481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unconfirmed transaction/hashrate decreasing! on: December 22, 2014, 06:06:33 AM
The decrease in hash rate has nothing to do with confirmation time.

I dispute that. The hash rate does affect the speed of confirmations. Difficulty is adjusted to try and keep the average block time at 10 minutes.
If for whatever reason (fork?) 25+% of the network hash rate drops off suddenly then expect confirmations to be slower.

It is either bad luck currently on the block or improper fees when sending the transaction.

I agree with it being bad luck. The average time is 10 minutes but there are regularly blocks that take significantly longer (and shorter as well).
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][SOON] SOON COIN .. coming soon™ // bounties added on: December 21, 2014, 11:55:52 PM
Actually we're considering rebranding our coin from SOON to L8R. Since others were quick to steal our name.

Development is of course going ahead exactly as originally planned. Regular updates may appear SOONer or L8R.

This post may be a parody, sarcastic and or ironic. (I need to put this here, just to make sure. It is the internet after all)

Is that a cheap knock-off Lamborghini?  Huh Grin

https://btcjam.com/listings/30712-business-investment

btcjam is my colleteral or my 325i 2006 bmw.

Does it run?

That's relevant information...

Which one? The bmw or btcjam? Cause btcjam is not running right now. It's down for maintenance Tongue.

Also without a trusted way to secure the collateral in case of a default, it's not really collateral at all.
485  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Charlie Shrem is scammer, watch out on: December 18, 2014, 07:02:31 AM
I disagree with the consensus in this thread. I haven't met or spoken to him but I believe he's a trustworthy person, from what I can see it simply seems like he doesn't have access to enough bitcoins at the moment.

I'm willing to seamlessly buy the debt at a fair price and allow Charlie up to 6 months of zero scrutiny to return the funds as long as he is fully aware of what's going on and approves the debt transfer. I've been following this thread for a while and I believe there is a good chance he will return the funds. Before moving forward I'd also like some sort of update from him, I'm a patient person but I'd like an idea of when he will have available funds.

PM me your offer for the debt and I can send payment immediately after my above conditions are reached.
I would be careful dealing with barcek, (look at his username - it is very close to Obama's first name - certainly untrustworthy) he seems to not be the most honest trader on here, not by far.

I know that he has posted an address that he said will not change, and asked someone to quote him in case his account were to get hacked. Someone had quoted him on this thread, but after checking the entire thread twice I am unable to find either message.

If you do get an offer from barcek I would suggest having badbear restore the deleted posts and getting a signed message from the same address that was posted. The only address that barcek has posted is here.

Have you been reading the same thread I've been reading? While I think bracek's communications are crude he has a valid point. Charlie writes politely but has repeatedly made promises only to break them / backpedal. Charlie downplays the issue by saying he can pay back fast and that he's making regular payments... But the last payment I see on the wallet address was on 2014-11-19. In my book Charlie is screwing over bracek. I would be pissed too.
486  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling PBMining Account (3000 GH/s) on: December 11, 2014, 04:34:43 AM

Correct. I wouldn't buy this. xandros, I find it hard to believe you're unaware of the situation. You're trying to sell your "contract" to someone gullible. I think this is low.

I have seen speculation about this since around the time I have invested. As far as I am aware, it's still a hot debate whether the operation is actually a ponzi or not. I have never had an issue with payments or their support. If you can prove to me that it in fact is a ponzi, I will call off my sale. I do not wish to give a fake contract to another person.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=887871.msg9790565#msg9790565

You call it speculation. Now tell me that you didn't notice a severely reduced payout this week? Your 3000 PBMiningGH/s would return about BTC0.012 this week.
487  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling PBMining Account (3000 GH/s) on: December 11, 2014, 03:35:02 AM
Why do you sell your account
with 3000 gh you can get 0.2 per week  Wink
It's because PBMining is exposed as a ponzi now from my understanding.

Correct. I wouldn't buy this. xandros, I find it hard to believe you're unaware of the situation. You're trying to sell your "contract" to someone gullible. I think this is low.
488  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: In need of BTC loan to build mining operation. on: December 09, 2014, 06:04:21 AM
That would be cool if I were in fact dealing with a bank but I can't just put just anything as collateral to just anybody that would be irresponsible and kind of not smart especially for something as volatile as bitcoin. So there has got to be other ways to get a bitcoin loan.

Are you implying that providing you with a loan without anything of value to back the loan would not be "irresponsible and kind of not smart"? If so this is comedy gold.
489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help/Advice on: November 28, 2014, 06:24:55 AM
I understand Bitcoin quite well, just have no clue how to invest and profit from bitcoin

Don't feel bad, most of us (including me) don't know that and those who do tend to guard their knowledge since sharing it would reduce their own profitability.
490  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help/Advice on: November 28, 2014, 05:51:54 AM
Hello

Basically Im looking to invest in Bitcoin, i dont have any experience trading but dont mind learning, even-though i find it very confusing.

Im looking to invest around 1k usd, any advice how i can how about with this?

First thing is to be aware that the value of bitcoin is very volatile. You should verify for yourself if the risk is acceptable.

