481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 04, 2017, 03:21:12 PM
Guys, I am backing India deep...
can india comeback from this situation or I should opt  for cashout?

I think it is very difficult for India to win the match from this position. The only way they can hope is for a low scoring match. Unless they restrict Australia to less than 150 (which looks difficult, especially seeing the way the openers are playing), India can kiss this match goodbye.

England and West Indies face off in an ODI today. West Indies will be disappointed at not being in the top 8 ranked teams and not making it to the Commonwealth Games. There is a good chance for them to upset England in this ODI.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: March 03, 2017, 02:09:47 PM
I was thinking about this, what if the US Dollar crashes like speculated by many renowned economists around the world?
What will be it's affects on the beloved currency, BTC?
I think crashing down for the filler or USD is impossible because in the Fiat currency the king is one which is USD .
But if it would be then the people who are non USD user will get profit . Because if USD carsh then the value of Bitcoin in USD will increase and if we sell.our Bitcoin for Fiat then we will get for profit in our own Fiat currency .

You have got the conversion wrong there.
If you have a different currency other than USD, then the USD crashing won't get you much more fiat.
Value of Bitcoin in USD will increase, but those dollars will fetch you less fiat. In the end, the value of BTC in your fiat currency won't change.
484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pessimist's Exponent on: March 03, 2017, 02:03:00 PM
Did you forgot about 2013 and 2014?
The bticoin price was $1216 back in November 2013 and after the Gox hack it went back to $90.
Bitcoin is doing pretty well for the last 2 years, but we have to be ready for disasters.
By the way i think that the optimists beleive in exponential growth, not pesimists.

2013 was an outlier and so was the crash in 2014. We didn't reach $10K after reaching $1200 in 2013.
There was a correction. Now the growth is more gradual. If adoption kicks off, the growth can be exponential in the future.  Smiley

Hi,

Can anybody tell me a business model where Blockchain is in use (except in Finance Industry) and the startup or company has already customers and revenues?
Do you have any example? Which industry is most developed in this area?

2nd Question
Does anybody know in which business areas blockchain will be most used?
Inssurance?
...?

Answer to your 1st question - Openbazaar is up and running.
If you want to look at other industries where blockchain finds application, you can have a look at this article
486  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000+ is perfectly possible in a post-ETF era on: February 27, 2017, 12:47:31 AM
Because I don't see the point!

An ETF for oil or gold is logical, because investors aren't going to actually buy solid gold or oil and stock it.
But BTC? What's the point to have a digital index for... A digital currency!?

tax advantages and security are good enough reasons for it to exist. if my elderly relative declared they were gonna get some bitcoin exposure they'd be better off doing it via their financial adviser rather than virwox and a burner phone.

You get tax advantages? Oo

Well ok for security for elderly people. On that one I can't say much it's probably important yeah ^^

Elderly relative? I would advise them to stay off Bitcoin and invest in (almost) risk-free products.
If Bitcoin crashes, they may not live to see the next boom.
487  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin provide income on line? on: February 27, 2017, 12:44:06 AM
many of my friends did not work but a lot of money away was great when compared, to me that is still working in the factory, I was confused from where producer obtained from bitcoin?

You can earn bitcoins, but nothing beats a regular job. You can earn some money in signature campaign, but what if you are spamming and the moderators decide to ban you. Boom. A stream of earnings is gone.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 27, 2017, 12:38:51 AM
Today got a fifth one-day match between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Now both teams have won two matches each and series is level. Today's match will decide the winner of this series. Afghanistan won first two matches and last two matches won by Zimbabwe. Now Zimbabwe looks quite confident after recent winnings, but I still feel that Afghanistan is better team compared to Zimbabwe, so I think today Afghanistan is going to win this match.
Afghanistan won the match by 106 runs(D/L method). Afghan bat first and made good target they scored 253 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. After that Zimbabwe started batting and the full team collapsed just for 54 runs. Only 2 batsmen scored double-digit remaining all batsman got out for a single digit. With this win, Afghanistan won the series by 3-2 congrats.

Afghanistan are going from strength to strength. Their victory against a full member team in an ODI series augurs well for associate nations. Even though the final deciding match was rain curtailed, Afghanistan's strong batting performance ensured that Zimbabwe were given a high target (Required run rate of 7.3 at the start). And then their bowlers completed the job.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: How to take advantage of ETF? on: February 24, 2017, 11:08:55 PM
If you can get some inside information about whether the ETC will get approved, you can "take advantage" of it.  Wink
Otherwise, just ride the Bitcoin wave on people's expectation that the ETF will get approved.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 24, 2017, 11:04:36 PM
Tommorrow if Australia are able to put more 100+ runs before getting allout and giving India target of above 300+ then seeing the pitch condition India will be worried to save this test match to lose it.
India really struggled to score 105 runs in the first innings and it is not possible to chase a score of above 200 in the second innings let alone a score of above 300 . Cheesy Indian players have to play an extra ordinary innings to save this match,if not Australia will be winning the match.

Agree that this match is as good as lost. Nobody in his right mind would back India now, no matter what the odds offered are. I think Australia might even wrap this match within 3 days.
491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Surpass All-Time High While We Wait for the ETF? on: February 24, 2017, 10:56:31 PM
I personally don't even feel that the Bitcoin ETF is going to be approved based on the pure fact of how volatile and risky Bitcoin is and how easy it would be, based on past history of bitcoin volatility, for an investor to lose all their earnings very quickly.

