481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 07, 2024, 09:19:42 PM
I was thinking about my past experience with my grandmother when I was still starting in crypto industry and was getting familiar with gambling yet. Since I knew she was a gambling enthusiast (loved slot machines), I tried introducing her to virtual betting, telling it was an accessible and easy method to gamble from home with comfort and easiness.

So I opened a slots website on the laptop and told her to click the touchpad over the roll button, indicated by the arrow on the screen, to start betting. She did it for a while and had some fun when winnings were hit. In the end, I asked her what she thought about the experience and if she would replace the habit of going to physical casino by the virtual one, but she replied that it was too complicated for her to play online, and that she likes the contact with a physical environment where there are physical machines and other people to talk, so she could leave the boredom of staying alone at home to see traffic and flux of people outside the doors.

As you can see, it wasn't only about gambling, but also about interacting with other people inside a real gambling environment, besides the technological experience not being so rewardable when compared to playing at solid, palpable physical machines.

And you, have you ever successfully introduced an elder person to virtual gambling?
Some people tend to not like trying new things as it's just not what they grew up with and not what they're used to. Facebook for example, my dad is 60+ years ago and has within the last 5 years I got him on facebook. He has no clue about technology and keeps losing his password, instead of clicking forgot password and resetting his pw, he makes a new account everytime. I now have about 6 profiles of him in my friends.

Older people and gambling is likely the same way. They grew up in an era of getting out and meeting people, not like us where online is much easier.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably Fair- How Can You Know? on: February 07, 2024, 07:51:55 PM
I appreciate everyone's responses here.  I haven't had time to go through all of them yet, but the few that I have, have helped me to be able to understand things a little better.

Are you asking how do you know if the casino isn't cheating you? Like giving you salted seeds? Or are you wondering how to check a games results? If it's the latter there are verifiers out there, 1 was provided for you. If you are asking the 1st question, I would like to know that myself.

Yeah exactly, I'm wondering how it can ( or can't ) be proven if the Casino is cheating you or not.  It feels like they have been lately, hence why I've asked this question lol
Would be very hard to find out if a casino is giving you salted seeds. I think someone on the inside would have to leak that information. The result is going to look fine if you go to verify a bet from a salted seed, nothing would look fishy.

I think you would only have to worry on a smaller casino, but I could be wrong. I just don't feel like a big name is going to risk their name.
483  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Emails requesting Bitcoin. on: February 07, 2024, 06:12:40 PM
Never pay any sort of extortion attempt. If you pay it once, they'll probably keep going and look for a 2nd or 3rd or 4th payment.

484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 07, 2024, 04:14:49 PM
It is so unfortunate how some gamblers become so addicted to the extent of selling off most of their properties just to play gamble even when they're aware of the risk that is associated with selling ones properties as you may not be able to replace that same property again even in your entire life.

I remembered some years back when an addicted gambling friend of mine sold his father's car and used the money to play gamble, and he ran out of the house to an unknown destination for over 3 years such that the parents where even looking for him to come back home regardless of the crime he committed because he was his parents only male child, so this friend of mine was invincible and without communication for 3 years and afterwards he returned home looking so unkept and his parents saw him and started crying that regardless of what he did that he wouldn't have ran out of their sight and he apologized for his actions and started living a different life. Just imagine the conditions he went through just because of taking a reckless decision that may have even taken his life because no one knows his activities as he left home and moreover he had already spent all the money gotten from the car he sold on gambling, so how he managed to survive without money and help from his friends and relatives for good 3 years is a risk no body would wish to take in life.

No matter how deep you are in gambling never you sell a property because you will surely regret it when it doesn't work the way you expected.

Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?
Selling a property is probably an extreme and rare case for gamblers. If someone hasn't noticed they had a problem by that point, then that person's family and friends failed them.

I have never sold property or anything but time to gamble.

486  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happens if someone sells an account on a neighboring forum? on: February 04, 2024, 11:14:02 PM
As we know, there is a neighboring forum that is starting to get busy for some reason, and we can teleport the account there. So what happens if someone sells their account on a neighboring forum? Maybe it hasn't happened yet, but someday it might happen when the neighbor forum becomes bigger than it is now. (I mean selling teleport accounts from bitcointalk accounts)