For a nice getting started guide I suggest https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started. You could also buy bitcoins directly from someone, but it is up to you to make sure they are trustworthy.
491  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Verification is a wannabe scammer. on: November 28, 2014, 05:30:12 AM

Niann damaged his own account by lending it out for money. You can't blame anyone else for it.

he made it only public because he wanted to make others aware of a scammer...
thats nice of him. nobody (except maybe mods) knows how many people he contacted and asked for a loan

Regardless, lending out your account is bad for trust. Saying that the damage is done only when someone else published that is silly.

Of course, Niann was placed between a rock and hard place because someone else used their account in a way they didn't approve of... After that their choice was to either make it known that they rent out their account or risk being linked to some $9000 dollar loans.
This whole line of reasoning is irrelevant. These two made an agreement. Verification violated it. Therefore he has no more rights under that agreement correct?

I didn't make any statement about the actual deal. I just responded to the claim that Verification damaged the trust of the account. My view on it is that Niann damaged their trust themselves.

I don't really feel like making a statement on the actual agreement or whether it was violated by any party simply because I don't know the details. Also I feel it is unlikely that Verification and Niann will find a compromise that will settle this issue no matter how "lawyering" anyone does.

HE'S ACCOUNT IS NOT DAMAGED.

did you wrote that:
Of course I will ID myself with no issues, the amount i need complete in FIAT is $9000 ( A lot of money ) The repayment is about 6 months giving back a 7% of the amount,
Huh?

you damaged his account because its now public knowledge that he is willing to lend it out for money. if i would make a bigger deal with him (never had before) i would double-check

Niann damaged his own account by lending it out for money. You can't blame anyone else for it.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: November 26, 2014, 09:59:48 AM
Now...we will keep the source from Supercoin open source, however if we are going to add in wallet trading, multiple coin support and other exclusive developments to Supercoin, then those developments WILL stay closed source.

No coin has benefits if ALL the source code is open source. Closed source will give value to a coin as it will be unique. So I think we will do the following, we will make 2 wallets for every operating system. 1 with special futures and 1 without them.

Am I the only one who thinks that's ironic after all the struggling to get source published?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=41911

His trust explains enough, he makes random assumptions.

He is doing a terrible job. He shall be removed. It's like putting a 5 year old in front of a big red button that says "Blow up the world". Not the best idea, right?

I am asking for justice and for the best of the forum.

Thanks,
Candy

BadBear's trust: 7: -0 / +4(4)
Candystripes trust: -2: -1 / +4(4) Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

Yeah, saying his trust explains enough is not really helping any case you imagine to have...

And ironically I predict this post will probably lead to more spiteful neg trust for me.
496  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: QoinPro.com - Free BTC, DOGE, LTC, FTC, VTA every 24 hours automatically on: November 26, 2014, 02:52:57 AM
It works only if a member have thousands of referrals.

I have 7000+ referrals (but honestly do nothing now) and my earnings are like 0.0015 btc. Bullshit, just steer clear of this one.. not only that I have tried to get a payout on that shitty balance for about 2 months now. Each time it says (no matter what address I use) it cannot validate the address and to contact them. Bullshit +1.

Seriously? 7000+ and you get 40 cents a day? lol...

Actually I went and double checked. 960+ level 1 referrals, over 7093+ total inline referrals and no, not 40 cents a day. That would be hot. That balance is ALL TIME. And, I still cannot withdraw it because it won't accept any of the hundreds of valid bitcoin addresses I offer it. Doge and litecoin are the same.. I haven't tried withdrawing the other coins nor will I because, in the end, this site is just a huge scam.

Quoted for those too lazy to read through the thread. Conclusion: this faucet is useless.

498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: November 19, 2014, 04:42:19 AM
OK first let me thank all who care about this coin. Due to the fact that I see no experienced dev come forward to take over the code and people expressed their opinions to release the source code, I released it now at github
https://github.com/supercoinproject/supercoin-p2p

So we have an open source now, anyone can maintain and continue developing it. I developed the p2p anonymous system with multisig technologies in a little more than a month time, it was an exciting and intense month that I spent a lot time developing the code and testing. A few people helped me testing the code, especially supercointeam, and with whom we supported the supercoin community for many months. The code works very smoothly, though it still have many aspects to be enhanced which I will list below for the potential future developers.

It was fun and exciting with supercoin. We have many great supporters, also enough fudders. I still see sometimes people doubt if the code is real. Imagine this, how can I put fake things inside that can work so flawlessly? and with dynamic log messages that everyone can use the console and see? There are so many dumb people in this domain, and so few people who really understand the technologies.

Now the code is public, please review the code (well for those who really know the code, otherwise it will be tough for you... very tough). If you have issues with the code, please use debugger, you will understand it better. I may come back from time to time to check the comments and questions, but as I am busy, I won't reply unless it is really needed.

For the future developers, please note that the p2p anonymous code with multisig is done in about one month time, therefore while I ensure the main scenarios working fine, there are some codes I haven't got time to complete, this is mainly in the domain of error handling and reverting back the transaction, this should be easy to add (though it could be tedious) based on the existing code. Another potential issues is the out of sequence messages. I handled many such cases during my tests, all occurred scenarios are handled. But due to the potential high number of combinations, in rare case there may still be some potential cases due to out of sequence messages that the transaction may fail.

Anyway, have fun with the code, and if you understand it well, you can copy-paste to another coin. But doing so only if you understand the code, since it is complex code. I'd be really sad if you copy-paste the code but don't know how to handle issues when they occur  Grin

https://github.com/supercoinproject/supercoin-p2p gives me a 404, page not found.
