As of right now bitcoin is far from dead, it has a current market capital of 14.5 billion dollars, more than the net worth of over the majority of businesses run in USD currency. The thing that keeps bitcoin growing is small businesses, these small business attract big businesses which attracts more bigger businesses which attracts more new comers which ultimately rises the price of bitcoin. The way I see it is every time the price of bitcoin goes up 10$ there is a 1% greater chance for a small businesses to open.

Well, I haven't tried two instances of the same eg.: BTC_LTC twice. In my case it was one instance of XMR and another of ETH. I also have a common bug where the client will freeze, usually after a sell order. It doesn't exactly freeze but just stops uploading information.
Another thing, commonly I will have a buy order and it will only sell some, have an altcoin balance but it wont go to a sell order and will just sit in there until a new buy order and sell order is made.

That sounds cool, if that is enabled + the time delay I think its very hard for someone to lose money over a long period of time doing this unless said altcoin crashes. You cant lose money, it is only a matter of short-term/middle or long-term trading. i.e.: do you remember the 0.0134 number? You and me were talkign about that on Telegram 2 days ago: today it is at 0.0137 Your right, although the altcoin could completely crash or the price drop for a very long time. Also something I forgot to add is there should be a option for multiple altcoins at once, you can do it now but if you open two separate ones and one of them is bought and placed in a sell order the other one wont buy as the one that bought would ***Slowing down to not drain your Bitcoins... BTC_XXX" and the one that hasn't yet bought yet will say: "***We have enough Bitcoins, proceeding with orders... BTC_XXX" I'm not sure if the coin that says it has enough bitcoin ever buys again, in my experience it never did but im not sure if its becuase I didn't wait long enough or if the bot was bugged. I just think that option should be added so it runs smoother and these bugs don't occur.
mmmmmhmm...that's an interesting thing, let me repeat what you said to be sure i can reproduce this: you start BTC_LTC with one instance and then you start again the same BTC_LTC in another instance? I'm interested to understand this because i'm actually working on crossing pairs over multiple markets and the way to handle the balance in different task. Hey Sweet thanks for your helpful feedback, i'm going to answer point by point: ~snip A complete refactor of the GUI is cooking and will be released with the update at the end of january: when i first started to develop the bot i had in mind something straight that would run mostly on people's computer background while they would watch at poloniex profits (that's how i meant a "bot", like something that does your job while you do other things). That's mostly why the cheap price of this bot. I realize tho, that people likes and needs buttons, stats, colors etc and they are probably right  . So point taken and stay tuned: the next GUI got tabs instead of floating windows, graphics and candlesticks instead of console logs, etc. Everything else has been moved in a dedicated section called "Debug". Sounds good gunthar, I like what I hear, I hope it turns out good. Some options I think that should be included is: the percent of your balance that will be traded We already discussed and despite i am contrary to this option, i HAVE to set this config (i will ask users a special confirmation in the TOS to have understood the "danger" of this point in full). I think that it should be added as an option just like the "Margin to sell" option is there or maybe in a more hidden area of the bot/advanced users only. Sometimes I like to have different percents when using the bot, sometimes 100% others just 50%. I think more availability to change everything makes for a better bot, everyone likes to change things constantly to their liking. One thing I think should be added, maybe to advanced, is that you should be able to put a time delay in between each buy order to prevent all your buy orders to be put in during a crash or big price drop. Correct: i also added a security check for those that dont like middle/long terms trading. It is called "Short-term only". If it is enabled, it will check the BUY price over a configurable threeshold. So heres my constructive feedback:
Firstly and most important, I think that the buy and sell order's price should be more displayed, currently there is 4 numbers that potentially could be the buy order (EMA1, EMA2, Targeted buy price, and last price) There should be only two numbers and those numbers should be the exact number that a buy order will be placed in when the price reaches that and the last price of the altcoin. I think the EMA1 and EMA2 information should be removed completely and if not removed added to a "advanced" section of the program as an option so that people like me don't have to see the the complicated numbers. As most of us are using your bot because we aren't skilled at doing this on our own, although some are and are interested in the excess information so thats why I think it should be there as an option.
My second suggestion is that the GUI should be slightly updated, instead of opening a CMD that constantly updates information through scrolling text (very unattractive), I think that it should just open a window that will update the information in one text line, eg.: Last Price: X price Updated at: X time Buy Order Price : X price : Updated at X time and the same with all other information that would be displayed (Buy order price, Last Price, Sell Order Price and EMA information as advanced section) . I think that the cmd prompt part of the program shouldn't be removed but put in the background with only the window with information to be seen, and the cmd prompt could serve as a log that could be looked at. EDIT: Also I think there should be another box of the information listed that would say either "Active" or "Below balance percentage", so that you can see when the bot is actively buying coins or is under the percentage you have it set to, to buy any more.
Lastly but least important, I think some options should be added and some should be taken away, assuming the advanced option of the bot were to be implemented I think that some options that aren't changed often should be be exclusive to the that. Including EMA period 1 and 2, Candlesticks, and Minimum variation, and would be hidden and set as default in a "Simple" version of the bot. Some options I think that should be included is: the percent of your balance that will be traded, and also Altcoin to Altcoin trading instead of just BTC to Altcoin. One thing I think should be added, maybe to advanced, is that you should be able to put a time delay in between each buy order to prevent all your buy orders to be put in during a crash or big price drop. Gunthar, I am interested in paying for your program, I think it's a good program that has the ability to make a lot of offline profit, with a few GUI tweaks and updates I think it could really be top notch.
How would you like to make a deal were I pay for half of the program, 0.05, and I pay the other half, 0.05, after I have profited 0.025 using the bot at any point, excluding all manual transactions. I will be using around 1 BTC or so with it daily meaning, if I make 1% daily, I should profit that in just a few days. If you do agree to this but don't trust me I don't mind holding it in an escrow (I could pay the fee aswell). Let me know what you think.