That neighbour doesn't have a DT system, there's not even feedback like there is here. It exists, but it is very poorly implemented, so it cannot be considered relevant. So if someone sells their account in the neighbour's yard, it is certainly not part of the problem on Bitcointalk.
Certainly, there are administrators there too, who will react to the report in the case of impersonating someone else's profile from here. It is not particularly complicated if there is evidence and there is a desire to expose such accounts.
I think they may make changes later if the forum continues to grow, but I could be wrong. Admin seems to listen to some of the community suggestions.
487  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi | Project status & Refund Plan! on: February 04, 2024, 09:28:47 PM
I think they should at least communicate on here and let people know what the status is. Probably should have seen some refunds at this point as well, but so far I see nothing. Have they launched the new platform or does anyone know?
488  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happens if someone sells an account on a neighboring forum? on: February 04, 2024, 04:53:35 PM
Since the other forum has nothing to do with bitcointalk, it doesn't matter as far as here goes. For the other forum, they do not have a system for tagging people, just negative karma and no place to put why you gave the negative karma. The only thing you could do is probably send the admin there proof of the sale and get the account marked as a cheater. Without proof, they likely will not do anything.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investment in gambling on: February 04, 2024, 02:58:30 PM
Investing is not gambling. In fact, if we invest carelessly, it is usually called gambling, but not in the true sense but only as a parable. Gambling is a game that involves risking money or something that has value and in reality it is very different from investment, and a ponzi scheme is a fraudulent motive that is usually affiliated with an investment motive, and I do not call it gambling but investment fraud

I never try to deliberately invest in something that will most likely be a scam in the future, but because you are ready for the risk and have good analysis before investing, then this is not a problem. But I like your way of managing risk

Investing can be considered a form of gambling as you are risking your money hoping for a return on your investment, but you are not guaranteed a profit. I know many people who invested and the stock market crashed, they lost their money or at least a good portion of it.

I see you mention a few freebies and 14 spots. Are all 14 spots free? Any casino can apply? Just asking some questions so that casinos can see the replies and maybe send you a message with interest.
491  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 8ombard.com - 100% Bonus Up To $150 on: February 04, 2024, 02:13:18 AM
What terms are attached to the bonus? It is important to let the players know what they can expect vs them trying to cash out and not being able to because there is a wager requirement attached. Always good to be transparent with the community.

Of course! We agree with this. The terms for the bonus are specific to each bonus campaign. To find the tnc for this bonus. Head to the rewards tab by clicking on your avatar. The bonus will appear and you will be able to click the tnc and read them.

We are also adding tnc access to the deposit page next to bonus activation.

I would post the bonus terms in any promotion you run just in case someone is too lazy to look for the terms on the site. Just smarter so you save yourselves from possibly a disgruntled customer.
492  Economy / Reputation / Re: The SportsBet.io Gang on: February 04, 2024, 12:13:53 AM
Are you going to make a topic about every site? If I get a merit from someone for posting my opinion in a stake thread, then stake is illegally incentivizing me?

When a person is hired by a manager, that manager is NOT allowed to tell users to post in certain threads. They're not allowed to say post in the company's announcement thread or promotions threads. I think people should try to support a company that has hired them and help keep their topic bumped, but I have never tried to require it for users. Companies have to follow the rules of the forum. People generally post in threads where they have an interest in the subject. Now, there are a few douchebags out there who are chasing a merit and see if they post in a certain thread they have a high chance of getting merited, but it's not illegal for them to do so.

Sportsbet.io is doing nothing wrong IMO.

It might be allowed but it definitely should not be.

Imagine if there are shady practices that happen in the gambling company, a new member goes to complain and the *gang" who are blindfolded by the payments that they receive from their master, attack legitimate complaints and claims?

This is where incentivizing posts within the same thread that the employer is running, goes wrong.

Then you add merit into the mix, people are able to/see that joining this circle jerk gets you ranked up faster, adding to the blindfolded numbnuts in the thread.

It shouldn't be allowed.

If I remember correctly, I contacted LoyceV about this 6-12 months ago, asking if it was worth posting about several members meriting each other in the Sportsbet thread. I ended up deciding against it temporarily, though I am glad the OP has pointed things out. I'll be sending him my research soon too.
If sportsbet was telling people to send merit or make a post in their threads it's one thing, if they aren't then it's fine.

Honestly I could care less as it doesn't mean shit to me 1 way or the other. Just giving my opinion. Everyone has their own opinion on the situation. Feel free to post and see what others think. Maybe you have something, maybe not.

4.Regular Audits: We conduct regular audits of our system and gameplay to ensure that our anti-cheating measures are always up-to-date and effective.

5.Clear Consequences: Players found engaging in cheating or collusion face strict penalties, including permanent bans from our platform. We believe in maintaining a clean and fair gaming environment for all our players.

