Multipools and miners in general will be unloading for days after mining has stopped. This is to be expected, I think blackcoin even dropped in price after mining ended. The only thing you should be concerned about right now is the best price point to get your final WC buys at. Absolute newbie here, I don't even own a single BTC.
That being said I'm really trying to learn about crytocurrencies, trading, etc. Somebody just asked what's the direct effect that the end of mining would have on the coin. I'm also interested in knowing the experts answer to that. Thanks in advance.
Right now a million coins are mined per hour until the total coins are found. That's PoW or distribution phase. When it stops no new coins are created. So the only way to get coins will be to buy them. The selling will not come from miners who need to dump the market go convert to bitcoin to pay their power consumption and take profits of their own. Except that the majority of coins mined are auto dumped immediately by the large pools. They make up for the majority of coins sold during the mining phase. Large pools dumping is letting more people buy in cheaply though. They might still be dumping a week after pow ends though. I know a lot of people think that after pow phase ends the price will skyrocket. It will take a few weeks at least for the effects to be seen. So many people in here are too anxious. Those are the weak hands, they'll sell too cheap because they always do. It's that born to lose mentality. |

I can't thank waffle when my investment loses value everyday. That's not cool. I am not panicking by any means, but if you buy and the price drops it kind of sucks. Reference all of the posts where people were calling bottom at 1500, 1400, 1300, 1200, etc... Those people bought in, and their investment is worth less because of waffle. Reference all the posts where people were saying to wait and it might even go down to 700. I honestly wouldn't even be worried if I had bought at 2200. I have been spreading small buys from 1600, anything below that I consider a bonus. |

Anyone else concerned that you need to leave your wallet unecnrypted to get PoS? I'd rather not do that. Does black coin make you unencrypt your wallet for PoS?
I think the dev should fix this.

Hackers will be targeting white coin due to this :/ you're skeptical for no reason. minting is 100% safe when set correctly. How do I set my wallet so it's still encrypted but I can mint at the same time? I'll appreciate your advice on this. Your wallet should automatically stay encrypted while staking. But I'm pretty sure you can't start staking until pow is over in a few days. If for some reason your wallet is unencrypted while your wallet is unlocked do this: To start Staking whilst retaining the security of your wallet, go Help>Debug Window. Now select the Console tab. Type the following at the bottom: walletpassphrase YourPassphrase 9999999 true Replace the YourPassphrase with your own passphrase. (the encryption password) The 9999999 relates to the amount of seconds that you wish to leave the wallet open for staking. Once you have added this hit Enter. Then hit the Red bar next to where you entered your text, to clear the information from your console and that should do it And having your wallet unlocked does not affect it's security. Just encrypt your wallet with a strong password, keep your backup wallet either on a storage device or encrypted folder and you should be iron clad. |

Once again my predictions were spot on.
I wouldn't hope for an immediate recovery once the coin switches to PoS either. When blackcoin switched to PoS, the price went up about 10%, stayed there for a day and then plunged down to 600 from 1400 when nothing happened.
Definitely better opportunities to buy in than now.
Did BC invited 2000 BTC volume on listing? As it currently stands WC is pretty much being mined exclusively by multipools. Its distribution would be far better than BC and hence the support. If Dev team don't abandon the ship for quick success. This coin is going places. The majority of people who bought into this pump and dump have got burned so far by the price fall. Why is the dev going to hang around when he premined a huge amount of the coins for himself? If he's smart he probably dumped them already onto the market at 2000 satoshis. Maybe he'll stick around but I wouldn't bank on it. Don't forget the market is also being flooded with Blackcoin clones now. By the end of next week there will be a half a dozen of these things trying to be the "next blackcoin". It's simple logic that's not possible. All this FUD you're trying to spread here while flying that blackcoin banner too. Why do you even care? I guess they were right, you don't catch flack until you're over the target. |

Cryptsy has had deposits frozen for 11 straight hours, investigating a Fork they said.
Can confirm that there has been no fork, and WC is on the correct chain. I knew that and so did Cryptsy lol They used it as an excuse to freeze deposits for 12 straight hours.. i was not amused ! I did not think for one second a fork happened.. They would have froze the coin trading if that was *maybe happening like they always have in the last year on other coins. They also cold have made an announcement about it on their main page twitter feed but they didn't They also didn't mention it on chat unless i did when HORUS threatened me to not mention it. Funny if you thought a fork was happening wouldn't you want your clients to protect themselves ? Anytime there is a fork word spreads quick and i seen no one anywhere saying anything about it so i knew it was pure raw bs from BITJOHN !!! Cryptsy wanted some White coin LOLOLOLOL That is all it was i am certain hahhaa It's for bullshit like that I took everything I had off of craptsy and moved my operation over to mint.