I'm not saying this risk isn't present when it comes to trading stocks, but everyone here knows bitcoin is much more risky then stocks. In the off-chance for approval, I don't think the Bitcoin price will be affected in a major way due to it, maybe it'll jump a bit then fall a bit.

In this bull run, all that matters is what people's perceptions are. If people think that there is a good chance of the ETF getting approved, the price will increase like crazy. In the end, if it doesn't get approved, we will have a huge crash.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen 9th march ? on: February 22, 2017, 12:10:22 AM
Hello,
Do you have any ideas what can happen with bitcoin value after the biggest china exchange will make btc withdraws again possible after 30 days suspended in 9th march ?

It will be a positive as people will be comfortable about buying bitcoins and withdrawing them. It will be a return to business as usual.
But the date to watch is 2 days later, when a decision on the Bitcoin ETF will be taken.
493  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE DUMP on: February 22, 2017, 12:06:31 AM
Just sold my trading stash. Price is climbing too fast. Short  positions prepared at 1140 USD. Lots of them...

Smiley This is possible, we have a history of Bitcoin price crashing whenever there is irregular increase in price.  But I guess there is a reason to this price increase,  the hype of the upcoming ETF decision.  Isn't it too soon to short at 1140?  How about shorting right after the ATH is broken?

You might make little money whenever there is a price retreat. But what happens when that one big upsurge happens? If you are holding a leveraged short position at that point, your entire capital might get wiped out.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 22, 2017, 12:01:25 AM
A very slow start from New Zealand as they lost their first wicket (Latham) with just 13 runs on the scoreboard. Currently the score is 39 runs and 10 over have passed. 40 overs to go. The good news for New Zealand fans is that Williamson and Brownlie are looking very good and I expect their partnership to make 50-100 runs at least.

They have increased their scoring rate a bit. Score at the halfway mark is 123/2. They have wickets in hand and can accelerate during the slog overs. I think they should be happy with a score of 290-310.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: China and price on: February 21, 2017, 01:04:33 AM
Not for long china can controlling bitcoin price, im sure now they on trouble due their efforts to make the price under $ 1000 always can not last long and now all trader are smart they not easy get in on the trap.

Honestly I used to believe that China is trying to control the price when  Bitcoin price go up more than $1000 but the last two press release of PBOC does not mean that they are or in a position of wanting to control Bitcoin price.  They are just after the implementation of the law regarding money laundering and possible support to the terrorist activities.  There is no way in their announcement that they are banning or want to control bitcoin price.  they are just preparing their exchanges for a more legal way of implementing rules on the transactions of Bitcoin.

Their interference stems from a desire to prevent ordinary Chinese from getting hurt. Other countries do it by issuing advisories and warnings; China does it by interfering in the market. Chinese are by nature gamblers and so Bitcoin is very attractive to them.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 21, 2017, 01:00:59 AM
The third ODI has been scheduled between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan today. Zimbabwe will hope to win at least this match, after losing the first two. Afghanistan can no longer be call underdogs.  Smiley
Afghanistan will be on a high after a couple of their players being picked up for the IPL as well.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 21, 2017, 12:52:38 AM

i think i saw 1108 on finex but i cannot believe it...  Cheesy

You did see it, the finex high was $1110.

We are now well above 1000 Euros, coinmarketcap says it's an average of €1017.81 and google says it's an average of €1028.

Even after some correction, Bitcoin is trading at $1080.
All we need is one push to take us to an ATH in dollar terms.
According to Dooglus' charts, we already reached an ATH in most other currency terms.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin anonymous on: February 20, 2017, 12:26:12 AM
if i buy bitcoin with a paypal account and then change this bitcoin wallet to another bitcoin wallet and with that wallet transfer bitcoin with somebody paypal money on another new pay^pal account, can they reach from all where it all start or every thing is lost because it is crypt ?Smiley

Don't bet on that. Bitcoin is pseudonymous, not anonymous.
If you really want to break the links, use a bitcoin mixer.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: After Chinese exchange comeback ? on: February 20, 2017, 12:21:45 AM
Alright , we all know that the Chinese exchanges stopped withdrawals for users for one month or so for fighting money laundering If I understood right. If they ever comeback to work , what impact could they have over the price ? should we expect seeing a huge dump ? assuming that people have their funds on the exchange without being able to move them right now , wouldn't that create too much supply after they comeback ?

It might lead to higher demand for bitcoins. Right now, people who were unable to withdraw bitcoins were selling bitcoins and withdrawing CNY. For somebody who wanted bitcoins immediately, there was no way to get them. Even if he bought them at exchanges, he wouldn't be able to withdraw them. Once these curbs are withdrawn, I foresee a lot of people buying bitcoins.
500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach $1000 again or not ? on: February 20, 2017, 12:19:10 AM
What is it that you are happy about? you all should know bitcoin's price going up and up every month and every year in inevitable and I'm predicting the price above $1800 before 2017 is over.
Well people are happy for it because it is simply making tons of profit for all the holders who have at least 20 bitcoins. For me it is just terrible Cheesy waiting for a big dip in order to buy some bitcoins for really cheap prices and then wait for a big growth.

What is so magical about holding 20 bitcoins? Even those holding larger number of bitcoins are trying to accumulate at the dips.
Even if you have made paper profits, you try to buy some more bitcoins and maximize your gain.