Good to hear, i'll check you guys out once you launch the web platform. Not really a fan of playing from telegram, not sure how secure it is. You might take some advice of others and buy a copper membership from the forum admins and make a nice announcement thread.

If you have gone 7 years without using the account, they may have closed or disabled the account. Some sites will completely close an account if it hasn't been accessed or used in over 1 year. Maybe examplens will get a reply or a rep to come here and give some answers. Good luck.

496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 01:46:55 PM

I just met a friend while playing in a lottery called Keno. He is a good gambler and sometimes hits jackpots. As a pensioner with grown children, he is a heavy bettor. I noticed that he is a generous gambler. He uses half of his winnings to treat friends, neighbors, and relatives every time he wins. He does this to invite good karma and since he acknowledges his gambling addiction, people who know him don't question him.

One of his friends asked him why he kept betting instead of saving so he would have something when he needed it.

His answer was straightforward,
Quote
'I am betting so when I win I can share half of my winnings with my friends and relatives who need money like you.
' I was surprised by his answer. His friends felt guilty for asking him. Some gamblers are that generous to avoid questions about their gambling activities and to continue gambling.

How about you? Are you generous and if so, why are you generous?

In my case, I am a little generous because winning is a blessing that should be shared. However, I will not make people feel guilty when I give an amount from my blessing.

I agree with the Karma sentiment. I myself like to rain a little after a big win if the site has a chat rain function. I also will host a game of sorts and give some people a chance to win some money.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 03, 2024, 03:36:07 AM
When I saw a survey indicating that the majority of voters chose the player that only a handful of experts expect to win over the player that has proven to be more dominant, it blew my mind.

I am talking about the boxing match between former champion and big star Anthony Joshua and mma star Francis Nganou. However, I remember not long ago I refused to place a wager on Real Madrid because I desired Girona to win La Liga. In addition, wagering against the Los Angeles Lakers when matched with the best NBA teams is difficult for me.

I want to find out if there are individuals like me. What percentage of the gamblers in Bitcointalk are wagering and not wagering to their dearest star player, club and team?
There are a lot of gamblers out there that bet with their heart and not their brain. You say you are a Lakers fan, so you will never bet against them? You will end up losing more then you ever win betting that way. A team is not the same team night after night or year after year. Different starting lineups, injuries, foul trouble etc. All play a factor in the outcome of a game.

When you are betting you have to consider everything man.
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your multi-bet (paroli) strategy? on: February 03, 2024, 01:01:00 AM
People that gamble in sports will know that grouping your bets in a single slip (often called paroli) is a way to increase the odds on your stake. The massive downside this has is that if you make even a single wrong prediction, your whole stake at the given betting slip is counted as a loss.

The big advantage multi-bets can have is that it can lead to extremely high multipliers even if many bets with small odds are combined.
So I'm wondering if people out there have a certain multi-bet strategy.
For me I'm trying to figure out if there's a good strategy for multi-bets but it's not something that easy.
Good thing is that when playing with high odds, let's say chasing 10x multibets, it's ok to have a losing slip every so often.

If you go for odds that are 10x for instance, if you win more than 1 in 10 times you are still earning more than you're losing. Might sound easy but it's not. Cheesy
Luckily crypto bookmakers allow very small bets so it's easy to experiment.
So, anyone else here playing with multi-bets? Any strategies?
I try to look for teams that are running hot, check out the results of their last 10 games and check out their opponents stats as well for the past 10 games. This is specifically for NBA betting and helps me decide whether I want to give or take the points.

Keep the community updated on the progress of your wd. Whether they do or don't process the wd is going to say alot for them. It's kinda odd they made an account and have 1 post so far as well. Hope that's not a bad sign, Reps need to be active IMO.

I didn't try them just like that:

I knew I had seen the Weiss casino somewhere before:
BTCGosu Weiss Casino Review
Since they have a BTCGosu review I decided to give them a try!

I waited 7-8 hours before contacting support, they told me that the withdrawal can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several days. Maybe I would have waited longer, who knows, but BTCGosu provided support and speeded things up.

We are glad that you give us a try!

Yes, as your Loyalty rank increases, you will receive more tokens and bonuses from the casino.

Thanks for noticing our identity in brighter colors!

I am glad that I gave you a try! I had a great evening with some crazy nice winnings! In the end, everything was good for me and I made a nice profit! I am lvl 5 and I need just a few points to lvl 6! I guess I will be there in the upcoming days!
Good to see you got paid, that's a + for the casino although I don't like 15 minutes to several days as the wait time for a cashout.

Weiss you guys might want to change that and try to process wd asap unless an account is under investigation, then a delay is understandable.