Definitely interesting. I want to keep it conservative. 0.5% a day or even lower is totally fine for me. How much bankroll should i locate to gunbot if i bought? Really interested, just afraif i might screw something up and lose my btc as there are quite a few things to keep in mind it seems  I'm trying to build up even a responsive "little community" of GUNBOT users too, as you can see, so to help the process to keep things in mind and get suggestions. Active on Telegram too (if you use it). Anway, my experience, the hardest part to keep in mind here is you have emotions, the bot doesnt  ~Gun Personally, I think there should be a "Safe mode" where when the bot would regularly set in a buy order it would pause to take a longer look at the direction of the altcoin, to see if the coin was crashing or settling at a lower price or not. Profit would take longer in this mode, but would make the risk less, if this was possible it could be used for long term users of this bot that don't check in often or don't go manual often. Not sure how possible this is to program, im sure the algorithm would be hard to make but would be a nice feature if made. I don't really know what factor's would need to be looked at by the bot to determine the price would be ultimately lowered. |

Maybe this is bull trap it can hit 900$ -930$ again before it's down under 700$ .
I'm waiting for the low price at 700$ to buy more bitcoins. Hope I'm wrong.
Personally, I don't believe bitcoin will steep that low, I believe that the price for this month will reach of high of 970$ and settle around 930-950$ for the next month of febuary and reach a low of 890$. I think it could reach, possibly, 700$ again but not for many months. This is just what I believe, most likely far from correct. |

I've been trading futures profitably on OKCoin since early December, so I'll pass along what little I know that has worked for me.
You need to know what kind of market you're in. I made great gains during december going long and just holding through the dips, and began scaling my position as the price breached 1000. You need to control your emotions and not let greed or fear get the best of you. At the time, as I started unwinding my long and watched the price rally higher, I felt stupid and the urge to re-long, but as evidenced by the crash it's always important to take profits when they've run high enough.
Now, we're currently in a period of uncertainty and fear and doubt. I made a couple of losing trades trying to take longer-period calls on price during the last couple of days when it flatlined before falling. this is the environment where, unless you've got thick skin and strong conviction, don't hold positions for too long and take profits when you can. Identify when you've made a bad trade and cut losses early. Nothing is worse than letting a position keep moving against you and feeling like shit, or worse still to try and average down and getting annihilated.
I've always looked at Bitcoin on a technical basis and try my best to identify levels I feel are strong resistance and support, and start building up long/short positions at those levels. Always have a plan in mind when you enter a trade, including your exit point and the point at which you cut losses. As the saying goes, "Plan your trade and trade your plan". You don't need to always be trading - if the market is going nowhere and there's no discernible short or medium term trend, just stay away. There will always be opportunities in the future, no need to chase trades that aren't there.
My personal view is that this is going to play out as a huge cup and handle pattern. We've seen the top of the cup with the second rally to almost all time highs, and now we begin the formation of the handle. While I feel that we might have reached a bottom, I think we might have more downside and an ultimate bottom around 700, unless we cut through that on a massive panic sell like we did when finex was hacked. This is when you should start thinking about a long position but even then, once you've made a healthy profit (an arbitrary amount different for each individual), close the position. Don't pray for a moonshot that never comes
Awesome advice..... .....but the OP isn't there yet. First, he got to go down the casino with all his chips and watch em get all eaten up, then start wondering how he only ever seems to make bad trades. I don't understand how this will help me, I have lost a lot of money in bitcoin gambling websites, probably over 10 bitcoin. BTW I know it can be hard to give advice with margin trading, mainly what I was asking for when creating this thread was better websites, things to look into for insight, and random things like that, that can greater your chance of profit a bit more. |
