sold for 103 million euros. Although his contract runs until 2025, they have already decided to sell him. I do not know if it would be better to wait for another year. He has performed really well since 2020.

Yeah Dortmund are smart at picking up players and developing and selling them too. They have developed lot of good players over the years and sold them mostly over 70-80m Euro mark easily.  Also Dortmund are not the type of club to hold down a player when player wants to move. In here Bellingham already wanted to move to Madrid and Dortmund as usual don't want to hold the player as usual. I haven't seen them trying to convince a player who wants to move to stay.

it was Bowen all along, to secure a win
due to Moyes, I was backing West Ham tonight, and they won it, it was not easy, but trophies are all that is counting

Yeah Bowen sealed the deal in the 90th minute. Fiorentina were dominating a bit in the game but its the goals that matters in the end. Tough season for Hammers in PL but they managed to win a UEFA competition under Moyes. I actually at one point was thinking that Moyes will be sacked after watching the way Hammers were performing till mid-season.

looking at Italians in finals, Roma was somewhat closest to winning title before everything started, and now it seems that all finals will be lost, cannot image Inter being the force that will raise from ashes and crack City (although I would like to see that, especially if Dzeko is scoring)

Both City and Inter are looking for trebles here so I am expecting Inter put in all their energy into the finals. I also don't have much expectation from Inter but hope that they put a good fight going down in the finals making a good entertainment for us.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 07, 2023, 03:56:35 PM
It is time for Mikel Arteta to get busy in the transfer window as Arsenal will finally have a chance to play in the Uefa Champions League again after missing out this major tournament for such a long time.

Right now, Arsenal are waiting for UEFA Conference League final to conclude after which they will begin talks for Declan Rice. We do need to cover the space in midfield left by departure of Xhaka and I feel Rice is right piece to patch things up. Recently an interesting report has emerged which I think you will like if you are an Arsenal fan and it is about Joao Cancelo. Cancelo is been discussed as a target for this upcoming transfer window as his loan spell will expire and Bayern don't plan to trigger the buyout clause.

I think Mikel Arteta might need to get in better centre-back defenders as their defense does look kind of shaky whenever their opponent launch a fast counter attack resulting in Arsenal conceding goals.

Yes it was a worry last season as we heavily relied on Saliba and Gabriel mostly in the season. But once Saliba was injured it went on shaky after that. Kiwior has the potential the way he played. He certainly plays with certain responsibility which I like but he still has long way to go, improve and mature.

Right now according to a tweet [1] quoting Romano's report, Arsenal plans to sign 2 midfielders, a centre back and a full back. Declan Rice(midfielder) and Joao Cancelo(left full-back) are confirmed Arsenal targets at this point.

Its a very good news for Liverpool fans that Mac Allister just signed the contract. The transfer fee is just 35m euro.
It can’t believes that Liverpool signed a world class player only 35m. Liverpool knows the transfer policy very well.[...]

A very smart move indeed. 24 year old young midfielder who recently won the World Cup with Argentina and have impressed everyone for just 35m Euro. Mac Allister is very much underrated and his release clause at Brighton was reported to be around 45-50m Euro but I am still puzzled on how Liverpool managed to make it only 35m, maybe its 35m Euro + add ons to match the release clause but nothing is clear except for 35m Euro at which deal is set done.

I think Newcastle can be a serious competitor for Man United in the hunt for Kim Min-Jae because there are rumours that Newcastle has a big enough budget for next season. This can be a tough transfer because when there are 2 teams that are interested in the same player, it is likely that there will be a bidding war, and it can cause transfer values to be soaring.

Correct me if I am wrong but since its about release clause of 50m (let's say), I think it's not much of a bidding race between the clubs. I am sure both Newcastle and Manchester United are well capable of matching the release clause of 50m. Club is bound to accept if any club triggers the release clause of 50m. It's the matter of where the player actually chooses to move then. Manchester United has a very good history but Newcastle right now has deep pockets.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 07, 2023, 10:23:46 AM
Liverpool have completed the move of Brighton midfielder Mac Allister for just 35m Euro [1] which is a pure bargain for Liverpool. The quality the player has, he is at least worth around 70-75m Euro. I was actually thinking of like bid around 50m Euro but 35m is really sweet end of the deal for Liverpool.

In another news, Manchester United and Newcastle are very keen on Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae but his release clause will activate on July [2]. Reports are that his release clause is estimated to be 50m Euro [3].

According to Italian SkySports reporter Di Marzio, Roma have concrete interest on Youri Tielemans [1] who left Leicester City as his contract expired last week. There are reports of Aston Villa also interested in the player. [2] I think at Roma he will find much more timing and become a crucial player as compared to Aston Villa but the player might choose to stay in PL as he might feel much more comfortable here and avoid moving to other league. Where will he go? Will there be more teams joining in for the race to sign Tielemans?

I think Todd Boehly might have underestimated the task to bring Chelsea to the top. Obviously, he really thought that money can fix everything, but he has enough good examples to look at and see that it is not the case. PSG is one example and if they played in the Premier League, they would probably not win it. Manchester City has one of the best, if not the best manager in the world with Guardiola and he understands so much about soccer that he can provide the club with info on all fronts in terms of the sport. Boehly did some experiments and it didn't work out. There are articles where he says that he wants the leagues to function the American style and maybe that is one of his problems. He is entering new terrain and things work a bit differently in Europe.

I would say he probably knew how difficult it was to bring back Chelsea to the top. He also a baseball team so it's not like he is a rookie lol. Strengthening a squad and fixing their situation takes a lot of time so it would take some time for Chelsea to be back again to where they want. But yeah they really need to start their trusting the managers they hire. And on top of all, give them the time they need to restructure and bring back the club on track.

As for his idea of bringing an American way of things in football, well I am sure it is never gonna be accepted. There are lot of people who loves the football being handled the way as it is.

They’re reports that PSG have fired coach Christophe Galtier after one season at the club. At this point I think the board and their fans know nothing about football. Their problem is they want quick success. Due to the fact that they have the money, they want quick success especially in the champions league and it’s never easy. Now they have signed Asensio and Ugarte without caring whether they fit into new coache's tactics or formations? what a joke of a club. Zero strategy, zero plan and they want to win UCL.

Big clubs have huge expectations from the manager. If we review PSG with Galtier then he did well but the expectations of him were huge like for example better finish in UCL but they failed to advance in round of 16. PSG are desperate to win UCL and I believe they will continue to change until they find someone who can win them the title or at least finish in semifinals. They are a club who wanted to make every options available to the manager and manager has to work with those options. Just like you, I also don't find that "pure football spirit" in them, and I always get the vibe of "football as business" only from them. It's what sets teams like Real Madrid (14 times UCL Champions) and PSG (yet to win UCL) apart.

City are also in the same category but City are way more better as they have good squad harmony, have that fighting spirit, good manager to direct them, board and manager work accordingly, other staff members are better as well. With PSG it's all opposite. Only thing that is same is the money but still City are far more better than PSG.
