481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin - set to rise with BTC? on: April 26, 2016, 02:41:19 AM
Yes Litecoin rises with btc the majority of the time.  Interesting that all alts are down but LTC stays strong.  It is a coin that is actually used.
482  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-25] The United States Is Falling Behind in Bitcoin Regulation on: April 25, 2016, 08:19:29 PM
I am not surprised by this.  The US gov really doesn't want bitcoin to take over their fiat system.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 25, 2016, 03:44:21 PM
Max, get the company incorporated, get a bridging loan against the btc assets, hire some shit hot developers, and work on managing this project better. don't be a 'hero' by trying to do it all yourself. admitting to weaknesses is actually a strength. a CEO should be hiring the smartest people available. the CEO should not be the smartest person in the company. don't make that operational mistake.

+1000

keeping the faith that Lisk can do it.  I like this technology.

I am not concerned with a refund and I invest in ICO's knowing it is possibly a total loss - nothing ventured nothing gained.

I am however  thrown off at the reality that there are 2 people working on this. Rentacoder is good as are many places online to find HUNGRY devs that need work.  On a couple projects I remember recruiting from the local college, many brilliant kids were willing to work on projects for free just for the experience.  They sometimes turned out better than salaried individuals.

As a developer who has worked on dev teams for the last 17 years I know that when you need coding/whatever done to finish a project you do whatever is necessary to hire people to get it done.  Put it on a credit card, or go to a bank loan officer and show the 6million in escrow to get a loan to get more developers, anything.  We would freak out for 1 client.  For this there are hundreds of investors waiting.

This is too long, btc halving coming up.  A release date of 4/11 would have been primo.

My last question - when has anything ever been released perfect? There are always bugs.

486  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap 2.0! (Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted) on: April 24, 2016, 07:00:06 PM
Very cool site, I have not seen this before, the major US cities are catching on.
487  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10.000.000 within a month !!!!!!! on: April 24, 2016, 05:34:51 PM
I think many people will require medical attention at that level that fast.  Shocked
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ever find an old wallet? on: April 24, 2016, 05:10:56 PM
Very cool that you found that old wallet.  Some of the stories about wallets from 2011-2013 are crazy, thousands lost/thousands found. I have not been in long enough to have an "old wallet"  Undecided
489  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-22] China Tightens Online Finance Regulations on: April 24, 2016, 05:08:52 PM
I can see some of this due to the statement about investors losing a lot of money due to closures and failures of online exchanges etc but it seems it would be very difficult to control online fintech businesses. If there is a global demand it somewhat overrides local issues.

Russia To Hold Cryptocurrency Conference Regarding Bitcoin Challenges

Although the event is called “Electronic Currency in Light of Contemporary legal and Economic Challenges”, it is clear this conference talks about cryptocurrency and not digital cash. Whether or not the organizers will focus on regulation of Bitcoin in the country as well, remains unknown for now. This news is a rather surprising turn of events, given Russia’s stance on Bitcoin in recent months. Not only have they blocked various news sites related to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, but...

Interesting.  Definitely a turn of events from hearing in the last couple months that Russia was going to ban it again.  This demonstrates that bitcoin and crypto are unstoppable and governments are going to have to figure out how to work with it.
491  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: April 23, 2016, 04:31:12 AM
They serve different purposes in terms of use and wealth building.  Bitcoin wins over gold in ease of use and not taking up space.  Gold will always be a storage of wealth IMO.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Number of individual people using Bitcoin on: April 23, 2016, 04:28:39 AM
This would be great to know and I have wondered this myself.  Very difficult to know with all of the different wallets individuals have.   I think the number is still quite small.  I know people into tech that do not know of bitcoin or simply dismiss it.

Good points and from a reputable source.  I wish he would have given a ballpark of what he thinks the price should be now.
494  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-21] Chinese company HaoBTC launches bitcoin exchange on: April 21, 2016, 04:14:14 PM
Great news from a legitimate company.  This may increase price.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got hacked , All my Bitcoin and Litecoin lost on: April 21, 2016, 04:12:40 PM
There's nothing we can do to help you, but you at least can learn something from this incident.
You can report it to police, but i think they can't do much either way Sad

You should keep your bitcoin in very safe place, such as paper wallet, hardware wallet or 100% offline PC where theft can't steal it easily.
Also, i think it's quite easy to detect that email isn't legit because company's email should be more formal.

About reporting it to the police - it is interesting how if 300k in cash/USD was stolen from someone the police would definitely investigate as it is a very serious theft.  Why with crypoto's is there usually no investigation.  This seems like an amount of money for the FBI cybercrime division or something.  The crypto world is definitely the wild west at this point.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got hacked , All my Bitcoin and Litecoin lost on: April 21, 2016, 03:24:55 AM
holy fucking shit 425 BTC and 39,612 LTC Shocked Shocked Shocked

oh man that is a lot of btc and ltc.  I am very sorry to hear this and I hope your investigation can find something.  Sometimes I wonder how many "job offers" that require you to apply with information about yourself are used by scammers/hackers to get into your computer.  Someone had to have known there was this amount of btc and ltc on your pc.  Have you ever indicated anywhere online how much you have?  I am always surprised when people respond to the "how many bitcoin do you have" posts, seems like an open door to the beginning of a hack through fishing.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin continuous rising? on: April 20, 2016, 04:49:03 PM
I am thinking it will be a continuous rise, can't see a drop. It has been way too quiet lately and we are approaching the halving.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 20, 2016, 02:38:49 PM

Hehe, NEW project but it's full of errors. It does not matter that it's new. It's a crap. Also, it costs 1 mil USD according to their website Smiley

1 million and they come with this shit?!?!?!? pffff. Something is wrong with these people and of course with the stupids investors.  Grin

You can hire IBM or any other giant software company with these money and they can create the software you may need not a crap which can be easily call  ; Open shit ERRORs bazaar

http://uk.businessinsider.com/openbazaar-gets-1-million-seed-round-from-andreessen-horowitz-union-square-ventures-2015-6

To their credit, I believe they hav released the FIRST EVER decentralized P2P marketplace app (other than Taaki's proof of concept). I agree that it's sloppy, and I hate the choice of python/nodeJS etc for this type of app.

Nonetheless, it mostly works, and it's a huge step forward in software concept and design.

I agree that to their credit they are the first to release something like this and naturally it will not be perfect.  The stores will fill up and kinks will be worked out if there is a serious demand for this kind of service, which I think there is.  I did my taxes and paid way too much to the Bay simply to sell.  10%, then paypal's fee, then cost of item, rediculous.   I am rooting for this all the way!
499  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-19] Coachella Shifts Towards Cashless Payments, Fans Request Bitcoin on: April 20, 2016, 02:30:52 PM
With an event like this that brings in 84 million and attracts 99k people a day this would be great for bitcoin.  Also interesting is that festival goers have been requesting bitcoin since 2014.  Most of my festivals were done in the late 90s and early 2000s and I would have LOVED to not have to worry about paper money.
500  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-20] Duo Search Is A Search Engine For OpenBazaar on: April 20, 2016, 02:27:02 PM
Is there a particular item or service you hope to find on OpenBazaar?

What makes Duo Search so important is the way users can distinguish between item listings. For example, users might look for physical goods, digital items, or even services. In the case of physical products, the condition will matter, as well as where the item is shipped from. Plus, some sellers offer free shipping, which is another important filter across the OpenBazaar protocol.

Great to hear.  I was hoping for a good search option with OpenBazaar, it needs one in order to compete with you know who.
